Definitely the place I've been looking for! Can I join please? I've been on the mini pill for the last 15 years and came off 2nd Feb...was treated for abnormal cervical cells in Dec but now I'm just waiting for AF to arrive so I can make sense of it all!! Smile

@pineapple2021 ah that's such an amazing way to find out! My friends did it at their wedding too - but it was the inside of their wedding cake which was coloured blue so made the cake cutting extra special 😍

@Tillybabs oh good luck for Friday! As for SA samples - it completely depends on the clinic I think! During lockdown I think they all had you do it at home but now more and more are letting you do it on site. Would your OH have a preference?

pineapple2021 · 15/05/2021 13:45

@Juno231 I know..... I'm getting fat now haha. Little bump! I had a scan Tuesday that was for a NIPT test I decided to have and so glad I did as it was such a cool scan, got 4D video and everything. Got my nhs one Monday then hopefully will feel reassured.
So a friend is gonna take the gender envelope and we're gonna find out with smoke bombs at our wedding in august!! I've told all friends etc after scan Tuesday..... so nice to not be hiding it. I just keep checking on here though, especially for some of you who have been waiting a fair while..... it will happen!!

Tillybabs · 15/05/2021 12:32

@TheDaydreamBelievers my fertility referral was via the nhs. I got an appointment on Friday which was quite quick.

I will let you all know how it goes.

@Kay00 I’ve had some wobbles lately. Even with seeing celebs getting pregnant. There has been a baby boom the last year and I’ve found it a bit upsetting at times so I totally understand.

Can I please ask about sperm samples. How does it work? Will the OH be required to give one at the clinic or can it be done at home?

Also today I discovered that BPAS fertility are going to be running a bit for profit fertility service from autumn this year. If indeed anyone needs this, it may be worth registering your interest with them. I have.

Juno231 · 15/05/2021 11:11

@pineapple2021 12 weeks - wow! Will you be finding out the sex do you think? Have you done a wider announcement?

pineapple2021 · 15/05/2021 09:12

@ChinChilly not for me haha.... slowest time ever. Thought I'd relax now and that is not the case.

CaptainGT · 14/05/2021 21:27

Thinking of you all today everyone.

ChinChilly · 14/05/2021 20:41

@pineapple2021 wow that has gone so quickly!

pineapple2021 · 14/05/2021 19:22

@ChinChilly sorry just seen your message from earlier. 12 weeks 3 days today! Had a scan Tuesday which was lovely!

MissC07 · 14/05/2021 17:16

New thread here ladies.... .www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4244948-Post-Pill-Party-Cocktail-Club?watched=1

Lovebug06 · 14/05/2021 16:07

@TheDaydreamBelievers your friend sounds lovely.
@Kay00 hope your feeling a bit better this evening. Sometimes a good cry helps.
@missc07 sorry about the job!
I understand on the friend front. I was the only one left out last week whilst friends did a trip out. I could have joined for the catch up but as I'm babyless I'm not seen as part of it. Hard as they know I'm ttc. Crap ain't it!

Kay00 · 14/05/2021 15:29

@missc07 Oh no! Sorry you didn't get the job. Clearly they don't know what they're missing Sad! Enjoy the chocolate... wish I could eat some right now haha... my Greek yogurt isn't quite cutting it Grin Thank you for your message xx

Yes, please go-ahead and organise the next party Grin I look forward to my invite!

MissC07 · 14/05/2021 15:05

@Kay00 sending you a massive virtual hug ❤️ I think guys can just be really crappy at knowing what to say, and then they make it 10x worse!

So just got a call to say I didn't get that job I applied for. So currently sat scoffing a whole box of milk tray and feeling like crap and confused about life. Also, it's one of my closest friends sons birthday's this weekend and I always get them gifts and babysit etc, and I asked if she was doing anything for it and she said 'oh just having a party with mutual friends with kids.....' so basically I'm not invited because I don't have a child and she knows I'm trying!!!!

