May 2021 TTC Bus :-) Thread 2

So I’m currently CD33 (I have had longer cycles ever since a mc this time last year and have been assured that it’s my new ‘normal’). It’s my first month officially testing alongside ttc as I normally just loosely track my periods for my own peace of mind. I’ve had flashing smiley faces on CB advanced ovulation tests since day 11 and as you can see I’m not really making any progress. Days 20 and 32 are slightly darker but from what I’ve seen of other peoples tests still nowhere near dark enough. It’s starting to worry me that I’m just not going to ovulate Anyone have any advice or had a similar experience?

@Fiep when AF comes I read old wives tales and work out what I'm going to do differently this cycle to try and make it "the one". This month has been all about the grapefruit juice .

I'm still getting positive OPKs after 2 days, bit confused but just going to keep DTD and hoping. We've BD on CD 9,11-14 and I think I'm going to have to persuade DH that it's worth adding on tonight as well so we've done each of the CB peak days. Doesn't help that our toddler's got a rotten cold so isn't sleeping well - poor guy is knackered and I keep expecting him to perform .

@amyannx I have my booking appointment on Sunday! It's just a phone call though due to covid. Then my chosen hospital will be in touch for blood tests and to arrange my 12 week scan. Xx

@fiep I was disappointed this month too (and last month..this cycle in June will be the 3rd cycle from our mmc) but honestly I give myself a day to be upset, have a wee cry then try to be happy that AF has came so we can start trying sooner 😅 it really is a rollercoaster! Retail therapy definitely helps too 😂

@Fiep I’m so happy that “mum jeans” are back in fashion! They’re so comfy. I bought myself a pair and it’s bliss 😁

(I still have flashbacks to the awful discomfort of low-rise denim as a teen/ young adult in the early naughties - with a thong peeking out the top and a PERMANENT wedgie! definitely won’t be going back to those styles!)

So exciting to hear about the BFPs :)
I’m trying very hard not to symptom spot. Only 7dpo so not much point.

I have decided that if it turns out I’m not pregnant this cycle, I’m going to splurge on some new summer trousers. I’m intrigued by the 90s baggy style- looks comfy!

So at least I’d have some positive side effect alongside the disappointment. Retail therapy!

What do others do to manage their disappointment when it’s not worked out during a cycle?

@amyannx Yeah I don't blame you, not too much longer to wait! We're going on holiday when I'd be roughly 11 weeks, and we're going with partners family.. We wouldn't usually tell anyone until our 12 week scan but I think it's going to be hard to keep secret so we're thinking of maybe having another private scan the morning that we go just to make sure everything is okay and then we would feel more comfortable telling them.
Just want to get this scan done next week though first and really hoping all is okay 🤞🏻 xx

@Confused678866 I think we will wait for our 12 week (if I can!) but may book one depends if I get my 12 week scan on the early side of 11-12 weeks or 13 weeks, but I don't want to book and become obsessed lol x

@Sam8582 Hey, yeah my cycles were fairly short for the last 3/4 months of trying. Shortest ones I had were 22 days 2 months in a row and then I think it changed to 25 and then the following cycle I got my BFP.

@amyannx I'm glad you feel more reassured now! Oh how lovely, it's nice to finally get a due date isn't it. Yeah mine changed last time from private scan to 12 week scan but at least you know it's roughly around then!
Yeah I'm really wanting scan day to hurry up and get here now and I'm just keeping everything crossed 🤞🏻 I will let you know ☺️
Yeah I will just keep chasing for my appointment, I sent my forms nearly 4 weeks ago! Xx

I’m 6 dpo and already fed up with the TWW- it really sucks doesn’t it?! Lol.
I’ve already decided to FRER on 9dpo despite knowing it’s a bad idea

13DPO here, lots of cramping today so sure AF is on its way .. just waiting really! Still no urge to test as just don’t have that pregnant feeling

Oh yes I remember you having that hun :) thank you, I think it's def af though. Oh well, means ge is not too far away! I think it was @Confused678866 on the last thread who reassured me with her story of shorter cycles and then getting her bfp so I shall keep the faith haha xx
