After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

Hit send too soon 🙈 MN app being glitchy today for me too 😫

@Cams50 hope it flashes by quickly for you too ❤️

mrsmacmc · 19/06/2021 18:52

@MissC07 and @Juno231 congratulations on your new jobs! I'll be joining the new job brigade too next month

CharWils · 19/06/2021 17:39

Thankyou @Cams50

So getting very confused at my end. On CD11 so should be in my fertile window. OPKs still negative. Had EWCM for 2 days, went away this morning and back this afternoon. Was getting concerned that maybe I wasn't ovulating yet after Jack despite having 2 regular periods but looking back I didn't get high readings/peak until day CD16 when I conceived Jack. Every test up to that day was also negative. Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

Juno231 · 19/06/2021 15:29

@MissC07 oooh like me! I got an offer on Friday as well which I'm so relieved about as I seriously hated my job. Annoyingly I have three months notice and I suspect I have to wait 3 months at the new job before I can try (depending on their policy) so I'll be taking a ttc break as well I think. Feels weird to say though!

MissC07 · 19/06/2021 13:04

Hi ladies! Just checking back in to see how you all are (I haven't read through everything) 🙈 After quitting my job at the end of May and interviewing nearly every day for the last week I got a job offer on Friday - I'm over the moon!!

Although we are no longer TTC until I qualify for mat leave at my new job I'm still tracking my temps and sometimes OPK's just to keep a track of my cycle. Currently CD47 and not even a hint of ovulation! Have been having acupuncture though which I'm still continuing as my acupuncturist is lovely and I see it as therapy 🤣

Hope everyone is doing ok. Sending positive vibes and love 💫

@mrsmacmc thanks! Argh it’s all so frustrating isn’t it!! Hope it goes quickly for you ❤️

Kay00 · 18/06/2021 23:18

@sunshinedaisybuttermellow in answer to your question FF puts me at 18DPO if today is CD1, but I think I probably didn't ovulate until CD19, so that would have put me at 15DPO when AF properly turned up... but that means I had a serious amount of spotting in my LP. Which is less than ideal!

mrsmacmc · 18/06/2021 21:14

@TheDaydreamBelievers I did that too out of frustration ❤️ I would be totally screwed then if that was the response from my GP as I'm 35 going on 36 😯

@Cams50 don't apologise for your message ❤️ our healthboard wait is up to 12weeks so we shall wait (impatiently!) and see 😥 I will never meet the NHS criteria for IVF as the BMI here is 29 or below - never been that in my adult life 😆. I asked if there was anything else the GP could do and was told 'no we need to wait for your referral before we move forward' Hmm

Tillybabs · 18/06/2021 21:13

@Kay00 I think the date you are having your hycosy is good! Mine will be cd14 and I feel like that's quite late but apparently it's fine

Cams50 · 18/06/2021 17:55

Hi all,

I haven’t been posting much as usual there is nothing to report! @mrsmacmc and @TheDaydreamBelievers I’m sorry it’s so frustrating and I’m in a similar position. We were referred to the fertility clinic a month ago but still haven’t heard anything so I messaged the doctor today and she said there’s a 6 month wait. I knew there would be a long wait but I kind of thought they’d give us an appointment, even if it was for 6 months time. Also, my GP only did day 21 bloods which weren’t even accurate as I only ovulated that day so I don’t have day 2 or 3 bloods and that’s the one that’s useful for accurately checking FSH levels and they just said the fertility clinic will tell us if we need to run anymore tests so I can envision waiting 6 months to be told have another blood test. They actually recently reinstated IVF on the NHS in my area which is fantastic but it seems like it’ll take soooo long. But seems a shame risking that opportunity by going private now which is so expensive but the waiting is awful. Sorry such a long message!!

@Juno231 congrats on the job!!

@Kay00 sorry about AF but hope you have that hycosy luck of conceiving after it! And Graf about earlier ovulation.

@Lovebug06 sorry about AF x

@CharWils I’m so so sorry about your loss ❤️

TheDaydreamBelievers · 18/06/2021 16:51

@mrsmacmc I had a really upsetting / frustrating GP appt recently too. Male GP telling me there is nothing else they can do atm and I need to wait until at least dec 2021 for fertility clinic referral (fair, he is bound by those rules), followed it up by saying "oh well, you're only 32, we have years to play about with". Which I found inappropriately casual and I burst into tears as soon as I got off the phone

mrsmacmc · 18/06/2021 16:17

@Kay00 & @Juno231 thank you. This is why I really appreciate this group ❤️

It was the patronising'keep trying, it'll happen' parting comment she made - does she have a crystal ball 🔮 Hmm

Is there anything I can do to boost progesterone while waiting on referral to fertility clinic?

