Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking for a few days, just seeing what the deal is, trying to work out some of the terminology used, mostly going to post but then getting scared and carry on lurking haha.

I don’t really have anyone I can talk about the TTC journey with in my real life as we aren’t telling anyone as it stands so I’m hoping maybe I can make a few friends here that I can obsess and stress out with 🤣

I’m currently CD 7 in my first cycle so tracking with OPKs every day right now so that I can get a clearer picture of my cycle each month.

I’m 30 and this will be our 1st,

If anyone has any advice/is in a similar position to me or just wants a natter I’d love to hear from you 😊

Xx

@KayL1988 Apparently 8 weeks is standard at my surgery regardless of the covid situation, but partners still can’t come into appointments which I think is awful. It’s his journey too!

@Peachycream they asked how many weeks and I said I think I’m 4 + 2 but I guess that gets confirmed later on. That’s exactly it, I want my fuzzy chat haha!

@PurpleCat88 12 weeks is such a long time! That’s mad. I’m ok not having a scan til then (mainly cause I don’t fancy a TVUS and I think it has to be one of those until 10 weeks!) but I do have a tonne of questions that I’d like to ask. I’ll check out that book :) feel like having a huge reading pile is going to get me through this haha

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 12:00

Awh @glasspaw how annoying! Did you tell them how many weeks you think you are or did they just presume? You’d think for a first timer they would be a little more helpful and even if they don’t do bloods or a urine sample would at least get you in to have a “fuzzy chat”

Not sure where ‘multilevel’ came from! Think it was supposed to be ‘until’ 🧐

PurpleCat88 · 14/06/2021 11:53

@glasspaw where I live I can self refer online without going through the GP. I’ve heard of women not having their booking in appointment multilevel around the 12 week scan! Do you think you’ll get a private scan?

Maybe there’s a book you can buy to confirm what you can eat etc? I think Clemmie Hooper’s ‘How to Grow a Baby’ looks like a good one (and uk based). It’s a book I was eying up to buy when I get a BFP!

KayL1988 · 14/06/2021 11:48

Also @glasspaw do you think they are saying 4 weeks because of covid?

www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/finding-out/finding-out-you-are-pregnant/ ... NHS website says as soon as possible!

KayL1988 · 14/06/2021 11:46

Oh my god @glasspaw that is such a long time!!! And yes you'd think they'd arrange some sort of call.. I guess they just rely on people knowing what's best to do! I feel like that's going to make me a nervous wreck in itself!!

Women who don't know they are pregnant amaze me.. do they just think they are bloated?? And the babies kicks are just strong gas?? I understand women not finding out till a few months in when their bump pops, because 🧙‍♀️ can be so irregular... but a full 9 months??

glasspaw · 14/06/2021 11:39

So, I said I’d keep this thread updated, here is my daily WTF moment.

This probably won’t come as a surprise for anyone with kids already, but I notified my GP and I don’t actually see or speak to anyone about this for another FOUR WEEKS. That feels like an awfully long time for a first pregnancy. I’m trying to learn what I can/can’t do or eat or drink from the internet 😅 feels like a recipe for disaster.

I’m surprised there’s not some sort of early telephone consultation service that you can opt into just to ask those initial questions! I just assumed you’d see someone at around 6 weeks latest.

I guess maybe it’s because early pregnancy loss is so common? But surely helping people understand what they can do to prevent early loss would be useful right?

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 10:51

@HRP1990 I wondered this too, I have no idea about the bump though or where it hides but I do know that some women still have “periods” throughout pregnancy. I don’t think it’s hugely common, but it happens, I think I’ve actually seen someone have it on here somewhere.

I think it’s probably really difficult to tell because the symptoms can be exactly the same so I wouldn’t worry too much until she shows her face. Like you say, it could just be late implantation. Will you test again tomorrow if no AF or will you wait a few days?

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 14/06/2021 10:37

@Peachycream I don’t know how women have no idea they’re not pregnant, surely there are missed periods and a huge bump? Otherwise where is the baby hiding!

I thought I might be pregnant as I had a few symptoms but I’m sure loads of people think the same to then be a disappointed by a BFN! I had a few cramps this morning and now nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️ My boobs were hurting a few days ago and they were really veiny lol I’m just not looking into anything anymore it’s too confusing - Who knows!!

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 10:26

I’m not sure what’s worse @HRP1990 still waiting for the call back or being on hold 😂
Fingers crossed for you lovely 🥰 hopefully it’s just a bit early.
How are you doing with your BFN today though? Do you feel 🧙 at all?

I mean, I ask you this, wondering if really anyone ever feels any different at all? I’ve seen loads of articles recently about women having no idea they were even pregnant until a baby popped out on the loo/A&E and even more amazingly, while on a night out in a club 😂

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 14/06/2021 10:20

@KayL1988 that’s a good way to look at it! And like Peachy said it’ll keep you on track if you can’t test early.

@Peachycream same 😂 I’m currently on hold 🙄 lol (secretly hoping I've potentially implanted late but who knows. TTC is wild!)

