After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

POI and Hashimotos are linked, but POI is still very rare. Hopefully you'll get some answers at your scan. Since talking to other people with POI, I've heard of examples of people getting pregnant naturally, with an AMH of less than 1. Being young helps, which you are. My AMH is much lower and I'm a good bit older, which is why IVF with my own eggs is very unlikely to work. I have the same chance of getting pregnant naturally, which is around 5%.

Moocher90 · 07/07/2021 21:17

@WhirlingD my AMH was 3.3 pmol/l and should be between 4.1 and 58 pmol/l. I’m 31 in September but obviously concerned it’s quite low for my age and could mean early menopause for me. I also have Hashimotos and underactive thyroid.

My FSH hasn’t been tested in a while but my last bloods it was within range.
I am going for a private fertility assessment on Friday which involves bloods being taken and then in a few weeks a hycosy and DH is having a SA done and we should get results back on the day of my hycosy of the tests and his SA. I might have to go private whilst I wait for my nhs referral. I hope the private fertility clinic write a letter to the go with the findings if they are concerned about my ovarian reserve. We have no kids so I’m so upset at the thought I might never be a mum

WhirlingD · 07/07/2021 20:20

@Moocher90 what was your exact AMH result? I've just been diagnosed with premature ovarian insufficiency and mine with 0.36. Off the scale. My AMH was 70. I have a private appointment booked for end of July and amazingly my NHS referral seems to have come through also! My DP has children so I will have to self fund IVF. I have almost no chance of conceiving with my own eggs so I'm going to go straight to DEIVF. I'm ok with it. My genes are shitty anyhow. Loads of autoimmune problems which is probably why my ovaries have failed at 38!!! At least this way I can hopefully still be a mum. Fingers crossed there's nothing wrong with my uterus. I've had 1 period in 7 months since coming off the pill.

ChinChilly · 07/07/2021 18:37

@Moocher90 sorry to hear about your test results.

@MissM94 great news about your scans and tests being clear.

I'm actually considering putting a complaint in against my GP surgery, I feel so let down by them. I mentioned I was worried about my TSH and being pregnant, I mentioned the NICE guidelines and that UHB quite clearly states
TSH should not be over 2.5 during pregnancy but my TSH while I was pregnant and they knew I was pregnant has just been marked as no further action. I was never given the official results of the scan I had before I found out I was pregnant, and now I'm having to chase them up for a sick note for work. I feel like there has been no care and I haven't been listened to from the start. Maybe I'm just looking for someone or something to blame but bloody hell I feel so angry at them at the minute.

MissM94 · 07/07/2021 18:10

Hi girls, my scan came back clear.. the sonography lady was expecting to find some cysts but luckily for me there wasn't anything there & blood test is clear so just have to put it possibly down to the vaccine.. so you can imagine how surprised I was that AF turned up yesterday while I was at work 😂😂😂 all that rubbing of my ovaries must of shocked the bitch into working hahahaha so as of now (when AF fucks off) me and DP are officially TTC and are no longer pulling out 🙌🏽🙌🏽 so excited to be properly on this journey with you all now! Finally part of the big girls club 😅♥️

MissM94 · 07/07/2021 18:01

@Trying4one congratulations, she's beautiful 😍

TheDaydreamBelievers · 07/07/2021 16:05

@Moocher90 I'd just triple check that it's definitely fertility gynaecology. I'm being referred to gynaecology because of no ovulation but because a year + of TTC hasnt passed they will only refer to generic gynaecology.

Moocher90 · 07/07/2021 15:35

@Juno231

So looking at my previous day 3 bloods on the nhs app they appear to be ok, however I haven’t had any for a while.

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 15:15

@Moocher90 gosh just realised I missed several words off in my last message lol. It was 2,5 months between referral and appointment. I'm not sure how much of that was luck though as originally the referral was sent through in Nov with an appointment for the 17th of May but then they must have had a cancellation and sent me a new time for 11th of Feb. With low AMH they go straight to IVF without waiting for the 2-3 year mark. Do you know what your FSH is?

