After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

@Moocher90 congrats to a clear US! Bear in mind follicles are usually 20-28mm before being released so hopefully you'll get to the double digits before O-day.

Moocher90 · 10/06/2021 15:08

Hello all,

Had my pelvic ultrasound today. She said there was no issues and nothing to worry about. She said I had three follicles growing on my right ovary and the dominant one being 12mm already at CD5 I wonder if I will ovulate earlier this cycle..... said I would more than likely ovulate on the right side this cycle.

She said everything looked normal whatever that means these days 😂

I will prob start OPKs sooner then CD8 just in case I ovulate sooner then expected and would like to get a few sessions in before hand so the sperm is waiting if I do ovulate earlier 😂 got a telephone review with my endocrinology doctor on Monday as well. I’m hoping things will start to get easier for me. Feels like such a long time trying to get pregnant. It’s a year at the end of August :/

Kay00 · 10/06/2021 14:06

@WhirlingD oh yes, my usual cycles include many peaks of Estrogen/LH with zero temp shift (or sometimes a small temp shift that fizzles out) before I finally ovulate. That's why it feels like some sort of miracle that I ovulated on CD15 and CD18 in the last two cycles... I feel like the Conceive Plus tablets have just tipped my body over the edge to stimulate ovulation.

@SkeletonSkins Interesting what you say about weight, as I used to be quite big (size 18/20) when I was a teenager, but I lost it all aged about 17 (down to size 8) through a lot of exercise and a low fat diet (actually it wasn't a very healthy diet as I lost it all within a year). I have managed to keep it off since (thereabouts I'm size 10 now, have been up to size 12) but its a constant struggle. I'm ALWAYS hungry!! Grin Cake

SkeletonSkins · 10/06/2021 13:55

@WhirlingD I know that opks can give ‘false’ positives with PCOS as LH is often really high in an attempt to trigger ovulation. So you’ll get several peaks as tbe body tries several times to get over tbe line so to speak. I have PCOS, my main symptoms are the I have to watch my weight (I’m healthy BMI but it takes quite a lot to stay there), I can get bad skin which seems quite hormonal, irregular periods and some dark hairs on my chin which I attack with tweezers ha! You can have PCOS without obvious symptoms though so might be worth checking out.

WhirlingD · 10/06/2021 13:42

@Kay00 I think it is connected to PCOS. Like you, I don't have the classic symptoms but perhaps my blood tests still clear things up. Taking the inositol just in case!

MissM94 · 10/06/2021 13:15

@Kay00 ahh thank you! Will update you to whatever happens 😂

Kay00 · 10/06/2021 13:03

@MissM94 I mean its entirely possible of course, just rare. Fingers crossed you are that rare case! At least you are getting it check out Smile

@WhirlingD Good luck with your test results! It looks like your body is trying to do something. I would start testing a couple of times a day to see if you can catch a peak. My 'normal' level for LH is around 30% but then I have crazy random cycles so perhaps these two things are related.

MissM94 · 10/06/2021 12:02

@Kay00 not regular but I did some a few weeks ago & did another random one last week not even a squint of anything so I 100% know it's not that, unless I'm a very rare case that it doesn't show on a stick until like 12 weeks 😂 just want to know what's going on! I'm more confused than anything!

WhirlingD · 10/06/2021 11:49

@Kay00 @MissM94

Have just been to Docs for blood tests. Will get results by Tuesday. Quite nervous! Doing the full monty including AMH.

CD38 with nothing going on. Temps consistently low. But check out the whole string of dark OPKs. Literally no idea what's going on. (The CD is incorrect in the pic but the dates are accurate). I must have a load of LH floating about. And not in a good way. Sad

Kay00 · 10/06/2021 11:41

@Juno231 hopefully your FW will be a little later this month, so you can deal with the thrush Sad

@MissM94 Well, it would be awesome if she were right! But I guess you have been doing regular pregnancy tests?

I'm 10DPO and not a lot is going on. My temps are nice and high but it's hard to get excited when you just know nothing will come of it... (starting to get sour and pessimistic in my older age lol).

OH should get his SA results back in the next couple of weeks and I can book in my HyCoSy on the first day of my next period, so at least we will soon have a clearer idea of what is going on!

MissM94 · 10/06/2021 11:18

@WhirlingD I dont track but I have had positive OPK's so I know I have ovulated at some point just don't know why my AF hasn't turned up 😂

@Juno231 haha yeah! Very optimistic isn't she 😂 but I am so glad I'm getting a once over! Thank you

Juno231 · 10/06/2021 09:22

CD11 and a reluctant start to FW lol. Got thrush lurking and forgot to bring my OPKs to work.. oh well.

