Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

Btw, the spike was when I caught a cold 😇

LarasMama · 07/01/2023 07:14

Hi guys, how’s everyone doing? I’m nearly 36 weeks with my little boy and I’ve noticed my RHR going down by several bpm. Same thing happened with my daughter but much later during the pregnancy right when she was due. Has anyone noticed something similar happening? Really curious as contractions have started earlier this time. See pictures, first one is my daughter with date of birth 21.03.2019 and 2nd one is my son. 🙏🏻🥰

Hello

I know this is a bit of an old thread but hoping someone will see. I've heard your resting heart rate can indicate pregnancy and this month my heart rates a bit weird. Ots been increasing everyday for the past 5days , today it has gone down one. Period due in 5 days. Does this just mean my period is on its way? Not entirely sure when ovulation was.

Sorry for the multiple attachments, my fitbit now shows and 'average' over the month instead of individual days. First day of last period was the 8th September.

@Selmamalte 9dpo is very early, the could be doing a dip for implantation and then rise again.
I'd wait until 11dpo and test again but tentative congratulations

Selmamalte · 07/07/2022 09:14

I just got vvfl on 4 tests. I'm 9 dpo. This is my chart, I'm getting a little nervous. What do you think?

calimc83 · 01/07/2022 22:17

@BlondePotter is that not the implantation dip where it's flattened out?

BlondePotter · 01/07/2022 21:18

@calimc83 last time I had a clear implantation dip and then it rose steadily about 6/7 points before my bfp

calimc83 · 01/07/2022 21:06

@BlondePotter congratulations on your BFP..I'm an absolute beginner when it comes to checking RHR. I think I can see when I ovulated..( which is like your pic when u marked it) but what's supposed to happen to RHR after you ovulate? Mines going up ever so gradually..some days it's stayed the same though? Is that Normal? X

BlondePotter · 01/07/2022 15:25

Hmm my rhr isn't doing what it did last time I got a bfp, so I was shocked to see this this morning! Highlighted what I think O day was but no rise yet 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not been on here in ages! So glad to see thisbthread is still going and how many of the long timers are pregnant! Hope everyone is well x

Nyxxie · 28/06/2022 15:53

Glad to see some mention on here about RHR dropping in pregnancy as I needed some reassurance! My RHR has been 59bpm for the last few days, which just seems too low? I'm currently 9+2 and a little worried

LarasMama · 26/06/2022 15:40

@Juno231 I’ll try to book a scan for next week. I’ll be 7w+ by then. The dreaded RHR drop has shown and honestly freaked me out a bit. I remembered you said that it happens to most women, right? I’ll keep an eye on it. Sure it’ll go up again.

@Kona84 I would have loved to not have a big age gap (ours will be 4 years), but we were so overwhelmed by it all that we waited until we felt truly ready. Although fertility is really individual 40 is when it starts declining rapidly. We were really lucky. 🙏🏻

I think if we were to have a second baby I would be waiting until my daughter is 2.5/ 3 to start trying this would mean I would be 40/41 so @LarasMama its good to know it’s worked out for you

Kona84 · 24/06/2022 10:19

Oh wow @LarasMama congratulations.

6 weeks already @LS2020 i remember starting to feel a little bit normal around that time- like coming though the hormonal haze and getting a bit more sleep.
still tough though and always questioning if what I was doing was right.

my little girl is 8 months now- she has two bottom teeth and one top.
she is trying to crawl and can sit her self up from her belly.
she is on the go all day.

at 5 months she started waking up hourly at 7 months I was just about surviving with the hourly wakes and was looking for causes- ended up at a tongue tie clinic having private consultation as it was the only thing that made sense.
she always had a shallow latch- lots of wind and pain when feeding. But it improved with age and laid back feeding.
anyway she had a tongue tie- we had it released on the 11th June and after a few days she started sleeping 4hr stretches again- I feel like a new woman.
im glad I trusted my instincts that something wasn’t right.

BlondePotter · 23/06/2022 22:31

Aw just seen this thread is still going 😀 @Juno231 I'm so pleased to see you're so pregnant!!
and congratulations @LarasMama and @LS2020
I'm just starting to try for no 2 after having my daughter in May 2021 - think I'm 3dpo but nothing of note on my rhr yet

Juno231 · 23/06/2022 12:46

@LarasMama tbh I wouldn't have booked a scan that early as it usually can't show much and causes more worries than reassurance! I think I'd wait until at least 7 weeks just to make sure - my first one was at 8 weeks though as xmas got in the way from memory.

@ls2020 yes I'm in that awkward final stage where time drags and I can't decide whether I want it all over with so I can see my baby or just enjoy the freedom I have left! Amazing that you have healed well and although it sounds tough it also sounds like you and baby are coping well which is great <3 So pleased for you!

@Juno231 it's really not long now! Enjoy your last few weeks of pregnancy, you weirdly miss it when baby is here!

We have good and bad days, it’s indescribable how full on it all is and we feel incredibly lucky because he’s such a “good” baby and this feels hard enough. Hes been a clingy one this week and with my OH at work, it’s deffo felt tougher but he’s also responsive smiling and that has made this week worth it!
Recovery was good, I was horribly neglectful of my needs the first month he was born - be selfish is the best tip I could give you, but I fortunately faired quite well despite that. Had an episiotomy and 2nd degree tear which all seems to have healed but the expert midwives sets were amazing, along with disposable undies!!

best of luck for your labour ❤️

Here’s the scan

LarasMama · 17/06/2022 13:50

@Juno231 Thank you, dear. I think I’m now 5w4d. Had a scan today, but we couldn’t see the baby or the heartbeat. I know it’s early and my gyno wasn’t too concerned. But somehow I am. When did you first see/hear baby?

90 - wow! I think mine was around 75 in my 3rd trimester last time. This pregnancy seems to be quite similar in terms of RHR at the moment. No drop yet.

Juno231 · 15/06/2022 13:18

@LarasMama your chart is looking great and congrats on the 3+! A lot of us had dropping bpm around the 7 week mark so remember not to panic if your RHR starts dropping.

As a random piece of RHR info - mine is at 90 nowadays! Was in the lower 60s when I wasn't pregnant so it's quite a change.

@LS2020 yes 32 tomorrow even! Can't wait to meet her. I can't believe yours is 6 weeks old already! How are you coping? Has recovery been okay?

Wow! 6 weeks! How exciting. 😍
I have my first scan on Friday. Hopefully I‘ll get to hear a heartbeat. I should be 6ish/7 weeks then.

Also I couldn’t help myself and test again 😍

And what do you think of my RHR. Seems to hahe leveled out a bit. Will probably only increase towards the 2nd trimester as it did with DD

Congratulations @LarasMama ❤️

@Juno231 31 weeks already?! Hope your pregnancy is going well x

my little one is nearly 6 weeks old and can’t believe how time is flying - hope you’re all doing well!

Thank you @mumof23188 ❤️🙏🏻

mumof23188 · 09/06/2022 11:14

Oh my gosh huge congratulations @LarasMama 😍

LarasMama · 09/06/2022 08:20

@Juno231 Wow, 31 weeks! How exciting. I’m so happy for you! Boy or girl?

Honestly, whenever my RHR drops a bit, I get worried. But I just go back to my chart when I was pregnant with Lara and so far it all coincides 🙏🏻😇
