Hi everyone,

Nice to see some newbies and some of you in the TWW

Just a little update from me, I had a private scan today, measuring at 6+4 which is a bit behind what I thought I was but she said it's really unreliable at this stage because it is so small but we saw a flickering heartbeat so that was nice. I've got my nhs dating scan on the 29/06 so hopefully will see more than an jelly bean shape!

@vikki For the mood swings I would say hang in there! Your pill has been keeping all your hormones at a consistent level for years, stopping you from having estrogen and progesterone surges, so it's very likely your body is just having a bit of a wobble in response to these 'new' hormones!

@whirlingD hmmm... no ovulation since Jan. I'd say the fertility MOT sounds like a good place to start. The progesterone might not be much help though if you haven't ovulated.

I would imagine a lot of doctors are dismissive of temping as there are a lot of variables that are uncontrollable. But its interesting how many women are able to track temps and notice a temp rise around two weeks before they start AF and also around the time they get CM etc. It's very possible you could be ovulating but not getting the temp rise, maybe the progesterone will help work that out?

@SkeletonSkins withdrawal bleed straight away, then first real period after 101 days. On CD31 of 2nd cycle now. Positive OPK yesterday so fingers crossed.

@JoeMalon3y just seen you’ve come off mini pill too. I wonder how long it will take for AF to arrive! I’ve only been off it since 27 April

This was the cycle before, long but at least ovulation seems to be happening. Just hope it happens soon this cycle as I’m already on day 39 :(

@Vikkibadger My skin has been horrendous since coming off the pill which I’m guessing is down to hormones, but it seems to be settling a bit more now I’m a few months pill-free.

@WhirlingD have you had periods? But unovulatory cycles? Sorry still getting to grips with how it all works ha.

I’ve attached my chart for this cycle - as you can see it’s a spiky mess with no ovulation yet, FF is predicting the weekend so I hope it happens just to have some level of regularity, even if that ‘regular cycle’ is 54 days long.

@Vikkibadger I'd persevere a bit longer. It will pass. I had 3 weeks of debilitating night sweats. But they disappeared.

@Juno231 I was using Ovia app until a couple of days ago so transposed the temps across. So actually they were all taken at about 0730. But let's face it, you can't take much away from that chart!

You are right of course, it's not a proper temp rise, but I remain optimistic for the next few days. I haven't seen a single biphasic shift since coming off the pill in Jan (although sadly I've only had one period!) so I'm avoiding the probably painful truth that I haven't ovulated in about 5 years. If no temp rise in next few days then I'll book a docs appt or fork out for the private fertility MOT. I was thinking I might order a medichecks 21 day progesterone test as it's only £40.

I know some temp fluctuations can be minute and I'm wondering if I'm one of those people who has no discernible rise. I was reading the NHS guidelines last night (must have been bored) and it keeps saying temping is not reliable and shouldn't be used. I just can't square the circle of the medical world completely ignoring something that has been proven in countless peer reviewed articles. I wonder if anyone has a view on this. I'd be interested. I've heard doctors are very dismissive of temping.

Was also reading all the literature on ovusense. It seems seriously impressive. I might order that too. May as well add to the £££ I already spend on fertility stuff!!

Hey guys just come off cerazette mini pill 6 days ago or so and half of the day I can feel great at work and then I get down and crazy mood swings... also I’ll have loads of energy and then randomly it’s gone and I am exhausted. I think it’s pill as I didn’t feel like this before. Someone recommended evening primrose oil. Please help.

Ooh hello everyone, I didn’t realise there was a post pill party and wish I’d joined earlier! I’m going to read back a bit to try and learn a bit about you all but quick intro from me -

Ttc baby no 2. Came off mini pill 27 April, had withdrawal bleed 1-4 June and nothing since! Counting cycle day 1 as 1 June I’m now on cycle day 34.... last time I came off the combined pill my cycles were 42 days but did manage to fall pregnant with those long cycles. Who knows what is going on this time?! 🙈

@kay00 no excuses - I'm foreign so my normal father's day is in Nov I think!

@WhirlingD how much earlier did you take the last two temps? Unless significantly earlier I wouldn't count the last one as a temp rise I'm afraid - fingers crossed it jumps up tomorrow though.

@WhirlingD @SkeletonSkins I have to say i'm pretty chuffed with this chart... it really is the chart of dreams... well, it will be if it ends in a BFP!

@Juno231 I hadn't even given fathers day a second thought (as my dad passed 10 years ago, and by OH doesn't know his, and all my grandads bar one are no longer with us)... but you're right, a fathers day announcement would be lovely!! I would be 19DPO on the 20th June, so would be perfect if it actually happened

@SkeletonSkins welcome!! You will find lots of friendly support here. I admire your diligence! I'm 38 TTC #1 so I have a bit of age anxiety. It wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't taken me nearly 4 months to have my first post-pill period! Damn hormones.

