minthumbugs · 23/05/2021 19:12

@CycloGoose jeez that is a lot of info about IVF! Suppose it's one of those things if you find yourself having to know you learn pretty quickly so it's good to be clued up. It's good to know all your options - NHS is ideal but from what I've heard it's all ticking boxes and waiting which is not great for something like TTC. I've ran out of tests, yesterday was my last one 🙈 have added a pic of yesterday's. Thank you, I know I have everyone here after we get results! ❤️ I don't think my irl friends really want to hear about any of that stuff, it's a bit of a downer. I'm so glad to have you all! 🥰

I don't think I've seen katieloola post in a while, I was wondering how she was. Have you heard from lucea? I don't want to tag her but hope she is doing well 😘 sundays are just the worst sometimes. My advice would be - get a takeaway and don't think about tomorrow until the alarm goes off 🤣

CycloGoose · 23/05/2021 18:52

Hey @minthumbugs I don't think we really would go to Prague as you'd probably have to be there for quite a while and actually, the price of ABC is so good I don't think it would be worth it. So they're our first port of call - if I don't pass the initial assessment with them then I think we will just wait for NHS and then maybe consider abroad if the NHS round fails.
How confusing the AF hasn't arrive yet. Did you do any more POAS after yesterday's disappointment?
I'm not sure what to say about your MC results but I just want you to know I am here for you and I hope that they give you peace of mind either way.
Definitely go to Prague though it's stunning. I'm veggie now though and not sure how amazing the food would be for us haha. We had some good times though. We also stopped there for a night on the way back from a super-cheap skiing holiday!
What sort of pointers do you want @kaylsd? haha I haven't specifically been researching down the PCOS or sperm route, mind so not sure how helpful I can be! Definitely lifestyle choices for hubs and get him on some good quality supplements if you can - 3 months and you can change your whole sperm makeup quite a lot. You both have age on your side, which is really good. These are the recommended ones: itstartswiththeegg.com/male-supplements/ but essentially, coq10 (preferably ubiquinol but they sell it 3 for 2 at tesco at the minute and better than nothing), multivit and folic acid should be a real help.
You said you don't have an insulin sensitivity issue so I'm not sure how much myo-inositol will help but worth a try if you want to - I think you are already taking the conceive plus anyway. I reckon that the main thing for you is just to get you ovulating, so hopefully you'll get your referral through soon and then they'll start you on Clomid but you know all that!
If, because of hubs, IVF is the only way, you can go on here to check your CCG and check what the requirements in your area are (there's an excel download) most are 2 years but there are some with exceptions for age or known causes. fertilitynetworkuk.org/trying-to-conceive/nhs-funding/england/ Even up to this point, different people have been offered different things. One was offered stimulated IUI but with that, she was told she then couldn't have IVF as well so she waited.
At private, it's different again because they can do different things. If you have no medical history which would prevent it, you can become an egg donor and donate some of your eggs when you go through your IVF - it's usually £500 and you keep half your eggs. You have to be in good health for this - I can't do it because of asthma for example and go through lots of counselling etc before you do it but there is money off icsi etc as well when you do it this way.
There are lots of new IVF ideas, which is why ABC can offer it cheaper - in terms of for me, I think I could have the consultation and then start at the beginning of the next cycle. We just tried to book in but we couldn't get a date to work with our school commitments. That's because the one I am looking into is more like a 'mild' ivf so they give you drugs alongside your normal cycle - only more like 2 weeks of stims. Traditional IVF they may make you go on the pill first to stop any cycles, then begin stimulation over a longer period of time - maybe more like 6 weeks before egg collection. So it's a longer, more invasive process.
The dhea they reckon 3 months before you have your ivf cycle.
I can't cope with adverts! I never watch anything on ITV!
Hope your work day was good? I love Mabes. She's a proper treasure!
Wonder how Ares is, too! Has anyone heard from @KatieLooLa in a while?
I need to cook. I can't be bothered. Am I ready for tomorrow? Am I balls. Have I wasted hours thinking about the fact I should be working? Absolutely! OOOOPS!

