Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

So I ended up nipping to Boots and buying some tests as I was too impatient for Amazon 😅 It's negative though 😔 tried not to get my hopes up but I'm so disappointed! I thought with being nearly a week late I might've been... onto cycle 10 now 😭

KayL1988 · 01/06/2021 08:23

@HRP1990 that definitely looks like a peak. Definitely worth doing the do if you can for the next day or two. Excitingggg!!

I've put them in a makeup bag so they can sit on my side or in my bathroom cupboard unnoticed. The fear of someone using my bathroom and spotting a big box of clear blue ovulation sticks was too much 😂😂

Ksamson555 · 01/06/2021 08:13

@HRP1990 Ahh maybe it is! Good job you were testing though as you might've missed it! Haha I don't blame you 😅

HRP1990 · 01/06/2021 07:58

@Ksamson555 my last cycle was 25 and before that 28.. so 32 would be very long for me. Perhaps it’s the vitamins taking it toll already! 😂

I’m actually supposed to go to london for the night tonight for work however I’m considering rearranging so I don’t miss this month haha

Ksamson555 · 01/06/2021 07:55

@HRP1990

All that DTD and now I need to gear myself up again. I’m so tired 😂
Haha 😂 remember though, they say to DTD 5 days before and during the lead up to ovulating so fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Ksamson555 · 01/06/2021 07:54

@HRP1990 are you usually regular with your cycles? Just as I would've presumed ovulating on day 18 would mean your cycle length would be around 32 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have never used those strips before.. I normally use the clear blue digital ones!
Exciting times that you're about to ovulate though 👏🏻 I always worry I won't catch the right day 🤣

HRP1990 · 01/06/2021 07:51

All that DTD and now I need to gear myself up again. I’m so tired 😂

HRP1990 · 01/06/2021 07:49

@Ksamson555 fingers crossed you’re not out yet!

@KayL1988 I love that it’s all in a makeup bag haha. I have a box of it all too, just encase 😬

I thought I was 5DPO today.. but I thought I’d do a random OPK this morning to satisfy the urge to test.. turns I’m out I’m about to ovulate 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ This is incredibly late for me as I have a 25 day cycle! What do you think? (Just to say I marked CD12 as peak as that was my highest reading)

Ksamson555 · 01/06/2021 07:47

@KayL1988 normally between 26 and 30 so fairly regular! Ahh that's a good idea! I should stock up so I always have some to hand 😅

KayL1988 · 01/06/2021 07:38

@Ksamson555 urgh yeah that would be annoying. Are your cycles normally regular?

I have a little make up bag in the bathroom full of ovulation tests and some pregnancy tests 😂 clearly just so I'm always ready to test. I used one day before AF was due so I'd feel less guilty having a glass of wine.

I have... a bunch of ovulation tests, a clear blue early response test, two FRER, and a digital clear blue ... I don't know why but it makes me feel better knowing they are there!

Ksamson555 · 01/06/2021 07:07

@KayL1988 haha I used both the tests the day I was due 🤦🏻‍♀️ I thought the longer I leave it, it gives it a chance for the hormone levels to rise so I wouldn't get a false neg if that makes sense! I'm exhausted but I'm a teacher and it's half term so that's normal I guess 😅 if I'm not pregnant I have no idea how I'll track ovulation this cycle without a period!

KayL1988 · 01/06/2021 07:02

@Ksamson555 oh my gosh! Keep us updated - I've no idea how you've waited so long after AF was due. How do you feel in yourself?

Ksamson555 · 01/06/2021 06:53

@SareBear87 sorry that AF has arrived 😔 it's good that your cycles are regular though as it means you should be able to track more easily! You're right, March is a good time 👍🏻

I'm 6 days late. Did a test on the day I was due on and it was neg but I'm going to take another today 🤞🏼 It's been driving me mad all night waiting for the Amazon order of tests to arrive! Apparently the covid vaccine can mess with your cycles tho and I had my second on 3rd May... we'll see!

