sorry to steal the thread, Hula, how's your hair??

hester · 11/11/2004 21:53

jeddah, I am sending you such huge hugs. I'm really sorry that you're having a rough day; I know just how that feels. Please don't read from my story that it is like to take you five years - that WOULD be scary! I took five years but not continuously, because I have been doing home insemination and kept having to find suitable donors and that took most of the time. I have actually inseminated around 21 cycles, and this time round for 10.

I remember reading a big research study once that said that most 40-year-old women who keep ttc for two years will get pregnant, without needing to resort to IVF. I was probably towards the end of that continuum because I was doing home insemination, which is generally a bit less effective than BDing the natural way (because you don't get as many goes, and the sperm isn't going immediately in, and so on). I am sure it will happen for you far, far quicker. I'm not meaning to sound patronising - I know how very, very painful it is to feel that your 'chances' are running out, that you are racing against the clock - but i do want to stress that the odds are still on your side. 41-year-old women can and do get pregnant all the time.

I do so hope you get your miracle soon, jeds. You've been so brave, and it's so agonising. I'm sending you huge hugs and all the babydust in the world. xxxx

Congratulations Hester :D :D :D I am so so pleased for you!

Not had chance to catch upp today - so much here! LOL. Will find time tomorrow. I am on CD10, but sure I had EWCM last time and this morning, although no tmemp drop and a bit early. I'll have to see what happens in next day or two I guess.

MINNIE1 · 11/11/2004 21:22

i was going to ask DP to build somthing from the ceiling to my hips and hoist me up... but he would have though i was off the rockers..

MunnzieB · 11/11/2004 21:19

velco.. does it help to actually BD on the pillow, or just after, we've had it there all the time, or is that the wrong thing, (apparently it promotes his dudes to 'get of the bus a few stops down the line') as he likes to term it!

velcrobott · 11/11/2004 21:12

You can understand why it was your DH's suggestion to BD more often... he's won the lottery
Now if that doesn't get you pregnant!!!
BTW - do you put a cushion under your bottom after BD?

MommyD · 11/11/2004 21:10

(((())))) big hug for jeddah from MommyD!

Tessiebear · 11/11/2004 21:07

Bibi20 · 11/11/2004 20:37

Hi BeckiF - Afraid I don't know about OPKs and PCOS but just wanted to say I hope that someone can answer your question. Just keep bd'ing is all i can say!
x

crazylegs · 11/11/2004 20:30

MunnzieB - I think it is ok that the go pretty deadish after they peak - on the on call ones I think you have to definitely get a equal coloured T line or a darker T line. After you peak you should bd from then on - OV 24-36 hours after peak. My friend used them this month for the first time cosybear and had great success. I am trying to figure then out but this is my current understanding.

MunnzieB · 11/11/2004 20:21

yes crazy legs, the last lot.... on call said I was OV, but Clearblue said I wasn't, or at least I didn't have the smily face... but I had two equally dark lines so I have no idea, it the lines kinda build up from about day 10-11 ish then peak around 14-15 then stop dead the day after the peak.

MINNIE1 · 11/11/2004 20:18

jeddah,
I'm 27 have been trying for 16 months... Had a m/c in june.. You are as young as you feel pet.. its going to be your turn really soon...
I have a sitting room full of men again... aghhhhh

crazylegs · 11/11/2004 20:18

MunnzieB - have you used the OV kits?

crazylegs · 11/11/2004 20:16

Hester - Congratulations - long wait, well deserved. Take Care

MunnzieB · 11/11/2004 20:14

crazylegs.... i'm still decideing if the hardest part is the week before OV or the week after (i'm still not sure when OV is!)

moschops · 11/11/2004 20:14

wow!! Congrats Hester

(((((Jeddah))))) have huge hug.

MunnzieB > about your neighbour. the problem is it gets so frustrating when all you can do is lend an ear. eventually you get tired of hearing the same problem over and over, you offer advice and it's ignored. if they really won't consider outside help i don't think there's much you can do. from experience (good friend was in abusive relationship) i just stuck by her and offered her moral support until she was strong enough to realise she needed to get out. i guess that depends too on how strong you are, it's a tough situation to stand on the sidelines and watch. maybe others on here can give you more constructive advice than this!!!

well cd 20 here, been bd'ing every other day (more or less) had some EWCM on day 15 and some niggling pains and tingly nipples. i have no idea what my body is doing, just enjoying bd'ing before i become madly obsessed with it!!!!

having a nightmare about work but i'm not going to start moaning about that or this will turn into an epic!!!

velcrobott · 11/11/2004 20:09

Jeddah - huge hugs from me.... have you BDed every other day as you said ?
Hey my birthday is in 2 weeks
Hester - congrats...... think positive about this pregnancy now

crazylegs · 11/11/2004 20:07

Jeddah - stick in there. Don't get to stressed. Lots of hugs.

I am going to test next wednesday dpo 14 with an early response - don't feel anything at all - fingers crossed but got a feeling I may have to go to the next cycle - cycle 5...booo, I will just have to wait and see.

This is the hardest week - its hard to wait.......!
