Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@GlassLily it was just a small black circle nothing exciting to report but it was in the right place so it's all good so far! Got more bloods tomorrow so hopefully they'll have doubled Grin I have 2 weeks off now too so plenty of relaxing. Feeling positive now instead of worrying constantly, the reassurance has been wonderful.

GlassLily · 12/11/2021 22:32

@gezelligheid oh that's wonderful news! So glad everything is as it should be. I had my first scan at 6+5 so I can't say much about 5+3. I did lots of googling many months ago, and from memory I think at 5+3 it's important that you should not expect them to detect a heartbeat. I think it does happen for some people, but I think from around 6 weeks is when they're likely to be able to detect it. So do not panic if the heartbeat is not detected, it doesn't mean there's a problem. As you say they are just checking the foetal pole is in your uterus and nowhere else.

Otherwise, at 6+5 I could see a fairly clear picture of a small black emptiness (the middle of my uterus) with a little blob attached to one wall of the uterus, which is the foetal pole. Other than the shape and position, it wouldn't have been distinguishable from the wall of the uterus. The picture was my absolute most treasured possession and I think she looks like a teeny tiny little baby on the scan pic, but I think to other people it just looks like a blob... I had to circle the bit that was the baby when I showed my ffamily! Let us know how you got on Smile

The nausea hit hard today too. Felt like I was on a boat in choppy waters this morning in bed. Enjoying every second of it though Smile

gezelligheid · 11/11/2021 20:28

I had my bloods done today and they're the right levels for gestation so that's good, just gotta have repeats done on Saturday! :)

Also I'm going for a transvaginal scan tomorrow as instructed by the doctor and I will be 5+3. What should I expect to see, if anything? The scan is just to make sure implantation happened in the uterus rather than in the fallopian tube like last time.

LS2020 · 10/11/2021 14:36

@gezelligheid yes off with the Fitbit and give yourself a break! Hope you’re resting up A important to get loads of sleep in early stages 😊

gezelligheid · 10/11/2021 07:10

Fitbit removed, I'm having repeat bloods today and Friday, and I just did another test and it's a dye stealer. Gonna try to relax now. Removing the fitbit was the best thing I could have done I think!

gezelligheid · 09/11/2021 08:50

I've looked online and even looked back at @Kona84 charts to give me hope lol. No cramps, no bleeding, tests still strong. Taking the fitbit off cos it's driving me crazy Sad

GlassLily · 09/11/2021 08:28

@gezelligheid that's scary, hope you are doing ok. Mine dropped 2bpm in 1 day at 17DPO. It went back up the next day, and every time it went up 2 it would go down 1, so was an emotional rollercoaster. Hopefully yours is just a normal fluctuation like that and it'll be ok🤞🏻 your tests sound promising, so don't lost hope just yet! Come on little blastocyst, hold on tight 🤞🏻🤞🏻

gezelligheid · 09/11/2021 07:10

RHR has dropped, test still positive but I'm so anxious :( with my last pregnancy the same thing happened and ended up in a loss.

CD 25 today after first AF after baby. Going to try tracking my cycle using Fitbit and another app. This is my graph so far! No idea where I’m at 🤣

@LS2020 glad to hear you are doing good. Brilliant that you are starting to feel better ☺️. Ahh lovely to have a little popping going on 😍. We are all ok thank you. Baby is 10 weeks now! Can’t believe it! Absolute mayhem having a toddler and a baby 🤣.

gezelligheid · 07/11/2021 15:51

@GlassLily thank you so much :) cramps are gone now. I'm hoping once I get to 12 weeks I will relax a bit more!

GlassLily · 07/11/2021 11:40

@gezelligheid so sorry about your ectopic! Your lines are looking great. Have the cramps continued? I think some people get them for quite a while. It's so hard not to worry isn't it. If you find mantras helpful, I found this one at the start of this pregnancy: "different egg, different sperm, different pregnancy - different outcome"

Ultimately there is more chance of you coming out of this with a live baby than any other outcome Smile so while plenty could go wrong, there's a better chance that it will be ok.

LS2020 · 07/11/2021 08:52

@gezelligheid it’s so tough and it doesn’t get any easier if I’m honest, this weeks actually felt worse because we’ve now announced and you can’t take that back. Which is ridiculous because I’ve never been this far pregnant so why should anything still be wrong!

