@Kay00 glad you had progress with your appointment! Have your temps stayed up after your spike the other day?

I've booked my first acupuncture session for Monday, thought I might as well give it a go 🪡

ChinChilly · 06/05/2021 10:38

@Kay00 sounds like you had a good appointment, must feel good to be making progress!

Kay00 · 06/05/2021 09:59

@ChinChilly hugs xxx

Hi Ladies, I just finished my first fertility appointment with Exeter Ferility Clinic.

It was arranged via video link between Consultant Iryna Roshko (and a nurse who was watching in) and my partner and I. The appointment lasted about half an hour.

She started by asking us both a few questions about our life styles (ages, whether we smoke, how much we drink etc) and then she asked me some more in depth questions about my cycles. She was interested in my cycles being irregular lengths (shortest 32 days, longest 47 days) and that my periods are long and painful. She was concerned that I could have a) PCOS (although previous tests results render this unlikely) b) low ovarian reserve c) Endometriosis

She wants my OH to have an SA
For me she wants:

  • Prolactin blood test (any time in cycle) - GP to organise
  • Clamidia blood test (any time in cycle) - GP to organise (results will take 4 weeks+)
  • Blood test for ovarian reserve (any time in cycle) - at local hospital
  • We have booked a HyCoSy (tubal test + Ultrasound) for in about 3 months time (needs to be in 1st 10 days after period starts)
  • I have to ask GP to confirm I had both MMR vaccines as a child.

Our follow up appointment has been left open pending above.

She said there were some pills she could give me to stimulate ovulation but she would only prescribe them to me if OH's SA comes back OK.

If everything above comes back OK and I am still getting long painful periods then she will want to book in surgery to look for Endo.

And that's it. Its now on me to book the tests with my GP and to get the ovarian reserve test done at the hospital.

Feels like progress!

ChinChilly · 06/05/2021 09:37

@Springflower3 my tests have all came back ok, I’m still waiting for the full report from my scan on Tuesday but the sonographer said everything looked good. OH still needs to do his SA but he’s so busy at work atm hes out 7-7 most days. My GP said once all that’s been done she’ll do the fertility referral. I had an early loss in March at 5-6 weeks so hopefully it will just happen again naturally. For the most part i just plod along cycle to cycle but sometimes I do think FFS what have I done to deserve this....nothing like abit of self pity 😂

Springflower3 · 06/05/2021 09:03

@ChinChilly honestly I can not imagine what your going through..... is your tests are all looking good that you ovulate what is the next step? Xx

ChinChilly · 06/05/2021 08:59

@Springflower3 I stopped taking the pill last June and I never imagined I’d be in the same position almost 12 months later. Especially when almost everyone around you is pregnant 🙄

Springflower3 · 06/05/2021 08:45

Thank you @Juno231 and @Kay00.... I’m using OvuSense but I kinda missed a few days.... my temp is slowly rising.... not by much tbh I’m just worried I got a peak 2 days ago and no spike 😕
@ChinChilly 6 months defo feels like forever when ttc we like to think we will be exception to the rule and be back to normal ASAP! It’s so annoying! Xx

ChinChilly · 06/05/2021 07:48

@Kay00 can’t wait to hear how it goes!

@Juno231 ahh thank you! Im assuming that’s where I’m at but without tracking I can’t be sure...I’m back tracking next cycle though, not tracking has driven me mad!

@TheDaydreamBelievers that must be so frustrating 😞

@MissM94 my GP and both the sonographer I saw on Tuesdays said the pill really can cause problems with cycles for a good 6 months, so hopefully things should settle soon 🤞🏼

Juno231 · 06/05/2021 07:04

@Kay00 I'm excited to hear how it goes!
@chinchilly you're right about the 30 limit so that's good! 9dpo shouldn't make a difference, you can do it between 7-9dpo as that's when progesterone should be peaking.

@Springflower3 I think the rule of thumb is to look for a min 0.3C increase in temp but everyone is different

@MissM94 I'm sorry your cycle is messing you about!

@TheDaydreamBelievers can't believe your chart tbh... How frustrating!

Moocher90 · 06/05/2021 01:21

I’m still spotting and not got full flow yet!! And it’s a darker colour don’t really know what’s going on CD33 today.... it’s unusually light so I don’t know if to mark it as CD1 or not.....

