Just finished work ladies oh my days I feel like I’ve just stepped into the middle of the m1 motorway with how busy it’s been today let me catch up!

@kitty0389 fingers and toes crossed your TWW goes smooth for you darl, I know it’s hard not to symptom spot but we are only human too partial to a google now and again :’) I couldn’t believe the postcode lottery until last night I’ve simmered down and absorbed the information like a sponge now 🤣 my hub said is it to do with populated areas some are more than others I goes I doubt it’ll be anything to do with child to couple ratio for IVF I can see his insight thou 🙈

@Rinylou hello and welcome sweetpea! I feel like I’m one of the old school ladies who’s been around sometime, consider us like old wives full of wisdom and rants now again 🤣🤣 I’m so sorry to hear about your traumatic time with your ectopic pregnancy, I can only imagine what it was like as I used to nurse women who went through emergency surgery from rupturing from ectopic, so scary and so dangerous so I really so sympathise with what you had to go through 💖 fingers and toes crossed you get an outcome we all love to see for this cycle for you for your rainbow baby, I hate it when your in the limbo land where symptoms end up being like is this a little bubba inside of me or AF gonna bite me in the front bottom!! Have you tried an OPK? There’s tails of using them as a early indication for BFP as they struggle to differ between the tests principles :) my guilty pleasure of each cycle when my ovaries comply is to calculate due dates to see if any of my potential social plans of the year will end up me looking like a whale 🙃🙃🙃 however I’ve come to terms I’d be happy with that now 🤣

@KatieLoola absolutely sounds amazing your evening with your friend! You deffo need abit of cheesy pop / 90s throw back vibes going on to help your alcohol infusing makeover catch the full flow! Looking forward to seeing makeup lines be on point against a beard, the pressure is on to be a perfectionist here!

@Aries491 they litterally did lie to us all in school! I used to think it sat on a toilet seat what a boy used I would be chances of getting pregnant, how wrong off could I be! I’d be happy to sit and wiggle on that toilet seat after hubs these days if it gives me a sniff of a BFP 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve never had the posh CB OPK I’ve always used the cheap ones like easy@home and read them on the premom app but I’m sure some of the girls can give you some pointers when using it :)! Welcome to the mad house 🥰🥰🥰 we have gin, nibbles and matching t shirts for those who have non compliant ovaries for many reasons ❤️

@Veronika13 aww that’s so nice that your GP has been honest with how long it took her, there’s such a massive taboo around infertility I think where so many people don’t talk! Me and hub have been honest with people about it and a lot of people didn’t know what to say back to us 🙈 try not to get hopeful as each month passes, I see it as every new cycle means a new chance and a step closer to help depending on how long you’ve been trying for referrals to fertility support to achieve your BFP ❤️

@Mousey3 hey there darling and welcome :) how are you within your cycle which time frame are you up to? It’s never too late to join, me and some of the others on here though are on about getting a monthly bus pass to the TTC journey for discount as we have been around slightly a little while longer than some :p

@iloveoreos hey there lovey lady, I hope your keeping well 🥰 I’ve been plodding as I do but nothing much to report for my TTC just stalking my postman everyday looking out for clinical type looking letters 😂🤣👀 how long did it take for yours to come in the post chick? I’m being so impatient and it’s only been 5 days 🙃

@Purpleshoes123 don’t worry about not posting for a while we are still here no matter when you come back so welcome back sweetheart! In terms of the LH surge it can come just before AF but also can be a indicator for BFP, how are you other symptoms coming along / have you been tracking BBT? I always feel gutted when I cave and POAS even when I know it’s wrong time of the day, sometimes the urge comes over us too much 🙈

@Minthumbugs sending hugs sweetheart, absolutely sucks cheesy toes seeing BFN time and time after with no AF, I hope she doesn’t come for your appointment time you don’t need her to be that much of a inconvenience 😩😩 I litterally have the vibes when I have my long cycles and I just want to bleed n I’m like looking at myself in the mirror thinking y u uterus no shed why do you do thisssss🙈🙈🙈 always here as you know 🥰

