Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

Hey @Beunique. Was your positive opk on 2 Dec at 81bpm? When are you due your AF?

Beunique · 14/12/2021 07:47

Hi everyone I've been ttc for 2 years and I've been using my Fitbit for a year consistently to track my cycle this is the first month the readings look promising. I had a positive opk 2nd December and I think I implanted where it's dipped Grin

@EveryMumDay what fabulous news! Yes always funny how when you “relax” between treatments it seems to happen for some people so glad you’re one of them ❤️ Sometimes maybe it’s just getting your body in line with mind too!

@Juno231 mine took loads longer than I expected on the FRER but digitals helped with that a bit as they ended up showing more movement for me. When you’re so far on, try give it two days between each test to give enough time and also makes the time go quicker in those early weeks!

@LarasMama hope you’re feeling better soon x

@Juno231, thank you, definitely a miracle and shocker. I had to have a gap between first and second IVF as the hospital labs closes for 2 weeks in December for deep clean so egg collection wouldn't have been possible. So thought I'd monitor my ovulation in natural cycle and didn't get a peak when I thought I would so thought I wouldn't ovulate, and dh and I were much more relaxed this time round. Maybe that helped not sure but very surprised and hopefully it sticks.

@popcorndiva so glad to hear everything went well for you during labour.

It's lovely hearing stories, it brings great comfort to me.

popcorndiva · 12/12/2021 18:01

Thanks everyone. Yes my birth went as well as it could, I.e I managed to avoid a c section this time and didn't need to be induced.

Wishing everyone on this thread luck, I got my bfp 17/11/20 so you will all have similar age babies next Christmas to me currently and if anyone needs any nub guesses I am pretty good at it now

Juno231 · 12/12/2021 17:53

@EveryMumDay what the heck! A natural bfp in between IVF rounds? Another little miracle! Congrats ♥️.

@popcorndiva oh my goodness she's adorable ♥️. Are you well? Did the birth go okay?

@LarasMama well done on staying team green. - I'd love to but I don't think I would have the self discipline and I know OH is dying to know. I think we'll be doing nipt next month so will know at 11 weeks I think!

I had my dye stealer today although I must admit I was expecting to get it a few days back but oh well. 5 weeks tomorrow so will be out of CP territory at least 🤞

@LarasMama thank you. I've had 2 very different graphs for bfp, one last August on medication and now after failed IVF. It just shows what the IVF injections and medication can do to your body and heart rate.

I'm glad you're recovering. It must be awful going through this. Hopefully, it will clear out soon. Please do rest as much as you can.

EveryMumDay · 12/12/2021 17:46

@popcorndiva your little baby girl is ever so cute 🥰 wish you all the best and enjoy motherhood 😘

LarasMama · 12/12/2021 17:45

@EveryMumDay Congratulations 🥰🙏🏻This goes to show that RHR may not increase for everyone as fast.

Thanks everyone! ❤️🙏🏻I'm feeling okish, no fever, feeling a bit weak and still have no sense of smell. My RHR seems to be normalizing. Today is 5dpo and Covid Day 7.

Hi.....Just an update from me. I got my bfp today morning after I felt very out of place, i.e. stomach cramps, slight headache, body was aching so I thought test and the positives came up straight away on all 4 different tests. BPM has increased by 1bpm since yesterday too.

Thank you @LS2020, you seemed to have sprinkled some magic dust and become my lucky charm 🥰

Crossing fingers🤞🏼 and praying hard 🙏🏼 it's my sticky bean 🌈

LS2020 · 12/12/2021 10:16

@EveryMumDay well I hope whichever way it is, it’s good news in that you have a positive test or, as I always found, peeing on a test meant AF would show within the day and it means you can get started on the next cycle. How many follicles did you have on your last scan before EC?
Could you maybe ask to be a later trigger time so that even though you’ll be later surgery in the day, they might be able to get you in if scan shows you close in the morning?

@popcorndiva what a lovely update and picture 🥰 glad to hear you’re all doing well and enjoying your newborn bubble

popcorndiva · 12/12/2021 09:11

Just popped on here as was on here last year .....my bfp is now a 18 week old little girl and I am over the moon for you @Juno231 you helped so much in the past and I have my fingers crossed everything works

EveryMumDay · 12/12/2021 09:03

@Juno231 congratulations (sorry just read the thread). I hope you feeling ok now. Definitely, do not tell the midwifes just yet. I think you don't need to tell them until weeks 6-8 and when you do, they will send you the booking appointment straightaway with the 11-13 weeks scan appointment too. It's awful that they would reset it to wait 2yrs again. Fingers crossed for you.

@LarasMama, hope you are getting better. How do you feel now? Fingers crossed for you.

EveryMumDay · 12/12/2021 08:58

@LS2020 thank you so much for responding. I did carry in testing after 28 November until 2 December. My 2nd cycle of IVF will be whenever my period comes and I'll have the same triggers as I was on the highest dose (extremely low amh). Only change will be that on egg collection day before being sedated, they will do a scan to see if I'm still ok and not ovulated. I agreed, the week after egg collection is the most toughest part was waiting for the results. On the 5th day we were supposed to go for egg transfer and got the call in the morning not to come as egg didn't progress since day 3. I'll see if AF shows up today and if it doesn't I'll brave to take a test.

