After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

@CharWils I haven't tried them but I've just looked up the reviews and they do look good. £31 in points is good aswell, I like to hold on to my boots card points then feel guilty for spending them. I've gone back to normal folic acid and vit d for now seen as we're not ttc at the mo, will probs chuck some omega in there.

@Theosmommy2011 Hi, my period took about 4 weeks to return but I was really crampy, sore boobs and generally felt like my period was going to come at any moment from a few days after i stopped taking it

Theosmommy2011 · 15/07/2021 15:08

Hi all, was wondering if anyone had any advice on coming off the cerazette pill? I have been on it since January and had the mirena before that. I want to come off asap but trying to hold off as I'm away next week and don't want a period to start whilst I'm there. I know it's different for everyone but not sure what to expect.
Many thanks 😁 xx

CharWils · 15/07/2021 13:39

Thanks @ChinChilly has anyone tried proceive? I've read good reviews on the max one so have just bought to switch from pregnacare as nearly out. Expensive but just got in boots on 3 for 2 so 3 months worth at £100 and with £31 back in points xx

ChinChilly · 15/07/2021 09:23

@MissC07 yikes that's a long chart! I wonder if your crappy workplace may be effecting your cycles?

@Kay00 Dam, sorry AF arrived

@CharWils I'm not sure what causes shorter LP's...progesterone maybe?

I keep getting random period pains, I'm hoping the bleeding following the MVA doesn't start back up again, I think I got off lightly on the bleeding front so I wouldn't be surprised 🙄

CharWils · 15/07/2021 09:17

Morning all, hope you are all doing okay?
My Dr is calling me back this morn and I'm gonna request some bloods as I have a very short LP (8 days) have realised both before and after conceiving Jack. I have only had 3 periods since loosing him and 2 before him after coming off the pill. All are about 29 days and I ovulate on around days 20.
Any advice on what I can ask for test wise and also anything else I should be asking to take or for advice on at the same time?
I know hormones after pregnancy can be messed up so I want to sound like I know what I'm talking about so I can at least get the tests needed and not just put down to that!
Thankyou xx

Kay00 · 15/07/2021 08:33

FYI all, my period started yesterday so I'm CD2.

Kay00 · 14/07/2021 22:52

@missc07 urgh, that's a very frustrating chart. Also... a bit rubbish of your acupuncturist?? Maybe she's worried she's making the situation worse? Here's hoping a week or two off work will help you de stress, and get your cycles back on track 🤞

MissC07 · 14/07/2021 20:32

@Kay00 Happy Belated birthday!! Fingers crossed for a BFP for you this month.

@Tillybabs Sorry AF is being so unpredictable! Fingers crossed something happens in the next few days for you.

@Lovebug06 Sending you virtual hugs. I'm sorry you're going through that. I hope the funding in your area picks up soon.

CD72 for me today and not a hint of Ovulation! My acupuncturist has also now said she won't treat me anymore as she's not seeing any results. Which upset me a bit but I guess at least I'll save money now. It's my last day at my toxic hellhole of a workplace on Friday and then I have 2 weeks off before starting my new job. So trying to stay positive and look forward to that. Oh and also had my bloods done this morning so hopefully will get those results next week. Chart below just for absolute LOLs.

@Kay00 possibly by an extra day I would say.

I use Femometer for temping and Premom for the opks. Fem says AF is due tomorrow and Premom says today!

I guess the temping is more accurate so will go by that.

Kay00 · 14/07/2021 10:37

@tillybabs as mentioned in our other post, I'm 13dpo and AF due today but not arrived yet. I could have arguably ovulated a few days later though, what do you ladies think?

ChinChilly · 14/07/2021 09:10

@Tillybabs possible the Hycosy then, I don't know much about them so not sure if they can have that effect.

Tillybabs · 14/07/2021 09:03

@ChinChilly no definitely not. I used opks and temped so was able to pinpoint ovulation.

I'm wondering if the Hycosy has impacted AF at all

ChinChilly · 14/07/2021 08:54

@Redclueless the wait for the first AF is torture, I think mine was about 4 weeks.

@Lovebug06 sorry you're feeling like that. It's really frustrating that some areas get 3 rounds of IVF and some get none, surely it should just be standardised across the NHS for faireness.

@Tillybabs that's frustrating, any chance you ovulated a couple of days later?

Tillybabs · 14/07/2021 08:01

@Lovebug06 I'm sorry to hear you are struggling. I hope that IVF becomes available in your area soon! It's really unfair that it's a postcode lottery for some but don't give up hope.

AF hasn't arrived yet and I've been having cramps since last Thursday and nothing yet. I'm 14dpo and bfn on a hcg strip test.