@kaylsd I feel like I know wee Mable personally now! 😍 How gorgeous. May have had a little treat for dinner today 😏 Monday tomorrow 🥗🍉🍌🍏

AF still hasn't arrived for me. My cycle was returning to a kind of normal, maybe not now 😩

Tangfastic91 · 23/05/2021 12:58

What a gorgeous fluff ball @kaylsd ❤️

kaylsd · 23/05/2021 12:48

Oops it cut the tag from @CycloGoose first bits for you my sweet!

kaylsd · 23/05/2021 12:48

Can you give us some pointers what you have learnt so far 🤣 sounds like you may become the woman of wisdom when it comes to it with your extensive research shall we say! What's the rough timeframe from starting ivf to transfer on average is it around a couple of month with meds injections scans ect? I was teaching someone's daughter yesterday how to inject and she said it reminds me of the time she saw her sister injecting herself for ivf, I was like 🥺🥺 I absolutely love Prague it was freezing cold!!! We went in March and I think it was like minus 13 🤣🤣🤣 the ice bar we walked into was actually warmer inside than it was outside, it’s cute though when your outside restaurants with blankets and heaters thou 🥰 how long is it recommended to wait with the dhea to repeat AMH? Fingers and toes crossed that’s the way forward for you darling 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I can’t believe your friend with that prediction can we tell him to have some dreams on behalf of us all? My Aunty still swears there’s a little girl coming into the family as she’s seen it, I’m still telling her can you tell me time frame pls 🤣🙈 as I’m inpatient! I’ve not actually seen wicked always wanted to go watch it at the west end but never materialised :(! I may have to look into watching it some other way if it’s a good watch! I’ve been watching that the innocent on itv catch up partial to a good crime drama 🤓 have one last big blow out this weekend like me and hub are doing then let the best baby to be bod materialise 💁🏼‍♀️🙈

@mammaj21 I have on average between a 12-14 day LP phase so I think it was around 12/14 days after my positive OPK :) you never know hunny the dark one you saw may have been your peak and you might just be in your TWW without realising fingers and toes crossed!

@minthumbugs whatever the outcome may be we will be here hunny, and if it’s something which is explainable then hopefully it’s something what can be sorted too 🤞🏻I hope your having a nice lazy Sunday sipping water or sipping wine whichever your preference takes you today, we are aloud q treat and a unwind now and again, life will be too boring if we just ate salads all the time!

Just got home from work for a lunch break, got minimal motivation today so just had a large coffee and a cuddle off our mabes, I’ve attached photos for fancy, she’s overdue a cut she actually looks like a lion cub but her groomers is on holiday so she’s not booked in for another 2 week :’) she's just had abit of a MN photo shoot for you ladies 😘🙈🤣💁🏼‍♀️

@CycloGoose oh that's a low low temp!! Any other signs? Laying eggs, I LOVE that 🤣 that dream is absolutely crazy. Both my sister and my sister in law both had really vivid dreams before we told them both. More of those dreams needed! If you were to go to Prague would it be staying the duration of the treatment or going back and forward? I would love to go to Prague, it looks so beautiful it's definitely on my list. I don't even want to write what I've eaten today on here but I have been extremely naughty 🙈 tbh I feel horrible for it. Normally just allow myself to eat whatever and however much I want on a Sunday but I think tomorrow I will just sip water instead 🤣

@kaylsd defo going to be tough. I don't even know what outcome I would prefer, I know it's very likely they say we don't know why it happened! Don't know whether I would take it better if it was that rather than a problem, but at least if something is wrong there is something that can hopefully fix it. It sounds as if it will be results then if it's a consultant, I'm glad! Yep think they tests are arseholes 😂 I really didn't know if I could see a wee shadow but I've done some googling and I think if there was anything then it was probably an indent.
Every cloud has a silver lining, at least there can be more spontaneity in your relationship! It can become a bit pressured sometimes which doesn't help with the whole intimacy side of things. X

@MammaJ21 it stresses me out a bit too. I've done it a little bit in the past and tried it out for one cycle but I just find it disrupts my sleep and it's the first thing I think about in the morning which sets me up for a bad day! I mean I will admit to TTC taking up every other thought, but I at least like to wait until I've opened my eyes 🤣🤦‍♀️

Hope you're all having a good weekend 😘 xxx

CycloGoose · 22/05/2021 21:51

Sorry @MammaJ21 we cross posted and then my phone had a hissy fit.
I reckon your dark line probably was it. If I could go back in time and not be stressed with OPKs and bbts id totally do it. Though it does bring its own challenges. Imagine how confused I'd be in 2 days time with no period and no positive test for goodness knows how long. So it's good to know I've not ovulated yet. Saves that drama.
🤞

Honestly @kaylsd I reckon I could write a PhD thesis in fertility with all the information I've taken on board over the past few months! I did all the research before I even tried getting hubby on board so I pretty much knew everything they were going to say at the webinar. The only cheaper options would be abroad - there's a resurgence in people going to Prague for treatment. That's the only other option I would consider.... Mostly because I'm in love with Prague 😂
But I'm going to hang on in for a bit longer before going for it on the offchance that a) we get up the duff or b) dhea will improve my amh and improve chances of being accepted on to the ABC ivf program. It's nurse led which is why it is cheaper but also means they won't take more complicated cases.
Do you like Wicked? All the talk of medicine to conceive makes me think of the beginning. But the songs of our ovaries I'm gonna be singing 'Dancing Through Life' it's one of my all time mood busting songs!
So funny with your opk stash!
Probably best for you if you don't worry too much about the ifs and whens if you've got the pcos I reckon your new approach is the best!

