Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

@HRP1990 😂😂😂😂 so funny.. when do you think you will test.. ive been looking at FR on amazon but can't being myself to buy one.. I have a CBD in my nicker draw but apparently they aren't that sensitive?

@Peachycream that's genius!! But my family are so nosey they would deffo ask why I'm on antibiotics lol

Peachycream · 10/06/2021 20:00

Also, alcohol free is virtually everywhere now, so providing you order your own drink (and with the apps in pubs and restaurants now) it’s probably a lot easier to get away with

A friend of mine used to say she was on antibiotics so couldn’t drink, it was genius really cause everyone was too worried to ask what the antibiotics were for, and then everyone eventually forgot she wasn’t drinking until she announced and then it was like “ahhhhh yeah!” 🙃

@Dannii892 I totally misread what you said and repeated it in another way 😂 sorry (baby brain!?🥴)

HRP1990 · 10/06/2021 19:40

It’s dragging isn’t it!? @Dannii892

That sounds like the perfect meal pizza and a g+t!

I’m not a massive drinker to be honest. What I’m concerned about is when we get BFP how are we going to keep the secret and avoid drinking when out/social interactions now things are opening back up again!?

Dannii892 · 10/06/2021 18:48

Boy this TWW is killing me! I've given up trying to analyse everything lol .. feel like im having a real down day and so fking tired (probably hangry lol) .. could do with a massive cheesy pizza and a gin and tonic! Was thinking how will everyone avoid drinking when we get our BFPs?

PurpleCat88 · 10/06/2021 17:18

@GingerTea333 - I’m impressed with your green tea drinking! I’ll have a mint tea (or a ginger tea Grin) sometimes though. I didn’t think green had any caffeine so I’ve learnt something new there!

@Aries491 - yep can’t beat a good cuppa (Yorkshire tea for me!) I can taste a difference with decaf tea, it has a milder taste.

@HRP1990 - we’re rooting for you! Hopefully you’ll be our first BFP? I’ll definitely be holding out testing this month. Not going to make the same mistake with testing with a FRER only to get AF later that day Confused

I forgot to take my temp as soon as I woke up this morning, but remembered just after I got up, doh! I’m also using OPKs and haven’t got a peak yet at CD15. I know I ovulate a bit later though so hopefully this weekend is ‘go time’ GrinGrin.

HRP1990 · 10/06/2021 15:53

A week of DTD does drag 😂 joking.

Thanks girls @SareBear87 @Aries491! God the beach is so busy here when it’s Sunny! I might make like you Aries and do some gardening in the sun.. Anything to keep me away from testing lol

Aries491 · 10/06/2021 15:49

@HRP1990 echoing the above with you can do it :)
Fingers crossed on the weather indeed, I might pressure wash the yard lol not the most exciting but needs doing.

SareBear87 · 10/06/2021 15:46

@HRP1990 you can do it!!
Tbh this week has properly dragged. I think it's because there's not much planned for the weekend, just DTD 🙈

Hopefully the weather stays nice so we can go the beach... along with half the UK 😅

HRP1990 · 10/06/2021 15:17

I’m trying to eat a little healthier and drink a little less. More for my self not just because we’re TTC!

This week is going super slow for me. 8DPO.. AF is predicted Mon/Tues next week. Trying to hold out testing if I can but it’s hard work 😩

Aries491 · 10/06/2021 12:11

I think I would struggle cutting it our completely, sometimes there's nothing more satisfying than a lovely tea or coffee :)

I'm in the TWW @GingerTea333 but only about 3DPO and not googled yet, got a busy few days so thats keeping my mind off it lol going to try and wait until (if) AF is late to test this month. How is everyone else doing?

justwant2beamum · 10/06/2021 11:54

Since my mc ive decided to limit my caffeine. Ive tried to cut it out but on weekdays it just doesn't work for me if I want to get any work done. I have one shot of coffee or one cup of tea. Any others I try have decaf. But I have the occasional Diet Coke, dark choc which have caffeine but I think they're minimal and you're allowed 140mg (I think) while pregnant so I'm just trying to follow that. X

Peachycream · 10/06/2021 11:53

To be fair, you’re only supposed to be having 300mg of caffeine a day anyway, which is about 3 cups of coffee and during pregnancy it only reduces to 200mg so it’s not hugely different from what they say you should be consuming anyway. And green tea has the lowest caffeine content of them all @GingerTea333 with it being around 50mg so as long as you’re not drinking it excessively it should be okay 😊

This is why I haven’t cut my intake down, I only drink 2 cups of regular coffee anyway which is within limits of both either way 🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
GingerTea333 · 10/06/2021 11:40

I am so impressed with the caffeine reduction! I am down to 2 cups of green tea a day but getting below that is a struggle. I am really focusing on my diet though and eating really clean, and I don’t drink so hopefully 2 cups of green tea isn’t the worst vice in the world!

How are you guys in the TWW holding up? Managing to resist googling everything?

Aries491 · 10/06/2021 09:50

@PurpleCat88 I have one caffeine drink a day too then switch to decaff. I love my brews so good to get into the habit now I suppose. Alcohol wise I've just been taking it slower if I go pub or for a meal but don't drink a huge amount anyway so it's nothing new for me :-)

Peachycream · 09/06/2021 19:35

I think we’re 1 and done which is probably why I think about it a bit more, not that it matters either way, I’d be happy 😊

@PurpleCat88 I don’t really drink alcohol anyway but I haven’t cut out coffee or switched to decafe, and I have no plans to, you’re allowed a certain amount while pregnant anyway so I figured there’s no point.

OP posts:
PurpleCat88 · 09/06/2021 19:15

I don’t mind either way - a girl for the younger years, but boys seem easier in the teenage years? Could be totally wrong though!

I have also bought new clothes recently, and also stalled over making plans in case I’m pregnant in a few months time. It’s hard to know what to do for the best! 3rd cycle in I’m now thinking maybe just carry on with normal life as much as possible. I’ve cut down to one normal tea a day then switch to decaf and the occasional drink. What’s everyone else doing in terms of drinking and tea/coffee etc? Wine

Dannii892 · 09/06/2021 19:01

@HRP1990 and that too 😁

HRP1990 · 09/06/2021 18:46

I second this @Dannii892 and also to look after his younger sister lol

Dannii892 · 09/06/2021 18:43

@Peachycream I think I can honestly say I'd be happy either way.. I would like a boy BUT I really want to do the girls hair and clothes ect lol

Peachycream · 09/06/2021 18:26

@Aries491 that’s a great way to think of it, just keep it in the back of the mind just incase.

😂 @HRP1990 I love clothes shopping, I hadn’t even thought about if they fit, if they don’t I only see that as a bonus to do more shopping 😂

OP posts:
Aries491 · 09/06/2021 18:20

No worries @Peachycream he is now thankfully and yeah I was glad to get it done, one less thing to worry about:)

I keep planning stuff too but then a little voice says ooohh baby...haha guess we just have to go with the glow but bear it in mind :)

Peachycream · 09/06/2021 18:19

What do we all want? I know that everyone says they don’t care as long as it’s healthy, and that is true, but if I had the option to choose, I think I’d like a girl.

Twins would be ideal, one boy, one girl, out the way in one hit 😂

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 09/06/2021 17:56

@Peachycream I know what you mean.. saying that I’ve bought summer clothes like.. Oo I wonder if that’ll fit me next year 😂