Moocher90 · 07/07/2021 14:32

@Juno231 I really hope the referral is quick but nhs wait times are ridiculous. How long did you wait after GP referred you?

Atleast privately I will have all the tests I need so when the nhs referral catches up they will already have all the results they need to progress it. If I have a low AMH I’m not really sure what I can be offered.

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 14:10

@Moocher90 good good - I couldn't remember what it was off the back of. Okay well they will test your AMH as well so hopefully you can appointment really soon.

Moocher90 · 07/07/2021 13:45

@Juno231
Well it’s defo to do with my lack of ovulation. So I can assume it’s a fertility referral.

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 13:42

@moocher90 hm and are you sure the gynecology referral is a fertility one?

Moocher90 · 07/07/2021 13:35

@Juno231
I can’t find anything on my local ccg about AMH levels required.
So I spoke to the reception team and they said my referral would go to gynaecology this week.

I’m having private bloods done on Friday though but I may ask there about my results and whether they could get a latter to my GP to hurry along my referral.

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 13:14

@Moocher90 also check your local CCG policy? No point waiting ages for the NHS if they have a minimum AMH requirement. I swear mine says 5.4.

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 13:14

@moocher90 oof where are you at with fertility referral stuff? Call your GP and get a referral off the back of this as I would be worried about premature ovarian failure. For reference my one was 26.6 with LGC and when the fertility clinic redid it it was 21.3.

Moocher90 · 07/07/2021 12:38

Ladies anyone have an ovarian reserve test and what the result was. I did an online one with LetsGetChecked and it can out lower then I was expecting. I’m 30, 31 in September…. I’ve attached the result. I’m so concerned I will never be a mum :(

@Trying4one gorgeous name

Trying4one · 07/07/2021 10:08

@Kay00 thank you. I am not doing too bad. I am not going to lie I found the birth a bit traumatic as I didn't progress past 3cm so after 20 + hours of labour I had to have the emergency c section. The scar is healing well and barely feel any pain from it any more. Just got to take it easy for a few weeks.
@Juno231thank you. Yeah we are both well. Though I have baby blues (hormones have a lot to answer for) so cry most days but getting less teary every day. It's funny how you can want something so much but it is still a shock to the system when she arrived. Her name is Abigail ☺️
Thanks @Moocher90 @TheDaydreamBelievers

Moocher90 · 07/07/2021 09:54

@Trying4one congratulations xx she is beautiful I hope you are both doing well xx

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 09:29

@Trying4one oh wow she's gorgeous! Congratulations! Are you both okay? Are you healing well? Does she have a name you can share with us? :)

Kay00 · 07/07/2021 08:15

@Trying4one Awww, wow!! Congratulations! She's absolutely gorgeous

TheDaydreamBelievers · 07/07/2021 08:04

Congratulations @Trying4one, shes lovely. I can only hope I get there one day x

Trying4one · 07/07/2021 03:58

Hi everyone. I haven't posted to this chat in so long and my username is no longer relevant. I wanted to update those who I were speaking to back in August/September/October 2020 and sporadically speaking to since then.
I wanted to let you know that I have recently given birth to my little girl who was born a week late by emergency c section but still only a diddy 6lb 10oz. As you can tell by the time of my post, sleeping at night is elusive!
No one tells you how hard it is or at least you don't listen to those who do tell you. However it is all worth it and I have faith that you will all have your turn soon. Keep positive ☺️ xx

So good news is that my first appointment for private fertility is in Friday which they are taking bloods, then I have to book in so DH can do his SA and for my hycosy etc and then on that same day we get the results. I also spoke to my GPs to confirm he is referring me to gynaecology.

Anyone get sore boobs prior to ovulation? I’m CD8 and they are so tender which had never happened in any of my prior cycles except when they hurt for ages when I came off contraception.
