After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

@MissM94 oh north Manchester is my local too! I had dd1 there 3 years ago, they were actually really good tbh. That's where I've seen all the women smoking too haha!

@MissC07 ooh that's exciting. Do you know if you're having the astrazeneca or pfizer one yet?

@WhirlingD its good you got the positive opk. Maybe you just didn't ovulate yet though if your temp hadn't risen? I've heard you can have a few positive opks if your body tries to ovulate but doesn't quite make it?
Otherwise it's probably just that your sleep isn't consistent

WhirlingD · 20/05/2021 11:32

After that stupidly long first post-pill cycle, I got a positive OPK on day 15 but I'm now CD20 with no discernible temp rise. I'm not that disciplined about timing of temp taking, I toss and turn, get up to pee and sometimes have glass or two of wine in the evening. So let's just hope that I'm crap at temping rather than not ovulating. it's £40 for a finger prick progesterone test so might do that next month. The fear is that it won't be clear and will send me into depths of despair like the stupid FSH test did

I'm going to keep occupied until next Saturday (I.e. stay off Google) and do a test then. To be honest, I'd be happy enough with a regular cycle this month then I'll go
at it hard again next month!

@Kay00 any tips on temping. I'd love a chart like yours!

ChinChilly · 20/05/2021 11:29

@MissM94 I think the odd wonky cycle is normal

My RHR has been dropping over the last few days, really trying to not let it worry me 😬😬

MissM94 · 20/05/2021 10:59

@Kay00 god that's so reassuring! I'm sorry that that's at the expense of your cycles but it's helping me feel better that I'm not abnormal and infertile just cos my cycles are longer than 36 days 😂 just going to see when it finally arrives and try not to work myself up.. try being the operative word 😂🙄 I guess ovulating is the most important bit, aslong as that's happening every month you know things are definitely rolling in the right direction

Kay00 · 20/05/2021 09:11

@missm94 I have ovulated on days: 31, 26, 18, 35, 24, 27, 18. Making my cycles: 41, 34, 32, 47, 37, 38, 45, 40, 32. All completely random! You might be having an anovulatory cycle which is perfectly normal (but very very frustrating)!

MissM94 · 20/05/2021 08:23

@MissC07 I've not been temp tracking I normally do OPK's but I didn't last month.. I've been rubbish haha

MissM94 · 20/05/2021 08:22

@Juno231 aw really? That quite reassuring then 🥰 yeah she's been really good tbf I normally see all different ones but I've seen the same one for quite a few weeks so I am lucky really aren't I.. thank you! X

@MissC07 yeah, we will be then! Mine have been: 34, 29, 35, 34 & currently on day 46 haha nightmare! X

MissC07 · 19/05/2021 21:36

@MissM94 I think we're about the same point ( I came off the pill early Nov). Mine have been 41,45,42 & 36 days. Do you track temp and OPK's? (sorry I lose track of who does what!)

@Kay00 Oh god I can't watch OBEM, I literally bawl my eyes out. That and 24 hours in A&E have me in bits!!

@Juno231 woo for your temp rise. Fingers crossed for you this cycle 🤞

Had the text from my GP today so I've got my covid vaccine booked for next Thursday! Other than that nothing to report from me. CD16 and not much going on!

Juno231 · 19/05/2021 21:23

@Lovebug06 ha it's weird, I find one born makes me feel better about childbirth! Maybe I've not seen the worst episodes 😅

@missm94 I know it must seem scary but honestly 45 isn't too crazy! And plenty of us were still having wonky cycles at the 6 month mark but went on to have bfps. It's good you have a gp that wants to get the ball rolling though - doesn't hurt to get things checked out!

MissM94 · 19/05/2021 20:25

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow no I mean north Manchester hospital in crumpsall but St Mary's?... yeah I get it 😂
And I really have no idea, is it normal to just have an odd long cycle? Screams abnormal to me that 😩

MintGreenLife · 19/05/2021 20:08

@Lovebug06 just a sore arm at the mo, but only had it at 11am this morn. Fingers crossed that’s the only side effect 🤞🏼

Lovebug06 · 19/05/2021 19:42

@Juno231 @ChinChilly @Kat668 thanks for the doggy love 🥰 the painkillers seem to work quite well although we get the odd whimper bless him.

