Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

@Peachycream thank you :) haha im a massive believer in fate so maybe who knows! Hopefully you made O, fingers crossed:)

Haha i know! Literally so much can alter our bodies it's crazy! Not worth worrying about although that's easier said than done!

@hrp1990 haha DTD a lot lol! We are having a bbq since weather is nice and seeing family, how about you? X

HRP1990 · 11/06/2021 18:18

@Peachycream I’m sure that’s a symptom, being put off my certain foods/drink and cravings! Got my fingers crossed for you!

Has anyone got any nice plans for the weekend? (Apart from all the DTD’ing haha)

I’m trying to cram in as much as I can to stop me testing 😬

Peachycream · 11/06/2021 15:29

@Aries491 sending baby dust back to you too and thank you 😊 although, it would be a freaking miracle for me this cycle as we would have been right on the arse end of O if we even made it at all.

Lucky you did the OPK then, maybe it’s meant to be. Good luck for over the weekend.

You’re right about the normal thing, there’s just no such thing as normal. There’s so many variables in the human body you can’t possibly say normal surely? Maybe average. But literally anything can throw you off, stress, illness, too much water, too little water, standing on one leg with one hand in the air and a finger on your nose 😂

@justwant2beamum that's good to hear, I'm so new to this I'm just not sure. If AF shows this month I will then have a good idea of how long it is but I have adjusted my apps to show positive ovulation today and they're now predicting a 30 day (flo) and 34 day (fitbit) cycle so we shall see. Of course ideally AF doesn't show and a BFP does instead but who knows :)
@Peachycream I think ignorance is bliss is the new attitude I am trying not to think too much on it and really did a opk out of curiosity this morning (kinda glad I did or I wouldn't have known!), just gonna make the most of the weekend lol and see what happens. Hopefully your symptoms aren't AF, keeping my fingers crossed for you and sending baby dust :)

Also with all this ttc stuff I'm thinking what is normal anyway tbh...women's bodies are miracle makers and confusing as hell!!

Xx

Peachycream · 11/06/2021 12:18

Also, forgot to add, my premom app says that a “normal” LP range is 11-17 days. I think I saw it in the Q&A section, if you have it in the cycle report bit it should tell you how long it thinks each phase of your cycle is and whether your in the “normal” range

Hi ladies,

I decided to put my phone down last night as wasn’t feeling great.

I’m not going to tag anyone (I remember what I want to say I just don’t remember which tag is which and I don’t wanna offend anyone and you can’t read back and not lose your message 🙈)

I get what you mean about the tracking and not doing it being stressful, I think I will probably feel that way too, but my problem is that for us OH and I are like ships in the night more often than not, he also works away at times and I think knowing when O was coming just floored me cause he wasn’t here until the last day (if I didn’t miss it) and there was nothing I could do about it. So in this situation I think ignorance is probably bliss for me cause if it happens again next month I think I’m going to full on break down 😂

How is everyone getting on? Has anyone tested yet?

I’m 6DPO today, still feeling gross, couldn’t even finish my coffee this morning which was an absolute outrage, cramping on and off but mostly a feeling of pressure? If that makes any sort of sense. I think it’s all usual AF on her way symptoms for me (apart from the coffee, I’m still upset about that now!) as 6DPO is way too early to know anything and as I’ve only just started tracking it could all just be usual and I’ve just never noticed it all before. The only AF symptoms I actually recognise for myself are sore boobs and occasional cramping.

Hopefully over the weekend/start of the week we will being seeing some BFPs! 🎉🎊✨

justwant2beamum · 11/06/2021 10:15

I wouldn't say 11-13 days is a short LP? I think mines is 12 x

Aries491 · 11/06/2021 09:22

@HRP1990 @PurpleCat88 fingers crossed for our BFPs :)

HRP1990 · 11/06/2021 08:58

I’ve seen people on here get BFP’s at 6DPO so I can’t see 10 being a problem @PurpleCat88 😘 it might lengthen as your cycles get back into a normal pattern after being on the pill

Aries491 · 11/06/2021 08:46

@purplecat88 I was on the pill yes and came off last August. Had 2 AFs in one month and then they settled to around 27 days for a bit but then shifted around so now I would say cycle wise I am 29-32 based on more recent tracking. I have seen it takes some time to settle after the pill so I guess we will see what happens and hopefully doesn't affect us. I will know based on when/if/hopefully not lol AF shows up this month. As I said I've only been using opks this month so first time tracking really, this could be the norm for me who even knows :)

PurpleCat88 · 11/06/2021 08:35

@Aries491 my luteal phase has been 10 days for the last 2 cycles Sad I came off the pill in November so hoping my cycle is still just settling down. Were you on the pill previously?

@HRP1990 There’s a couple of us with slightly shorter LPs then. Hopefully it doesn’t affect anything for us.

Aries491 · 11/06/2021 08:00

@HRP1990 I haven't tracked my LP properly yet this is the first month for me so depending on cycle length I'm not sure how long it is. Assumption would be 11-13 days, I did some googling and below 10 isn't "normal" as they say so fingers crossed ours is long enough for everything it needs to do. Bodies are so...frustrating!
Hopefully AF doesn't show for you lovely! When are you thinking of testing?

HRP1990 · 11/06/2021 07:56

My last cycle was 25 days, however this month I got a static on day 19! And my luteal phase is only 11 days so same as you @Aries491. This is such a long month for me. I would have been on day 4 of AF if I had last months cycle lol.