MissM94 · 05/05/2021 23:31

@Kay00 I'm not sure 😩 didn't have any significant pain like I have previously & have been really rubbish with the OPK's!

Kay00 · 05/05/2021 23:01

@missm94 I hear you! Each cycle has been a complete surprise for me. Do you know when you ovulated?

@thedaydreambelievers how you doing? That's a crazy long cycle 😒

MissM94 · 05/05/2021 22:55

Currently 2 days late on my period, so frustrating I finally thought last month was my "getting back to normal" time.. my last cycle was a nice 31 days and I came on exactly when it said I would.. 6 months off the pill and I still have very different cycles month to month 😴 tiring shit this post pill life

Kay00 · 05/05/2021 21:54

@chinchilly I'm no expert on progesterone but that sounds promising xx

@springflower3 my pre ov. Temps are usually between 35.8 and 36.2 and my post ov. Temps are usually 36.3+ . So all my temps are quite low, but I do get a shift in temperature which indicates ovulation. I had my thyroid levels tested and all was OK (if thyroid isn't functioning properly it can result in low BBT) so my low body temps are probably down to the time I test/temperature in my house/me being a cold fish 😅

@juno231 y'owch! Glad to hear it's all healing well though xx

I have my first fertility appointment tomorrow morning 😬😬😬 although they will probably just line us up for some more tests, so I probably shouldn't be nervous. Feels like progress though!

ChinChilly · 05/05/2021 18:40

Soo my progesterone came back at 33.5, am I right in thinking anything over 30 indicates ovulation occurred? My bloods were done on what I think was 9dpo...will that of made much difference?

Springflower3 · 05/05/2021 11:59

@Kay00 can I ask a question about your chart? What is a typical spike in temp? By how much?

@Juno231 glad your recovering well from you procedure! Xx

TheDaydreamBelievers · 05/05/2021 11:23

@Kay00 great chart and coverage!

@Juno231 they look to be healing really well. What happens next?

Attaching my chart, just to give everyone a laugh 🙄

MissC07 · 05/05/2021 11:00

@Kay00 wooo for the temp rise! Your coverage looks so good too!

@Juno231 glad you're healing well! Hope AF turns up soon for you too

ChinChilly · 05/05/2021 10:33

@Kay00 yay for temp rise!!

@Juno231 they look like they were painful!

Juno231 · 05/05/2021 10:24

The three incisions yday - exactly one week post op

Post Pill Party – The Garden Soiree
Juno231 · 05/05/2021 10:21

@kay00 omg yes!!! And you're so well covered as well. I hope this is it!

I just looked it up and apparently laps can really mess with your cycles so it makes sense that my AF is late and it might affect ovulation next cycle as well. The incisions are healing super well though! I'm really chuffed as I was convinced I'd get infections or would take aaages to heal.

Kay00 · 05/05/2021 07:06

Morning ladies. I had a surprise temp rise this morning... surely my body can't be behaving itself? Its never ovulated this early in my cycle! I suppose the next few days will tell me more... 🤞

Post Pill Party – The Garden Soiree
MissC07 · 04/05/2021 20:55

@Juno231 Fingers crossed AF shows soon. Hope you're feeling better after your procedure the other week!

@ChinChilly That's great news about your appointment!

@Kay00 oooh I hope you get early ovulation too! 🤞 I'm being a complete wimp and too scared to try any other tablets. Will see what happens this month and immediately regret that decision and buy everything from Amazon 🙈

Booked my smear test for next Tuesday, as thought I should get it out of the way after AF decided to show today. Have also eaten my way through a packet of Jammie Dodgers, so all in all a productive day for me 🤣

ChinChilly · 04/05/2021 20:54

@Kay00 I was pleased, it does feel like a small weight has been lifted, she said she could see a corpus luteum on my left ovary, which i think is something to with ovulation? Fingers crossed for a nice early ovulation for you!

Kay00 · 04/05/2021 20:53

@thedaydreambelievers damn! That's frustrating 😣 I'm not getting my hopes up just yet... I usually ovulate around CD30 (if I ovulate at all), so I'll just have to keep an eye on the temps. I hope it happens for you soon xx