@Juno231 good luck this cycle, fingers crossed x
@Kay00 I haven't watched one born every minute for years. It used to terrify me. I want a baby so badly but I can't think of the birth, scares the hell out of me! Maybe I should watch now and see if I see it differently.
@MintGreenLife
That must have been a difficult desicion, but I think the right one ❤️
I had mine 2 days ago at 11dpo.
I just had a sore arm and that's it, did you have any other side effects?

Currently 13dpo.no symptoms at all. Boobs were the tiniest bit tender for a couple of days but I think that's actually gone which is bizarre. Doesnt feel like my period time. I've come on the last two months a day later than i expected so I think it may be Friday instead of tommorow. Had the whole no symptoms before but not for a bit. Still a bit worried the vaccine will make me late which will be hard! Although I've read quite a few women have come on early. So who knows x

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 19/05/2021 19:28

@MissM94 I'm near Manchester too, I presume you mean St Mary's? It isn't my local, but there are women smoking outside my local regularly too. I've heard good things about the midwives at St Mary's though. I used to work in a maternity department, and one woman was having a right go at the midwife for advising her not to go out to smoke whilst in actual labour. Not St Mary's but still Manchester.
Have you been tracking ovulation with opks/ bbt? Maybe you just ovulated late?

@Kay00 oh I love one born every minute 💕 and call the midwife too. I just cry like a baby.

@MintGreenLife hope you're feeling OK post jab, glad you feel like you've made the right decision.

I ordered some cheap opks online, one step they're called. When do I start using them? I don't know what I'm doing!

MintGreenLife · 19/05/2021 19:24

@Kay00 xx

MissM94 · 19/05/2021 16:21

Soo just had a doctors appointment for my "check up" for 6 month off the pill, still not had my period so I'm 10 days late & cycle is currently on day 45, she told me to do a test & if I still haven't come on in a couple of weeks I need to go back to "talk about what happens next" whatever that means? She mentioned PCOS and doesn't think I have that as I have no symptoms of it, had a scan back in 2014 and that was absolutely fine and says it would be "unusual" for something to be there now if it wasn't there.
So I've just come home and done a test and it's negative so what is actually going on? I know things can be all over the place and I have to be patient but I just don't like not knowing what's happening.. at my last appointment she said it's good that I've had a period every month as that means I'm sort of on track so it's baffled me why the 6 month mark is the time it's all fucking up

Someone please calm my wild mind down that somethings gone wrong 😩

@MintGreenLife hugs xxx that must have been very difficult, but I think you did the right thing xxx thank you for sharing

@Juno231 haha "masochist" haha! Grin

MintGreenLife · 19/05/2021 15:20

Meant near future!

MintGreenLife · 19/05/2021 15:03

Just wanted to post as lots of you may be facing making the same decision at some point in the new future - I had my first Pfizer jab this morn at 29 + 3. I found making the decision so difficult, but I did a lot of research and got the advice of my consultant and a GP at the vaccination centre today and felt reassured. That didn't stop me crying the whole time I was in the vaccination centre though! Now I've had it I feel relieved and that it was the right thing to do x

Juno231 · 19/05/2021 10:56

@kay00 haha what on earth were you thinking?? What a masochist Grin

Kay00 · 19/05/2021 10:26

Morning ladies. I quite often pop the radio on, or maybe a documentary on whilst I work from home (I hate working in silence). Today I have put on... 'one born every minute' Shock

I'm an emotional wreck haha, I cry every time a baby is born! I hope we all get to experience this soon. This WILL happen for us ladies xxx

MissM94 · 19/05/2021 08:23

@ChinChilly or girls that use abortion as a contraceptive 🙄 don't get me started haha

Kat668 · 19/05/2021 08:12

Urgh again with the gurning face ha ha its a nice smile when I select it on my phone!

Kat668 · 19/05/2021 08:11

@Juno231 that's great! Keeping everything crossed this is your cycle! 😁

ChinChilly · 19/05/2021 07:18

@MissM94 I know it really bothers me seeing people like that pregnant and probably easily when so many people struggle.

@Juno231 Yay! Great coverage fingers crossed for you this cycle

Juno231 · 19/05/2021 06:49

Woop I had a 0.4C temp rise this morning so I think it's safe to say I'm 1DPO! Managed to BD on O, O-2 and O-4 so we're well covered 🤞
