MommyD, that's wonderful news. Huge congratulations to you

BeckiF · 16/11/2004 15:07

I'm on max dose Metformin (3g) which took me an age to get up to due to the nasty side effects. Apart from that, I'm down for IVF (ICSI) but I could of started that a year ago but chose not to because I wanted to lose some weight. Now it's a yeat later and I'm the same weight. Think we will just try a go anyway.

ernest · 16/11/2004 14:54

mommy d -my darling ds3 will be 1 tomorrow , so i guess I'll have similar gap bwn 3 & 4 (if i conceive reasonably soon) as you'll have bwn 2 & 3. i'll have 4 under 6 - don't these stats sound great! i'm still doing my head in - given away by my presence here again.

Beckif, sorry you're feeling so down. I'm not surprised, it's a huge hurdle you're facing. I'm doing my head in after only trying a month and already blessed with 3. i feel humbled when brought back to reality with such tough situations like yours. I really really hope it happens for you. and soon. i don't know anything at all about pcos. what can the docs do for you/have they done? really wish you well, hope my trivial angsts don't annoy you too much. you take care

BeckiF · 16/11/2004 14:49

I'm currently CD16, and if I have the same length cycle as last time I should start testing on CD19 according to the details in the OPK box. I just wanted to start early so that I wouldn't miss it (IF it happens)

ernest, sallie - ds1 is 2. ds2 is 1!!! There is 15 months between them. Not sure of due date at all yet, but probably due in July? There will be 23 months between ds2 and the new one. I must be mad. Assuming all goes to plan, I will have three kids of three and under. OMG.

RudyDudy · 16/11/2004 14:09

oh beckif sorry - hadn't realised your cycles were so irregular. Was just trying to think of something to suggest - but I'm sure you've thought of it all for yourself already. Sorry not to be of more help but will send babydust and positive thoughts your way. Oh, and keep my fingers crossed for another 'short' cycle. What CD are you on now?

BeckiF · 16/11/2004 14:01

Persona is no good for PCOS, I know that much, because you need to have relatively regular cycles and my last 2 were 365 days and then 40 days. I thought I'd try a bunch of OPK's just to see what it showed. At the moment it just seems to be depressing me! Ah well, the joys (not) of TTC when everything is against you. It's not even as though I think "Ah weel, at least I have my looks and figure", because I don't! I am extremely overweight and have a beard, and chest hair. I am thankful that I have a gorgeous dp who adores me and treats me like a queen, so I have that and always will, regarldess of if we never share in the joys of having our own baby.

RudyDudy · 16/11/2004 13:42

btw - I don't have PCOS but I do have endo

RudyDudy · 16/11/2004 13:42

BeckiF - sorry to hear you're feeling low . You may have discounted this already but as it seems to be the topic of the moment - have you thought of trying Persona? I don't know if there's a reason PCOS sufferers can't use it or not but I do know it is really easy to use and I know lots of people that have had success with it (me included!)

Hope you feel better soon. (((hugs)))

BeckiF · 16/11/2004 13:37

Conrats MommyD

Sorry to say that I am feeling extremely low today. Read more posts that say that OPK's are no good for PCOS sufferers. I did have a temp drop and rise about 7 days into my cycle and the line on my opk was darker although still neg. The last two days have been very feint. All very emotionally draining, and dp feels it too. We reaaly want to so this naturally, and I cling to my premonition, even though in reality I know it was jut a dream that reflects the deep and burning longing we both have . Keeping my chins up though.

RudyDudy · 16/11/2004 13:16

ernest - all sympathies - I was 3 days late this month and it drove me completely potty - I couldn't think about anything else. If you can I would suggest trying to wait and test just because it is soooo expensive and a BFN won't necessarily tell you anything and it will be one more thing to drive you mad! I'm not really one to talk as I did early tests but I will try not to do that again as I'm not sure there really is any point.

RudyDudy · 16/11/2004 13:13

MommyD - Congratulations! That is such wonderful news. Oh, and well done you for waiting to test!!

I do love to hear about people getting pg as it reminds me that it is possible and we are not all going loony chasing some impossible dream.

So ladies what do you all think - on that very positive note shall we start a new thread???

Congrats again mommyD. Please don't forget to sprinkle lots of your fertile babydust our way...

