Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@LS2020 yes, I find poas a chore no longer excites me 🤭

My rhr has stated the same for 3 days. So, the 4bpm increased on Saturday and it's stated the same Sunday and yesterday. Today (CD 22 and 11 days after getting a peak), waiting for the reading to populate, as I've been moving around a lot.

Oh very lucky if you got to take both at night. It's much easier. Definitely, get the applicator, as I've ordered it so should be coming through the post soon. Plus, using the applicator is hygienic and avoid any infections.

There may be some tiny bits left over in the morning when you go pee but majority of it will get absorbed during the night. It just needs to filter into your blood stream.

If you're taking 2 at night, are each dose 200mg or 400mg? If 200mg, then it might be easier to get the 400mg tablet so you only insert once at night rather than inserting 2 tablets together at night.

LS2020 · 10/08/2021 08:33

@EveryMumDay I’m exactly the same. Gave up poas a longgg time ago 😂 how’s the RHR?

I think mine are both at night so seems easy enough. Hmm might get one of those applicators though as would make a lot easier! I’ve seen you can do the bum but wasn’t sure if the waxy left over bits would be a worse feeling or that you’d poop out!

@LS2020 thank you for the insight. I was amazed to see the big jump as it's very unexpected and confused me.

Definitely, not getting excited about it, as being on cycle 11 after MMC I've just given up on poas. I'll only test as per my private consultant advice on CD 28 Monday 16 and CD 30 Wednesday 18 August, if periods do not show up. I'm tired poas and seeing bfn :'(

The pessaries tablets are not too bad. I take only one in the evening, so I put on a panty liner on, as the tablet does seep through. It's wax feeling and as soon as it goes in it begins to melt due to body heat. So it's advisable to lie down 30 mins after inserting but taking before bed it's easier. You can use your fingers to insert it or you can buy an applicator like you get for canesten applicator. Whatever makes your comfortable, use that approach.

If you need to take it both times, try to keep 12 hrs gap (do ask for advice from doctor), morning dose you can put in vagina and a panty liner on then lie down 30mins OR if comfortable put in anal (bum) and no panty liner required. Evening you can put the dose in vagina with panty liner on then go straight to bed, if you out the first dose via bum. I myself haven't got the confidence to put it in bum, so I put on the panty liner.

If you plan to have sex, then advised to have it before you insert the tablet and wash yourself after sex then put in the tablet. Tablet should be the last thing inserted into vagina, nothing after.

I wish you all the best for next week. It's one step closer to supporting through TTC, that gives some sort of peace in mind.

Look forward to seeing everyone's update and thank you all for sharing 😊

LS2020 · 08/08/2021 09:35

@EveryMumDay also as a side note how do you find those pessaries? I’m going to be having two of the 400s every day from next week and feel like I’m going to be stuffed like a bubble gum machine!

LS2020 · 08/08/2021 09:34

@EveryMumDay I believe it is progesterone which makes the HR increase (which is why pg women see it increase continuously whereas it falls for people with AF approaching as the stopping of progesterone triggers your lining to shed). 6 days post O is usually the earliest for implantation but before then isn’t fully impossible and 4bpm is a huge increase. It’s definitely all sounds good but you might need a few more days of patience to see if worth testing ☺️

Hi Ladies.

Hope you are all keeping well. Thank you for sharing your updates, it's given me comfort through this TTC process.

Wondering if any of you could shed light to my query?

Is it normal for rhr to increase after 8 days of getting a peak, while being on cyclogest pessary 400mg tablet once every evening before bed?

Since getting a peak, only had one drop in rhr by 1bpm and that evening took first dose of the cyclogest pessary 400mg tablet (CD 14 3 days after getting peak) then it has always risen by 1bpm everyday except today it shot up by 4bpm. Is this normal?

Timelines so far:
CD 11 Friday 30 July 10pm = Peak on clearblue ovulation 4 days earlier (purple sticks).

CD 12 Saturday 31 July 8.30am = Peak on clearblue fertility monitor.
CD 12 Saturday 31 July 10am = Transvaginal scan all looked good.
CD 12 Saturday 31 July 12.30pm = Ovitrelle injection 250mg 0.5ml.

