@kirinm sorry I missed your message following your GP appointment! Let's hope the blood results give you some answers 🤞

My scan is Thursday, first day out of isolation and I'll have to go on my own as OH has now tested positive as well 😭 the nausea has been really bad the last few days and I was sick for the first time yesterday which I suppose is a good sign!

kirinm · 08/11/2021 07:41

@MrsB2019x

Glad you’ve got the ball rolling *@kirinm*, how are you feeling about it? x
I think I'll be glad to find out a bit more. I'll just have to deal with the results whether they're good or bad. If they're bad it might help with finally accepting it won't happen.
kirinm · 08/11/2021 07:39

Is it your scan this week @whambam89 ? How are you feeling?

MrsB2019x · 06/11/2021 13:52

Glad you’ve got the ball rolling @kirinm, how are you feeling about it? x

kirinm · 05/11/2021 16:10

My GP has given me the go ahead to have some bloods done. Annoyingly I am meant to be having one on day 3-5 so I'll miss that but I can do day 21 this cycle and then day 5 the next I guess.

MrsB2019x · 04/11/2021 09:22

Oh bloody hell @whambam89 how typical! Hope you’re feeling better soon. That 3+ test is fantastic 😍

@kirinm Best of luck for tomorrow, let us know how you get on x

whambam89 · 04/11/2021 09:12

@SS123456 that's what I've been living off 😂 fingers crossed I feel a bit better this morning 🤞

SS123456 · 03/11/2021 21:43

@whambam89 I found putting a slice of lemon and some honey in hot water would ease it a bit

@kirinm great news that you've got the ball rolling!

@SS123456 any tips for how to deal with this horrific cough whilst not being able to take anything for it?! My mum very kindly doorstep dropped some benylin off earlier as she doesn't know yet 🙃

kirinm · 03/11/2021 12:30

Hopefully it will pass quickly @whambam89

I've called my GP about getting some tests done. I'll speak to them on Friday. If they won't do anything then I'll have to go private.

whambam89 · 03/11/2021 09:47

@SS123456 it's just hard not to worry isn't it! I am fully vaccinated, got my vaccines pretty early as I was working at the doctor's at the time. I could feel worse, it's kind of like a bad cold with a horrible cough and a lot of aching 😂

SS123456 · 03/11/2021 09:45

@whambam89 the coughing drove me mad! It completely destroyed my pelvic floor before the pregnancy had barely began! 🙈

SS123456 · 03/11/2021 09:44

@whambam89 I think the real risk with catching it pregnant is to the mother so hopefully all is fine 😊. I know that if I had caught it later in the pregnancy when I was already short of breath I would have been very ill as it was bad enough in the first trimester. Are you fully vaccinated? How are you feeling? At least baby will get some good antibodies!

I know these shouldn't be used to make sure everything is ok but it's eased my mind a bit seeing 3+ this morning

@SS123456 thank you so much that's made me feel much better. Luckily my first day out of isolation is the day out 6 week scan is booked for.
Nausea kicked in yesterday at just the right time so now every time I cough I heave 🙈

SS123456 · 03/11/2021 03:00

@whambam89 try not to panic as hard as I know that will be! I tested positive for covid at 5 weeks pregnant too and Jessie has no ill affects at all. This was in December last year before any vaccinations and I was really ill for nearly 2 months (my asthma medication was tripled). On the day I left isolation after 2 weeks I went for a private 7 week scan and saw a little heart beat so despite still feeling shocking ill myself baby hadn't even noticed. The ideal would be to not get covid at all but if you are going to catch it pregnant the first trimester is probably the best time. It wasn't nice to have at the same time as morning sickness though 🙈. I hope you feel better soon!

@kirinm my OH did a sperm test we bought online so it could be worth getting one of those as a first test. I think the one we got was around £40. The couples private fertility tests we were booked to start when I fell with Jessie were £600

@kirinm Google doesn't have much information on covid and first trimester, I'm terrified it's going to do some harm 😭 I worked in a doctor's surgery for over a year in the middle of a pandemic, start working from home and get it just as I find out I'm pregnant after 2 years of trying... Couldn't make it up 😭

kirinm · 02/11/2021 12:08

Oh no! @whambam89

The good news is I don't think it is a major issue in the first trimester but what that probably doesn't make you feel much better.

Fingers crossed you start to feel better quickly.

whambam89 · 02/11/2021 11:33

Aaand I've just had 2 positive lateral flow tests 😭😭

whambam89 · 02/11/2021 11:14

@kirinm my GP was quite quick in getting us a referral to the fertility clinic, they did my bloods to check egg quality and also checked my partner's sperm count. No harm in giving them a call x

Sansa87 · 02/11/2021 11:13

@kirinm I used the clear blue digital opk and despite my body giving out ovulating signs, I actually got my peak a week after my body said I should’ve had it when we conceived Francesca.

Might just have been a coincidence tbough.

kirinm · 02/11/2021 10:56

@whambam89

I can't remember if you've ever said, have you had tests done to check egg quality, your OH's swimmers etc?
DP has never had any tests. He's a lot younger and we have our DD and have got pregnant before (miscarriages) so I think I've always assumed he's probably okay.

Might see how he feels about getting tested.

kirinm · 02/11/2021 10:55

I've used the clear blue OPKs when I was testing regularly. I've bought some more for this month. I don't think working out when I ovulate is the issue though tbh. My body gives me pretty good signs.

I haven't had any tests, no. I am going to call my GP and see if they'd be willing to do some blood tests. I don't feel very optimistic though. I think they'll just say I'm too old. If not, I think I'll try and get some taken privately.

whambam89 · 02/11/2021 10:25

I can't remember if you've ever said, have you had tests done to check egg quality, your OH's swimmers etc?

whambam89 · 02/11/2021 10:24

@kirinm I think mine is just a general cold although I've had it for 2 weeks on and off now.

Sorry that you got a BFN 😭 have you ever used the clearblue digital opks? We've used them the last couple of cycles (had also used them previously with no luck though). No harm in looking into IVF, at least then you'll have explored all avenues xx
