Newbie looking for some support

Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

@Dannii892 I read that implantation can be anywhere between 6DPO-12 latest.. so I’m hoping I’ll feel something soon. Boobs were sore 4DPO other than that just little cramps which could be because I’m always on the prowl for food😂

@HRP1990 It's so annoying isn't it.. I want the time to speed up if there's a BFP or BFN now.. this waiting just gives me pure anxiety 🙃

Girls this TWW is driving me mad already! Only DPO3 .. keep thinking I'm feeling things ect which I know is impossible at this time.. so frustrating 😫

I definitely need to relax this TWW and make time for myself, with my boyfriend and generally chill the hell out. It’s only the start of this journey!

@Peachycream all good over hear, no symptoms I don't think but my boobs do feel heavier still and nipples are sensitive but could that be hormones going crazy since O? How are you getting on? X

@ConfusedNewbie21 hi lovely, I hope I didn’t upset you yesterday. That wasn’t my intention, I just think that it’s important for you not to putt too much pressure on yourself and this. If it isn’t the outcome that you want I get the feeling you would be heartbroken. You are still very young, you have all the time in the world right now to either have a baby or go out and do the things that excite you!
It would be a good idea for you to work out your dates and what cycle day your on, for yourself more than anything, you can never be too educated about your own body and if you do decide to try properly, that’s only going to help you in the long run. Knowledge is power as they say.
You’ll get there, but remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint. And enjoy the time that you have now while your waiting for your test, with your partner, for yourself because you have to remember it’s never going to be just you again. Sometimes the less you worry about something, the easier it happens xx

@CTMcG I feel you with the chin hair... arms and legs are light but my chin grows a 3rd eye brow some months..

@GingerTea333 I thought the same thing! My sister has PCOS and our symptoms are like chalk and cheese, save the chin chair! My Dr said the unwanted facial fuzz is due testosterone, which can be influenced by diet. Seeing as I have a very sweet tooth I'm spiking my insulin, which interferes with my egg maturation hormone and then causes my testosterone levels to rise (sorry if that sounds like a science lesson!! Took me awhile to get my head around it!). So now I'm on a baby-diet 😂

@GingerTea333 I don’t have PCOS, I have chin hair because I had the implant, since I had it removed it has improved, but the struggle was real! Haha

@Peachycream @CTMcG How much chin hair are we talking? I got told by a doctor I have polycystic ovaries but not necessarily PCOS because I have regular periods and don’t think I have excess body hair. The chin hair on the other hand is real... so maybe I do have PCOS after all just with regular periods? This whole thing is a minefield!

Sorry girls I don’t know much about PCOS so I can’t help with that I’m afraid. There will be lots of forums on here though @ConfusedNewbie21!

Same with pregnancy symptoms. I’d take all my symptoms as pregnancy symptoms haha but only time will tell! I think cramps and sore boobs can potentially be symptoms but everyone is different.

I might test on Saturday.. I’ll be 10DPO. I only have an 11day luteal phase so if AF arrives she’ll show the following Monday 🤞🏻

Pcos isnt necessarily for life but it can be... there are different types! I dont actually have any cysts on my ovaries but i do have irregular periods and chin hair etc! Some people have pcos and find it hard to have babies, some find it really easy so its not one size fits all!

Its too early for me to know which way i fall as im only on cycle 1 of ttc#1 but i am on day 48 with no sign of af or bfp which is so typical this has happened on my first cycle trying as my last cycle was only 34 days!

No, lots of women get pregnant with pcos lovely, but if you’re trying it may take a little longer. If you know when your last bleed was you can work out where you should be. I’ll tag in @CTMcG she has PCOS she she might be able to tell you more than I can

@ConfusedNewbie21 well my understanding of PCOS is that it’s a lifelong thing hun, you can treat the cysts with surgery and medications but it doesn’t go away. Which is why your current cycle could be a bit jacked xx

@Peachycream you're so sweet! This is the thing though, I really don't have a regular cycle because I had just came out of PCOS! So since then I have had one full cycle but have been waiting well over a month for my next period. I literally can't see a way to go off dates. I'm so jelous of you all, you know exactly what you're talking about ! Grinxxx

Let’s try and help you work out your dates a little @ConfusedNewbie21 between us all we should be able to have at least a rough guess of where you are, right ladies?

Do you know what cycle day you are? If not
When was the first day of your last period?
When is your next period due?

@HRP1990 ooooh that’s exciting! Are you planning to wait until AF before testing?

@Dannii892 we will be testing on the same day then if my AF doesn’t arrive haha!

@ConfusedNewbie21 what your discharge looks like will give you more of an idea of where you are lovely but that is also relying on you knowing what is normal for you from cycle to cycle