KayL1988 · 01/06/2021 06:46

Oh no sorry AF arrived @SareBear87 but yes March would be a lovely time for a baby.

Our Hormones being all over the place makes it a real emotional rollercoaster which to be fair the whole process already is. I do wonder how our parents and grandparents did this.... my mum said she was taught a rough cycle calendar early on - so maybe they just knew more than us earlier??

SareBear87 · 31/05/2021 23:07

@Ksamson555 i symptom spot like mad! I had one month where I didn't check anything and that was only because work was manic

AF arrived this afternoon, bang on time, regular as clockwork so onto cycle 7.... I felt really crap about it but my partner pointed out that weather is better in March for a baby!

HRP1990 · 31/05/2021 10:13

Me too @Ksamson555 😂 and what symptoms I might have at 4DPO (none by the way as it’s way too early haha) but always worth asking Dr Google just encase he has the answer I want to hear 🥴

Ksamson555 · 31/05/2021 10:09

@KayL1988 and @HRP1990 I’m exactly the same 🤣 always look into things beforehand (especially restaurants and menus haha).
I’m trying to be more chilled about ttc but I find I spend ages reading up on signs of implantation etc 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ No harm in educating myself tho I suppose haha

HRP1990 · 31/05/2021 09:50

@KayL1988 I’m the same! I like to look through Instagram at food before I order it 😂 And clothes before I purchase them!

I have the Pregnacare ones too. We’ll get lots of vitamin D for sure today, it is roasting this morning ☀️

KayL1988 · 31/05/2021 08:59

DTD is definitely the way forward and we'll probably aim to be active this month since we have less on! I also wanted to be relaxed but I felt more stressed not knowing anything. I'm that person who scours restaurant reviews and checks product reviews religiously though - so guess it's just me?

I just bought the pregnacare/wellman multivitamins - but to honest when I read up on it - it just said folic acid and vitamin d are the most recommended (and a lot cheaper). I already have a vitamin d supplement so may just get some good quality folic acid next month.

SH1000 · 31/05/2021 08:57

Thanks @KayL1988 and @HRP1990. It’s hard to stay away from the apps and things so we’ll see how it goes Hmm

Happy Monday!! Smile

HRP1990 · 31/05/2021 08:30

My last cycle was 25 days so if the vitamins were to lengthen I wouldn’t mind so much, I guess it would give my body more time to prepare to ovulate 🤷🏻‍♀️

@SH1000 DTD every other day you’re bound to hit your fertile window! I wanted to take the relaxed approach but I can’t keep myself away from the apps/tracking/googling everything 😂😩

Which vits to you take @KayL1988?

KayL1988 · 30/05/2021 23:29

@SH1000 definitely just do whatever makes you the most relaxed! Every other day should still hit your fertile point - if you know the rough timing you could always aim for every day over those few days too!

KayL1988 · 30/05/2021 23:28

Yeah @SareBear87 I was a bit worried but then though actually it's probably best to go through any changes earlier on - as they'll probably do me good in the long run. Definitely glad it's not messed with my cycle!

Yeah flo app can be a bit annoying 😂😂 I ignore most of it to be honest!

SH1000 · 30/05/2021 23:26

@HRP1990 ah that is more than likely it. So odd!!

Thanks @SareBear87. I just want it gone now so can start again.

I’m not going to use opk’s or apps this month, I’m going to try the ‘relaxed’ approach and dtd every other day. I’m worried about not using them though because there’s only a couple of fertile days each month and it’s such a long wait for the next month. So hard to know what to do

SareBear87 · 30/05/2021 23:14

@KayL1988 I've heard that preconception vitamins can play with your cycle, good to hear someone say they've been fine. I'm tempted by them but worried they'll screw with my cycle.

@SH1000 sorry AF arrived, it really sucks this conception lark!

I use Flo too, and I also link up with my FitBit. Flo seems pretty accurate for me but the little chatbot annoys me! Yes I've recorded EWCM, yes I know it's because I'm in my fertile window, I've been doing this awhile now 😆