I just noticed we've only got about 30 more messages left on this group, shall I set up a new one? Unless someone else wants too? Might as-well do something productive with my time this afternoon instead of gorging on chocolate and crying.

Kay00 · 14/05/2021 14:39

Yup. Hopefully @TheDaydreamBelievers something cheap and effective might help you... maybe some clomid to kick-start ovulation?

ChinChilly · 14/05/2021 14:32

@Kay00 seriously what is wrong with men 😅 normally I give my OH the death glare and it works but they really do say some stupid stuff. It only really bothered OH when I told him he had to do an SA and he's managed to get out of doing that now!

Keep your chin up lovely, some days are harder than others but it will happen.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 14/05/2021 14:29

@Kay00 I agree! Not feeling hopeful about naturally, but if I have to spend all my savings having a child, I will!

Kay00 · 14/05/2021 14:16

@TheDaydreamBelievers Sad it sounds like you have a really lovely supportive friend there xx Flowers Good news on the nurse practitioner! I read those NICE guidelines and they make a lot more sense than just doing one test at 21 days! Keep pushing and make sure the book the next few in for you!

@ChinChilly Haha, I have had that line too... My OH says ' well, if it doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen...!' Inside i'm thinking... 'this WILL happen... even if it costs us tens of thousands of pounds!' hahaha!

ChinChilly · 14/05/2021 14:11

*fertile friend not fertile first

Stupid typo

ChinChilly · 14/05/2021 14:10

@Kay00 sending you a big hug! Men are abit like those insensitive fertile first who to be blunt just say stupid shit! I remember my OH said to me when i was upset about it taking so long "oh well we knew it wasn't going to happen straight away, it will happen when it's meant to" i nearly punched him square in the face 😂
I had a massive wobble last week and cried pretty much all afternoon and a randomers pregnancy announcement on instagram set that off! It's not a case of if it will happen it's just when, even if you need abit of help you've got that ball rolling now. It will happen for you 💜

TheDaydreamBelievers · 14/05/2021 14:00

@Kay00 huge hugs to you. I can really empathise. I have a work related group social chat where woman A is a close friend, woman B is pregnant, woman C has a 6 month old. So lots of baby chat recently. On a walk this week, friend (A) was saying "seeing all that must be hard" and I was brave facing and saying oh you know, it's great for them though, I'm happy for them. And at that exact moment a message came in on my other work chat with a scan photo and I just burst into instant tears! My brain was like "are you fucking kidding me?!"

My updates - nurse practitioner told me that the GP should offer weekly bloods until a period to see if I ovulate at all as that is in Nice guideline. I've therefore booked another GP appt to push

Kay00 · 14/05/2021 13:51

Thank you @Lovebug06 xx I really do appreciate your kind words xx

Lovebug06 · 14/05/2021 13:22

@Kay00 oh that makes me so sad Sad but I would be exactly the same.
I don't think I've ever cried as much as I have on this ttc journey.

Lovebug06 · 14/05/2021 13:21

@Kay00 sending you love ❤️
It is really hard when someone else announces. Its very hard when it's all you want.
I don't think men understand as much, maybe because all the tracking is us and periods are obviously us I think they are just unaware of how much women are actually doing and the stress of it.
My DH didn't even realise how long we had been trying. In a conversation it was mentioned how long we had been trying and he pulled a face and said its nowhere near that time! I was like erm yes it is and told him exactly... He was shocked. I just don't think they realise as much, just like oh when it happens it does. Feel a bit sad but not the emotion we do.
But I do have to say a bit after the year mark he did suddenly change a bit. Seems more wanting to try, being sad when AF comes and just understanding my heartache more and more willing to listen. So I feel like maybe he suddenly got it, that it just isn't happening, maybe it's just him but I reckon men maybe have a turning point they realise!
So I hope your okay. Your valid feeling sad. Only those of us ttc for a long time truly understand how it can make you feel ❤️❤️

Kay00 · 14/05/2021 13:16

And now i'm just sat here crying into my cup of tea... damn him. This is so unlike me.
