Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@GlassLily ah so sorry I've just read your comment! That's so lovely to hear, congratulations!!! I hope you and bub are both doing well 🥰

Everything has been fine so far (saw a heartbeat at 8 week scan) and now 9.5 weeks so fingers crossed this little bean continues to keep growing. My RHR chart is just like you said, a bit all over the place! I'm not letting it stress me out now!!

I did scroll through and found the chart that @Kona84 posted in her first trimester and was very comforted that she had similar dips around the same time ☺️

@Nyxxie welcome and best of luck!!

GlassLily · 28/02/2022 05:47

@kona84 @ls2020 thank you! Xx

Nyxxie · 26/02/2022 11:32

Actually scratch that, it has been elevated since the day of ovulation and am now 3DPO!

Nyxxie · 26/02/2022 11:30

Hi all, hope you don't mind me hopping on this thread. Have been having a read and found it really interesting!

I'm cycle 1 TTC and have found my RHR has been elevating since the day before ovulation. Only 2 DPO now but will be interesting to see what happens.

Rainbowbaby13 · 22/02/2022 09:15

@kona it started going down and then my period arrived no luck this month

LS2020 · 21/02/2022 20:17

@GlassLily ahhh congratulations ❤️ Hope you are both doing well xx

Kona84 · 20/02/2022 11:47

@GlassLily congratulations

GlassLily · 20/02/2022 09:52

@bfnancy how are you getting on? My rhr took a nose dive starting about 5w and bottomed out about 8w at my normal post-ov rhr. All was ok - my newborn is cuddled up on me as we speak! Really hope yours was a normal dip. Beyond that initial rhr increase, all sorts of crazy things happen. Fingers crossed yours is ok too.

Kona84 · 19/02/2022 17:18

Hope everyone is well and everyone’s pregnancies are going smoothly.

Kona84 · 19/02/2022 17:18

@Rainbowbaby13 that looks very promising.
Mine just kept rising then would have a few up and down days

Rainbowbaby13 · 14/02/2022 20:27

Obviously it can't start rising but should it plateau or start going back down 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rainbowbaby13 · 13/02/2022 15:16

Hi I just came across this chat and wondered what you think of my chart my ovulation day is highlighted yellow.

I've had a read through and it's fascinating

Thanks for your help

@kitty1993 @Juno231

Thanks for your replies. I don’t know if it was clear but I was joking when I said about RHR at 1dpo. I knew it was too early I just get fixated when TTC. My last two miscarriages were sharp RHR inclines jumping about 15bpm in 10 days. By pregnancy with my daughter was more gradual so it depends on the pregnancy I guess.

The following cycle didn’t result in a pregnancy so I took my watch off and stopped thinking about RHR. I also didn’t track anything and basically gave up all hope. Found out last week I’m pregnant. 5 weeks tomorrow 😊 I’m debating putting the watch back on but I’m not sure I want the stress.

Mushrooms0up · 08/02/2022 10:47

@bfnancy thank you! I think that makes sense and as it’s my first cycle tracking I’ll keep an eye on it this month.

Best of luck with your pregnancy - no words of wisdom but keeping everything crossed for you

bfnancy · 08/02/2022 10:37

@Mushrooms0up sorry I forgot to reply to this, based on your chart I would have said it could have been either day, but I think based on the max length of your luteal phase (which I think can be 16 days at the very most) it does seem more likely you ovulated around the 19th.

I'm having a bit of a mare this week. I'm 6 weeks + 4 and I've just made it past the point that I miscarried in my last pregnancy, but my RHR has taken a huge dive. I still have some symptoms although they are not as strong as they have been in the last week. I know I probably need to take off my fitbit but I am just so worried about losing this pregnancy too.

Attaching my chart from fitbit - I will scrawl through the thread and see if it compares to any other's, but if anyone has similar experience please do let me know.

Hi! I hope you don’t mind me joining - I was directed here from the main board.

I’ve just started tracking and my cycle started 1 Jan - 2 feb. Based on the attached, does it seem likely I ovulated on the 19th? (Just before second peak).