Looks fab! Remember HCG only doubles every 48 hours so don’t worry if day to day doesn’t look to have overly moved as they get darker. I stopped FRER once I went darker than control and then just used digitals once a week 😊

gezelligheid · 07/11/2021 08:46

Thank you for the reassurance @LS2020 Smile I'm just so worried because I want this baby so much, yknow?

I did more tests (frer this time) to see line progression. Top is today, bottom yesterday. Looking okay?

LS2020 · 07/11/2021 08:43

I don’t think my graph helps as not a lot of pregnancy data but hopefully assures doesn’t need to be massively high. The pink peak is two days before BFP, it dropped two days before I got mine and it upset me so I took it off as was feeling super positive.
The yellow was after my 6 week scan and things were ok so I put back on, unfortunately that’s the time placenta starts to kick in so you get a drop but it freaked me out so I took off but can see not loads higher.
Then green is my last week since my 12 week scan, just sat between 61-63 really, not doing a lot! But as I said, it’s only on the high end of my normal cycle, not specially high x

LS2020 · 07/11/2021 08:38

@gezelligheid yeah the second I decided it was stressing me out I’ve been taking it straight off and putting it away for points and I relaxed so much. You got to think there’s only so much the hormones are going to impact, you’re going to hit your top RHR eventually. Also you still get influenced by fact it’s weekend so you’ve slept longer, more likely to have gone into a deeper sleep etc. I found watching line progression and then doing the weekly digitals helped me the most as I could see something tangible moving on

gezelligheid · 07/11/2021 08:05

So it's normal not to rise every day? It's plateaued again so I've been at 69 for 3 days now. Thinking I might just take it off cos the worry isn't gonna help Blush

LS2020 · 07/11/2021 07:43

@gezelligheid It’s hard but I wouldn’t overly worry on the RHR. I took mine off because it was flat and dropping as I was waiting on my test result and it stressed me out but everything was absolutely fine. Even now at 13 weeks, I was expecting my RHR to be loads higher and it’s just not. I’m like at my high end of where Pre AF would be and still have the normal drops when I’ve had a big sleep at weekend and not a stressful time at work etc.
also again had loads of cramps as everything insides moved - totally normal. Blood is the main thing to look out for!

@mumof23188 im good thanks, I swear I have the longest/slowest pregnancy ever but my stomachs proper popped out now and still a bit unwell but so much better and a lot less tired. Feels ages til 20 weeks scan! How are you all getting on?

gezelligheid · 06/11/2021 23:34

@GlassLily my last pregnancy was ectopic unfortunately in September 2020 so I'm just being hyper vigilant I think! Blush

GlassLily · 06/11/2021 23:26

@gezelligheid and as for when you should be concerned - if you're just getting cramps and or spotting, don't worry. Keep hydrated and take care of yourself.

If you start getting contractions/flow of red blood then that's a concern for the pregnancy outcome. Most importantly, watch out for ectopic symptoms like severe/sharp pain in your abdomen or shoulder - very unlikely, but can be life threatening, so important to see a doctor immediately if that happens.

GlassLily · 06/11/2021 23:17

@Juno231 how are you doing?

GlassLily · 06/11/2021 23:16

@gezelligheid I had period cramps about 13-15DPO. I drank lots and lots of water and got plenty of rest to try and ease them. I was terrified and in bits as that sort of cramp was the beginning of the end for 2 of my previous pregnancies. But after a couple of days the cramps got better instead of worse, and went away, and all was fine Smile

Lots of pregnant women get cramps at that stage so I think it is just a normal pregnancy symptom and not a predictor of anything sinister. Rest up and look after yourself!

mumof23188 · 06/11/2021 16:13

@LS2020 how are you lovely? It will go so quickly! Time literally flys! Glad you had a lovely holiday.

@gezelligheid amazing!! Huge congratulations to you ☺️. Period cramps are really normal! Also I got my BFP in early January and my HR didn’t really rise much at all until March.

gezelligheid · 06/11/2021 10:58

RHR has stayed the same as yesterday today. Is that normal? I thought it would just keep rising tbh
