MunnzieB - I feel sick if I take all my supplements on an empty stomach! Especially found that with Pregnacare, so stopped taking it and just take folic acid instead (hope diet supplies other vits for now)

HTH

jeddah · 08/11/2004 14:18

sorry munnzieb......don't know much about the supplements...I am sure others will help!

jeddah · 08/11/2004 14:16

tania....just posted a friggin essay on your thread about sleep, on sleep training

Hope this helps, get back to me!

runtus · 08/11/2004 14:11

Afternoon ladies, just got back from the doc's with a prescription for Clomid, so it looks like my friend was right about the long cycle being an indicator of no oving.....have to say I am really really pleased to have been treated so sensibly even though we have only been trying for 6 months. I thought I would get told to go away and just keep trying but he actually listened to me when I said I knew something was up. being told I'm not oving sounds like bad news, but I am really pleased! At least for now I know it wasn't something we were or weren't doing right and we have a course of tablets to kick-start my system. Hooray!

Thanks Sweetheart for sending the ov testing kits across (meant to say earlier but got carried away!). I asked the doc if I was ok to use them when I'm on the Clomid and he said it shouldn't interfere at all, as they are basically a smaller version of the tests they do at the hospital anyway.I have to start the course on day 2, for 5 days and then have another blood test on day 21 to check I did ovulate.

Bit worried by all the talk of multiple birth risks but hey ho.....something to think about at a later date I guess!

Not had a chance to read through everyones posts but hope it is going well for everyone - I'll be back at work romorrow so expect an increase in postings from me!

jeddah · 08/11/2004 13:48

Tania...have you gone to bed, its 1.40pm here just got in from the gym and had some lunch, was hoping to catch you.

Not read your thread yet on the sleep thing!.....remind me how old is your ds? and how long has he been visiting your bed?......has he ever slept through?, is he in his own room?
what are your dh thoughts on the sleep thing?

Nikkichick sorry about af!

bibi20.......so sorry you are feeling sad ...keep smiling ...you know you have all of us to go through this with you!

Tania, I think I ov on cd13/14, and I am only cd18 today so I will not be testing for another 10 days yet!.....know what you mean about Sex and the City.....my favourate programme in the whole world, I winged at every episode

Bloody dh and dp....wish they were a bit more understanding!!!

MunnzieB · 08/11/2004 13:41

hi girls,

Will look in properly tonight at home, just I have a quick question, is it normall to feel sick when you take angus catus, starflower and pregnacare? I've got AF vistin still so don't know if that contributes to anything?? Thanks

RudyDudy · 08/11/2004 13:39

imo you have to wait until the day you are going to test before you buy it or the temptation is just too great - no matter how much your head may know it's not worth doing it.

Geordie · 08/11/2004 13:33

14dpo at least sallie...some woemn get bfp's at 12dpo and I have a mate who got one at 11...but to get a good strong positive you need to waiot till 14 dpo at least - like that's easy................NOT

Sallie · 08/11/2004 13:31

I bought the test ostensibly to use next week but just couldn't resist even thought I know in the back of my mind that it will be a bfn. Feel stupid and disappointed. Given that I only ov last Monday/Tues, it is too early yet, isn't it??? How long should you wait between ov and testing????

RudyDudy · 08/11/2004 13:25

Hi Sallie - lol. makes me feel much better than I'm not the only early testing loon around I bought a FR on Saturday - did the first one then (BFN) and told myself I'd wait until at least Thurs to do the second. Er, I did yesterday afternoon - still BFP (of course!!) How stooopid am I???

RudyDudy · 08/11/2004 13:24

bonkerz - just re-read your thread and realised I completley misread it first time. sorry No advice to give re OV except perhaps start BD earlier and for longer...

Sallie · 08/11/2004 13:23

stupidly I bought a first response twin pack today and used one this morning at work. Only on cd26 and ov 19/20 so not surprisingly got a bfn. However, not really expecting a bfp because of the week I had last week when I was ov. However, it doesn't stop the disappointment, does it?

RudyDudy · 08/11/2004 13:17

Sallie - sorry to hear DD is still not well. Hope she feels better soon.

Nikkichik - sorry to hear your DD is also not well. It really is that time of year My DS has had cough now for about a month but fortunately no D&V.

ChaCha - I didn't take anything after the lap. They were going to give us a year of ttc before doing anything else and we were lucky enough not to need it.