Sallie · 16/11/2004 13:05

ernest - know exactly how you feel. And I'm not a great person to advise as I did lots of silly early tests this month. But hang in there and really hope it will be good news for you.
MommyD - great news. What are your age gaps?

ernest · 16/11/2004 13:03

oh, mommy d, does that mean you'll be end July? How close will your 3 be then? What do you have already?

I'm starting to go round the bend with this. Been having period type pains for few days. Af due Friday. Not like me to have pains before, don't usually have much during. also had a bit of a hot flush last night, so mommyd's words have got me wondering, but obviously can't test till friday at earliest. it's unlikely to be but all this thinking about it is driving me crazy. Woke up couple of times in the night & it was on my mind then too. How do you lot cope? how will I survive till Friday or Saturday - should wait till then really I supoose.

sweetheart · 16/11/2004 12:56

Just popped back to say a huge congratulations to you MommyD!!!!!!

runtus · 16/11/2004 12:55

Tessiebear · 16/11/2004 12:54

Congratulations MommyD!!!!!!!!!! When are you due?

MommyD · 16/11/2004 12:35

AF should have shown on Sunday (cd28), ernest. It was feeling hot at night for the last few nights that got me thinking....

Sallie · 16/11/2004 12:32

Wow - congrats MommyD - wonderful news.

ernest · 16/11/2004 12:27

omg mommyd I'm so pleased & excited for you. congratulations!!!! When was af due to arrive? sorry to hear about your friends, but don't let it dent your confidence. savour these exciting moments! fab fab fab

SilverLining · 16/11/2004 12:24

Very quiet indeed but surely this will pick things up a bit!! CONGRATULATIONS MommyD!!! Great news - really pleased for you!!!

Fingers crossed all goes in the right direction!

Bring on the crowds???

xxxx

MommyD · 16/11/2004 12:20

Hello ladies!!! Very quiet here today...

Well I tested last night with Clearblue and I got a BFP straight away!!!

Feeling very nervous about it because of a few reasons - I had very bad AF cramping and lower back pain last night (but I also had this with both my other pgs). I also had a tiny bit of brown spotting last night. Also three of my closest friends are pg and ALL three have miscarried in the last week (at 6, 10 and 11 wks). The only people I have told are dh and you ladies.

Symptoms were: tingly, zingy bbs up until 7dpo, very bad AF cramping and lower back pain 7-8dpo, then nothing until 2 or 3 days ago when I kept on waking up at night feeling very, very hot and a bit sick...

SilverLining · 16/11/2004 10:36

Hi everyone! Nothing to add to all the persona conversations although I do know of someone who got pg twice using it ..............as a method of contraception!!! So if thats not the greatest advert for it I don't know what is!!!

Bibi20 - Come Dancing was great - my Saturday nights are now on hold I love it so much!! DD was dancing like a demon - fairly amusing seeing a 2.5 trying to do a paso doble!!! Dairmond finally went out although he did a better dance! Jill Halfpenny continued to be amazing and Denise Lewis carried on being sooooo competitive! Set your video next time!!!

Tania2 good news with you - sadly I tempted fate too much and DD was up half the night with one thing after another (new slippers which she wouldn't take off got tangled up in her blanket ..... baby books don't tell you that sort of broken nights do they???!) DH flying to Holland this morning so was up at crack of dawn and then cab tooted his horn and woke whole street up and DD at 5am!!! Grrrrrrr - feeling good today!! Coffee time???

Have a good day everyone!

xxxx

runtus · 16/11/2004 08:38

Morning girls, how is everyone today then?

Still no af for me, have got backache though! I'm sure it's totally unrelated but hurts loads and is taking my mind of the long wait!

Getting a bit twitchy now but trying desperately to hang onto to the sense of reality which tells me I'm not pg as my blood tests said I didn't ov this month and my cycles have been 40 days in the past, so still some way to go. Think I might have to tell myself I can test if I still haven't come on after that, seem sensible to you guys?

DP has a cold so it looks like it'll be "I'm dying and you don't care" for the next week for me!

Munnzieb · 16/11/2004 07:27

fingers crossed this time Jeddah. Jave just done the test kits, and on call was pos again and clear blue was neg, (CB had one line fainter as well) but on call's were exactly the same, how can that be two days on the trot? which test should i trust? have any of u guys used on call and got pg?
