@missC07 @lovebug06 thanks ladies. I'm home now and feeling much better after catching up with friends, a lovely walk, 3 x glasses of wine and a large slice of cake 😆

@missC07 yey!! Hopefully this is your ovulation 🥳🥳🥳

Lovebug06 · 17/04/2021 19:34

@Kay00 oh no sorry to hear that. Did you go to see your friends?
I hope your feeling okay today. Look after yourself ❤️
@missc07 that's great you got your high! Fingers crossed for you.
@TheDaydreamBelievers I want it but my issue is the actual place doing the jabs is saying no its against their guidelines Confused so they won't give it to me!
I'm gonna ring again on Monday and bring up all the new news articles and try again.

JT90 · 17/04/2021 17:12

@WhirlingD Honesyly, I was exactly the same. I came off the patch mid February and spent the first couple weeks googling everything and convinced myself i was broken, without even giving my body a chance to kickstart. It took 6 weeks for me, so sorry you’re on a longer wait but as others have mentioned it can take so long for your body to readjust. Especially after being on the pill as your body has to readjust all its hormones. I know it feels like a forever wait but it will all return, be patient and keep reading through the threads. The first wait for AF is horrible but the day she turns up you’ll wonder what you worried about!

MissC07 · 17/04/2021 11:44

@Kay00 I'm so sorry AF is here and you feel rubbish. Hopefully seeing your friends might take your mind off feeling sick even if it's for a couple of hours.

So a massive shock for me, after ovulating at CD30+ for my last 3 cycles, I'd given up with using OPK's until later on each month. I did one on Monday but was blank, had a bit of a dodgy stomach this morning (tmi but I usually get them when I ovulate) so thought I'd do an OPK and it was Peak today at CD20!!! I know it doesn't mean anything will happen but I'm so happy I could cry 😂 I won't tell OH though, but luckily we DTD this morning pre OPK!! Sorry for rambling! Happy Saturday ladies! Hope you are all enjoying the sun ❤️

Kay00 · 17/04/2021 11:17

@lovebug06 nope, shes here in full flow now. And im living through some of the worst period cramps ever... ugh 😭🤮😖 whhhyyyy!!?? As if having a period wasn't bad enough??

I'm meant to be meeting friends in 45 mins for a pub lunch; my first social outing in ages and I could vomit the pain is so bad 😭

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/04/2021 10:15

@Cams50 it's back today! Toying with my ol' emotions, eh?

Lovebug06 · 17/04/2021 08:40

@WhirlingD welcome, the pill does do crazy things. I had weird symptoms when I came off it, for a bit, its like your having withdrawal symptoms or something!
@Kay00 I hope it doesn't come today ❤️ but mainly hope your feeling okay as I know the day can be horrible waiting.

I have to keep catching up. I find after AF comes and I'm over the upset and I feel okay, I kind of have a break from the baby stuff for a bit so I just dip in and out.. I'm now 7dpo so half way, this week has gone past quickly. I feel okay, apart from my boobs starting to get tender which is normal. I know anxiety will set in in a few days as I always absolutely hate the wait the days before. So I'll probably be on here a lot, be warned🤣 xx

Kay00 · 17/04/2021 08:31

@whirlingD Welcome!! Unfortunately vvvvlong cycles are quite common coming off the pill. My advice is to have sex every 2 to 3 days if possible just to cover yourself as you could ovulate any day and still conceive. Hopefully future cycles will be a little more timely for you.

I'm CD14, AF usually turns up today. Last night I had the most horrendous period cramps (rolling around on the floor bad) and this morning my temperature jumped off a cliff, so just waiting for the monster to begin. Hoping its not a 9 day-er like last time 🙃

Cams50 · 17/04/2021 07:14

@TheDaydreamBelievers sorry that it’s removed the cross hairs 😔 so frustrating. There’s too much waiting in this ttc business.

Cams50 · 17/04/2021 07:12

@Kay00 sorry about the bfn. Any sign of AF today?