CD 14 Monday 2 August = 1 BPM dropped, 3 days after getting peak.
CD 14 Monday 2 August = Started taking one cyclogest pessary 400mg tablet vaginal evening before bed.

CD 19 Saturday 7 August (Today) = 4 BPM increased since yesterday. Checked Fitbit mid afternoon it was 1 BPM dropped and then 6pm went up to 4 BPM since yesterday reading.

Thank you :)

LS2020 · 06/08/2021 21:13

@Juno231 yeah honestly there’s always something delaying it and waiting lists are bit insane so I wouldn’t worry too much on it coming around too quickly. Good luck for the new job!
Yeah it’s the most common one so think I’m stuck with 😩 had my covid jab too and feeling sorry for myself. I got OH to inject me. Honestly don’t think I’d do it to myself. Tbf I wasn’t sure I could watch and I have been so that’s the best I’ll get I think!

Thanks @mumof23188 second injection down ☺️

mumof23188 · 06/08/2021 09:52

@LS2020 amazing!! So happy you’ve been able to get started. I also want to hear all about it ☺️. So excited!!!

@Juno231 brilliant that you’ve filled out the paperwork. Ahh wow, congrats on the new job. When do you start?

@gezelligheid sorry to hear AF showed.

Juno231 · 06/08/2021 07:02

@LS2020 yes it's to apply for funding. I've had the paperwork for a month now but I'm in the process of changing jobs so I'm dragging my feet as I don't want the ivf to start too soon 😅. It says that once approved I have to start treatment within 6 months so I'm glad there seems to be a bit of leeway.

I hear headaches are a common side effect so I'm sure it's the injection! Did you object yourself or did you have OH do it?

LS2020 · 06/08/2021 06:30

@Juno231 how exciting! Shoot away on any questions you have ☺️ Is that for your funding etc?

Not a lot to update on, have a bit of a cracking headache which would be a side effect or the fact it’s was month end finish yesterday and was working about 13 hours!

Juno231 · 05/08/2021 21:35

@LS2020 I'm so excited for you!! I wanna hear all about it 😁.

I've filled out all the ivf paperwork finally, the plan is to send it off on Monday :)

LS2020 · 05/08/2021 21:22

@gezelligheid sorry to hear AF arriving. Never had that issue with Fitbit is it still in warranty?

Well I am one injection down ☺️

gezelligheid · 05/08/2021 08:31

Hey guys, so yesterday my fitbit died and now won't charge. Its the fitbit sense - has anyone had this issue?

Also, rhr dropped another bpm yesterday and last night I started spotting. This morning I've got some brown blood so I'm expecting AF to come fully today

LS2020 · 05/08/2021 07:40

Ffs just wrote a huge message and lost it 😂

Af showed yesterday so that means I start jabs today yay! First scan will be next Friday to see if I’m ready for egg retrieval which feels insane.

@Juno231 stims are Meriofert and suppression is Fyremadel - they turned up about 3 weeks ago actually before we even had our viral tests done. We have watched the videos and ready to go.

@gezelligheid in all my manic googling on RHR I have seen some charts that don’t rise til 16dpo so you have time ☺️

@mumof23188 oh gosh will that be your first one on your own?

@GlassLily oh I’m so pleased for you!! What’s your first big splurge?

GlassLily · 04/08/2021 23:03

@ls2020 thank you!! I bought a cute onesie, but haven't bought anything else. I've had my 12w scan now and everything was good! No sign of any problems. I'm in disbelief, but really starting to get into the mindset of this actually ending with a baby in February Shock so I am going to start looking at baby stuff soon. I just can't believe it's happening. What's your August looking like for IVF, what happens when?