@minthumbugs how are you feeling?

I forgot to tell you that we went to the pub last night - sat inside... Amazing - when we were there, a guy we know well from just out and about (we go to an old man pub with proper locals) came over to chat and within 5 minutes he said that he'd had the most vivid dream I was pregnant and that he didn't even realise it was a dream - he was chatting to his friend as if he'd actually seen me and I was pregnant.
He had the dream 3 months ago and still so vivid to him that it was practically first thing out of his mouth. I was absolutely dumbfounded. But 3 months ago, I technically WAS pregnant. I think he can have some more dreams please!
I'm taking my low temps as a good sign that that lots of estrogen being produced and I'm getting ready to lay some little eggs!

Also, I had cake for lunch and crisps for dinner. This has to improve. No point spaffing nearly £3k on IVF if I'm going to do that to my blood sugar levels 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣🧐

I love you all so much xxx

@minthumbugs I've never done bbt...maybe I should look into it. I feel it'll stress me out though... another thing to think about!
Sorry you tester again this morn...but maybe see what happens over next couple of days. I know what you mean about timing... it's hard to dtd to a schedule and frustrating when something gets in the way. Still no signs of ov for me...strange.

@CycloGoose seems like you are on a bit of a rollercoaster there.
@kaylsd oh wow...day 27...how long after that did AF take to arrive? I'm certainly no pro at this at all but I'm sure I do usually ov around mid cycle so really wondering if the dark line I had was it...but didn't quite seem dark enough. but since...nothing anywhere near. So strange. Enjoy the curry !

kaylsd · 22/05/2021 18:22

@minthumbugs I’m glad I could be of a little bit of assistance for you darling you know I’m always here if you need anything if there’s anything you don’t quite understand I’ll try my best to help, I know it might be hard whatever the outcome will be to hear but you’ve got us behind you each step of the way and you can find strength even in the most testing of times, I’m sorry I’ve just missed the abit of a could be moment from working those bloody indent lines are like older children who tell younger ones about Santa - absolute arseholes 🤣🤣 I know our protocol from discussing results they do tend to come from the Registrar or above grades which is a good thing I guess that a consultant is doing it because your getting the bees knees of the grades telling you what you’ve been waiting for all this time 💖

@Cyclogoose I never realised the price of things I know one of my friends have recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl from ICSI on second round, hopefully with your hubs history you might not need the extra top up support? Have you contacted local clinics to get the ball rolling from consultation points of views? Have you looked into the percentage rates of things and compared? I know there’s so many things to take onboard which can be overwhelming, whatever the outcome your virtual sisterhood are here each step of the way 💖 I can’t believe your chart hunny i think from doing the Hokey Cokey, now limbo, tomorrow it might even be up there to do a oops ups side your head song 🤣🤣🤣 let’s hope it behaves soon! I’m apparently CD 18, noted one bit of EWCM so took advantage of that, however I still don’t feel confident with ovulation side of things however baby dancing is a lot less pressured which has done wonders for our relationship it’s actually brought back the fun for things rather than the slight strain TTC can bring :’) we had a giggle earlier cause of my OPK HPT stash in the bathroom draw hub goes I’ve tided it up abit n bobbed them just down side I goes it doesn’t matter no doubt they’ll see some dust grow on them for first time in 9 month 🙈🙈 hope your having a stress free weekend! 💖💖

@mammaj21 fingers and toes crossed ovulation is just round the corner for you, I’ve had some cycles where I’ve ovulated late right up until about cd 27 👀👀👀 let’s hope it’s not the same case for you! Hope your having a lovely weekend!

Busy day at work ladies, going to settle tonight with homemade curry and homemade chips with all the sundries like pakoras and naans 😋 have a lovely weekend ladies xxx

CycloGoose · 22/05/2021 09:17

Gahhh @minthumbugs I'm sorry and sorry for adding to your hopefulness. I couldn't restrain myself!