Right I think I’ve caught up on everyone! What a busy day you’ve all had on here, note to self, check MN that little bit often! Nothing to report on my side ladies, tempted to get a day 21 progesterone finger prick test so I can see if I’ve ovulated yet as I’ve got a feeling I’m in for another long ride 🤣😩 story of my life these days! Got two days off now after a rough couple of days so tomorrow planning on doing abit of exercise walk pooch chores and all boring stuff what comes with the wife life 🙃 hope your all okay lovely ladies! Gonna attach this just for giggles as it's litterally me so much 🤣🤣🤣

KayL1988 · 24/05/2021 18:50

@MammaJ21 I tend to do same time everyday in the AM and if levels look high then I do another in evening so I don't miss my peak. Not sure if that's the right thing to do!

Purpleshoes123 · 24/05/2021 17:30

Thanks @minthumbugs and @Rinylou!

@MammaJ21 I usually try and do them the same time every day but I don't always choose mornings. Depends when I'm going to be working. I read you need to do then between 7am and 8pm so sometimes if I'm at work too early then I have to chose an evening time.

MammaJ21 · 24/05/2021 16:42

Wow, lots of action on here the last 24 hours or so. Going to try and catch up this evening properly.

Hope everyone is ok. Those of you in the TWW,keeping fingers crossed.

New members, welcome and sorry some of you find yourselves here after loss. This group is so supportive and helpful.

Update...another opk...negative. Really wondering if af will make her appearance this week!

In terms of times of day, when do you tend to opk test? I've seen some things say mornings, some say not mornings. If Im.hibest I haven't been great at doing them the rough same time every day lately due to various reasons, but tend to do in the pm when I manage to!

Iloveoreos · 24/05/2021 15:52

@minthumbugs im using opk stick to track but havent got a positive yet. Since ive been on metaformin i was ovulating day 14/15 but this cycle and last cycle is way over that so not sure. As i was reffered to fertility a few months back I do have a call with a consultant in 2 3 weeks so lets see. And thats only because i was asking the fertility nurse lots of questions including why my cycles messed up all of a sudden while on metaformin because that shouldnt happen .and then she said do u want to speak to consultant..which ive been wanting to for a while so got that.

Aries491 · 24/05/2021 15:49

@minthumbugs indeed it does haha and we have to be selfish at times when it comes to life! We've been talking about it for ages but time runs away with careers and courses and life and we suddenly just made the decision this year to go for it and see how long it takes and what happens!

Timings are difficult, I am halfway through a course at the moment but just been thinking if and when it happens I will cross that bridge when it comes! I think with us women timing can be key with babies and other things can wait.

So sorry to hear about the BFN :( hopefully AF isn't too long so you can get going for the next cycle. I felt the same this weekend just gone, my first BFN and just desperate for AF to start. Sending baby dust for the next cycle :)

minthumbugs · 24/05/2021 15:39

Busy thread today!

@Veronika13 that's tough. Just shows even when you know the science and what to do/what not to do it will just happens when it happens. So true, every month you just want it more and more.

@rinylou yeah I've seen those fancy bracelets! Would definitely be worthwhile if you're into charting temps, takes the hassle out.

Hey @iloveoreos good to hear from you! Have your cycles got any better, how have you been? Have you been speaking to your gp or anyone?

Oh fab @Mousey3 you're at the exciting bit! Good luck ✨ I'm trying for no. 2 after an ectopic and then have been trying again for 4 months after a MC in Jan.

@aries491 ahhh that's a tricky one. Baby comes before wedding 🤣 But hopefully you can get the perfect timing that works for you. I'm in a similar situation with timing, got a course I want to do but all just depends what happens!

