17 dpo (?), symptoms but bfn

Hey, I’m sorry if this is long winded post but I’ve spent the past few days googling and googling but would really appreciate some opinions... My partner and I aren’t actively TTC (but no protection), so I haven’t been testing for ovulation, however I’ve obsessively used the app ‘flo’ for the past 4 year and it’s usually very accurate. My cycles are usually 26 or 27 days long. I’ve had two previous pregnancies (both ended in MC) but each time I knew I was pregnant as my boobs become really sore and heavy (they never are; regardless the time of the month). Long story sort - I’m currently CD29 (period due on CD26). My boobs are super sore, I feel much more tired than usual and just feel ‘pregnant’. However I took a test on cd 25, 27 and this afternoon but all bfn... Is it possible to be 3 days late, have symptoms but still be getting BFNs?! I’m so confused 😖

Guess who just started🤣 im so relieved in a way because i hate not knowing whats going on with my body! I hope you get some answers soon could be stress causing yours hopefully something happens soon for you. I would go to the gp maybe talk to them see if they can do anything

Ah, well I’m glad you’re relieved and you can start again this month (if you are ttc). Yeah there will be some plausible explanation, I’m sure. I’m pretty sure I feel like AF is on her way, so hopefully she comes asap so I can stop trying to figure out what the hell is going on!

Yeah I think that’s what it is. Only this is, we didn’t use contraception after the date I thought I was going to ovulate 🙈 I have no idea when I ovulated so I just need to see what happens I guess. Or maybe I haven’t ovulated at all this cycle.. honestly, god knows 🤦🏼‍♀️
ok well I’d say to wait a few more days and test again. I don’t think you’re actually “late” unless you haven’t seen AF a week after you were due to come on, which is why I’ve waited to see the GP. I am two weeks late today so just waiting to see what happens this week. I hope you get the answer you’re looking for and keep me posted.

This has never ever happened to me before, so it has been very frustrating not knowing what’s going on! If AF still doesn’t arrive this week then I’ll be seeing the GP. I did have gastroenteritis when I was due to ovulate so I’m sure I just ovulated late. Do you track ovulation?

Oh that could be your cause then illness usually makes your body skip ovulation or you ovulate late. I dont track properly i did do LH tests pretty much everyday and got my peak on the 6th June maybe I didn’t have ovulate either who knows but my cycle is like clockwork

I think there must be something in the water. Due AF on CD27/28 and am currently CD38… this has never happened to me before except for when, of course, I was pregnant. Last BFN was Monday. Will test again tomorrow if still no AF, but Monday’s test was a FRER so would’ve thought it would’ve shown up if I was pregnant! No pregnancy symptoms as such but that’s normal for me in very early pregnancy.

This was a few years ago now, hoping I can get a reply. I am having the exact same symptoms, I just feel it. I’m currently 17dpo, AF due today. BFN. I’m guessing you were positive after all?

I didn't use FMU and that was a cheapy test so will retry in the morning with clear blue

@Noodella18 I’m unsure of when I ovulated, I wasn’t tracking. I’ve just always used the Flo app (I gives an ‘ovulation’ day, but I know that isn’t always accurate) x

@mamaatthegym thank you, that’s really reassuring. I hate the feeling of not knowing what’s going on with my body! I think I’ll wait till Saturday and see if AF comes, if not I’ll test again - I’ll be CD 34 by then☺️ X

There’s two very likely scenarios:

The first is you’ve ovulated late and you’re not pregnant, so AF will be late.

The second is you’ve ovulated late and you are pregnant, but it’s too early to show on a test yet!

Is there anything that might have delayed ovulation this month - stress, taking new vitamins, new diet? Xx

When did you ovulate? Could it have been later than usual? Your luteal phase stays the same number of days, so if you ovulated late your period will be late by a corresponding number of days

I tried testing the next morning with FMU but negative. Now on CD31 - my app ‘flo’ puts me officially as 2 days late (I’ve previously had 1 cycle which was 29 days so I assume that’s why it says 2).

I’ve been having AF types cramps all morning down low, I never usually get these... Just hoping it starts and I can stop the worrying! Not going to test till the weekend now x

Times like this that I'm even more grateful that I don't smoke or drink or eat chicken liver lol. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and try to put it to the back of my mind
