Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@mumof23188 I believe we meet with a nurse who sets us up for it all and then we start the following cycle. Feels like it’s hitting me now! I think I’m deffo too optimistic and a bit underprepared but deciding to go in innocent so I don’t obsess about

mumof23188 · 07/06/2021 19:30

@LS2020 that is absolutely fantastic news. I’m so happy for you. What’s the first step? Thank you my lovely. It was such a nice break ☺️

LS2020 · 07/06/2021 18:38

@mumof23188 so glad to hear you’ve had some rest and taking care of your little one.. some TLC is always needed!

LS2020 · 07/06/2021 18:38

@mumof23188 appointment was fab - been referred and hope to start in next couple of weeks!!

mumof23188 · 07/06/2021 17:32

@Juno231 damn I’m sorry AF arrived!! Hope you are ok!

@LS2020 how did your appointment go today? Ahhh annoying for the weird cycle but you never know 🤞. Hope all is well.

@GlassLily lovely dye stealer there ☺️

@ArBird hi, welcome! Yes definitely can have a dip at implantation. Doesn’t always happen tho. I had a little dip on mine, only by a couple of beats. I do find that RHR and BBT really do correlate nicely.

Sorry I dropped off the face of the earth. We went away and I made sure I was phoneless! Was a nice break xxxx

ArBird · 06/06/2021 11:46

Hey everyone, I hope I can jump in on this! I've recently discovered the RHR link and have been tracking mine along with my BBT.

I'm 6dpo today and my resting rate has dropped to 67, although it's still early in the morning.
Do others find that their RHR drops just before implantation? or drops then rises again?

GlassLily · 06/06/2021 11:29

Oh and I took a CB Digi today - I know they are awful and I've read so much about them being inaccurate, so I was wary about using it.... but I had one left over so thought I'd give it a go and got 3+! So I'm going to stop testing now Grin

GlassLily · 06/06/2021 10:59

(Just to be clear, the drinking I'm talking about was before I got pregnant..!)

GlassLily · 06/06/2021 10:58

@LS2020 that's exciting! All sounds very promising. Keep us updated!

I wouldn't mind this first bit going a bit quicker! So nervous for the scan, but staying optimistic. I live overseas so not nhs. Having a due date of next year makes it all seem so impossibly far away.

Yes my rhr would stay up for days after drinking, so annoying that it messes with tracking!

LS2020 · 06/06/2021 08:27

@Kona84 possibly! I’ve only had it once before I think. It’s very strange to feel nothing though, 2 days out!

@GlassLily no I don’t really bother tracking O because it was always day 13 so stopped when my sticks ran out. I think Ive had this one other time and that’s it. I didn’t really get loads of white CM and then not getting sore boobs from the progesterone is making me think nothing happened. Although weirdly actually, I got the smallest bit of blood around O day which I did take as an ovulation bleed but maybe was something else.
Yes I can imagine, you’ll soon be rattling through the weeks though once you have your scan! Is that NHS or your own one?

Can’t trust my RHR as I went out drinking with friends yesterday so shot up now 😂

GlassLily · 05/06/2021 12:40

@LS2020 that's interesting, did you do OPKs? Do you often have anovulatory cycles? I agree that a weird cycle could be a good sign! Fx for you.

Thanks Smile I'm 21DPO now and going well! It's going bloody slowly but so happy to have made it to this point. I'm on constant knicker watch! Early scan is booked in for week after next.

Kona84 · 05/06/2021 08:28

@LS2020 no pms symptoms might be a good thing.
Good luck.

LS2020 · 05/06/2021 07:08

@Juno231 sorry AF showed. If it helps, Im having the most boring RHR month ever. I’ve gone up to 57 (tho from today’s chart no clue how it’s even got that, it seems to barely average 56!) and my same day last cycle was the peak at 60 😂 maybe I’m just very zen?!
I also have no symptoms, I usually get bad boob pain about 7dpo and barely anything this cycle so assume I didn’t actually ovulate.

@GlassLily what a beautiful dye stealing test ❤️ Hope you’re doing well x

@Juno231 😩 I really feel for you. You've got some real grit going through 19 cycles! I was on 13 and losing my mind. I really hope it comes soon for you, at this rate you deserve triplets or something, to make up for the long wait 😂 seriously though I hope you are doing ok, that's so incredibly tough ❤️

Juno231 · 02/06/2021 11:57

@GlassLily no worries! Got FW starting next Thurs again so it feels like a right merry-go round.

@Juno231 oh yes sorry forgot you were into the next cycle now! That's mad how the vaccine messes with people's cycles 😮

Juno231 · 02/06/2021 11:11

@GlassLily I think the jab didn't affect it too badly! It was roughly in line with my LP levels anyway. Now that I'm CD3 it's just dropping day by day - currently on 70 but expect to be in the lower 60s next week again.

@EveryMumDay yeah the jab is meant to really affect cycles! I think it's why I had one random big bleed at 10DPO. There's even reports of post menopausal women bleeding because of it.

Thank you @juno231 ☺️ I'm so excited and also really nervous. I still can't believe it's real. I agree that B vitamins should extend and not shorten, but only in the right combination so maybe your shorter LP is something else @everymumday?

Juno how is your RHR looking now, did it stay up or was it just the jab?

EveryMumDay · 02/06/2021 11:05

@Juno231 yep had the Pfizer jab so could be because of that too for the short luteal phase. Hopefully, this month something positive happens.

Juno231 · 02/06/2021 09:40

@EveryMumDay I've always heard the opposite for B vitamins - ie that they extend the LP. Did you have the jab or anything though, that could be affecting your cycle.

@GlassLily what a beautiful dye stealer! I'm so happy for you Grin

OP posts:
GlassLily · 02/06/2021 07:22

@EveryMumDay Ah ok, now I always get mixed up on which way around it is, but I think it's the B12 than lengthens your LP, but you need the B6 to make the B12 work properly, or something? So I didn't think B6 on its own would affect your LP.

(It could be the other way around though!)

EveryMumDay · 02/06/2021 07:10

Sorry I'm losing the plot. Its not B10 but B6 100mg vitamin tablets I'm taking. Was expecting my luteal phase to be slightly longer this month but sadly not. Whenever I do get the fertility appointment, private or NHS, hope they can provide something and end the mystery of what the course is.

Oh that line is very strong at 18DPO :) love seeing BFP's.

GlassLily · 01/06/2021 22:38

Yes I had to get a prescription for the progesterone from a fertility specialist. I don't know about B10, I've only heard you need B12 and B6 for short LP.

I did another test to reassure myself - just a cheapie, 18DPO Smile

EveryMumDay · 01/06/2021 22:35

@GlassLily congratulations and thank you for the information. Hope your pregnancy is going well. It gives me hope that it is possible. I'm sorry you had to go through 3 CPs :(

Apologies, how and where did you get the progesterone supplements? Was it through doctors prescription?

Not sure if I should stop taking B10 vitamin tablets, as previously I would have a solid 12 days from peak and period would start on the 13th after peak.

GlassLily · 01/06/2021 22:27

@NJOBX thank you, it's back up again so maybe it's ok!

Welcome @everymumday, I have a short LP (about 10 days) and took B complex and vit C to extend (to 11-12 days) and then later got progesterone supplements which got it up to 13 days. Now 5.5 weeks pregnant. But I understand it is absolutely possible to conceive with a 10 day LP but it perhaps is a bit tougher because of you have a late implantation it may not stick. I had 3 CPs so I assume the short LP contributed to them.
