Thanks @minthumbugs my GP gave me her full life story of TTC 😂 I think she just found comfort in offloading it all onto someone - I was happy to listen!

She said she had a bit of a meltdown at 1 year mark with no bfn. She specialises in gynaecology and felt that people assume she must be good at ttc. She felt like a failure and towards the end she was onto her husband like an angry woman: 'ok it's ovulation time and you better be prepared!' 😂

She said one thing though is the long wait makes you realise how much you want this baby. When you see that bfn after waiting for so long she said it'll be the happiest day ☺️

minthumbugs · 24/05/2021 10:33

Hey @aries491 welcome and good luck! Sorry about AF, hope you're ok. Hopefully this is the month for you. I've used the CB OPKs ☺️ they're easy to use, the only thing I don't like is the loooonggg wait first thing in the morning 😴 but I'm just impatient!

Hey @Veronika13 fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 the wait begins soon! Do you know what, I really like that your GP said that. It depends how it's said obviously but I've had a lot of GPs be really insensitive and show no empathy at all, and it's nice for them to speak from experience. Patience is a virtue and all that, but it's bloody rubbish 🤣

Hi @mousey3 how are you? What day of your cycle are you on? Good luck, I hope your journey is an easy one!

Symptoms are a bit of a head nip sometimes aren't they @rinylou? Wish PMS and pregnancy symptoms were clear as day! Me and one of my friends get terrible periods, really heavy and painful and we always used to say how great would it be if you could just get a text each month saying pregnant or not pregnant... Wishful thinking 😌

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 10:24

@minthumbugs I should be CD31 on Wednesday and going by my last two cycles that I should be spotting (being blood when I wipe, but not enough I have to go get my pads) and "gearing up" cramps. Expect full flow by mid-afternoon on the Thursday...

Just glanced in the mirror and think I'm getting a small break out on my chin so maybe AF is making her way...

Mousey3 · 24/05/2021 10:22

Little late to the party but just started my ttc journey. Lots to learn but sounds like you’re all a great support

Veronika13 · 24/05/2021 10:22

Just checking in, ovulation day tomorrow.

TTC since feb, I'm 34. Less and less hopeful with each month, but just KOKO and all that Smile

My GP told me it took her 16 months to get pregnant, so I'm just staying positive and one day I'll get that BFP :)

So lovely to see all the positive tests ☺️

Aries491 · 24/05/2021 10:21

Morning Ladies, hope you don't mind another one on this thread! I was on another one for a TWW in may but AF showed her ugly head yesterday lol onto the next cycle for me!

I have just recently turned 30 (OH is 31) and May was our first proper cycle trying so very new to how tricky it can be (think they lied in school lol!). I came off the pill last August so my cycles have regulated between 29-31 days. Just gotta get AF over and done with and then onto the next one, have bought some cb opks to try this time round, has anyone else tried those, if so how have you got on? Wishing everyone a nice Monday! :)

minthumbugs · 24/05/2021 10:18

Morning @KatieLooLa, I love that! Is it just me that loves a guy with a beard wearing make up? 🙈 And I'm not a massive fan of beards haha!

@Rinylou I totally get that, every BFN is just money down the drain and more turmoil 😭 but even when you get a BFN you're still like well until AF is here I still don't really know! How many DPO will you be on Wednesday? Hopefully that will be more definitive. Hahahaha... Solid 600 minutes a day obsessing over here too🤣

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 10:15

@KatieLooLa

Morning ladies! A rare day off for me, sat in bed with a cuppa, fur beast curled up next to me watching Call the midwife. Later will involve a lot of alcohol and giggling as my newly out the closet gay friend is coming round for a makeover. The plan is to start off subtle and by the end of the night he’s gonna look like a tart.... with a beard. I’ll be sure to take pictures 😂
@KatieLooLa this actually sounds like the PERFECT day!
Rinylou · 24/05/2021 10:13

@minthumbugs I'm sorry to hear about your loss too. It's such a scary experience. Great to hear you've had a little one since though, good job remaining tube! Smile

I've got one more Clearblue FRER (non digital) in the house - I had that Triple Check pack with one digi and two normals. I just feel like it will be another negative but then I'll think... oh, well it wasn't FMU so it doesn't count... and I'll have wasted a stick but still have no "closure"!

