Thanks Tessiebear - I know its probably too early to test, but am so miserable at work, I can't stop thinking about it all. Anyway, I think I will now leave it until after the weekend (unless af arrives before). As someone on here said - best not to buy the tests in the first place then there is less temptation! Sweetheart - great news about your ww success.
Tessie hope the sickness stops soon and that you can get on with enjoying your pg. Is this your second pg?

Tessiebear · 09/11/2004 13:05

Thanks Twiga - am spending all my time feeling sick and moaning - being back here has reminded me just ho stressful ttc can be, but in a different way - hope you are all joining me in the pucking gang soon. Good luck with pills Runtus!

Tessiebear · 09/11/2004 13:03

Sallie - i have never got an early BFP eith FR

Tessiebear · 09/11/2004 13:02

Sallie - i got a BFN with First response 10 days PO. BFP 14 days with clearblue - that is 14 days after i BDed the once

Twiga · 09/11/2004 12:58

Fantastic news Sweetheart - well done !

Welcome to the thread Pixie, hope you have a short ttc this time around ++++++*+++++

Hi Tessiebear, nice to see you, glad all is well

Sallie · 09/11/2004 12:57

I have just done my second FR test and got a BFN
I guess its not meant to be this month although perhaps I am testing too early? Ov last Mon/Tues so am around 7/8 dpo. What do you all think? This is driving me crazy

runtus · 09/11/2004 12:27

Hello all, nice to see some old faces today.....good to see everyone is well.

Well done S/heart!!! Thats even more than you hoped for wasn't it! I have no idea how you managed it 'in your condition' but well done girl, you should be very proud indeed. Now have a cake on me......

Nothing new to report here, just waiting for af to arrive to get on the pills......so I can get fat and be really ratty due to the hormones!

Sallie · 09/11/2004 12:22

thanks Tessie - when did you test then? No, I haven't used my second FR test yet but will probably have succumbed by the end of the day...

RudyDudy · 09/11/2004 12:15

Thanks for the info about the persona sticks Sallie - I had no idea you could check for lines on them. That's saved me some money and given me something to do next month!

Have you managed to resist your second FR test???

Tessiebear · 09/11/2004 12:12

Sallie - got EWCM on day 22. (at this point we hadnt BDed for a week because i pressumed i had already oved) Bded once on CD23.... must have OVed at some point around then or just after. So in answer to your question we only BDed once just before OV i pressume

Sallie · 09/11/2004 12:09

Tessie - what was your cycle like and did you bd every day up to, during and after ov?

Tessiebear · 09/11/2004 11:58

Thats ok Sallie - i was just the same - everyone who graduate i would practically give a questionaire to!!
I am in my 7th week -feeling really, really sick and nauseous ALL day (it wakes me at 4 in the morning sometimes!)
When i was waiting to test i looked for all kinds of symptoms but to be honest i didnt feel any different until about 5 1/2 weeks. Kept imagining my boobs were sore but tbh they havnt been sore yet! In fact the first couple of weeks after my BFP i felt so full of energy! I still dont feel to bad tiredness wise but the sickness is sooo draining. Hope it happens for you soon sallie

Sallie · 09/11/2004 11:47

thanks tessie - how is your pg going? Remind me when you started to feel pg with this one, when you tested etc etc . Am becoming obsessive!!!

Tessiebear · 09/11/2004 11:42

Just popping in to say i am still thinking about all of you (and reading your posts) to make sure you are all ok!! Good luck for this cycle to all of you TessieXXX

Tania2 · 09/11/2004 11:35

Hi Pixie54 - wow - 3 years for no.1 - hope it's quicker this time around, although 1 year is already ages isn't it? (I've been trying for nearly a year)

The tests check a number of different hormones, responsible for fertility. The day 21 test is to check that you have progesterone which is a sign that you have ovulated, and also that you have high enough progesterone to build up your uterus lining for implantation (might not have the terminology right but it's that kind of thing).

They don't check for pregnancy with these blood tests (too early in the cycle anyway)- how many days late are you? Have you done a home pregnancy test?

pixie54 · 09/11/2004 11:07

Hello - I'm new to this! We are ttc no.2 - been trying a year now. DD took 3 years. I'm 35.
I've had some blood tests to check if I'm ovulating properly - they came back totally normal in this cycle.
What exactly do these tests test for? Does the day 21 test detect pregnancy? (I'm a few days late.)

Bibi20 · 09/11/2004 11:05

Hi - Hope you feel better soon Hula...

Sallie - planning to test on Thursday (cd 29) if AF hasn't arrived by then... that's based on my being 13 dpo when I always have a 12 day luteal phase... of course I could have got my O date wrong - I wasn't temping this month...

Not holding much hope out either as dh was away over my most fertile time, but still symptom spotting and feel very 'aware' of my boobs!! for being so silly!

Was pretty ratty last night though, so think af is on her way

Hope your dd is getting better?

Sallie · 09/11/2004 10:04

Rudy - basically the test sticks show two lines at the time you are ovulating. For me this month, I had a few days where the second line was faint but gradually got stronger. Best of luck

Hulababy · 09/11/2004 10:02

Thanks Twiga. Doctor thinks it may be end of a virus or infection, that my body has been fighting off itself. Hence feeling sicky and tored and groggy over weekend. She took some swaps, etc. to be on safe side and results come back later in week. Feel even more tender now though!

Becki - my temps were all over the place the first motnth, but were more settled last month. It is supposed to take about 3 months to notice your own pattern. Good luck.

sweetheart · 09/11/2004 10:02

Just thought I'd let you all know I managed to shift 1.5Ibs!! WOOHHOOOOOOO - NOW I can eat everything in sight!!!!!

Runtus - You've definalty got the right idea - let him think it's all his idea on day 14 - he doesn't have to know does he. My dh found the pressure of doing it "at the right time" a bit much on a couple of occasions.

Lovely to hear from you all. Good luck and keep on with that bding - I'll be checking!!!!

RudyDudy · 09/11/2004 09:59

That's interesting Sallie - I was just basing it on the last time I used it and it took 3 months to tell me when I was O. This may be a stupid question but how do the sticks double up as OPK? Would be more than happy not to start buying more stuff

Sallie · 09/11/2004 09:54

When I started persona after having ds, it told me when I was ovulating in the first month of using it. When I started using it again after having dd, it also told me when I was ov the first month. The test sticks double up as opks anyway so I would hesitate over doubling up by buying opks as well and just start the persona.

RudyDudy · 09/11/2004 09:46

I'm CD 32 today and due to test on Friday but have woken up bloated and with cramping and starting to feel very pre-AF so don't think this is my month. Will start persona next month but it takes a couple of months before it tells you when you are OV so I thought I'd give OPK a go - any recommendations or are they all much the same?