Aries491 · 14/06/2021 10:15

Glad to hear @KayL1988 :) i am doing well too! Ah great some of us are cycle buddies, my cycles vary days wise (averaging at 31 currently) so if 31 days it'll be 22nd but 24th is the latest so gonna try hold out for then in terms of testing!
You got plenty planned for the TWW? I am just throwing myself into work and I'm doing a qualification at the mo so that should take my mind off things hopefully! Trying to be more relaxed and not google as much :) xx

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 10:12

100% @KayL1988 I’m currently still waiting for my call back 🤣
That’s good that the monitor won’t let you test though, hopefully that will help keep you away from it all! Fingers crossed for you 🥰

Good luck to you both @Aries491 with your TWW.

OP posts:
KayL1988 · 14/06/2021 10:08

@HRP1990 and @Peachycream it is exciting! Do you not feel like a TWW feels a bit like finding out if you've got a job offer? Feel like it's the same feeling 'I did everything I could possibly do... If I don't get it then it's not meant to be... they'll be another one'.
Yesss HRP get all the good food.. sounds perfect! I'm definitely keeping busy got lots planned and to do... now I've got the CB monitor it won't let me test for pregnancy until I'm due... so hopefully that will keep me on track!

@Aries491 I'm doing well.. how's you!? AF 🧙‍♀️ is due the 25th for me (so we are pretty much on the same cycle!). I think sarebear is too .. so they'll be a few of us on this TWW!!

Aries491 · 14/06/2021 08:46

Morning Ladies! Apologies I abandoned my phone over the weekend as saw some family and a bbq and a couple of drinks so was a relaxing one :)
I have seen a BFP on this though congrats @glasspaw that's amazing :-)

I haven't decided how I would tell him @HRP1990 not sure if we would do it together or if I would just do a few then wrap them up or leave on the bathroom cabinet and see if he notices 🤣

I am now 2dpo based on my static smiley on Friday (assuming ovulation was Saturday) and DTD Friday sat and Sunday so should have caught ovulation I hope!! AF due latest by 24th according to my apps and based on my funny cycle days so fingers crossed and baby dust.

How are you all doing? Xx

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 07:59

@glasspaw I’m not sure there’s enough to actually see anything but from what I’ve read there’s enough for a heartbeat xx

HRP1990 · 14/06/2021 07:53

Thanks girls!
@KayL1988 I’m going to get all the cheese, pate, wine and whatever else I couldn’t of had 😂

@KayL1988 1DPO is so exciting! Keep yourself busy for sure or I just found it drags!

Peachycream · 14/06/2021 07:51

Morning!

Awh no sorry @HRP1990 fingers crossed you aren’t in limbo for too long!

@KayL1988 that’s exciting! How are you feeling about your TWW

OP posts:
KayL1988 · 14/06/2021 07:25

Urgh @HRP1990 sorry to hear about the BFN.

If 🧙‍♀️ shows up... Do you have cheese/wine/other fun things to get you through?

@PurpleCat88 I'm 1DPO ... had two fans going in the bedroom 😂 it's honestly too warm to function!

PurpleCat88 · 14/06/2021 07:18

Aw no - sorry to hear that it’s BFN @HRP1990. Fingers still crossed for AF to stay away and a BFP in the next few days.

Haha yep the fan is on standby! 🙈

HRP1990 · 14/06/2021 06:56

Morning!

That’s exciting @PurpleCat88! Better get the fan out to DTD, it’s going to be a hot one today!

So I did a test this morning, BFN which is fine but no 🧙🏻‍♀️? I thought I’d wake up to one or the other!

PurpleCat88 · 14/06/2021 06:36

Morning ladies! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend☀️☀️ I’m just catching up on all the updates now.

Congrats @glasspaw!! 🤩🎉🎉 First BFP of the group!

Good luck @HRP1990 if you test this morning 🤞

CD19 for me snd I think my OPK are starting to get a bit darker so should be getting peak hopefully later today.

HRP1990 · 13/06/2021 21:02

Wow that’s actually crazy to think it’s only 2 weeks away and you can have a private scan @glasspaw!

@Peachycream London was good, full of England fans and hot as hell! I’m up 630/7 so I’ll do one first thing 😬😬🤞🏻

@GingerTea333 pin him down as much as you can before he goes away encase you Ov early!

glasspaw · 13/06/2021 20:57

6 weeks is only 2 weeks out for me 😱 I hadn’t even considered that I could book a private scan @Peachycream mad that there would be enough baby to see at that point!

Peachycream · 13/06/2021 20:46

No train pee then @HRP1990? 🤣 well I’ll be waiting to hear from you tomorrow on your result, let’s hope this is a lucky thread for us all!

Yeah that’s what I had seen on there too, I’ll get a box tomorrow while I’m out maybe? I don’t know 🙈 haha.

How was London?

@glasspaw Awh that sounds nice, hopefully it’ll all be done soon so you can relax with it all for a bit.

Yeah that’s what I mean? No one tells you what they had to do before they announce. I’ve seen some people on here book private 6 week scans, which I think I would probably do cause my anxiety just wouldn’t let me wait for 12!

@GingerTea333 to be honest with you, I’m not really worried about this month, I know from our timings it would be a miracle if we made it, I’m not counting myself 100% out because I’m not mentally prepared to do that yet 😂 but at least 95%

Oh no, that’s the trouble isn’t it when they work away and dates/work conflicts, it just makes the whole process that big harder!