@TheDaydreamBelievers your cycle sounds as "interesting" as mine. I was so bloody excited with my static smiley on CD12 but it was clearly bollox as I had zero other ovulation signs. I'm cautiously optimistic about this second static smiley on CD28. It came with a good amount of EWCM and I had a teeny temp rise this morning. Fingers crossed this is the real deal. Managed to DTD over the past few days and it was just before I did the OPK. In fact, I was in a bad mood about the whole TTC thing and we DTD just because we really fancied it. No expectations. And can I just say that it was far more enjoyable than when we DTD with a purpose. Bloody great actually.

My Myo-inositol arrived this morning (same as your conceive plus). I doubt this cycle will be the one for me so hopefully this supplement will help me ovulate a bit earlier next time.

I've been half assed temping but I'm committed for the next 2 weeks. Look at my chart though. You can see why I gave up on CD12 as I thought I'd ovulated! Stupid chart. This is an example of how not to chart ;)

@SkeletonSkins welcome :) Im similar to you - early 30s, TTC number 1, on the pill for forever then came off it to realise my cycles were a whole pile of nonsense!

Randomly, FF has decided I have ovulated on CD8 and am 3dpo. This cannot be true and I suspect as I add temps it will take the crosshairs away. The only thing I am doing this cycle is temping, so thats all the info I have to go on.

@SkeletonSkins welcome! It's good that you do ovulate and I love how on the ball you are with temping pre ttc. You're in with a good chance of catching despite the long cycles - most ladies just struggle getting timing right!

Am I the only one fantasising about a father's day announcement to OH this cycle?

Haha thank you, I’m very aware we will probably find it difficult to conceive and so I thought might as well do what I can to help. Your chart is my dream chart ha, not sure what my body is doing at the minute, I’ve had a bit of a temp rise but it’s not much higher than the cover line so expecting it to be another failed attempt ha.

@skeletonskins welcome! I'm throughly impressed by your pre-ttc due diligence! You already know your body so well and understanding when you ovulated in the past year will help you target DTD (doing the deed) in the coming months so you can hopefully get pregnant sooner.

I have long cycles and I had a couple of cycles (back to back) where I didn't ovulate. The Conceive Plus ovulation support have seemed to do the trick for me (I just got my cross hairs at 15dpo) but I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS (yet... investigations are ongoing).

Hi all, hope it’s okay to join. My first time ever on a TTC thread which seems a bit mad but I relate to so much of what you all post. I’m 29, 30 in December, TTC our first baby hopefully from our next cycle. I came off the pill at Christmas after 12 years on the pill, during that 12 years I had one year off the pill and I had no period at all and was diagnosed with PCOS. Went back on the pill to deal with the symptoms and ignored the issue until now. Lost two stone to get back to healthy BMI since Christmas and been temping to get to know my cycle. So far I’ve ovulated twice and had decent luteal phases but my cycles are longggg (50-56 days) and i can see that my body tries and fails to ovulate several times. Today is day 38 and I’ve had EWCM on and off since around day 18/19 but no ovulation yet which is frustrating.

We can’t try this cycle due to work restrictions so hope it’s still okay for me to join, with the hope I might pick up some tips and tricks before we officially start trying in my next cycle. I’ve taken myo -inositol and folic acid for a little while but just ordered the concieve plus stuff to swap over in the hope it might help me ovulate sooner.

I do worry that all these failed ovulations will mean that the egg I do end up ovulating will be good for nothing but I’ve read that generally it’s still okay. Not sure whether to bother with ovulation tests as I’m guessing from the EWCM I’d get false positives from PCOS anyway.

From looking at my ovusense what day would you say ovulation was??

I have my pelvic ultrasound on 10th June. I’m still in my tww and will test on my days off on Tuesday and Wednesday if AF hasn’t shown by then. She didn’t tell me if it was time specific but now I’m wondering if I should call back up and book it later on in the cycle as AF might be in force by 10th

This cycle had been abit crazy in that I didn’t get a peak reading as missed it and my apps are predicting ovulation on different days so I guess by next week AF will be here

Thank you! I was using ovusense which reckons I ovulated on day 18 and I'm now 10dpo. I'll try and attach a copy of the chart! We dtd on days 16,17 and 19. Would really reccomend the ovusense to anyone interested ; I have PCOS so opks aren't particularly accurate and ovulation is all over the place (day 18 this month, 14 last month and 21 for the cycle I conceived my daughter in 2018 - annecdotal I know but tried for a year then fell pregnant first month with ovusense!
