After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

Thanks @Kay00 good luck with your ivf eligibility appointment! And enjoy your birthdays, I'm glad the ball is rolling for you!

I'm cycle day 12 today I just did an opk and it's a smiley face again but I really don't feel I'm ovulating, I took two last cycle too and they were both smiley faces too (not sure what cycle day I was as it was my first cycle off the pill.) I'm starting to worry I've got a hormone imbalance that gives me smiley faces all the time, should I take them every day this cycle and next cycle to try and work out if it's a sign of a hormone imbalance? These are clear blue 2 most fertile day ones

Tillybabs · 13/07/2021 08:47

@Kay00 happy belated birthday!

I'm in the same boat as you, 13dpo and was hoping the Hycosy would help conception but I've been getting AF cramps since Friday although nothing has arrived yet.

Did a hcg strip today though and nothing so she's definitely coming.

We have our IVF eligibility appointment today.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 13/07/2021 08:33

@Kay00 happy birthday and I hope you have a lovely time camping (and good weather!). So happy to hear youll soon be on metaformin - when do you begin?

This is a super heavy AF for me - but luckily not painful! Temps are still also weirdly high - does anyone know when they 'should' drop?

Kay00 · 13/07/2021 07:30

Morning ladies! I have been a little quiet the last few days because I'm camping and have been enjoying life away from my phone 😆 it has also been my birthday... so I'm now officially 36.

I'm 12dpo (AF due tomorrow) and super pleased that I haven't been spotting this cycle. But I have some AF style cramps this morning so she'll probably arrive bang on time... tomorrow (which also happens to be my OH's birthday 🤣).

I'm not thrilled about being on my period whilst living in a tent at a site with not even a good portable toilet 🙃 but here we are. I was also holding out a small amount of hope for a successful cycle as I had my HyCoSy on CD5, but nm. On the plus side my consultant has finally written up my prescription for Metformin. Onwards and upwards!

@carolinesturn welcome!!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/07/2021 10:43

@Carolinesturn my cycles are super super long and irregular in general and the one cycle I took vitamin B was longer than most ('one cycle' being over 100 days that time). I'm nervous about messing around too much with vitamins to be honest. I'm pursuing private testing etc in August (after a major work deadline which currently has me working all hours).

Carolinesturn · 12/07/2021 10:23

Thank you @TheDaydreamBelievers
That’s put my mind at rest a bit, I suppose the spotting starts at around 10dpo so although short maybe in the normal range then AF at 14 dpo
Are you doing anything to lengthen your luteal phase? Such as vitamin b? I’m trying not to change anything for myself until I get an idea of what my hormones do on this cycle then I may look into vitamins etc

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/07/2021 16:35

@Carolinesturn welcome to our club :) Some spotting in the couple of days running up to AF is normal. If the spotting is off and on over the cycle or mayn many days thats less typical.

AF appeared for me on 9DPO. So a total cycle of 48days. Shorter than some of the monstrosities, but a bit short post ovulation.

Carolinesturn · 11/07/2021 14:18

Hi everyone
I would like to join you post pill party if that’s ok?, been watching you guys for a few weeks ‘creep’ 😂
I’ve been off the pill… Yasmin for one and a half cycles, around 7 weeks after 15 years due to acne. I got horrendous symptoms last month before my period, they actually had me convinced I’d conceived (wishful thinking) I was nauseas and sooo moody and irritable but the most worrying part was that I spotted brown for around 4 days before my period this was accompanied by mild cramps, I was convinced it was implantation but then AF came. I had tried an OPK, one of the Cb ones but the two day rather than the four and I got two positives in a row on my first try as I had a tiny bit of ewmc. I’m not doing them this month though as I think they might add to anxiety and just dtd every other day.
I’m most worried about the brown spotting before period and it’s link to hormone imbalance, but it’s my first cycle so maybe I’m being hard on myself, did anyone else get this? Also I don’t get varied mucus, it just seems watery or dry, no cloudy and only a tiny bit of ewcm last time
I’m 32 and never been pregnant, i have a feeling this won’t be easy for me. Sorry for offloading so sorry

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 10/07/2021 11:41

@Tillybabs sorry af is coming Sad

@Kay00 I'm just scared it will be negative haha. Last month I had spotting a couple days before AF so I guess I'm expecting it to come. I literally burst into tears in the toilet when I had the pink cm on Thursday (I also cried watching inside out and coco when dd was off nursery ill last week). DH keeps saying try to stop thinking about it like it's that easy haha!
Don't worry too much about the cramps, I remember when pregnant with dd I had loads of cramps the first month or so, apparently it's very common. Doesn't necessarily mean AF is coming, especially if your temps are high.

Kay00 · 10/07/2021 10:09

@tillybabs oh no... sorry AF is showing up.

@sunshinedaisybuttermellow ooh!! That all sounds very promising. Are you resisting from testing any longer for a reason 😁 ??

