Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

Never mind, it’s 36 hours after the surge begins either way, I got excited for nothing, premom is just really really wrong haha!

To be honest, I am a little confused by it all at the moment, premom is still predicting ovulation for me next Thursday!

But according to Dr Google ovulation is 36 hours (give or take) after the surge begins, which should mean that premom should have adjusted yesterday to show me ovulating today? But it hasn’t, so technically, unless my LH drops over the rest of the day I should expect CB to show a static again when I test tomorrow morning?

Apparently there is also something called gradual onset LH, which gives you positive OPKs over the course of a few days while it slowly rises.

In which case, if ovulation is 36 hours after the surge begins, I’d be ovulating tonight and I’d miss it. But if it’s gradually going up does it still happen roughly 36 hours after the start of it rising or does it happen later and should I expect it Thursday as premom says?

I have all of the questions and zero answers.

@HRP1990 I also thought that, but on further research it detects the estrogen rise first, which is the flashing and then it goes static when it detects LH, so the surge can continue over those 2 days

@Peachycream For some reason I thought the static meant you were ovulating! I’m sure it stays there for 48 hours until the window is over 🤔

Peachycream · 04/06/2021 13:41

Hi ladies

So I’ve done a cheapy as CB has banned me from testing for 2 days with its stupid static 😒 haha and it looks like I haven’t yet peaked, so I could still be in! Woohoo!!!!!!

It raining buckets here in Brighton. Crazy considering the heatwave we had a few days ago! No proper plans this weekend, trying to stay alcohol free as much as possible 🤞🏻 Perhaps a glass of wine next weekend if I see AF!

Aries491 · 04/06/2021 10:29

@KayL1988 I'm not due to ovulate until Sunday (making sure we DTD today, sneaky tomorrow if we can haha and deffo Sunday depending on my opk tests) but still wouldn't want to overdo it just incase. Plus I can't abide feeling rough anymore lol!

KayL1988 · 04/06/2021 10:27

@Aries491 taking it easy on the alcohol is always easier said than done! I know people get pregnant drinking but I always feel like I worry a bit more after ovulation!

KayL1988 · 04/06/2021 10:22

Morning all!! I think weather is warm but not too much sun here!! I've got a brunch and a few proseccos tomorrow, and then a nice lazy Sunday hopefully doing some gardening.

Aries491 · 04/06/2021 10:04

Happy Friday Ladies!! Still got the sun up in Lancashire (for now!). Hope everyone has a pleasant Friday and weekend, I'm still WFH which is handy for getting those little jobs done :)

Got some friends staying this weekend so our first indoor meal out tomorrow night, just going to take it easy on the alcohol I reckon, what has everyone else got planned?

Ksamson555 · 04/06/2021 09:47

Morning!
It's quite nice here today... not sunny but not cold and rainy thankfully! Have you been working from home through lockdown? I feel lucky being able to go into work as I think it's helped me keep into some sort of routine! I've also started using Gousto lately which has helped me stick to eating better ☺️
Hope you all have some nice plans for the weekend 🥰☀️

GingerTea333 · 04/06/2021 09:30

Happy Friday ladies! Woke up to rain today but apparently the sun is back tomorrow. Aiming for lots of healthy food and exercise this weekend, I am still struggling to get back into a good routine post lockdown!

Aries491 · 03/06/2021 18:09

@HRP1990 thank you! Fingers crossed for you too hopefully a BFP in the pipeline soon!

I know thank god for the sunshine hehe let's hope we get more of that!

HRP1990 · 03/06/2021 17:16

Thanks @Aries491! Welcome to the 30s club 👋🏻

That’s so exciting! The thought of ovulation and what is potentially ahead gets me really excited. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

It’s gone cloudy down South aswell, at least it was a scorcher over bank holiday 😍 no vit D tablets needed then 🙌🏻

Aries491 · 03/06/2021 13:20

Exciting to see everyone's updates! Good luck with the TWW @HRP1990
I'm a 90s baby too, April 91 so just joined the 30s club this year! :-)
I'm currently CD12 so ovulation due on Sunday! Been DTD most days anyway but trying to take a more relaxed approach until I get that static smiley of course haha! :))) I take some pregnancy and conception vitamins so like a big multivit which includes the important folic acid but agreed with you all - these accidents that happen mustn't be on the vitamins etc!!

Wishing everyone a happy Thursday! Sunshine has disappeared up north now :(

KayL1988 · 03/06/2021 11:41

Thanks for a heads up @GingerTea333 !!!

I would be thinking my husband had rigged so it shows peak and he gets to DTD everyday 😂

GingerTea333 · 03/06/2021 11:34

So exciting to read everyone’s updates!

@KayL1988 the first month I used my monitor it said my high started super early and then I was waiting about 10 days for it to turn to peak, but I think that’s because it was getting used to my body and it’s been much better since then. So if it gives you a weird cycle this month don’t worry too much

HRP1990 · 03/06/2021 11:21

Haha that made me laugh @SareBear87!

That’s exciting. Fingers crossed for a BFP and some static smileys! @KayL1988

I get carried away with OPK’s I’m so glad they’re relatively cheap 😂

KayL1988 · 03/06/2021 10:59

@SareBear87 that made me chuckle 😂😂 Also our cycles seem quite synced so I'll also likely be ovulating around the time HRP can test!

Also my clear blue monitors arrived and set up. It says it'll ask me to start ovulation testing on day 6.... I definitely need a machine that doesn't let me test anything until the right time. 😂 so keen!

SareBear87 · 03/06/2021 10:28

@Peachycream you are 100% right, and my rational brain agrees but my emotional side just panics!

@HRP1990 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 exciting!! You potentially will get a result the day I'm due to ovulate! Positive vibes!

I've decided that women who announce they fell pregnant by missing one pill or had sex once are the equivalent of lads who claim they have a large one and go for hours.... 😂

HRP1990 · 03/06/2021 10:21

Thank you @Ksamson555 🥰

Ksamson555 · 03/06/2021 10:17

@HRP1990 this is exciting! I have all my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼🥰

Peachycream · 03/06/2021 08:26

It would appear that way @HRP1990 but not on purpose 🤣. It’ll happen when it’s supposed to and I guess now just wasn’t the right time

HRP1990 · 03/06/2021 08:12

Thanks girls! @Peachycream @KayL1988 my luteal phase is 11 days so I shouldn’t have too long to wait for potential AF!

Kay you must have almost finished AF now? Peachy you’re missing this one out and tracking instead to get an idea?

KayL1988 · 03/06/2021 08:05

Eeekkkk exciting @HRP1990 - we are here for you!! 🥰