Sorry to hear about AF bonkerz

I'm CD31 today and thinking of buying another First Response test this afternoon. I know I should wait until Friday when AF is due as it will just get stupid and expensive if I test this early every month but it's taking every last bit of willpower not to. And I'm going to walk past a chemist later...

RudyDudy · 08/11/2004 13:12

Tania - I can completely sympathise with the emotional ups and downs. I was like that all last week and literally cried at anything. I felt completely all over the place, had really tense conversations with DH and spent most of Saturday wanting to hide under the duvet!! Fortunately I did manage to force myself to go out with some of my girl friends on Saturday and was so glad I did. Someone asked me how things were going and (with a couple of bottles of wine inside me ) I told her! It was like the flood gates opening and I realised that I had been bottling loads of things up and it had left me on the road to being a nervous wreck. Woke up Sunday morning like a different person feeling more relaxed and happpier than I have in ages - I even felt lighter !! Sorry that's gone on a bit but I wanted you to know that you're not alone in what you're feeling and that it happens to us all. I know it's difficult but try not to be too hard on yourself. All the very best for DS' sleep - you will have to be strong but tell yourself you are in it for the long game and you will all benefit in the end. (((hugs)))

bonkerz · 08/11/2004 13:11

OK so here we go again! Had af arrive on friday morning, was really heavy and 2 days late. AF usually lasts 4 days but i had finished by Sunday morning! Have lookad at an ov calculator and says ov date is 16-20 but am not 100% sure cos af was early and shorter. What should i do? I have some medisave ov tests kits but not sure if they are any good? Any advice would be gratefully recieved!

Bibi20 · 08/11/2004 13:07

Sallie, sorry, I meant to ask how your dd was today. Sorry to hear she's still not right, thinking of you...

Tania - good luck with the sleep thing!

Twiga - thanks for your thoughts!

x

Nikkichik · 08/11/2004 12:07

Thanks all - I'm sure dd is fine (fingers crossed and I haven't heard from nursery yet!)- she's a resilient little thing and there are so many bugs going around at nursey she was bound to get something soon. Am trying not to be too down about af - keep telling myself the time is obviously not right yet (but when will it be!) and am 'not' going to start worrying that me and my eggs are too old and need help!!! - not yet!
Hope you are feeling better Tania2 and that you all manage to get some sleep!

Sallie · 08/11/2004 12:04

Thanks for all your kind thoughts re dd. She was still sick Friday and Sat but was seemingly better yesterday so we took her to nursery this morning. Sadly they called me at 10 to say she had been sick again and has diahorrea. Am starting to worry as this has been going on for a long time now (over a week) and she hasn't eaten any solids (apart from a rusk or two) for a long, long time. Niki - hope your dd is better. There seems to be something quite horrid going around at the moment in the form of a gastric-type bug.

Twiga · 08/11/2004 11:56

ps: took me a while to get back over here,a s was reading your sleep thread - not sulking honest - can't help with this one, but here for a chat if you find yourself up and I'm online, lol x

Twiga · 08/11/2004 11:53

Tania, it's cool, it's one of those things that's true but probably annoying when said at the wrong time. No offense taken, {{{hug}}} - hope the sleep thing is going well for you tonight, sleep well x

Tania2 · 08/11/2004 11:37

Twiga?????......sorry.....are you there????

{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}} Tania, Sallie, Bibi and Nikkichik x

Tania, glad you've got some support on the whole crying issue - hope all the hormonal ups and downs are because you are pg, really hoping you are x

Sallie and Nikkichik, hope your dds are feeling brighter and that you both get the chance to relax a bit today x

Bibi, it's hard isn't it, it'll happen, hang on in there ++++++++++++**+

CD13 here, plodding on as usual......

Bibi20 · 08/11/2004 11:08

Sallie & Tania

I'm sure I'm not pg, but I'm certainly hoping... have been doing the bb squeezing (dh leant on me last night and I thought 'oo - that hurt, is it sign?' yes, a sign that dh is too heavy to lean on your chest like that!!) and checking for nipple changes (none).

I'm not 100% sure of my O date, so Thursday is the earliest af could be due - no doubt I'll wake up really early and run to the loo to test, having dreamt about being pg all night!

I nearly cried on Saturday when we went to see friends who have a 6 week old baby. When we arrived I went into the kitchen to talk to the daddy who was cooking, when I went into the living room a few mins later dh was cuddling and winding the baby - he had the muslin over his shoulder and everything - and he just looked so natural and perfect doing the daddy thing that my eyes welled up and I had to look away...