@WhirlingD welcome! It’s so frustrating but I think it’s totally normally coming off the pill. We’ve had people get to CD145 or something like that! I think your body just needs to settle but it will get there ❤️ We’ve also all been there with the googling. Sounds like you’ve got a good plan in place.

WhirlingD · 16/04/2021 23:22

My first ever post on mumsnet....looking for some support and company

38yo TTC number 1
Been on microgynon continuously since I was about 19, except for about a year when I was about 34. In that year off, periods were regular. Wasn’t TTC then. Was just curious about my cycle and that year made me foolishly think all would be fine.

Finished last pill pack in Jan. Withdrawal bleed straight away and now CD83 and getting stressed.

For the first month after coming off the pill, I had the most horrendous hot flushes and night sweats. Luckily that has ended.

Had a few false starts with the OPKs but no properly dark lines. My BBT chart looks like random doodles so I’m giving up on that.

Feel like my body is trying to kick start but failing miserably.

I can see myself obsessing over this. Hard to stay sane! I do a preg test every couple of weeks. Nada. At least I can have guilt free G&Ts after each one.

Have acupuncture booked for next week and have ordered a whole load of home blood tests. Doubt the GP will be much help so my plan is to give it a few months and then pay for a private appointment. I’m not exactly a spring chicken!

I’m sure AF will turn up soon but I thought I’d write my story and do something productive rather than spend 3 hours googling fertility stuff each evening and getting no further forward. I feel like I need my iPad confiscated sometimes.

Thank you for listening. Feel better just typing that.

Kay00 · 16/04/2021 18:29

@thedaydreambelievers 14 months is plenty long enough 😔

I tested today on a cheapy, BFN of course, but thought I should check. If AF doesn't arrive then I will assume my spotting was my period and it was just unusually light.

JT90 · 16/04/2021 16:55

@Tillybabs So I’m using PreMom to record my OPK’s, and then FF for any symptoms and to log AF etc. Gonna continue and see if next month’s matches up to the previous month when my period started post pill etc, and hope she’s regular going forward now. The waiting game is fun! 🙈

TheDaydreamBelievers · 16/04/2021 16:00

@Kay00 14 months - but that includes the pregnancy, which lasted 3mo. I know that isn't that long. Yeah, the GP has referred to the next steps (gynaecology) but I think its sitting at about a 6 month wait in this healthboard at the moment. Just have to bide my time! Just feeling frustrated with it today.

Kay00 · 16/04/2021 15:25

@TheDaydreamBelievers Sad sorry to hear that. Have you spoken with your GP? How long have you been trying now?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 16/04/2021 14:24

Aaaand FF took the dotted crosshairs back off me. Of course.

Im so frustrated. Theres clearly something not right with my body - months and months of continually delayed or absent ovulation. I reckon we just got lucky the time I conceived (then unlucky to lose it).

Kay00 · 16/04/2021 08:57

Morning ladies, @FlyingGiraffe hehe, well your baby will be Welsh, so that makes you an honorary Welsh lady Wink Grin

@Cams50 I think it was a mid-LP spotting event as I didn't spot yesterday at all, i'm 13DPO today, AF is due tomorrow and i'm getting AF cramps now, so I guess she'll show up today/tomorrow. At least that gives me a more decent LP length!

Cams50 · 15/04/2021 21:47

@FlyingGiraffe I had two better LPs so I thought the b vitamins had worked but then this one was super short so who knows! Have you been referred to the fertility specialist? Hope you ovulate soon! Sounds like it’s around the corner! I’m CD6 of AF so nothing to report here. DH has to have his semen analysis done again so I’m hoping we’ll be referred after that’s done! That’s booked for the end of the month.

@Kay00 eroded fanjo 😂🙊 hope it’s not AF 🤞🏻

FlyingGiraffe · 15/04/2021 20:34

@Moocher90 That's what my GP said it indicated- that it was subclinical hypothyroidism. Eek. I dont have any symptoms though really so I guess that's a good thing. Maybe I'll go back to her and see whether anything can be looked at further/sooner. Brilliant you got the flashing smiley today! I am CD11 and got my flashing smiley yesterday and today. DH is tired tonight so going to have to hope he's up to it tomorrow!😂

@Kay00 I'm not actually a Welshie 🙊 but DH is so luckily I get to live in this beautiful part of the world now! 🥰

@ChinChilly Welldone on the gym session! That's good to know that your liver result was a blip. Fingers crossed mine is the same! I have the same thing with lots of fine hair! They always have to go and get more dye and always underestimate how long it's going to take them! I try to warn them now! Bet you feel like a new woman!