@gezelligheid for this pregnancy, mine only went up. For my first pregnancy it went up then dropped, but that ended in mc at 4.5 weeks. However I don't know if the drop was necessarily because it was going wrong, it could have been unrelated as it dropped quite a few days before bleeding started. If I were you, I would try not to read everything into the rhr. When I had that drop, I didn't know I was pregnant. I stopped taking one of my tablets because I assumed the drop meant I wasn't pregnant. Later I wondered if I had caused the mc by stopping the tablets. I had got into a really negative mindset and felt I was just being trolled by my body. So I would recommend, hard as it is, trying not to second guess and just going with the flow! Speaking of flow.... Did AF turn up?

mumof23188 · 04/08/2021 18:22

@LS2020 fingers crossed 🤞. Do you have to wait for AF to show before you can get started? Can imagine it just feels so surreal for you. Yes I can imagine that once you get started it will just become almost normal. Thinking of you 🥰.

Haa well baby definitely needs some clothes so need to get some sleepsuits and vests. Then I must pack a hospital bag! I’ve just got this feeling I will give birth alone because my OH works away a lot of the time. I don’t actually mind but it’s just the thought of it 😅.

@Juno231 glad you are all good 😌. That’s brilliant. God I bet it does after so many months of focusing on it. Enjoy all the BD 👍.

@gezelligheid how are you getting on? Any sign of AF? I’ll have a look at my graph and see what mine did.

gezelligheid · 03/08/2021 10:34

I'm back, still not pregnant. Took a break from wearing my fitbit for a few weeks but charged it up and put it on again a week or so ago.

AF was due yesterday and my RHR has gone right down but still no other signs of AF. I have been peeing so much though, like even waking up in the night to pee and I never do that. I have done it every night for the last 3 nights too.

Has anyone had a BFP from a rhr chart that goes down instead of rises? Or am I definitely out?

Juno231 · 03/08/2021 09:32

@mumof23188 all good, focusing on losing weight atm so I am fighting fit for fertility treatments end of this year. BD without TTC in mind feels super weird though!

@LS2020 I'm so excited for you! Have meds arrived? Do you know what meds you'll be on?

OP posts:
LS2020 · 02/08/2021 20:28

@mumof23188 I know!!! RHR has dropped and face has broken out so really hoping it’s not long now! 😬
I am mostly still nervous but think once I start injections it’ll feel better.
Hahah what’s top of your list to get sorted?

mumof23188 · 02/08/2021 13:49

@Juno231 how are you doing? Hope everything is ok. Still no bag packed here haha. Not even purchased anything either 😅.

@LS2020 it’s AUGUST!!!! Wahooo!!! How are you feeling? Excited/nervous? I know right, I’m so last minute. Still not even got anything! I’m going to pull my finger out and crack on as want it all done by 37 weeks. I’d say that’s a really good idea! Not that I’ve ever done it 🤣. So for a newborn it’s usually size 1! Then when they start feeling fuller as they’re pees are bigger you just go up a size or when they feel tighter on them. You go through so many in the early days 😅

LS2020 · 23/07/2021 16:51

@mumof23188 it does feel like it’s dragging but I know in my head it’s not, less than two weeks now!!
Omg can’t believe you packed your bag in labour, I have half of my bag planned and I’m not even pregnant 😂😂😂
A friend suggested getting nappies while pregnant in the weekly shop so it’s not as big a purchase at the time, could you recommend that? How do you know what nappies size they need or like?!

@Juno231 I’ve put it all back on now since weigh in Monday but going to keep on with when I get back! Even nurse said how well i’d done so pleased to put effort in. I’m on a short one so will be tested by 4th September which is madness!

@MotherOfShihTzus congratulations! How many days after transfer are you now?

@GlassLily so so glad you made it to 12 weeks, what a relief that must be. Are you spoiling yourself with something nice? ☺️

GlassLily · 22/07/2021 23:06

@Juno231 due 4th Feb so I'm 12 weeks today! Got a scan next week 🤞🏻 absolutely can't believe I've made it this far.
I used to think my body was just broken but now I have so much hope! Next week I'm going into the second trimester. Down to 2% mc risk which I think is as low as it gets, so that's pretty brilliant! I can't wait until you're all knocked up too with rhrs flying all over the place 🥰

@LS2020 thank you! Yes it's like a rollercoaster at the moment but just going with the flow 🙂

Juno231 · 21/07/2021 18:21

@MotherOfShihTzus oh wow congrats on finally getting your bfp! That's one heck of a rise in your RHR isn't it. BTW I love shih tzus - had one for 17 years!