I’m 9DPO, AF due Monday 🙄

Aries491 · 11/06/2021 07:45

@HRP1990 just seen you tagged me, my phone hasn't been refreshing for some reason. Currently CD20 which i thought based on apps was 4ish dpo but this mornings static smiley has thrown a massive curve ball haha! I do vary in cycle length from 29 to 32 so possible I am just having a longer cycle so ovulated later than i thought, that or i have a short LP. BDing this weekend then!! How are you getting on in your cycle? Xx

Aries491 · 11/06/2021 06:57

@PurpleCat88 Yorkshire all the way definitely, nothing beats it:-)

On a weird note ladies I have just had a static smiley on my cb opk (?!) Thought I would give it another go since I didn't see one when testing when apps said I would ovulate. Currently CD20 so I suppose it is possible I have ovulated later this month, will DTD all weekend anyway to cover bases just concerned it means my luteal phase is only about 11-13 ish days based on my 29-32 day cycles I've had across the last 6 months, so hoping that doesn't affect me in anyway. Anyone else had short luteal phases? Xx

HRP1990 · 10/06/2021 22:48

It is stressful @Peachycream I agree. I’d like to take it easy next month and DTD every other day in the FW.. maybe😂 not sure I can commit to not using OPK’s encase I miss O for whatever reason!

It’s deffo worth logging it in an app. I have the Flo app aswell as the Premom app but with flo you can log your mood and symptoms?

I know it’s so low isn’t it!?

I can see why people need a break to be honest @Dannii892. Sometimes TTC just consumes me and it’s all I can think about, so a break from here is probably a good thing when you need to switch off!

SareBear87 · 10/06/2021 22:45

Not to depress anyone further but I read a stat about women in their 30's conceiving. Each month for me (aged 33) it's only 12% chance. So I figured statistically at least, I should catch within the year! Which made me feel a little better.
My friend put it this way (which made me chuckle), you have more chance of getting pregnant than winning the grand National 😂

Dannii892 · 10/06/2021 21:39

I keep thinking it's such a small chance so I agree prepare for a bfn and if you get a bfp all the better!
I think people have dropped off probably thought to have a break during their TWW.. im not strong enough lol I did think earlier I should leave this forum for a bit because I just get into a thread tunnel but erm.. here we are lol.
I'm going to test on the 20th I think will be 15dpo .. or should I wait for AF on the 23rd.. aaaahhh!

Peachycream · 10/06/2021 21:33

@HRP1990 I’m sending all the good vibes your way lovely 🥰

I’m really excited to see our first group BFP.

That’s a great way to think of it to be honest, if you just assume it’s negative then anything else can only be a bonus!

Not really no, I think it’s just one of those days to be honest. I’m not sure if it’s a cycle thing, it’s not something I’ve ever really noticed before but it could be worth noting to see if I feel like this again same time next month. This month has been a bit emotionally draining for me though to be honest, I’ve found all of the tracking quite stressful so I think once this cycle is over I won’t bother next month. I’m still using the cheapie OPKs now past O 😂

I’m glad you’re doing okay, 20% is that it? They could at least spring for a 50/50, I’d be happy even if it was 60/40 😂 I’m glad you’re keeping positive about it all though!

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 10/06/2021 21:22

Thanks @Peachycream send me all the positive vibes!!

I think if you think that you’re not in with a chance, it’s almost better because you’re preparing yourself for a negative, so when the BFP comes it’s like 🎉 that’s the way I like to think anyway. Then you’re not disappointed.

Is anything the matter to make you feel that way or that’s how you feel at this time in your cycle?

I feel okay. I’ve read that the chances every month of getting a positive is 20% so if I just think like the above I can just move on and get going with next month. Saying that I’ll probably have a cry, eat and cheese, down a g+t and tell myself to suck it up 😂

Peachycream · 10/06/2021 21:11

@HRP1990 @PurpleCat88 @Dannii892 I’m not sure what she did with her family, but I know with her friends when she was at the pub/out for meals that’s what she said, it’s probably easier to get away with when it’s friends that it is family.

Fingers crossed for you HRP and I hope you get your BFP 🎉 🎈 🎊

I’m currently 5DPO, I’ve felt waft all day to be honest but nothing that would be unusual for this point in my cycle, I always get exhausted a week or so before AF so I’m not expecting anything to come from this one. Generally just feeling down in myself to be honest so I guess that isn’t going to help anything.

How are you getting on? AF is getting close now (if she turns up) how you feeling? Xx

OP posts:
justwant2beamum · 10/06/2021 21:05

If I was going to family/a meal with DP I'd probably just say to him to have a beer and I would drive then I'd just be the driver. Also probably say I have work to do over the weekend so can't drink or need to drive somewhere early the next day or on a health kick xx 5dpo here think I'm due AF next fri xx

HRP1990 · 10/06/2021 21:02

I don’t think antibiotics would work with me either lol but good idea! Perhaps it would work on the first occasion lol. That’s a good idea though about ordering your own drink on apps when you’re out!

I’m hoping I can have a busy weekend and forgot about testing (unlikely🙄) my apps say AF is Mon/Tues so fingers crossed I’m not bless with a period and I can test then 😬

Where are you both in your cycle now? @Peachycream @Aries491

Peachycream · 10/06/2021 20:55

I’ve just been having a little squizz back through the thread as I wanted to remind myself of something. We have a lot of people that seem to have dropped off. I wonder if any of them have tested yet or how they are doing.

If you see this and you haven’t posted in a while, let us know how you’re getting on xx

OP posts:
PurpleCat88 · 10/06/2021 20:25

Yeah I don’t think the antibiotics trick would work with my family either - my sister would suss it out straight away. I’d probably tell her early on anyway