Lovebug06 · 13/07/2021 20:54

Hi all,

I hope your all doing okay, I read from afar and update when I can. I am finding this very tough the last few weeks as I said in my last post. I find to cope I kind of run away from it and avoid it.
My AF came again of course.
I feel terrible as we all do when it comes.
I'm having a lot of trouble with accessing help as I seem to have all along. And as mentioned, there is no ivf funding in my area so at the moment I feel a bit like I have no hope for this.
I will pick up, and be back. I obviously feel worse as AF has just come but I've been struggling for a while and the way my help (or lack of) is affecting me badly.
People at my point are being offered ivf, or evening knowing I could have that in the future as an option would be huge. Knowing I won't at all is just like.. What am I going to do????

I care for all of you I've got to know through this journey and am rooting for you all. I will try and pop back when I can. Hopefully in a few days but I just don't know, I have to keep distancing myself at the moment.

Sending love to all of you on this tough journey. Your such strong girls ♥️

Redclueless · 13/07/2021 19:44

@Carolinesturn I was on the mini pill, cerazette originally and then they changed it to destrogel. Same here I never bothered tracking or anything before, just assumed it was all pretty normal. I’ve heard pcos is really common but I’ve no idea how they check or diagnose it. I’m so impatient, also wishing for a fast forward button!
@Kay00 @ChinChilly thank you! At least it means ‘something’ is happening I guess, they’re actually not as sore as last week so hopefully things are progressing and I’ll get AF soon

ChinChilly · 13/07/2021 19:24

@Tillybabs yeah hopefully, I'm knee deep in DIY at the minute so that's keeping me busy!

@Kay00 The gym does wonders for me mentality wise, it's just getting my butt off the sette 😂 i did a IC a while that second line is very visibly still there it is no where near as dark as the control line which I think is pretty good considering I'm only one week post surgical management, hopefully next week it will be a BFN, so wierd to hope for a BFN. Your day sounds lovely, hopefully AF stays away and you get a birthday BFP.

@Redclueless welcome!! I remember my boobs feeling like two blocks on concrete after coming off the pill, it does settle...eventually

Carolinesturn · 13/07/2021 19:16

@Redclueless what pill were you on? I was on Yasmin for acne (originally dianette) I came off for about 4 months two years ago just to see what I was like without it and I broke out in acne so I went back on pronto. This time is different as ttc. I always remember my periods to be spot on but really I think I wasn't closely looking then. I didn't care but now I care too much! I just feel deep down there maybe something wrong with my hormones, although I've never been diagnosed... possibly pcos. I just wish I could fast forward a year and see what's in store.

Tillybabs · 13/07/2021 19:09

@Kay00 we are exactly the same cycle wise and I'm due tomorrow. I've had AF cramps for about 5 days and nothing. Had some discharge today as well.

But I did a hcg strip test and it was stark white

I guess the main thing I meet the criteria re amh levels

Your trip sounds lovely and perfect weather too

Kay00 · 13/07/2021 19:03

@redclueless welcome to the party! And unfortunately welcome to sore boobs 😆 hang in there, it seems fairly common for us ladies to have a long wait for our first period post pill 😊

@chinchilly that's amazing, do glad you're just waiting on your appointment date now. Time to focus on you and your health will be good physically and mentally 💛

@tillybabs yey!!! Great news! Hopefully you don't have enough polyps to warrant surgery though. I'm not sure about amh either as mine was off the scale 🙃

I have had a lovely day walking my dogs across the Mendip hills. It's bbq time now. Still no AF yet... but she's not due until tomorrow.

Tillybabs · 13/07/2021 18:59

@ChinChilly that sounds positive for you as well. 12 weeks is a bit of a wait but it will go quickly

Redclueless · 13/07/2021 18:44

Hope it’s ok if I join in! Very new to this, this is my 5th week off the pill and so far nothing but sore boobs and acne. Trying to be patient…

ChinChilly · 13/07/2021 16:46

@Tillybabs all sounds positive!, I'm not sure about AMH levels I'm not sure I've had mine tested!

I've just spoken to a nurse from Tommy's, she said my referral is all there and the current wait from referral to first appointment is about 12 weeks, she said they don't do anything for 6 weeks post miscarriage because there can still be some pregnancy hormones lingering around which may throw some blood results off. She was really nice and it does feel like abit of progress, I've got until around the end of September to lose about a stone and generally be healthier! Feels abit crap to not be able to TTC but needs must and all that!

Tillybabs · 13/07/2021 11:28

Hi ladies

So we have been approved for ivf on the nhs 😃

But before we can start, I'm having my baseline scan on Friday and they want to have a look at my uterus because when I had my Hycosy they saw some polyps.

They said depending on how many and how big they are, I might have to have surgery to remove those and then start the ivf process

Anyone else experienced that?

My amh level was 17.7 which is average I think?

ChinChilly · 13/07/2021 10:54

@Kay00 happy birthday!!! I was convinced AF was coming the month I got my BFP because of the cramps.

@Tillybabs good luck with your appointment today.

@TheDaydreamBelievers sorry AF is being a horror, not sure about the temps mine used to drop the day before or the day of.

@Carolinesturn Welcome!!
