After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

@Charliecircle11 welcome to the party!

@Kat668 I had my first Pfizer jab yesterday too! I feel fine so far

Tillybabs · 21/05/2021 18:46

@FlyingGiraffe no start date yet and it will be dependant on my egg reserves.

I’ve got to now wait until AF comes before I can have the first lot of tests and I’m CD 8 now.

@Juno231 thanks yes it’s great to have a plan in place. It will be a HSG. I didn’t realise you can’t TTC in the run up so will try and book it to coincidence before ovulation thanks.

Juno231 · 21/05/2021 18:31

@FlyingGiraffe ooh can I ask how much it costs? I see so many ladies on MN do acupuncture but the ones near me are like £70 per session so I don't know how OH would feel about that when he thinks its all hocus pocus anyway!

I used to get ovulation pain the first few months after coming off the pill but now it's very sporadic. I will say though - I don't trust it one bit since I had a pelvic ultrasound once where they confirmed I had ovulated from my left and I had felt "ovulation" pain on my right! Consultant said the pain can be just large follicles rubbing and not necessarily ovulation at all...

If I put a high temp in tomorrow it stays dotted! But if I remove the EWCM from CD11 it becomes solid... Which is weird cause I can def get EWCM quite a few days before OD normally. Thanks for helping me figure it out!

@mrsmacmc I completely get it, I keep wishing they'd found something with us as well - it feels pretty crappy not to know why it's not working. It also means we have to stupidly wait until the 2 year mark for IVF whereas if there had been something tangibly wrong they could have gotten the ball rolling much sooner.

@Tillybabs so happy it went well and that there's a game plan in place! Did she say if you're gonna have a hycosy or HSG? Remember to try and book it for before ovulation as you can't TTC in the run up to it. Fingers crossed your AMH is good x

mrsmacmc · 21/05/2021 17:47

@FlyingGiraffe acupuncture sounds interesting!

14 months so well over the 12 months TTC for being an old burd of 35 😆 it's a referral to the 'sub fertility' clinic. My referral to gynae & scan took 8 weeks if that helps you out - I did have to chase though - GP told me to hassle them if I hadn't heard anything in 2 weeks.

It's a weird feeling as it's good to know they couldn't see anything but feel deflated too as they didn't go aha! here is an issue 😩

Hope everyone has a R&R weekend. I've got leave on Monday so that's a bonus ❤️❤️

FlyingGiraffe · 21/05/2021 17:04

Hi ladies, how's everyone doing?

@mrsmacmc Hopefully your bloods/DH's check shows up something they can work with. How long have you been trying again? Is the referral for fertility? I have been referred to gynaecology but given no time frame either so I get the frustration.

@Tillybabs Sounds positive that you're a good candidate for IVF. Fingers crossed for you! Do you know when they may start treatment?

@Charliecircle11 Welcome! Hope in the best possible way that you don't have to stay at the party too long! Haha!

@Juno231 That's really weird it's changed it to cross hairs?! What happens if you put in a higher temp tomorrow? Do you get any ovulation pain at all?

@ChinChilly Congrats on the 3+ test!

I had my first acupuncture appointment this morning. I'm 4dpo today and so after talking about my history and taking my pulse/looking at my tongue(!) etc. he used needles in my feet, stomach, wrists and ears. He then used an infrared light and electric current over the ones on my stomach which was bizarre. It's felt strange ever since so I think it's doing something?! Whether that's good or not, we'll have to wait and see! @MissC07 @Gracie2021 How many sessions have you had? How often are you going? I'm booked back in for next week and looking forward to it. I'm hoping I can get to that appointment at 9dpo without spotting (but that's probably unrealistic after one session!)

mrsmacmc · 21/05/2021 16:11

Hey ladies sorry been very quiet from me at the cocktail club. Scan results discussion today with GP and nothing showing - very frustrating! Booked in for 'day 21' bloods 🩸 and DH to book in for a consultation so they can raise a 💦 analysis check. Referral going into the hospital too for the clinic but she couldn't tell me how long the wait would be 😩 feeling rather deflated

Baby dust ✨ and love to all ❤️❤️

Charliecircle11 · 21/05/2021 13:46

Glad you have made a step forward, wishing you lots of luck and sending positive thoughts x

Tillybabs · 21/05/2021 13:12

Hi ladies

So I had my first fertility appt this morning. Annoyingly they called me at 9.15am to say we could go in person but the appointment was at 10 so we said no will do it online.