Doesn't help that one of the symptoms I'm spotting is insane amounts of needing to wee - this is very out of character for me (I famously have a ginormous bladder) EXCEPT for early pregnancy. It was one of the first things I noticed both times. But it means that other than my FMU, I'm pretty diluted.

Tuesdays are my day off with my little boy (until he goes to school in September, sob!) so tomorrow I should be nicely distracted (read: literally not get 20 seconds to myself from 7-7). I bet I'll crack Wednesday though when I'm sat back here "working" (my timesheet is going to be appalling this week... I work for a law firm so I have to account for every 6 minute block of my time... I don't think there's a time code for "obsessing over what sort of cervical mucus I have today").

Hi @Kitty0389 - good to hear I'm not crazy.... relatively Grin

@Rinylou Welcome to the madhouse!
If you are crazy then we all are, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
sorry to hear about the ectopic and the horrendous time you've had, that sounds so very rough.
Fingers crossed AF doesn't come this week, I'm not due for another 10days, but I think we have a few people due this week.
Good luck!

minthumbugs · 24/05/2021 09:50

That's my little Sammy @CycloGoose 🐶 love the options - your future kiddo might prefer to hear a Petri dish story rather than the opposite 🙈🤣 your dinner and treat sounds lovely, everything in moderation and the occasional school treat is always welcome!

Ohhh noooo @Kitty0389! There's always something with house renovations isn't there. I hope it doesn't set you back too much and it will all be worth it in the end. Good luck with this TWW, hope it's the one 🤞🏻

Hi @rinylou I really empathise with you reading your message. I've had a really similar experience to you - also had the same terrifying ectopic and salpingectomy and I have a son too. It took me a long time to recover mentally from the trauma, I hope you're doing ok and have lots of support around you. ❤️ Also just to mention I had my LO after losing the tube, so one tube wonders are possible and I'm hoping for a second! That is really frustrating with the tests, hopefully the second one just didn't have enough to work? We are all crazy here, so there's no judgement 😉 I had my second loss earlier this year and was getting a bit stressed with tracking so I've taken a break this month but I am somewhere in the TWW, thought based on natural signs AF was due last Thursday but it hasn't appeared yet! My app says tomorrow so waiting to see if it appears. Do you have any more tests, are you planning on testing again today or tomorrow? Best of luck and baby dust ✨

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 09:27

Good morning ladies! Hope you don't mind if I board this train...

I've got a lovely 4 year old boy and I sadly had a very dramatic ectopic experience three months ago (almost died, lost my right hand fallopian tube, grim grim grim all round).

With my son I took 10 cycles to conceive but was otherwise straight forward. I started off free and easy and ended up doing all the tricks, temping and OPKs and capsules of all sorts! With the ectopic, I had just come off the pill in preparation to TTC and fell immediately so it was a bit of a surprise! I was 30 when I fell pregnant with my son and I'm about to turn 35 this summer.

So this cycle was my first cycle back TTC after the ectopic loss. I have been doing OPKs since the loss to work out my cycle now (as I heard salpingectomy can make it longer or shorter). I tried to temp but my son just climbs into bed with me in the morning and I can't whack the thermometer "up there" when he's sitting on my chest Grin. Anyway, I've had two identical cycles - spotting and cramps (pretty strong) on CD28 and then nothing until full whack CD32, and bleeding for three days. I wasn't TTC either of those cycles as it's not medically recommended for three months/two cycles after an ectopic.

I would be staggered if I was lucky enough to have caught "first try", particularly now being a one-tube wonder! My OPKs weren't massively convincing either, but both apps I use pinpointed it 14 days before CD32 so I guess that tracks. The EWCM tell around then was spot on though so was probably right! But anyway, over the weekend I have been symptom spotting. I need to stop myself. But I have been pregnant twice now and it feels so similar to those early symptoms, and different from my normal pre-AF body. I bet my brain is playing tricks on me, particularly with my symptoms from the early days of what ended up being my ectopic being such a recent memory.

