FRER line not getting darker - 10-12dpo

Hey I wonder if anyone has had similar. I had a chemical pregnancy in January and the line started getting lighter from 14dpo. I have just got BFP 2 days ago at 10dpo but my line doesn't seem to be getting darker. It isn't lighter but not progressing? Has anyone got positive stories of this or is this another chemical on its way? Pic attached.

thank u

Chanel05 · 26/11/2021 04:37

@lisa838 I'd recommend making your own thread.

10dpo is still extremely early and plenty of people get bfn at this point. Lines at this point will be very light anyway.

Please stop testing until 14dpo or day of missed period. You really won't change the outcome either way.

lisa838 · 26/11/2021 04:03

sorry to jump on this post but im in a situation where i have been getting faint lines on frer test and dont seem to be getting any light and i started testing at 7dpo and all lines have stayed the same and today im 10dpo

willithappen · 29/04/2021 19:20

Thanks @CAG14
I have actually gone to compare them now that everything has fully dried in and I think I am more comfortable/confident now and going to stop testing and only use a digital at the weekend and then on Wednesday for otd and leave it at that

@willithappen they are great strong lines! Congrats!

Oh here it let me add one that's in my phone already, this is it
Once I checked later though the 9dp5dt has dried and looks exactly same colour as 8dp5dt one so I'm less anxious now

@willithappen I haven't found your thread but I will say mine never got darker in 24 hours only 48 but did progress. So stressful isn't it! But I went from testing daily to every other day and it made it a lot better. They do change once they have dried as well over time so hard to compare fresh ones with older ones. Clearblue weeks indicator can be a good way to see progression for you

@CAG14 I'm 9dp5dt today. I got home and compared my tests again and I actually think they are the same, and perhaps the 8 day one had just dried overnight so now that this mornings has dried more they look the same colour.
It won't let me upload pics straight from my phone for some reason, I have to take the photo and not home right now but if you look in the thread 7dp5dt here in the infertility forum you will see my tests :)

I'm waiting until otd and doing digital also. I haven't done a digital yet that has the weeks on it

CAG14 · 29/04/2021 17:15

@willithappen what dpo are you? Do you have any pics? I'm waiting until Sunday to test with a digital to see if it has gone to 3+ weeks.

willithappen · 29/04/2021 16:51

@CAG14 how are you getting on? I have gone into panic mode with my tests also. Have one from today slightly lighter and I mean very slightly but even that has set me off thinking this is the start of a chemical! Never easy is it!

CAG14 · 27/04/2021 16:43

@bitheby thank you so much. Really hope you get yours too. Sending you lots of positive vibes. I totally understand how crap it is after a loss and the disappointment of it not happening for so long.

Congratulations. I never got a 2-3 either. Went from 1-2 to not pregnant. Really hope I get to see it one day. Pleased for you.

hopingforababyh · 27/04/2021 13:37

So do I 🤞🏻🙊🥰

CAG14 · 27/04/2021 13:33

@hopingforababyh yay! Very similar to mine. I also never got to 2-3 it went from 1-2 to not pregnant. Really hope this is sticky beans for both of us

Just an update for anyone else that comes across this thread in same anxious position I was, to say I left it a few days and here is my one for 17dpo. I also got a clearblue digital saying 2-3 weeks today which has moved on from 1-2. I'll test on Sunday to see if it has gone to 3+ but then stop.

@hopingforababyh how are you getting on?

@hopingforababyh oh bless you it is so hard isn't it? And just such an anxious time. Congratulations to you too. Yours looks like it is progressing well! Definitely don't test more than once a day though as I've found with mine it is taking 48 hours to get any darker and that is the normal time period for HCG to double. My AF was due on Thursday so I'm past that but my tests started getting lighter on 14dpo last time which is today for me so why I've been going mad.

Keep me updated, have everything crossed for you xxx

Oh @CAG14 I am so glad to see someone else is going as stir crazy as me, in a nice way.. I just don't feel so alone in my worries!🤷🏼‍♀️🙊

Also had CP, period arrived bang on time & tests where faint & spotting from 10DPO. AF due tomorrow for me so I can't stop testing - I have about 18 other test that aren't in the photo - all clear blue or FRER 💸🤯 the IC's are too slow progressing for my anxiety!

I KNOW it's not helpful, but it's not so easy to stop & it stops me stressing for 12 hours! I'm just desperate to get past AF due date & I'll calm down come Wednesday providing all goes well!! Also, congratulations!!! 🥰

bitheby · 24/04/2021 18:17

That's how I knew with mine. I took a 'reassurance test' about 18dpo and it was much fainter and then a digital showed not pregnant after having pregnant 1-2 the previous week.

Day by day it's not possible to draw any conclusions though. Fingers crossed this one sticks for you.

CAG14 · 24/04/2021 17:55

@bitheby sorry to hear about your CP. Horrible isn't it. Mine never got as dark as my day 14 either so hope it is a good sign.

Taking all your advice and will stop testing. I definitely kept doing it as last time with my CP it gave me the heads up before I bled 5 days later so wanted to know sooner rather than later if you know what I mean. But I think I've been driving myself mad clearly!

OP posts:
bitheby · 24/04/2021 17:17

I had a chemical last year and I don't think my test ever got as strong as your day 14. What will be will be. There is nothing you can do to change it. Good luck.

willithappen · 24/04/2021 14:50

I can certainly see line progression in those

Take it easy and try not stress. Everything looks great currently!

HippeePrincess · 24/04/2021 14:37

Just stop testing, it’s a good strong line now. You’re just going to make yourself freak out and nothing you do will change the outcome either way. Please just stop literally pissing away your money on these tests.

CAG14 · 24/04/2021 14:34

@bitheby thanks for your reply. I think the problem is there are so many stories on here to compare to which end up in chemicals, and I've had a chemical before so I'm just incredibly anxious but you are right there is a lot of things to effect the line change.

OP posts:
StillRunningUpThatHill · 24/04/2021 14:32

After an hour or so pregnancy tests can change anyway as they dry out. The strength of the line isn’t a reliable indicator. If you are concerned, talk to your GP and ask if they will test your HCG levels 48 hours apart.