So she asked us both questions about our history and lifestyle etc. And said we fit the criteria for IVF on the nhs so she will get the ball rolling but it will be dependant on my egg reserves.

So when I have my next period, I have to call them to go straight in for a scan and bloods. They will then do another test after to see if my tubes are blocked.

OH has to give a SA and then depending on the results of my egg reserves, I will start IVF.

I’m not getting my hopes up yet but I’m glad We are having the tests which will hopefully give some answers.

Charliecircle11 · 21/05/2021 10:38

Looking forward to knowing me again! It’s all exciting though

TheDaydreamBelievers · 21/05/2021 10:28

@Charliecircle11 I was the same! On the pill for 13 years and noooo idea that it worked by stopping ovulation. Thought that my cycles would be normal cause I had a bleed each month on the pill. How wrong I was!

Charliecircle11 · 21/05/2021 10:24

Oh wow! I am learning so much, I don’t know how I got to 33 and not know all of this stuff about my own body!!!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 21/05/2021 10:21

Heres my chart @Juno231

@Charliecircle11 this is an example of one where FF is right to be confused!

Charliecircle11 · 21/05/2021 10:05

Ahhh I see, fab thank you for explaining 😬

Juno231 · 21/05/2021 09:57

@Charliecircle11 Fertility Friend adds crosshairs on the day it thinks you ovulated. Normally they're solid red but can be dotted lines if FF is unsure. Dotted can be cause by eg. conflicting signs such as a temp rise that doesn't align with a positive ovulation test, if you log fertile mucus after the temp rise, or if your temps are all over the place so it's not sure if it's spotted a temp shift or not.

Charliecircle11 · 21/05/2021 09:45

Please forgive me for being dim but what do you mean by crosshairs?! 🥸

Juno231 · 21/05/2021 09:36

There we go

Post Pill Party - Cocktail Club
Juno231 · 21/05/2021 09:30

@TheDaydreamBelievers Hahah step away from the FRERs! Just this morning I saw someone on reddit get a nice FRER line at 11dpo but she'd had zilch the night before!

Got my crosshairs this morning at 3DPO but weirdly they're dotted! I can't see anything on the chart that would make them dotted but god knows. Gimme a sec and I'll upload it!

Charliecircle11 · 21/05/2021 08:59

Yeah, time will tell. Been taking it for 15 years, so my body is probably like whhhatttt?!!! Hoping I am one of the lucky super fertile women, who catch as soon as they come off it but I have no idea how fertile I am. So daunting when you are trying for the first time!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 21/05/2021 08:27

FF has now given my dotted crosshairs back and estimated 9DPO. This of course means I immediately took a FRER, which was negative. Silly woman that I am!!!

Kay00 · 21/05/2021 08:21

@chinchilly yey! Congrats on the 3+ I agree though, you should stop tracking your rhr, you don't need that kind of stress xx

@whirlingD in answer to you question re temping. My advice is to set an early alarm and take your temp at that time every day, mine is 6am. It will become 2nd nature and you'll do it when you're half asleep eventually. Also, don't obsess about single temp fluctuations (like I used to) or about a night of broken sleep (I get up 3x every night for a pee!) Or about the odd glass of wine. I still see a pattern.

ChinChilly · 21/05/2021 07:36

@pineapple2021 Thank you 😊 I got my 3+ this morning so that's helped my irrational fears lol

pineapple2021 · 21/05/2021 06:19

@ChinChilly it doesn't...... haha. Feel free to message if you need any reassurance. Midwife has really helped me!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 20/05/2021 23:04

@Charliecircle11 definitely expect a bit of time to settle in. If a combined pill like Rigevidon or yasmin then it works by stopping you ovulating, so can take a wee minute to get going again. Your natural underlying rhythm may not be 28 days - the combined pill basically fakes a 28 day cycle for the user.

Charliecircle11 · 20/05/2021 22:56

I stopped mid pack ☺️ I know you probably shouldn’t but I couldn’t wait! So impatient 😂

Excited to find track my cycle myself in a way, rather than relying on a little pill!

Moocher90 · 20/05/2021 21:47

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow. Yes I’m moving about 70 miles away but to be closer to hubby’s side of family and mum lives 50 miles away from new address which is nearer than she is now