Hey @Purpleshoes123 hope you get a BFP tomorrow morning🤞🏻

So AF has still to arrive for me, but took a CB digi today and BFN. 👎🏻 Just wish it would come so I can get it over with already, this waiting is just the worst 😭 feeling pretty down about it. What will probably happen is I'll get it the day of my appointment 🙄

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 15:17

@Purpleshoes123 I did the OPK and got a faint line - a million miles from positive (the Premom app rated it as a 0.1 Low result it was so faint). So an actual positive on yours the same DPO sounds, well, positive!! Fingers crossed for you, keep me informed!!

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 12:15

@Purpleshoes123 I'm going to try and wait until Wednesday FMU if I can (and there's still been no spotting). I have a day off with my preschooler tomorrow so hopefully he'll keep me busy and distracted enough I can get to 14DPO/day before expected AF and so if it's still BFN I can at least be more at peace with it than I am today!!

A positive on an OPK is a very good sign for you though! It was me getting a positive on an OPK when I thought I'd had a miscarriage and was on a new cycle that was the start of me really realising I was having an ectopic pregnancy so I can confirm first hand they do react to HCG!! Might do one (an OPK I mean) when I next go to the toilet and confirm what another 12DPO OPK looks like for you Hmm (although of course won't be FMU).

Purpleshoes123 · 24/05/2021 12:04

@Rinylou glad I'm not alone! It's so hard isn't it. I feel like I've done very well not POAS until this point to be honest. I would do it every day if money wasn't an issue, and also the disappointment of BFN is hard. Are you going to test tomorrow?

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 12:02

@Purpleshoes123 I feel you so hard right now!! CD12 for me right now and I expected spotting and cramps yesterday but nada. My only digital in the house had an error message this morning and then there was a stark BFN on the non-digital. I feel like I could run out at lunchtime and get another digital but need to wait for FMU anyway as if I get another BFN I'll just convince myself my wee wasn't concentrated enough and we go round and round in circles!! Confused

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 11:57

Oh god @Iloveoreos - it's never easy is it Confused

Wish we could just unzip and peek inside...

Purpleshoes123 · 24/05/2021 11:54

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted on here for a while, I've been really busy with work. Welcome to everyone who has joined! And also I am LOVING the dog pics, keep them coming!

12dpo now and I normally get spotting from 11dpo and none has come. I bought some FRER today but they are stupidly expensive so don't want to waste them. So I just did OPK because I heard they can pick up hcg (and also because I'm impatient and just want to POAS) and it was positive. But I've also heard that you can get an LH surge before period is due? Anyone else heard this?
I know I should just use the FRER but I feel like I should atleast wait until the morning now for FMU.

Mousey3 · 24/05/2021 11:27

@Rinylou sounds like you’ve had a rough old ride and I hear that symptom spotting is so addictive I just know I’ll be the same. I’ve got everything crossed for you!

Iloveoreos · 24/05/2021 11:23

@Rinylou waiting for ovulation. Last cycle and this one has been haywire in terms of dates. Even on metaformin. No idea why :(

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 11:18

Good morning @Iloveoreos whereabouts are you in your cycle?

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 11:15

Having a little mini-break this weekend - just taking our son to London (belated birthday present from his 3rd birthday May 2020!!). Leaving on Friday and AF due Thursday...

I'm starting to do the packing and I'm eyeing up my bag of sanitary pads reproachfully (I use reusable/cloth pads so the rest of the month they all just live in a cloth bag in my airing cupboard). Still hoping you remain unused this month you bastards Grin

Aries491 · 24/05/2021 11:15

Hi @minthumbugs thank you, I'm fine first proper cycle trying so tried not to be too bummed out just gotta keep going. Although I am bridesmaid for a friend in April next year so almost trying to time around that despite my OH telling me not to live my life for other people and that we really want a baby 😅 nice to hear you have used them before, think i will be the same though I am really impatient haha!

