After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

@MrsHInch so similar!! ExH was so used to all sorts of dodgy porn that he couldn't even have "normal" sex for the last 2-3 years. When he asked to have the dodgy porn on in the background I pulled the plug!! I'm now the happiest I've ever been and if I had to choose between childless relationship with lovely man or kids with exH, I know what I'd choose!!

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 15/05/2021 13:02

@AllyCat31 fingers crossed for you!

@moocher90 hopefully you ovulate on target and your 21 day bloods are good. No idea about the sa though sorry. Hope your dh gets something from the gp soon.

@Kay00 sorry to hear about the bfn Sad. Good that you had a good cycle though.

@WhirlingD was that after your withdrawal bleed? Congrats on the smiley, go jump your dh!

@MrsHInch well done on the weight loss. Hopefully you and dh will have a beautiful baby not too far in the future

MrsHInch · 15/05/2021 11:47

@whirlingD I feel for you! I really do. I spent 10 years with my ExH & never used precautions from about 8-10 months into our relationship. Wasted all rounds of clomid with him & the whole fertility thing was a passion killer for him, he couldn't even get it up at the crucial moments.

Out of the 6 cycles, I ovulated and released eggs on 3 occasions, but it was wasted because we didn't even DTD near the time. 🙄

I suppose at the time, I thought that everyone went through these issues etc but enough was enough when at 32 I'd resigned myself to a marriage of no sex. But found that he was helping himself at every given moment with porn and toys of his own 😢🥴

Onwards and upwards now after losing weight and getting myself a lovely new bloke who I truly adore!

WhirlingD · 15/05/2021 11:33

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow welcome ! it took me an incredible 101 days to have AF after stopping the pill. A month of horrendous night sweats and then lots of false starts on OPK. Finally noticed EWCM and had positive OPK on day 87. And then AF on CD101. I was over the moon. I'm now CD 12 on 2nd cycle after pill and after 4 days of empty circles on CB OPK I was starting to think I was in for another rough ride this month. Found out a week ago my FSH is not great so of course I was feeling so low yesterday. I have a tendency to think the worst about everything. I got into a dark place, mostly annoyed I didn't get out of a bad marriage sooner, and then annoyed I waited 2 years with DP to get settled before TTC. I'm 38.

Anyhow, I had a talking to myself yesterday and had an acupuncture appointment in the evening. I was so so relaxed. Felt amazing. Then had 2 glasses of champagne with my dinner just because I fancied it. Then this morning, I had a CB solid smiley. What the hell is that all about???? Poor DP is going to receive some unexpected afternoon DTD later today. I've displayed the test on my bedside table like a little medal. Perhaps I should put it on DP's bedside table (passion killer???). He's in 50s so sod the DTD every day malarkey. Every other day will have to do. :)

I shall have an espresso martini please. Or a Cosmo. Depends on time of day.

@Kay00 your chart is the stuff of dreams. I've given up on temping. I'm all over the place. Think I toss and turn too much.

@MrsHInch I'm being fairly honest about TTC. I'm an open person. But I guess that becomes harder over time.

Kay00 · 15/05/2021 11:33

@thedaydreambelievers thanks x but actually I'm not taking Soy Iso. This is either a fluke or the Conceive plus ovulation + fertility support.

Your chart is looking very promising, hopefully this is it for you now xx

TheDaydreamBelievers · 15/05/2021 10:03

@Kay00 that is a gorgeous chart! The soy seems to be working!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 15/05/2021 10:02

Crosshairs are back! 4th time in this "cycle" but you never know?!

@Kay00 that looks like a good temping chart to me!

@moocher90 mine has just been given a number to call to arrange the SA, but this was a private referral so 🤷‍♀️

I'm 11DPO and got another BFN this morning on FRER. I'm very likely out so will start my laxatives today before colonoscopy tomorrow 🙃. I'm disappointed this cycle wasn't 'the one' but it has been my best cycle yet, so I can't complain! 😊

Moocher90 · 14/05/2021 23:02

@MissC07 great intro for this new thread.

Nothing exciting going on presently, patiently just waiting to ovulate... CD10. OPKs are just starting to show a line so I’m a good few days off a positive yet so DTD will commence this weekend and continue until confirmed ovulation. Speaking to GP on 20th about lack of ovulation and whether there’s anything that can be done. Going for day 21 bloods too this cycle. My day 3 bloods come back normal and nothing untoward.

It’s just so depressing when you want something so badly and everyone around you are having babies and it’s just not happening for us. I need my DH to chase up with GP as he requested an SA but hasn’t received anything further. Not sure how it usually works with GP’s who refer for SA. Anyone else’s partners had one requested by GP?

AllyCat31 · 14/05/2021 22:53

Thanks for the new thread! Set to have a 39d cycle which will be the shortest one yet 🥳 almost “normal” 😂

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 14/05/2021 22:42

@Kay00 hopefully this is a good sign of things to come for you with more regular cycles.

@Kat668 49 days sounds ages but I suppose is actually pretty short really

I didn't actually finish my pill packet, I only took 10 out of it before we decided not to wait any longer so I wonder if that will have an impact on the time until my withdrawal bleed as I won't have had the full month of hormones. My last withdrawal bleed started 30th April, so only 2 weeks ago. If I follow my usual pattern of starting to bleed 6 days of the pill I'm expecting my bleed to start around Monday but we shall see.

