Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@LS2020 yes you enjoy abusing your body! When’s your first appointment? Hope you are doing well xx

@GlassLily yes around week 6ish I had low HR.

I’m ill with a chest infection and my HR is a lot higher. Hope everyone is well xxx

@Juno231 thanks! I am mid week 6 so need to bear it in mind... I thought it was 7 weeks but then that sounds really early, too early for the placenta. But I guess the first drop is just your body getting used to it

Juno231 · 15/06/2021 11:16

@GlassLily seemed to be week 7 for most of the ladies on here but I think we had the odd drops in week 6 as well? I know the placenta kicks into existence in week 8 so I'd expect a drop then too.

Ladies, I've been looking back through old threads but we've been chatting on for such a long time now I can't find what I'm looking for! Does anyone remember what week of pregnancy your rhr starts to drop? I know there have been a million posts but I can't remember now 🤦‍♀️

EveryMumDay · 14/06/2021 11:19

Thank you ladies. Wasn't expecting peak at CD 15 (Saturday 12 June), as it always come around CD 12. Rhr did increase by 1 yesterday (Sunday 13 June).

Definitely agree, the rhr does mess with me a lot that it drives me mad Grin

justwant2beamum · 14/06/2021 10:01

Hm I'm cd25 now I've never had a longer cycle before but I didn't keep testing with opks and I didn't keep DTD. Oh well

Juno231 · 14/06/2021 09:58

@EveryMumDay so it's normal for RHR to be at it's lowest during the follicular phase. It then goes up either for ovulation or after ovulation (depending on the lady) and stays high in the LP. It usually drops for AF so you get a bit of a heads up. It seems to stay high/go even higher for BFPs but sometimes it's just messing with you Grin

@ls2020 sorry AF showed in the end! let us know when the IVF shenanigans start. Any idea if they're putting you on long or short protocol?

@justwant2beamum I agree with @GlassLily - you might just ovulate late this cycle so carry on BD

@justwant2beamum what CD are you? My last cycle I thought I hadn't ovulated, it went a bit dark but never peaked, then went light again. I kept testing and suddenly got a peak at the end of CD19. Maybe you're just having a long cycle?

Well after my rhr last month tricking me by going highest it ever has since my BFP and following exact same pattern as my BFP month, this month it appears to be doing nothing. Should be 8dpo based on opks and I did get a fairly dark OPK that I think was a peak but from rhr I think I maybe didn't even ovulate. So will be another month Bfn, again.

EveryMumDay · 12/06/2021 15:05

Sorry ladies, could I ask you if it's normal to get a dip in rhr during peak in ovulation? My rhr has been dipping ever since CD 5 and today CD 15 got my peak fmu. After this, should it always increase and stay above peak ovulation? Thank you Smile

LS2020 · 11/06/2021 15:53

@mumof23188 Tbf I didn’t think I was at all, was very confusing so glad it’s sorted and kinda nice to know I can have a month now of abusing my body to hopefully get started on with IVF 🤞🏻

mumof23188 · 11/06/2021 11:48

@LS2020 I’m so sorry lovely. That’s just utter shit. I totally understand what you mean. It must be so hard for you. It was like a last chance before IVF. Look after yourself 😘

LS2020 · 11/06/2021 07:29

@mumof23188 not needed in the end, it showed as I was running out the door to work 😂
Feel weirder than normal about, almost more impatient for IVF and annoyed I have to wait a month now for appointment

mumof23188 · 11/06/2021 06:41

@LS2020 it hurts so much doesn’t it! Ah frustrating, do you have any cheapies? Anymore cramping today?

LS2020 · 11/06/2021 06:10

So I had some bad cramping last night and my RHR dropped 1bpm so assumed AF was on its way but still nothing. Qtip test is clean too. Very odd as barely ever late. I just don’t feel anything so don’t want to bother testing 😂

LS2020 · 10/06/2021 19:34

@Juno231 such a random one right?! But yeah arm has been the worst. Was worried I was fevering this morning but seem okay now 🤞🏻
This is from the website and similar to what consultant said so really hope we don’t have to wait longer than 5 weeks now

Juno231 · 10/06/2021 13:56

@ls2020 I got moderna too! I ended up really ill for 12h but on the second night - meanwhile OH only ever had the sore arm. I know what you mean about the timelines, I was expecting an appointment in July for the funding application but got this random June one instead.

The word I was looking for there was sicky not sucky 🤣

LS2020 · 10/06/2021 13:12

@mumof23188 if it’s up tomorrow I might as I will deffo be late tomorrow especially for my cycle length. I just don’t feel anything though this cycle. Felt a bit nauseous this morning but assume it’s the jab. My arm is still killing. Worried I was having a fever this am as went very hot, sweaty and sucky but seem to be picking up now!

@Juno231 I had the moderna which I forgot was even an option 😂 ahh hope you can move on with soon. Tbh I have no clue, I’ve seen in the leaflet about needing to do one but we spoke to head consultant on Monday and he was just pretty much like ‘yeah you get 3 rounds on nhs and then it’s £400 a year to store after 3 years’ and that’s all he said. Then when we confirmed referral, he implied it would be about 4-5 weeks we’d be contacted by a nurse to do the timetable so maybe they’re doing now? We signed a load of HEFA documents etc when we got sent to clinic so maybe we already signed what we needed to?!
Tbf our timeframes are all over the place as they said late July for consultant and we had one last week 🤷‍♀️

Juno231 · 10/06/2021 10:09

@ls2020 ha I got mine at 7dpo and that really messed with my head too! From an RHR point of view I mean. My arm was super sore as well. Which one did you get? I'm excited for your IVF ball rolling - I've got my next appt on the 17th and am hoping that will be us doing the funding application :). How long did you have to wait to get funding and then get IVF started? Being in London I'm thinking I might not get started until the end of the year potentially!

mumof23188 · 10/06/2021 10:06

@LS2020 ah so strange it’s changed! 🤞🤞🤞 fingers crossed for you that you can get started ASAP. 😱😱 god that’s irritating that’s it’s risen, just looked back on mine and I had a rise after mine but mines up and down so hard to say if it was the jab! My arm was so painful too after my jab for a good 24 hours then it started easing off. Will you test??

LS2020 · 10/06/2021 04:33

Do not get a vaccine a day before AF is due.. look at that jump 😂 as a side note my blooming arm is killing me!!!

LS2020 · 09/06/2021 20:05

@mumof23188 I agree! Well I thought AF was due today but the trackers changed my dates by 2 days for some reason so still two days to go. Have been so PMSy this month so feels like it’s absolutely dragged. Hoping it’s just one more cycle and then the next will be ivf 🤞🏻

mumof23188 · 09/06/2021 12:33

@LS2020 wow that’s amazing. I’m so glad you don’t have to wait either, you’ve been waiting long enough. I think you are going in to it with the right attitude ☺️. Please keep me updated lovely. Where are you at in your cycle now?