Hi @Rinylou that's why I fancied them, the smiley face seems easy to read lol just cb ones tend to be pricier than the others but suppose worthwhile investment I hope!!

Hope we see some BFPs from us all soon :)

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 11:11

@Mousey3 I'm TTC no. 2 (just-turned 4yr old son and an ectopic pregnancy that resulted in emergency surgery 3 months ago). I'm on cycle 1 of TTC after the surgery so I'm probably at the start of a long old slog - I've only got one fallopian tube now. I'm on CD29 and period expected Thursday, driving myself loony symptom spotting but absolutely stark BFN on Clearblue this morning! Sad

Mousey3 · 24/05/2021 11:07

Hi @Rinylou thanks for the welcome! Hoping this is a short journey too but also preparing to be realistic. Where abouts in your journey are you?

Mousey3 · 24/05/2021 11:06

Hi @minthumbugs. I’m well thanks, how are you? I’m currently on CD13 and starting to notice my usual signs of ovulation so will take an OPK today and hopefully good to go on the BD front later! Where abouts in your journey are you?

Iloveoreos · 24/05/2021 11:06

Morning ladies. How have you all been

KatieLooLa · 24/05/2021 10:55

@minthumbugs @Rinylou
Welll my friend came up to me saying he’d been playing around with a makeup filter on Snapchat and wanted to try wearing makeup for real, I jumped at the chance!
I don’t have a lot of female friends here, so I get my girly day with my gay friends instead, another gay friend coming too but I’m going to just paint his nails.

@Veronika13
I think that’s why I like to come here and hear everyone else’s stories, it’s nice to know I’m not the only one that’s still waiting for that BFP after trying for so long.

Rinylou · 24/05/2021 10:50

@Veronika13

Thanks *@minthumbugs* my GP gave me her full life story of TTC 😂 I think she just found comfort in offloading it all onto someone - I was happy to listen!

She said she had a bit of a meltdown at 1 year mark with no bfn. She specialises in gynaecology and felt that people assume she must be good at ttc. She felt like a failure and towards the end she was onto her husband like an angry woman: 'ok it's ovulation time and you better be prepared!' 😂

She said one thing though is the long wait makes you realise how much you want this baby. When you see that bfn after waiting for so long she said it'll be the happiest day ☺️

@Veronika13 this is so true - although I only had a ten month wait for my son, that feeling when I saw the positive test, oh my god. I get butterflies just thinking about it now, almost 5 years later!
Rinylou · 24/05/2021 10:43

Hi @Aries491 I haven't used the CB OPKs but I think I might have to invest next cycle... I've been using the Easy@Home strips along with the Premom app to "read" them and they've just so faint I can't believe the app is taking them as positive. I need a nice clear smiley face to be sure!

Good luck @Veronika13 - presumably you're getting down to business later?? Wink

Hi @Mousey3 - welcome to what I hope is a short and stress-free journey for you!

@minthumbugs I agree, this whole fertility nonsense needs far better administration! You're either not TTC and you've always a bit nervous you're suddenly accidentally pregnant (well I was in my 20s anyway!!) and annoyed you have to put up with the pain/disruption of periods... or you're like me, sat here obsessing over your cervix and wishing you could just take a quick peek inside to see what's occurring!!

I may crack and get one of those expensive fertility tracker bracelets if I'm not pregnant by the end of the summer. It will solve my issue of not being able to manually temp in the mornings, and also it will make me feel a little bit more in control/in the know about what's going on with my body, which - I'm sure you understand - is a peak anxiety after the ectopic experience! I had zero idea how many weeks I was that whole time because I hadn't had a period since coming off the pill and hadn't tracked ovulation, so doctors kept telling me there was nothing on my sonograms because I was too early, but I knew I wasn't and there was something nefarious going on...

If I was able to have temped this cycle at least I'd have likely seen the temp fall that signals AF by now and could be a little more relaxed (ha!).