I'm 9dpo and my temps are still nice and high. But I have a very mild AF style feeling very low down so I wonder if I'll start spotting soon as seems to be the normal for me in the run up to AF at the mo.

Tillybabs · 10/07/2021 09:58

@ChinChilly you are doing better than you think and it's ok to have your moments. What you have had to deal with is a lot. Hopefully you will get some answers soon

AF is arriving any minute now! Right on the dot

ChinChilly · 10/07/2021 09:40

@Tillybabs @MissC07 @Sunshinedaisybuttermellow thanks all, it's really hard but I really do need to stick my big girl pants on and start moving on. I think it will be easier once I've got something through from Tommy's as it will feel like there is some sort of progress at the minute I'm just stuck waiting around.

@MissM94 it is crazy that the vaccine could of done that to your cycles.

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 10/07/2021 08:59

I've been quiet recently, not much to report. I'm now 16dpo, period late by 2 days. I did a test at 11dpo and it was stark white negative so I've just been waiting for AF really. Some slight bloody tinge to my cervical mucus, but only really when checking my cervix. My cervix is high and closed but still quite firm.
Also randomly - my right breast is leaking?? I've not breastfed for over 3 years now so it's a bit strange. I've also had episodes of nausea and dizziness.

@MissC07 its good that you've been referred for a scan, hopefully it comes through quickly for you.

@Tillybabs good luck for Tuesday

@ChinChilly I'm so sorry. Its awful when it feels like everyone around you is pregnant. One of my friends who is pregnant said she thought she had a bug then realised her period was 3 weeks late. Another had a one night stand with an ex and to the morning after pill but still got pregnant. Its so gutting when you're trying so hard.

MissM94 · 09/07/2021 15:12

@MissC07 thank you! glad they're booking you in for a scan and blood test, I made it to CD92 so I honestly feel your frustration! Everything was clear for me so I'm hoping it is for you too, I just put it down to the vaccine - I just have no idea what else it could be

MissC07 · 09/07/2021 13:50

@ChinChilly I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope you are doing as well as can be. I can only imagine how sad it must be to hear news like that.

@MissM94 congrats on AF, I'm glad she finally showed up

I'm on CD 67 now with nothing. I called my doctors this morning just to see if there is anything they could do (knowing they probably can't) and she was the nicest doctor and booked me in for a blood test next week and referred me for an internal scan, although I have to wait for a letter to get that booked in!

@ChinChilly I'm so sorry it must be really difficult for you right now, sending lots of love

@Moocher90 please don't be disheartened. I have a friend who had a low ovarian reserve and was told she couldn't get IVF on the nhs. She went private and had twins and then 15 months later, conceived naturally unexpectedly. It can happen

I know with my ccg you had to have at least 5.4

I've had my blood test and they have my results but they wouldn't give it over the phone so I have to wait till my appointment next week which has been pushed to Tuesday now.

ChinChilly · 08/07/2021 21:27

@Lovebug06 thanks ❤ the TTC journey is not what I expected, I'm sure for none of us, I wish I was one of those people who fell pregnant and had a healthy pregnancy with a healthy baby at the end.

ChinChilly · 08/07/2021 21:25

@Kay00 @TheDaydreamBelievers thanks both, it's harder when it's family because you can't block it out and everybody else is so excited and I'm just thinking that should of been me ☹ thank god it was an announcement on a whatsapp group and not in person because I don't know how I would of reacted.

Lovebug06 · 08/07/2021 21:23

@Kay00 thankyou for your reply th either day. I've just seen it ❤️

@ChinChilly so sorry to hear that, how horrible for you. Sending you loads of love x

TheDaydreamBelievers · 08/07/2021 20:33

I'm so sorry @ChinChilly. I know that pain. It hurts to fuck. All I can say is that I understand and im sorry Flowers

Kay00 · 08/07/2021 18:32

Oh my Sad that's really awful. I'm so sorry @ChinChilly xx

ChinChilly · 08/07/2021 16:31

As if things weren't bad enough in my camp, my cousin just announced his girlfriend is pregnant and is due around the same time as I would of been, I actually feel like I've been kicked in the gut, genuinely don't know what to do with myself.

MissM94 · 08/07/2021 11:10

@Kay00 hahaha I know right! I've never been so happy for AF to turn up before 😂😂 thank you ♥️

Kay00 · 08/07/2021 08:53

@MissM94 Yey! Glad your body is finally doing something... anything! Even if its AF Grin

@ChinChilly I think given that your TSH levels were a valid concern and you gave them the NICE guidelines I think you are well positioned to make a complaint. I hope you're OK xx hugs xx

@Moocher90 its really good that you have assessments lined up. Hopefully you will find the fertility clinic are quick to act once they know what your diagnosis is and you get recommended for IVF (if necessary) asap xx

MissM94 · 07/07/2021 22:42

@ChinChilly thank you! If I was you I 100% would.. especially when their failings are so obvious! You're not just looking for someone to blame you've been let down! X