Cocktail wise I'll have a strawberry daiquiri please 🍸. And maybe a long island iced tea and a sex on the beach too if we're partying 🎉

MrsHInch · 14/05/2021 22:27

Thanks @Kat668 xx baby dust all around!!

Tell your friends, I find that there's far too much hush hush when itt comes to baby making!

MintGreenLife · 14/05/2021 22:26

@TheDaydreamBelievers awh thanks so much for the shout out ☺️ I’m still checking back to see how you’re all getting on x

Kat668 · 14/05/2021 22:21

P.s. @MrsHInch that was meant to be a smiley face! 😀 not the weird gurning one ha ha

Kat668 · 14/05/2021 22:18

@MissC07 thank you for the new thread, that is such an amazing intro I love it! I'll take a gander in with 1 of each cocktail (yes that means lots of cocktails🍸!)

@firsttimemummy321 I'm sorry for your losses. Glad they have referred you, keeping everything crossed for you x

@Kay00 Sending you a huge digital hug I hope you feel better soon 💗

@FlyingGiraffe have fun tonight! 😉😂

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow welcome!! I'm only on my second cycle, took me 49 days to get my first bleed off off pill, so who knows what this cycle will look like 😂 fingers crossed yours come back to normality soon!

@MrsHInch wow congrats on the weight loss! That's amazing 😁 sending baby dust your way!

I'm CD13, my apl says ovulation will be Tuesday but that was based on a generic cycle length as I still don't know what mine will be like! We're DTD every other day all month so far ha ha. We shall see what happens! I'm going to my friends next weekend (permitting the government go ahead with allowing house visits!) to finally meet her second baby who is 6 months! I'm really looking forward to it but at the same time worried it's going to make me more volatile with this whole TTC malarkey 😂 also debating whether to tell her and my other BFF that we're TTC. So far only my mum knows. I've mentioned ages ago that we'd probably start trying around now and my friend is so keen for me to have a baby that I know she won't have forgotten! On the one hand I feel it would be lovely to have their support, especially the friend with the kids as she knows what it's like and took a year to conceive both, but on the other hand I worry about the pressure of more people knowing.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 14/05/2021 22:18

Thank you for replying @MrsHInch - I think this is the path I'm on (gp has referred to generic gynaecology)

MrsHInch · 14/05/2021 22:13

Thannks @Kay00 fingers crossed and positive vibes!! I do hope that it does come naturally as I'm 35 this year, so I could end up with complications elsewhere.

@TheDaydreamBelievers myself and my ExH had been trying for more than 2 years & I went to the gp for gyne referral. Blood tests, ultrasound scans and a hysterosalpingogram (tube test) confirmed my pcos diagnosis in December 15/January 16. I was then given clomid on the back of this diagnosis. 6 cycles took me the best part of 18 months to get through & it was the worst thing I've ever done. The bleeding was something else.

Kay00 · 14/05/2021 21:58

@laurat94 that's wonderful news 😊😊😊 please keep us updated xx

@mrsHinch wow!! Huge congrats on the weight loss, such an incredible achievement!! Hopefully you get pregnant naturally and really quickly this time x

@sunshinedaisybuttermellow welcome! I'm nearly a year off the pill and my cycles are all completely random lengths, and I have had 2 x anovulatory cycles too. My current cycle has been the best so far though 😌 ovulation on CD18 and a decent surge in progesterone!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 14/05/2021 21:58

Welcome @Sunshinedaisybuttermellow

I'm bringing a glass of Bramble to this party.

@MrsHInch can I ask how you got put onto clomid? I clearly have an ovulation disorder and am not sure how to get clomid (or similar) prescribed

LauraT94 · 14/05/2021 21:04

@MissC07 that's a fab intro! Love it.

Thanks to everyone for their kind messages on the last thread and I'm sorry I didn't get around to replying on there! Don't think I missed any questions but feel free to ask again if I did haha!

Been a busy week and then ended with my 12 week scan today! Baby was perfect and measuring a day ahead. So I'm officially 13+1 with a due date of 18th November! ❤️

MissC07 · 14/05/2021 21:02

I'd like to apologise for my horrendous grammar in the intro, it's you're not your!! 🙈

@MissC07 Thanks for the new thread! Love the intro 😆

MrsHInch · 14/05/2021 20:04

Hey all, thanks for the new thread!!!

Sorry I've been MIA. Busy busy in the world of Mrs Hinch!!

Just an update:

Came off the pill on 28th March.
Definitely ovulated & had a proper bleed 14 days following from ovulation on the 28th April (31 day between).

CD 17 today, definitely ovulated on CD 14.

DTD on CD 10 & 12 - not holding out much hope tbh, like I said I've been extremely busy. DP had his kids over on the crucial DTD day & one of them was poorly all night Confused

Looking towards a 28 day cycle here with current stats. I've never had a regular cycle, had a pcos diagnosis in 2016.

Went through all 6 rounds of clomid with my ExH, feels like such a waste tbh 😔 anyway, I've lost 8 stone in weight over the last 2 years through weight loss surgery and also have a new partner so things are very different xx

Fingers crossed for this month, I'm 3dpo and the longest wait ahead!