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 18/06/2021 15:52

@TheDaydreamBelievers thats really interesting, I always thought it didn't make much difference early on. Good to know though!

@Juno231 ooh congrats on the job offer coming! Hopefully it's a good one, what area do you work in?

@Kay00 if bleeding only stayed properly today I would count today as cd1. How many dpo was it today when AF showed?

Kay00 · 18/06/2021 15:26

@Juno231 My temp finally dropped today, so I'm either CD3 or CD1? I had very minimal spotting yesterday but lots of cramping, and my full flow has really kicked in today. Either way I'm getting my HyCoSy on Tuesday at either 5DPO or 7DPO.

Exciting news about the job offer! Is it something you are very excited about? Is it in the same industry/similar position or is this a big change for you?

Kay00 · 18/06/2021 15:22

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Progesterone_during_menstrual_cycle.png

Based on this chart at 4DPO you would expect your progesterone to be just above 20 nmol/L, and at 7DPO it might have risen to close to 30, so it does look a little low. But I guess not everyone follows a neat curve, so its possible you have ovulated but your curve could have been a different shape (slow rise for example). Its hard to tell when you don't know your exact ovulation date and you did the test so early in your LP.

If anything it might build the case for giving you something like Clomid + Progesterone when you go to the fertility clinic, assuming your OH's AM comes back within range. Fingers crossed!

Juno231 · 18/06/2021 15:21

@mrsmacmc Sounds like your progesterone was on the right track then considering the timings - either way they don't seem to care much and will refer you to a fertility clinic which is what counts!

@TheDaydreamBelievers fair point on the implantation, people often forget that part!

@Moocher90 it looks on track then!

@kay00 what happened to AF? Have your temps dropped?

7DPO here, RHR has plummeted today and temp has gone up to 36.80. Just waiting until Sunday when I'll test!

Def got a job offer coming next week which I'm so happy about as I'm desperate to leave - let's just hope it's a good offer!

mrsmacmc · 18/06/2021 15:12

@Kay00 I was 4DPO, cycle was 26 days which is normal for me. When I booked the test the Dr told me to count back 7 days from anticipated AF. According to my OPK my peak was CD16. The Dr I spoke with to get my result isn't my preferred one as she is very cold and doesn't like patients asking questions. Had dealings with her in the past when I had shingles - Spanish Inquisition when I asked to be signed off as still wasn't right after my 7 days self cert.

Kay00 · 18/06/2021 14:50

@TheDaydreamBelievers many thanks for the information, its really good to be properly informed!

@mrsmacmc That certainly is less than ideal progesterone levels, do you know what DPO you were when you had it done? Its good they are sending OH for a SA and that referral to fertility clinic is on the cards for you xx

mrsmacmc · 18/06/2021 14:47

Hey ladies!

Hope you are all keeping cool with this ☀️ weather! Wee update from me. Finally got my Progesterone blood test result which was 16.2. Dr advised was a little below normal which they class as 20+. When I asked more questions I got the 'old' card played, maybe just missed the true peak along with women don't ovulate every month 🤷‍♀️ all of which I already knew? I asked to get it redone this cycle and was told it wouldn't change anything as my OPK sticks are turning and there is a referral away to the fertility clinic / DH being checked with SA request away 🥴

TheDaydreamBelievers · 18/06/2021 13:22

This link is very medical/sciencey but is helpful in terms of the timelines of exposure - unfortunately definitely alcohol can have negative impacts before placenta is formed embryo.asu.edu/pages/developmental-timeline-alcohol-induced-birth-defects

TheDaydreamBelievers · 18/06/2021 13:19

Sorry, I should add that many many women drink alcohol in the 2WW and nonetheless conceive, and there are many social factors that make it very hard not to drink in the TWW or in early pregnancy

TheDaydreamBelievers · 18/06/2021 13:18

@Moocher90 @Sunshinedaisybuttermellow alcohol does unfortunately have an impact on implantation and likelihood of 'sticking' eg early miscarriage - obviously they are small effect sizes (so the risk only increases a tiny bit) and its mostly high amounts of alcohol that would have an impact! (source - used to work in a relevant research field)

Moocher90 · 18/06/2021 08:00

@Juno231 that’s a higher one for me as my previous 6 are lower.

Will attach my chart

Juno231 · 18/06/2021 07:57

@Moocher90 @Sunshinedaisybuttermellow 8 weeks even for the placenta! Also my friends back in Sweden all take really hot baths and have no idea what I'm talking about when I say it's not recommended here.

That's not much of a temp rise though moocher - is that normal for you? Guidance is 0.3C rise.

Moocher90 · 18/06/2021 05:27

So my temp is up today from 36.21 to 36.33… got to wait a few days for FF to give me my crosshairs though