Hope you are doing well and nice that your team green :) During my first pregnancy 6 yrs ago, we didn't find out and it made labour some how barrable. Keep eating watermelon and rest with legs elevated at heart level :)

LS2020 · 12/12/2021 08:04

@EveryMumDay also sorry to hear about IVF cycle, it’s incredibly tough. We started off with one fertilised egg also and it remains the worst week of my life. Hopefully for the next cycle they’ll be able to adjust your trigger. There was a woman in the cubicle next to me on egg collection who didn’t realise on her trigger she was supposed to mix the solution in and basically gave herself a saline shot and she’d lost the round and don’t think I’ll forget her sobs, it’s was heartbreaking. I really hope you’re taking care of yourself and everything goes better for your next round ❤️

LS2020 · 12/12/2021 07:59

@Juno231 that is really frustrating especially as what you’re supposed to wait another two years again?! Hopefully everything will be perfect for you 😊 are you digital weeks testing?
I know it’s flown by but also dragged! We are staying team green as we don’t have a preference either way so want something to keep us going through labour!

@EveryMumDay it’s a difficult one because you’ll have been on a lot of hormones on previous cycle and I was told on IVF it can take a while for cycles after to reset. Did you continue testing after 28th to check you didn’t get a second peak? It kinda depends on what your body does - my RHR was always a bit erratic post O so if it was my chart I would wonder if I didn’t ovulate to about a week later than the 28th

EveryMumDay · 11/12/2021 22:40

Hi All.

I would like to say many congratulations to all the ladies who have just got there bfp and to all who are progressing well into their trimester. To all the ladies who are waiting for their bfp, keep strong and you will have your bundle of joy soon. This TTC journey is not easy and brings so many stress, anxiety, etc that just going through it all shows how much stronger you truly are ❤️

Sorry to jump in, but need your advice/insight before I go mad!!

I should have come on my periods today but AF never showed. My resting heart rate is not too great, as in giving away any hints. From the picture attached, I got my peak on Sunday 28 November, and the heart rate has not increased too much but goes up and down. Today, it's stayed the same as yesterday with the same BPM as it was during peak.

What should I make of this?

I'm too scared to test, as already gone through 2 MMC and last month failed IVF, as in my only one egg collected (apparently I ovulated earlier and they ended up with only one egg which was mature) never made it to day 5.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

@LarasMama how are you feeling?

@ls2020 18 weeks already! Will you be finding out what you're having or will you be team green? And yeah I think a lot of CCGs reset the clock if you get pregnant as it obviously means you can do it yourself potentially🤷

RHR went up again today - kinda intrigued to see how high it can go lol. Poor Fitbit thinks I spent 8,5 h in the exercise zone when really I was just existing with a high heart rate.

@LarasMama also hope you feel better c

LS2020 · 11/12/2021 07:51

@Juno231 how lovely 🥰 wow that’s thought on CCG, my CP didn’t make any difference I don’t think to my treatment, though I lost before the initial consultant appointment so not sure if that’s different. Your midwife won’t see you til about 8-9 weeks anyway so wouldn’t worry on getting in with them, they’ll sort you out quick.
I’m doing well, 18 and a half weeks now which is crazy, definitely going a bit faster which is fine. Starting to feel my first kicks I think too which is exciting!

@LarasMama I’ve just been on a thread where someone got covid in TWW for IVF and they’ve got a BFP so wouldn’t worry on that, problem is your RHR will be all over so I wouldn’t rely on it either way!!

LarasMama · 10/12/2021 13:52

LarasMama · 10/12/2021 13:50

@Juno231 Wow your chart looks great! Keeping my fingers crossed! ❤️🙏🏻

I tested positive for covid yesterday 2dpo. I really don't know what this means for this cycle. What are my chances for conception? I think I did ovulate Tuesday 🤷🏻‍♀️
My symptoms are mild, 37 - 38 C, light cough, but no sense of smell and taste. 😩 Since I started feeling unwell on Monday I'm hoping I won't feel much worse, as it must be at least day 5 of covid.

Juno231 · 10/12/2021 07:46

Thank you ladies!! @mumof23188 @GlassLily @LS2020 @larasmama I still can't believe it :)

Symptoms wise it's primarily been sore boobs and rhr tbh! My nose is definitely dryer and I keep sneezing/blowing blood. My digestive system is suffering a bit too but nothing dramatic. I just really hope I get to keep this bean ♥️

I haven't cancelled any of my IVF appointments as I'm worried it's too soon in case I have a CP/MC. As a consequence I'm not really able to do a midwife self referral for a while either in case I lose it and it then shows in my medical records 😬. That would mean I wouldn't be eligible for NHS IVF for another 2 years.

@ls2020 how are you doing? How many weeks are you now?

@larasmama I was so ill all TWW so don't count yourself out just yet! How are you feeling now?

Attaching chart, I'm 18 dpo.