MissC07 · 15/04/2021 20:30

@ChinChilly Well done for the gym!! Me and my OH joined one too and were supposed to go this eve, but he said he couldn't be bothered and 'we'll start Monday' so I'm now sitting here with a G&T 🙈

Hope everyone is doing ok and looking forward to the weekend! I've somehow managed to get a last min table at a wine bar in London on Sat eve so now I'm panicking what to wear and done a big asos order! Everything I've been wearing the last 4 months is loungewear 😂😂

ChinChilly · 15/04/2021 20:02

@FlyingGiraffe one of my liver levels was off the chart then 3 weeks later it was normal again, my GP said they can just have blips.
As for the hairdressers I haven’t had it touched for 3 years so I had a full head of a highlights and a cut, it took so long because I seem to have loads of hair it’s not thick but there is just lots of it!

First gym session done! I didn’t realise how unfit I was 🥵 I used to be a real gym bunny so I’m going to try get back into it properly.

Kay00 · 15/04/2021 19:47

@flyinggiraffe High Five from a fellow Welsh lady 😁

@cams50 yes, I certainly thought it was AF, albeit earlier than usual. Its just not turned into full flow yet and my temp is still quite high. I wonder if maybe I over did it on my long walk on Sat and eroded a bit of my fanjo 😆

FlyingGiraffe · 15/04/2021 18:33

@Kay00 I'm glad your liver test was fine. It might just affect me more. Drugs seem to affect me more than most so maybe vitamins are the same! 😂

@TheDaydreamBelievers that's good to know! I'm hoping it was a one off but I've cut out the busy bee complex for now anyway. I was hoping it would help my luteal phase length but I've taken it for 2 cycles and it hasn't changed much. It still does whatever the hell it wants each month! 🤪 Fingers crossed that the one time hit lucky for you this month!

@Cams50 I've cut out the b complex but kept the seven seas and vitamin d. I think I'm going to stop the agnus castus too now as I want to see what happens with my next bloods without things maybe affecting the results. Where are you in your cycle at the moment? Have you been referred? The doctor said shes sent off our referral now. Feels real now!

@ChinChilly 6 hours in the hairdressers sounds long! 💇‍♀️ did you have a big change? I had mine cut a few weeks ago (Welsh hairdressers were open earlier!) but I'm booked in for a colour next month. I'm looking forward to having it a bit lighter again for summer! Well done on joining the gym! I've been making sure I do over 10k steps a day this week and its definitely making me feel better about getting into some 'normal' clothes after wearing a uniform/pjs/loungewear on repeat for the last God knows how long! 😂

Moocher90 · 15/04/2021 18:31

@FlyingGiraffe I’m now medicated and I’m only subclinical but I had lots of symptoms and also I got hashimotos which is the autoimmune version of hypothyroid. Mine has gradually gone up my last result was 4.99 but had bloods done at beginning of month but haven’t had my results back yet and also a thyroid ultrasound.

I spoke to my gp who referred me to an endocrinologist as I was not happy with his blanket response that my tsh was normal but normal for TTC should be under 2.5. Hashimotos has a higher risk of miscarriage and thyroid issues in my family so I guess it’s just a case by case basis.

I got a flashing smiley today on cb today and I’m CD12 so I’m hoping I ovulate soon as my last cycle was 27 days but day 27 I was spotting.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 15/04/2021 17:51

@FlyingGiraffe liver enzymes can also just be randomly out for things like minor infection. One of mine was out then when they retested was completely normal!

Yea, in the words of jon snow, now my watch begins! To be honest we had sex once after approval to TTC before ovulation so it would be an unlikely miracle if I conceived!