@MissM94 gotta love the optimism doc! Glad she's setting you up for tests though :)

WhirlingD · 09/06/2021 22:38

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow yes I think it was just my body trying hard to ovulate! Also, my baseline LH at day 2 last cycle was 14 and some of those OPKs go positive at 20 so I'm a prime case for false positives!

@MissM94 I know that feeling. I think my ovaries are just bloody lazy.

MissM94 · 09/06/2021 18:07

Hope everyone's okay and enjoy the sun!
I'm finally being sent for a full scale blood test and a scan which I'm very surprised about!
But I'm 100% sure my doctor thinks I'm pregnant.. She made a point to let me know she's doing a check for HCG in this blood test "just to make sure" and said if I get any pain or a positive pregnancy test in the meantime of having my scan to let her know, don't think she quite realises that I'm very much not pregnant I just have a lazy as fuck AF who is dragging her heels 😂 but good news all round, it'll definitely put my mind at ease getting everything checked out!

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 09/06/2021 10:51

@SkeletonSkins sorry af has come. Glad you can see it as a positive though, good luck for this cycle.

@WhirlingD that's good that you have bloods booked, hopefully they show something with the results. Do you think the static smileys were failed ovulation attempts then if you had no temp rise?

@moocher90 sorry af got you, glad you ovulated though.

I had a slight pinky tinge when wiping this morning Sad. I'm only cd24, possibly 11dpo if I ovulated based on cm.

Juno231 · 09/06/2021 09:40

@LV1987 first day of flow (ie needing a pad/tampon/mooncup) is CD1 and spotting doesn't count :/ I'm equal measures sorry that AF seems to be making an appearance but also glad your long cycle is coming to an end!

@SkeletonSkins ha I though you had it and just refused to read it Grin

WhirlingD · 09/06/2021 09:32

@LV1987 the first day of proper bright red flow is CD1.

LV1987 · 09/06/2021 09:07

Oh, also I ordered the conceive plus ovulation support, thank you all for that suggestion 😊

LV1987 · 09/06/2021 09:06

Morning all! So, I started spotting yesterday, on CD44. Still only spotting today. I do tend to get a couple of days spotting before AF arrives "properly" - I think the most I've had is 6 days worth!

So, question, should I always be counting the first day of spotting as CD1, or just the day of spotting immediately begote AF arrives properly?

SkeletonSkins · 08/06/2021 22:54

Brill thanks, wasn’t sure if they’d have instructions when they arrive so I’ll make sure I study them 😂

Juno231 · 08/06/2021 22:48

@SkeletonSkins haha read the instructions! They tell you when to start testing depending on your cycle length, to avoid FMU and when it's best to test. Once your line gets strong up the testing in case you miss a short surge.

@Moocher90 I'm sorry the witch got you :(

Moocher90 · 08/06/2021 22:26

@SkeletonSkins. I use the easy at home ones and CB too. Most people recommend your second wee of the morning. I start testing from CD8 until I start getting noticeable lines then I test more frequently so I can catch my peak. But it really depends what CD you tend to ovulate as you can quite easily burn through them.

SkeletonSkins · 08/06/2021 22:20

@WhirlingD I totally feel your pain, I get several surges and it seems to take a few goes for my body to ovulate. Glad you’ve managed to get bloods sorted and hopefully they’ll provide some reassurance. I think it can be so easy to be swept up by it all, I can find myself going that way already yet when I take a step back, I’m still nervous and worried about how much my life will change if we ever do get a positive. My lovely friend said to me today ‘TTC is all a bit of a mind fuck’ and she’s spot on!

SkeletonSkins · 08/06/2021 22:18

Sorry AF got you @Moocher90 but great that you ovulated and fingers crossed for the same again.

As a newbie, can I ask about ovulation tests? I’ve ordered the easy@home ones, when should I start using them and what time during the day do I use them? Is there a good technique anyone can recommend 😂

Moocher90 · 08/06/2021 18:17

CD3 for me :( AF got me but I did ovulate this cycle so I’m happy about that. Got my pelvic ultrasound on Thursday afternoon so hopefully that comes back as normal. Need to speak to my endocrinologist as been on thyroid meds 9 weeks tomorrow and I need a review to see if I need to increase my dosage or not.

Roll on to ovulation day in the hope I ovulate again this cycle.....
