@notyetamumbuttrying I'm definitely going to have a good read of the files, might try and get some read before my appointment if I can!

Annny27 · 25/04/2021 22:35

@notyetamumbuttrying it makes sense why the sonographer who did my scan a few months ago didnt see anything of note but the consultant did! I guess it's really hard to spot!

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/04/2021 22:16

@Marvellouslymadmum the files are really good! I had a read through before my lap and have read another one to get my op notes. Only sent the email Friday so hopefully it does the trick and I get the full report! Good idea with writing it all down and in person appointment! 👍🏾
@Annny27 absolutely correct! A keen eye can tell if a cyst is endo or not. I never had cysts @acaciabluebell so it was straight to lap for me. As I was already with fertility and awaiting ivf it was far easier to get a lap slotted in. My hospital has fertility and gynae as one department which helped matters too.

Annny27 · 25/04/2021 21:08

@acaciabluebell yes like @notyetamumbuttrying says, endo will need a laproscopy to diagnose but mine is indicated through a scan.

Google says:

"A standard ultrasound imaging test won't definitively tell your doctor whether you have endometriosis, but it can identify cysts associated with endometriosis"

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/04/2021 21:02

@notyetamumbuttrying thank you! Some good info on there so far, I'm going to go through and write down all the symptoms I'm having tonight and ask for an in person appt if I can rather than phone this time as I feel she may listen better then

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/04/2021 20:20

@thislittlebird when they tested my amh so once I got seen by fertility.
@acaciabluebell welcome 👋🏾 good you're getting referred to fertility. Tell them you suspect endo. You'll need a laparoscopy to diagnose and treat. It won't be seen on scans.
@Yutes sorry hun ♥️
@Crazydoglady123 good on ya! Best of luck 🤞🏾
@Marvellouslymadmum just commented on your post on there. Love the pink hair!

@notyetamumbuttrying I posted! 😬 no laughing emojis yet 😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/04/2021 19:13

@thislittlebird if they don't you may be able to ask your previous surgery?

Hi @acaciabluebell 👋🏻 I suspect endo for me now too!

Crazydoglady123 · 25/04/2021 19:06

@notyetamumbuttrying ah amazing! Thank you @Marvellouslymadmum @got2be I'll makes some calls this week!

@Yutes sorry about the BFN. Fingers crossed you just ovulated slightly later

Welcome @acaciabluebell

polejunkie · 25/04/2021 18:48

@acaciabluebell welcome! Hope you get answers soon 😊

Hang in there @Yutes don’t overthink it at this point 🤞🏼

Yutes · 25/04/2021 18:31

@notyetamumbuttrying I’m 14dpo

acaciabluebell · 25/04/2021 18:22

Hi ladies 😊 I was wondering if I can join this thread. I'm 25, TTC since early 2020, so 15 months so far, and had a CP back in March.

We've had our initial blood tests from our GP and are waiting for an appointment with the fertility clinic. We have a few potential issues... The first one is that I suspect I have endometriosis due to getting severe ovulation pains on my left side and also IBS type symptoms monthly. I also have low progesterone (from CD21 blood test) and I'm not 100% sure I'm ovulating properly, although I do get positive OPKs. My LP is short (9-11 days). I also have low AMH (but normal FSH). My husband has low morphology too. Fun times!

thislittlebird · 25/04/2021 17:58

Thanks @Annny27!

At what stage or which appointment did they do that for you? @notyetamumbuttrying

@Marvellouslymadmum I know they won’t have my records, I just know it.

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/04/2021 16:18

@thislittlebird no worries 😌 they test for rubella antibodies once you get to fertility like @Annny27 said.
@Marvellouslymadmum hehe you can do it! 😉
Finally left the house today, only took me until 4pm to get ready 😂 had a nice long lie in this morning. Off to hit the shops 😬

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 25/04/2021 15:41

@notyetamumbuttrying will do as soon as I'm brave enough 😂

@thislittlebird I think it's supposed to be on your records but don't know if that's very reliable as when we moved f our records didn't move surgeries with us!