I initially thought it was the 14th (dip of 68) but that seems to early for a period on 2 feb?

Thanks!!

GlassLily · 30/01/2022 12:25

@unCliche ah ok. That all sounds promising for your IUI! good luck, hopefully that will do the trick 🙂

unCliche · 29/01/2022 13:30

@bfnancy Thanks lovely. I think the reason behind my high temps and RHR last cycle was because of acupuncture. My acupuncturists goal was to increase blood flow and warm up my body and I think she did so brilliantly! 😆😆

@GlassLily I don't think that is the case as I've never had a BFP. I even got a BFN at 10DPO. The only time I've come close to one was when I had a stupid evap back in April and that cycle I was given progesterone to try out but I started bleeding on it anyway.

It must have been horrible having confirmed back to back chemicals but I'm happy to hear that things finally worked out beautifully for you. Congrats on your upcoming journey into motherhood.

I'm doing a fully medicated IUI. I started on letrozole yesterday, then I'll trigger using ovitrelle then finally use progesterone pessaries x3 a day in my LP. I'm doing the IUI mainly for the medication as I think most of my issues are likely hormonal. The insemination itself will just be a boost to hopefully make it happen quicker! Let's hope it works! If not then IVF is a few months away 🙃

GlassLily · 29/01/2022 05:08

@unCliche sorry to hear AF is here. I also have a 9-10 day LP. As @bfnancy said, it could be that implantation went wrong and the lil blastocyst didn't manage to stick properly. I think that is what happened for me - I had 3 CPs about a year ago.

My first cp I felt exactly like you - all the signs are there, but I can't possibly be pregnant - I even stopped taking some of my tablets because I thought they were causing my body to troll me.
When the same thing happened the following month, I tested and it was positive. Then followed by a mc the next day. All the symptoms were blow for blow what had happened the previous month.

I ended up on vitamin C, B complex, progesterone pessaries, all to try and give my body that little bit extra time for implantation. I'm now 9 months pregnant and about to pop!

Will you be taking progesterone as part of your IUI?

bfnancy · 28/01/2022 17:56

@unCliche I'm so sorry this wasn't the month for you, I know how horribly hard it is when you've been waiting such a long time :(

We've chatted on this thread before that some months it does feel like SOMETHING happened (or so it seems on your RHR chart) - like perhaps a little egg did get fertilised but it just didn't implant, hence the rise. Sending hugs x

unCliche · 26/01/2022 09:43

Hey @bfnancy. Thanks for checking in. As predicted, AF is coming. My BBT is still up but my RHR is on its way down. Plus I started spotting this morning. I may have ovulated CD16 so I'm probably not actually late. IUI next cycle so I have that to look forward to 😊

How are you getting on @unCliche ? I'm guessing if you have a short luteal phase you might know either way by now??

unCliche · 23/01/2022 21:22

@bfnancy unfortunately I won't be that lucky. No covid, no booster, only acupuncture. And my luteal phase is 10 days so let's see what happens over the next few days 😬 I'm starting to get a bit crampy so I'm not holding my breath.

bfnancy · 23/01/2022 20:16

@unCliche that does sound like quite a big jump! So, apart from pregnancy, the only other time mine really jumped was when I was poorly and got my COVID booster all in the same month. Have you just had your booster or is there any chance your body is fighting an infection?

Hopefully though (and I understand if you've gotten to the point where you don't want to let yourself hope because the disappointment every month is so hard) this could totally be a sign of good BFP things to come...!

unCliche · 23/01/2022 12:21

Hey ladies, just looking for some insight into the difference in bpm between your ov temp and your peak temp. Usually for me, my peak RHR is about 4 to 6 points higher than my ovulation RHR. This cycle things have gone a bit crazy and my current RHR is 11 points higher (75bpm) than when I ovulated (64bpm). I don't think I'm pregnant, because I never am (cycle 19 😪) , but I'm just thinking maybe my body is reacting to my hormones differently this cycle. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