ANYWAY I'm banging on. So yesterday was CD28 and I waited for my cramps and spotting - nothing. So I started to feel cautiously optimistic. Today I bundled husband and son out the door to work/nursery and ran upstairs like a drug addict to POAS - I had one Clearblue digital - the ones that are meant to work 6 days before your missed period (period being due Thursday, with a bit of spotting anticipated Wednesday night, so should be well within that window). Followed the instructions, put it down flat away from me, told Alexa to set a timer for 3 minutes... ran back to it when the timer went off aaaaaaaaand... the bloody book error! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

So I squeezed out a little more FMU into a cup and used the Clearblue FRER (non-digital) that was also in the same box, and dipped for 20 seconds, etc etc. Stark blank, can't even pretend I might be able to see anything there Sad

I know I'm not out until the witch flies in, and I know I would be absolutely outrageously lucky to have caught this month, but I'm driving myself crazy today. I was at my goddaughter's 1st birthday party yesterday and I swear I could smell every baby in that garden Grin

Just desperate to chat with women who don't think I'm crazy! My husband is super superstitious and almost thinks the harder I focus on TTC the less likely we are to actually conceive?? And all my close friends either have small babies/are pregnant, and are all being super "careful" of me at the moment given the recent loss.

Anyone else due Wednesday/Thursday?

Kitty0389 · 24/05/2021 09:16

@kaylsd @CycloGoose Wow that IVF stuff is crazy. Such a postcode lottery. I think Bucks and Oxfordshire (which would be my two options as I live in one and am registered GP in the other so could always switch) are the most stringent. 2 years of trying, 1 cycle only and have to be

I’m alive and well! Unfortunately been ridiculously busy with work as everything is changing about so haven’t had a chance to chat with you all. Hopefully things will calm down soon!
Just waiting for 2nd vaccination (July) before I can get back to TTCing.
Ares doing well, malting like crazy! I’m sure my diet is 10% husky fur!
In the meantime will leave a pic of the furry beast.
Hopefully chat soon! X
Eeek glad to hear everything is alright with you darling, looking forward to seeing you back on board with the TTC life 🥰❤️

kaylsd · 24/05/2021 07:53

@cyclogoose don’t you be worrying missus you’ve got nothing to apologise I just didn’t realise how much the postcode lottery came into affect 🤣 on the section it just says 1 cycle fresh all frozen, I don’t know if that means they’ll give a go at fresh and frozen or what and my CCG stop offering IVF on NHS after 39th birthday :o what a set of tight arses is my area 🤣 I was looking at the criteria for the ABC as we have one in Leeds and I do think I’ll be able to fit that bracket if it came to it paying privately :) another day another madness no doubt in my job today, not gonna try get too stressed this week feeling abit zen zone with it all as it’ll not be healthy for my mindset in life 🙈 I think if we just all put a face mask on over our mouths and a small incision enough to drink through a straw and liquidise soup we might be at a good shot this week not to carve our temptations with good food 😋

CycloGoose · 23/05/2021 21:21

Ohhh stop it (don't stop) these pooches are totally adorable! @minthumbugs what's your babe called? Don't get it out the bin. I don't want to get your hopes up at all. It could easily just me seeing what I want to see. But it ain't over until AF comes in full force. I'm crossing fingers we see a proper double line there soon.

I'm just going to be as pragmatic as possible. We're lucky that we can pay for treatment and that science has got this far. I'm happy to have a Petri dish baby or a bedtime bonk baby 🤣

She's so gorgeous @katieloola thanks so much for sharing and take care. Glad you're well. Good luck for vaccine 2. I'm not letting it stop me from TTC though it's stopping me 🤣 delayed my ovulation nearly 2 weeks!

@kaylsd is your GP in the one cycle CCG? I think it's based on your GP rather than where you actually live. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to stress you out my love! It may not come to that anyway. You only need one egg and one sperm! It can happen. I'm in a one cycle place but it's one fresh, one frozen I think so that's almost like 2 cycles.
On this ABC one, I get one fresh. If I have any extras then I have to pay a grand for freezing and I think another grand and a half for a transfer. It's mental amounts of money, I swear. I'm so sorry I stressed you out. You've got to take one step at a time my lovely.

Also they can't ensure the eggs are better quality but that's the hope!

Hope you get to move jobs soon my lovely!

Dinner was yummy! Had a hot chocolate with marshmsllows afterwards. Yummy! How am I going to avoid staff room delicacies this week though? Such a sugar fiend and the treats are home baked by the kitchen staff and so delicious!