Annny27 · 25/04/2021 14:30

@thislittlebird not sure but the fertility clinic will check for rubella antibodies so that will give you your answer :)

thislittlebird · 25/04/2021 14:18

I’m very, very bad at keeping up on this thread, it moves so fast, so sorry everyone if I’m not up to speed!

Does anyone know how we find out if we’ve had the MMR or alternative as a kid? I feel like if I ask my (terrible) surgery they’re going to just laugh at me expecting them to actually have this info and trawl through my records.

I’m feeling that big infertile donkey energy today.

@Marvellouslymadmum lol! When you do finally post it, say you're new/first post or something and hopefully I'll spot you 😉 you still cramping today?
@got2be it's because they're medical professionals so you'd assume you'd think they'd share everything but they don't because of cost and also it's women's health which always comes lower down. Imagine if I man went in with a penis complaint, they'd be taken seriously ASAP!
@Juno231 I can see why you're so intrigued and I'm so pleased you have an understanding consultant whose gonna have a look! It's tomorrow right?
@Annny27 yep endo can be symptomless and still severe. I was told the patches they removed were small yet every month the lead up to my Period was hell and once on. Pain in my vagina, legs, back, mood swings, bloating, increased urination, diarrhoea, so much. I used to think it was "early pregnancy" symptoms like a deluded fool each month 😆
@RobinRose we dtd!! Bit of pain during but none afterwards so far, yippee 🥳 it'd been like 3 weeks so I was so sensitive, great orgasm 🤭
Thanks for the endo link, will check it out!
@Crazydoglady123 you need to request a SAR - subject access request. That endo group I'm on has a file on it. I'll see if I can copy and paste it across...
@Yutes sorry for bfn, how many dpo are you?

OP posts:
RobinRose · 25/04/2021 12:15

On the subject of endo, this has popped up on my Facebook a few times this morning

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/579802

It's a petition for Fund NHS scheme for women with Endometriosis to freeze their eggs. There's a bit at the at the bottom urging anyone impacted by endometriosis to respond to the Women’s Health Strategy consultation

Thought some of you might be interested!

Yutes · 25/04/2021 11:06

Well I tested, even though I said I was going to wait. It was a bfn

I guess I’m still not out yet, but was hoping for a faint line. Sad

got2be · 25/04/2021 10:10

@Crazydoglady123 I really think we are on to something all have same symptoms.
If you call the hospital and ask to be put through to the department to access your medical file. I can’t remember the name and might be different in each area. But mine gave me an email and was told to attach photo Id. 2 week turnaround

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/04/2021 09:46

@Crazydoglady123 that would be really interesting if you could get your notes! Maybe try speaking to the hospital where you had it done and see what they say?

Quite nervous about talking to the doctor tomorrow as I know they like to dismiss most of what I say due to age 🙄 like my changing Lp which according to my googling is nothing to do with age like I thought!

Motherofkittens28 · 25/04/2021 08:54

@Juno231 I have stage 3 endo and only really ovulation pain, so it's totally true that pain and severity don't always correlate. When I had my first lap in 2007 I had painful intercourse but it seemed to go away after. When I very first started my periods it was agony every month, so it seems like it can change over time. I wish I'd been more insistent on another lap sooner this time tbh but we are where we are!

Crazydoglady123 · 25/04/2021 08:13

All this talk of endo makes me want to track down my hospital notes from my lap many years ago. Because the a&e I ended up with my cyst wasn't my catchment one, my gp never received notes from the op and when I had my check up it was with a gynae at my local hospital and she had no notes either so I had to tell her what happened and why. When I had the op, for the cyst removal my coil had gone missing at the same time and and when I was not long round the consultant came to explain how the op went and said it wasn't the cyst causing me pain it was "x" which at the time I assumed she said the coil but I was by myself and still so groggy I couldn't say for sure. I know my tubes are clear as I've had a Hycosy but my period pain has progressively got worse over the last few years. I have one day in agony where I have to take ibuprofen and paracetamol to get on top of it. I get a lot of pains in general in my pelvis which I've since my lap been told IBS (although the pain would be my only symptom) or scarring caused from the cystectomy. Does anyone know if and how you could request your notes from the hospital? Like I say my GP doesn't have them at all. I've always wanted to see them as the consultant had loads of pictures in the of my insides 😂