I've gone from yoyo to how low can you go do the limbo! 36.11 today 🤣

minthumbugs · 21/05/2021 23:40

@CycloGoose I think I see a bit of something with full brightness brow full of wrinkles zoomed in staring at it 🤣 I honestly don't know. It's good when you take a test and are no further forward 🙄 I have one test left in the box so if AF doesn't arrive by Sunday I'll use it!

CycloGoose · 21/05/2021 23:31

@minthumbugs you might be graduating! 👩‍🎓🤣🥂 I'm so hopeful on your behalf since you're not getting yours up!
Tried to do it on the negative generator and I do think it's there lovely. Crossing everything xxx

minthumbugs · 21/05/2021 22:51

Wow @CycloGoose almost half the price added on! I always used to think ICSI would be the cheaper option but it makes sense. Hope it's tomorrow for you 🤞🏻

Same for you @mammaj21, have you been doing BBT or anything this month?

Still no full flow for me, kinda annoying timing as the later it goes, ovulation will be poor timing in June. Planning to visit family (restrictions going well!), but bubs will be sharing a room with us and also the walls are thin AF 🤣🙈

MammaJ21 · 21/05/2021 19:53

@CycloGoose

How's everyone doing? So glad it's Friday!

@minthumbugs did AF arrive? Really hope not.

@kaylsd that sodding pill has a lot to answer for! How are you both feeling?

@Kitty0389 did you ovulate earlier as expected? How did it go with the SA?

@mammaj21 what are your thoughts on ov?

I've not ovulated. Lowest temp yet today but I'm feeling good it's Friday. We're back on the DTD wagon. Went to an IVF webinar last night and that's spurred us into action.

We've kind of settled on a plan which is to test my dhea levels and supplement if it looks likely to help. We'll try that probably for 3 months and then move on to IVF if no joy. Try up to 2 cycles self-funded so can have the third with NHS still.

Were talking about icsi and the extra cost of that but hubs is confident in his swimmers since he's impregnated two different women before! Neither of whom I knew about until yesterday. One in his teens but also one in his thirties 🤦🏼‍♀️ At least he's talking now!

Hey. I'm glad you're feeling ok about the oh and had a good talk!

Still no ov for me! very strange! So confussing. maybe I'm just not going to ov this month 🤷‍♀️

Happy weekend everyone x

CycloGoose · 21/05/2021 16:14

The cheapest I've found IVF for is 2500 but it's an extra 1200 for icsi (where they inject the best looking sperm into the egg) @minthumbugs
So glad Kayls has helped you break through the barrier. A horrible but helpful conversation to be had I'm sure.
I went all the way to 36.13 last time so who knows to be honest! Ov tomorrow would be ideal but probably more like next week now.

OP posts:
minthumbugs · 21/05/2021 16:03

@CycloGoose is that £1000 per go? That is a lot. Wow I bet that's been hanging over him during your journey so far so he will be relieved now it's out in the open. You've taken it like a champ! And also with his ex being involved, that's crazy - but seems as if it's worked out for them all in the end. Now just to get that next step sorted for you guys 🥰 every man thinks they have super sperm 🙄😉 my OH used to joke that we were super fertile, 3 pregnancies in 3 years! Hopefully he hasn't jinxed us 😩😂
That's 2 months in a row we were supposed to be cycle buddies, damn bodies haha. Hopefully your body will start catching up now after all the disruption with MC and vaccine,
. Your temp looks low now, do you think that could be it?

@kaylsd so the midwife that looked after me phoned and I now have an appointment booked in with a consultant next week! Honestly thank you for the info it gave me the push I need to chase it up, I had no idea of any of the words you said in your message but I just threw them in there and it got me somewhere 🙈 I hope they actually have the results and they're not just phoning to tell me to wait a bit longer, but surely a consultant wouldn't phone just to tell you that I'm thinking?! It's been a long time coming, as much as I'm dreading it I'm looking forward to getting it over with. X

kaylsd · 21/05/2021 11:56

@minthumbugs

Thank you so much *@kaylsd*! 😘 I've just been on an investigation on the phone to about 100 different departments being passed about, no one seemed to know what to do with me. But eventually I got a lovely lady who is going to email a consultant and hopefully they will phone me back next week 🤞🏻
You're welcome darling I'm so glad you've finally got to the right area for you to get the answers you deserve and been waiting for quite sometime, I know sometimes things can take some time but it's always good to do a little nudge in the system between if no news🥰 🤞🏻
