How embarrassing!! Enough to put you off having joint showers for life!

Can hear dh snoring from here so think it's time for me to retire - having my hormone blood tests re-done tomorrow morning - joy.

x

Congrats Cosybear! Envious ?? Only very! You'll be fine!

MunnzieB · 04/11/2004 22:30

LMAO bibi, well thanks for making me smile hon! lol. (i'll have to remeber to sut the curtains then when I do that in the bathroom, (our neighbours are a bit pervy) and had great delight in telling us on a social occassion that they could tell who was in our shower but the silouette in the window. DH is 6'3 and i'm 5'2 but still it was rather rude. (that window is now covered when in use!)

MunzieB - (whispering back) I learnt about checking cervix in Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler (or similar surname - too lazy to go and find book to check spelling!) It's not for the faint-hearted but a useful check if you're up for it!

When you are ovulating your cervix gets higher, it softens and is quite open - this is so that it's in the optimum place and state for swimmers to get through (clever eh?). Before and after ovulation it is lower, harder (like the end of your nose feels, sort of cartilidgey) and closed.

To check it you need to do a self James Herriot (although shouldn't need to remove watch / roll up sleeves!). Have a good feel around and see if you can find it. It will probably take a number of attempts over a few days to be sure - have a go at different times of your cycle and you'll feel the difference.

By the way you should pick one position for checking (e.g. standing with one leg on the bath or crouching down or whatever) and use that one all the time so that you're comparing like with like. It's easier to find it when you're crouching but not so convenient!

Happy hunting!

congratulations cosybear and cyndii!
well i have continued feeling really wierd all day, funny tummy, heavy abdomen, and crampy feelings. only on day 20 so don't know what it all means. crampy feeling is strange, i don;t remember getting that before. of course i've convinced myself that it is because i have an ectopic pregnancy lol! didn't feel like this with any of the others, i didn't really pay attention with any of the others, just stopped using contraception and withina few months realised one day i was late, did a test and that was it! none of this counting and wondering if i was ovulating and waiting to test etc. life was simpler then!
so if i had an ectopic when would i start to get pains?!

Bibi20 · 04/11/2004 22:01

Congrats Cosybear - don't hate you at all (well not much anyway! )

Cosybear · 04/11/2004 21:25

Hello everyone ,
AAAARRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did three tests last night and one this morning and all BFP!!! I am 37 and this is my first pregnancy - i am terrified !!!! hope this is normal !!!????????

Has all been a big shock cause this was the first month of trying - hope you all don't hate me !
I have a 27/28 day cycle and today is day 27! My boobs have been sore and heavy for over a week - was trying not to think about it too much !

I used the Medisave OPK's and it was +ve for 3 days and only bd'd 3 times .

Did a medisave ultra sensitive test last night and got a very faint line and rushed out to buy and First response and locked myself out the house in the panic - DH was out had to do test in my neighbours house as she saw what a state i was in !!!!

Please anyone tell me it is normal to feel so terrified at this stage , it is all so hard to take in . !!!! I have 4 cats and hope i can cope with it all !
Keeping it quiet just now (v hard ) as it is so early on but have told my mum and DH parents !!!!!!!!!!!! oops.

Loads and loads of babydust to you all
++*++++++++** xxx

MunnzieB · 04/11/2004 19:18

without sounding dumb, ((whispers in ears)) I don't know how to check for the cervix bibi, what tips to I need to look out for?

jeddah · 04/11/2004 19:13

GOOD MORNING TANIA.....CD15 FOR YOU!!!! yipee.

jeddah · 04/11/2004 19:09

hester!....its your 'ttc sister' here again.
Just looked at your stats to remind me of your situation.....we are similar!!!!!!!!!!!!! have you ever had any fertility tests??

you are ttc 10 months and I am ttc 11 months......keep going girl!!!

its true what they say,,,,....... instead of all this predicting of ov.... just regular bd before ov, at ov and a bit after ov!!!!! covers all angles

I have found that we concerntrated so much on predicting that we were very rigid in our bding....I am told it just doesn't happen like that!......just bloody bonk as much as you can!!!

jeddah · 04/11/2004 19:03

hester........join the club! I have felt so strange these last few days.....very hormonal and pist off with all this ttc......It will happen honey..... me and you have to prove to them all that being 40yr is not about being ready for the rubbish tip!!! its about celebrating and proving to the world that we are still in the game!!!!!

PLEASE PLEASE BELIEVE ME, it will be our turn very soon!!!!!!!!!! {{{{{{{grest big massive hug}}}}}}}

BeckiF · 04/11/2004 18:28

Hester - let's get on that baby hunt!! Chin up

MommyD · 04/11/2004 18:24

Bibi20 - yes I have had that occasionally. Real nausea for almost the whole two weeks, only for AF to arrive.
Then again, when I was pg with ds1 and ds2, I ALSO felt sick for most of the two weeks. Cruel, isn't it!?

Bibi20 · 04/11/2004 18:14

Me again!

Having one of those cycles where I feel sick between O and af - so cruel cos I've had this before and not been pg - does anyone else get this?

Bibi20 · 04/11/2004 18:13

Tania2 - Starflower oil is like Evening Primrose oil but got a higher concentration of the good stuff (gla I think). It's definitely done good things to my CM!

Definitely take it up until O (O = ovulation MunzieB!) and then stop, but agree it's difficult if you're not sure if you've O'd yet. Don't think it would be the end of the world if you took it for a few days past O - any eggie would still be making its way down your tubes at that time... Have you tried checking your cervix to see whether you've O'd yet?

MunzieB - I don't think there's any harm in your taking supplements all the way through your cycle whilst dh is away - a lot of women take these things when not ttc - think they're generally good for 'wimmin's troubles'. Then again, they seem to be pretty quick acting, so if you did stop and start I don't think you'd lose out.

SilverLining - so with you on Carol Vorderman - what was she like?!!

Bibi20 · 04/11/2004 18:05

Congrats Cyndii!

Sorry to hear about af bonkers - not sure why it's so heavy but ol' Auntie Flo loves changing it around for me - some months heavy and harsh, some barely there...

Sorry that you're having cramps Nasa and Hester - it ain't over yet though - you never know! If you're looking for positive messages, you could do a separate thread and ask MNetters not on the conception boards for their success stories - someone who had PCOS did this a while ago - the stories that came back made me cry! (in a good way !)

nasa · 04/11/2004 17:56

I know hester it's weird isn't it - we do seem to be in sync - maybe next month will be lucky for both of us {{{more hugs}}} have a good night

MunnzieB · 04/11/2004 17:45

come on hester, keep ur pecker up! lol

Hulababy · 04/11/2004 17:38

Wow, congratulations Cyndii

Hulababy · 04/11/2004 17:35