I did put chilli in the dinner. Mental note to wash hands lots and lots. We want it hot in the bedroom but not that kinda HOT!

Good luck @BethTTC how long have you been off BC?

Hi @BethTTC good luck 🤗 get at it and let the wait begin!

@kaylsd ahahahahhaha... So true, YOLO 😎 enjoy the treats!

Hey @KatieLooLa and ares! Good to hear from you. Sorry things have been so busy. And I get that with the dog hair, I find lab hairs in places they should not be 🤣 the culprit! Hope to see you back soon. Xx

@Tangfastic91

What a gorgeous fluff ball *@kaylsd* ❤️
Thank you sweetheart! She has such a warm temperament and so good around other animals and little ones

She's a little rascal sometimes like when she hides her ball in my dr martens instead of getting it out the way she placed it in, she chew through my laces to get it out that way 🙃🙃🙃

kaylsd · 23/05/2021 20:02
@kaylsd I feel like I know wee Mable personally now! 😍 How gorgeous. May have had a little treat for dinner today 😏 Monday tomorrow 🥗🍉🍌🍏

AF still hasn't arrived for me. My cycle was returning to a kind of normal, maybe not now 😩
This has been such a bad week for my diet I've ate out for tea I've had snacky snacks pats little rolley belly 🥺🤓 yesterday we had curry but I say we had curry we had curry naans onion baijis Samoa's and tikka bites, today I've had a bacon sandwich chocolate pastry and a yoghurt for lunch / breakfast, beef roast dinner with all the good stuff and a Asda's version of a magnum for a little sweet treat..

Diet starts again tomorrow 👀🤣🤣🤣 I'm gonna cringe but this message response deserves me to end it in yolo
So
Yolo
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

BethTTC · 23/05/2021 20:01

Had my first positive OPK at midday today. So hoping to DTD today and tomorrow. My period has been weird since coming off BC so just wanted to know for sure I'm ovulating.

minthumbugs · 23/05/2021 19:49

God really @CycloGoose? I thought I saw something on Friday but all I see is blank white on that one. Don't make me get it out the bin 🤣 if nothing tomorrow maybe I'll be on Amazon prime! THREE years omg!!! That's ridiculous. I'm really hopeful it happens for you prior to any extra interventions. Anything it takes to get your baba, but the quicker the better. That's great news about lucea! I'm so excited for her 😁 that is a very healthy choice, great willpower on a Sunday night 💪🏻

kaylsd · 23/05/2021 19:40

@cyclogoose Wowwwww that's a lot of info!! I've just checked the CCG and I'm gutted when I've read into it that it's just one cycle where I live however my postcode is 2 mile difference from the next CCG which is 3 fully funded I never realised how much of a post code lottery it really is!! It makes me a little bit apprehensive now to think we've only got one shot of it on the NHS then might have to look into private but I guess it's only the similar situation for many out there who's in the 1 cycle area, trying not to think too much into it now and fearing the worst but I never actually realised how much it depended on! Me and hub have savings and we would use them if it came to it in fairness I guess it’s something you don’t really consider until you start TTC :’) the mild I’vf sounds good for you darling am I right in saying they can make sure your eggs you do ovulate are focus on quality than quantity of eggs to release with the stims? I’m just sat here eating a choc ice Googling male vitamins for hub he’s started on the wellman men ones but he says they taste like gravy, I used to say this about the pregncare which is same brand 🤣🤣 work has been okay this weekend tomorrow looks bad for me but I’m gonna push to get the ball moving for leaving, been speaking to one of the girls who is also wanting to leave, it’s abit of a crazy place to be in right now! Thank you for all that insight sweetheart it’s really opened my eyes to it all! I hope you can get a date which matches up soon to get the process flowing for you 🤞🏻

CycloGoose · 23/05/2021 19:38

I've got line eyes on that one as well @minthumbugs maybe if no AF still tomorrow, take another test?

Sorry - Kayls asked hahaha!

Though I just looked and so good I am registered with GP in the next CCG (hubs is as well) because we'd be waiting 3 years if we were with our most local GP! Only 2 years where I am registered. Lucky.

Anyway, may still happen for us - who knows!

I'm going to cook quinoa and prawns to make up for cake and crisps yesterday.

Lucea has had her 12 week scan and has told the world which is exciting :)
