I've just started acupuncture and am two sessions in. Was wondering if anyone had any experiences on it they could share, and how long its worth continuing it for?

@choccrumpet and @beckyCarlos i'm chalking it up to acupuncture and the vitamins because I'd been trying for a while now with nothing until then. Hopeful for you both too!!

Think I'll keep it up as well a couple times a month

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 still delighted for you! Makes me so hopeful 🤗 hope you've been feeling okay!

Shocked was an understatement!! Only took the test because I was drinking that night. Thank you!
💕 congratulations!! X

@HermioneWeasley I am in London thank you, but actually I got pregnant after my 5th session

choccrumpet · 03/06/2021 13:08

@beckyCarlos that's annoying! Although a longer cycle isn't necessarily bad, it's just annoying for us or for me at least, all the waiting around. Also it sounds like your arm was bruised because of the trying to get the needle in, not surprised, sounds like it wasn't the simplest in and out situation!

I'm feeling so tired again, not sure if it's the heat or something else but am ready for a nap, have been feeling like this for a few days 😴 struggling to want to do any work

HermioneWeasley · 03/06/2021 13:00

Hi OP. If you’re in London, google Sarah Moon and see if you can get to her. She’s fabulous

beckyCarlos · 03/06/2021 12:51

No peak yet for me and im CD13 now...this is the longest cycle since Jan! I could be on for a 28/20 dayer! (As if I'm excited about this lol) x

beckyCarlos · 02/06/2021 13:56

@choccrumpet me too - if I could work out how to post a pic I'd show you my last blood test arm...I looked like I'd been in a fight! To be fair, the HCA was struggling to get anything, but lord help me if I need IVF 🤣

🥰 good vibes for us all! X

choccrumpet · 02/06/2021 13:31

@beckyCarlos I love that! That's a lovely way of looking at it and I completely agree.

I mean I'm not a pro so it could just be your skin. I normally bruise after doing a blood test if the nurse was a bit rough with it and the same happened during one of my sessions so can only assume it's because of that! The one bruise I had from acupuncture was on my wrist and it lasted for a few weeks, longer than I expected it to.

Ah you've got a bit of time then and if you're getting symptoms that's a positive!

I agree it's a lovely thread, I find acupuncture so positive so this thread reminds me of that 🤗

beckyCarlos · 02/06/2021 13:24

@choccrumpet no, none at all, a friend said before I went that each session is different but 'you get what you need' which is a very good way of looking at it!

Ahh interesting! I'll tell her next week about the bruise (she may still be able to see it, I heal quick but I mark for ages!)

I ovulate anywhere between CD10 and my latest was CD16 although that is unusual. Still negative on my OPK but higher than my usual baseline so its definitely coming and the other signs are starting 🤞

🤞 for you too!! It sounds daft but I'm so happy I found this thread x

choccrumpet · 02/06/2021 08:20

@beckyCarlos no need to have worried then!! 🤗 the head is a new one for me, haven't had that myself! You're bruising because of how they're putting the needle in. I got one bruise that I know of and she said at the time that point will probably bruise because she wasn't as gentle putting it in and it was sore going in too. What days do you normally ovulate? That's exciting, fingers crossed for you!!

My OPKs are gradually lowering so hopefully I have ovulated. I suspect it was yesterday because I wasn't feeling well but nothing stands out for me to say I know exactly when it happened.

beckyCarlos · 02/06/2021 08:08

@galaxygirl24 thank you for sharing!

My second session was lovely! I didnt cry this time (which is probably a good thing) but I felt so calm and peaceful and still feel that way. I had the best nights sleep as well.

New places for needles were my ankles (interesting! Bit tender going in, my foot wiggled lol) and a nice bruise on one, but i bruise like a peach! Top of my head (a surprise, but felt nothing) and my belly, which I didn't feel at all but I have a cracking bruise there too.

Im CD 12 today so would normally expect positive opk any day, will let you know how it goes! X

choccrumpet · 01/06/2021 21:08

@XjustagirlX @GalaxyGirl24 both your experiences are amazing! I've only been for 4 sessions but can see a change already, I totally believe in it!! It's incredible!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 01/06/2021 20:57

@GalaxyGirl24 thank you for the tip about the aniball, if I get to nine months, I'll def give it a try!

OP posts:
GalaxyGirl24 · 01/06/2021 18:41

Also I stopped it while pregnant and resumed it for the final few weeks of pregnancy (alongside reflexology) to try and ensure I didn't go over too much - was only 5 days over. I also swear by Aniball, no tears whatsoever.

GalaxyGirl24 · 01/06/2021 18:40

Hey! So I'd been trying for around a year with no luck, went to a lady for acupuncture, was going for 3 sessions a week and whilst I do believe in Holistics etc, I didn't think it'd necessarily be a quick fix. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I got pregnant the next month. Now have a 9m DD. Obviously it could be a huge coincidence and I'll never know!

XjustagirlX · 01/06/2021 17:46

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @beckyCarlos I started going once a week but it was too expensive so after 3 months I started going every fortnight.

In my experience it really does help with the cycles and blood and symptoms. I was a skeptic before.

beckyCarlos · 01/06/2021 17:09

@XjustagirlX thats awesome! How often do you go? X

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 01/06/2021 17:00

@XjustagirlX wow that's amazing it's had such an effect for you!

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 01/06/2021 16:33

I’ve been having acupuncture for 8 months. I haven’t got pregnant while doing acupuncture but it has definitely improved my cycles.

Lengthened my luteal phase from 12 to 15 days
Removed a lot of my pre AF symptoms such as cramps and back pain
Removed my pre AF spotting of two days
Made my blood healthier ie full flow and bright red.

choccrumpet · 01/06/2021 14:46

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 maybe it is the soy rather than acupuncture but could be either/both if she's trying to encourage better blood flow so potentially stronger ovulation. Not feeling great at the moment but hopefully all worth it.

@beckyCarlos don't overthink it, it'll be great and you'll enjoy it just as much as the last one 🤗 fingers crossed you ovulate a bit later then! It's my 6th day of ewcm so all looking good here 🤞🏼also my next session isn't until end of next week, I'd like it now please 🤣

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 01/06/2021 14:38

@choccrumpet I did when I was on the soy. Hopefully this is it!

@beckyCarlos enjoy your session tonight

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 01/06/2021 14:32

@choccrumpet I'll let you know in a few days! Im CD11 with no rising LH yet but I'm short cycled, so have had peak anywhere from day 10 to day 14...mucus is starting to become more present so ovulation will likely be in 3-4 days (fingers crossed its not suddenly tonight, DH is away from early tomorrow to late Thurs!)...I do feel a bit gippy though!

Very much lookong forward to my session tonight, although worried I've got my hopes up for another session of a big hug from the universe, what if that was a one off and I'm disappointed 🤣 sometimes I wonder what its like to be a person who doesnt fret or overanalyse! X
