Cerazette stories please.

After being on cerazette for 7 years, my OH and I have decided to TTC baby #3.

While on cerazette my AF stopped completely, at the time I thought this was wonderful, but now we are TTC, I have no idea what my cycle is or when it will ever come back. 😭

I have 'only' been off Cerazette for 5 weeks, which I know in the grand scheme of things is a very short amount of time. I know I just need to be patient and let my body find its groove again. But every day feels like a lifetime, waiting for AF.

I haven't had any sign of a withdrawal bleed or anything. I was expecting to atleast of had that by now?!
Lots of bloating, sore boobs and cramps, but nothing else.

I should also say, I am 37. So I have that little (irrational) nagging voice in my head telling me my body clock is ticking. Hence the lack of patience and added anxiety. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Please share your stories of coming off of cerazette. Did you have a withdrawal bleed? How long did it take for AF to arrive? How long after stopping cerazette did it take for you to conceive?

Thank you. ❤

Hope it is @feliznavidad2 !

Deethra you asked whether I was actually TTC or not. Truth be told I don’t know! I had one of my ovaries removed in my teens with a huge cyst on it, was told it would be incredibly rare to get the same sort of cyst on the remaining ovary as dermoids are there from birth... and lo and behold 15 years later had one on the other ovary! Luckily that time I had a genius surgeon who managed to remove the cyst but save the ovary and promised me it was still working and full of eggs. I did ask at the time about the possibility of freezing some eggs in case I got another cyst and the ovary couldn’t be saved that time, but was told they don’t survive well unfertilised and it wasn’t an option. So I guess I’ve always thought it was unlikely to happen for me. And now I’m 40 so time is not on my side. I think my brain is not allowing me to hope really.

So I have had three days of what I would call more than spotting but only a light flow, which seems to have more or less stopped now. It’s now three weeks since I stopped taking Cerazette. Do we think this is a period or a withdrawal bleed, or nothing at all?

And if I was going to use ovulation sticks to predict when/if I was ovulating, when would I start testing?

feliznavidad2 · 25/04/2021 19:56

Hope you're alright @deethra

I've got a very crampy tummy this eve. Hoping it's going to be some sort of period/withdrawal bleed. 🤞🏻

Russell19 · 24/04/2021 17:40

@deethra those lines aren't faint. They're clear as day. My faint one (who is now 2) was not even visible when I took a photo but I was sure I could see something. My husband said he saw nothing 🙈

BackAwayFatty · 24/04/2021 11:31

Yes very surprised, wouldn't change it 🥰

deethra · 24/04/2021 10:47

Thank you @BackAwayFatty

Oh my goodness, that must have been a suprise!

Just seen this post & your positive - congrats!

I unknowingly fell pregnant on cerazette & only found out at 20 weeks! DD is now 11 😃

deethra · 24/04/2021 10:17

Oh no, @fallulah.
I think one of the worst things about coming off Cerazette is the awful uncertainty of what's going on in there.
I hadn't even had a period, I wasn't tracking ovulation or anything, so it was a big surprise.

Are you currently TTC or are you hoping to wait until after your first cycle?
One thing that is annoying is that I have no cycle to go by to track my due date.
I'm 99% sure I know the day I conceived though, so hopefully for now we can use that as a gage until the first scan.

I've had a miscarriage previously (before we conceived our youngest - now 7) so I'm really anxious, I think I will be until we have that first scan.
I'm trying to relax and let myself get excited, but it all almost feels to good to be true if that makes sense?

Ahh no @Fallulah 🤦‍♀️

Yes, how are you feeling @deethra ?

No bleeding still here, day 41 since stopping the pill.

Fallulah · 24/04/2021 10:00

How are you feeling today @deethra has it sunk in?

Think it might have been another false start on the period. What is going on in there?! 😝

deethra · 23/04/2021 16:54

Thank you @Fallulah

That's amazing news. The uncertainty is the worst. I'm so glad things are progressing for you!

Having a cycle to go by will be such a help in the future too!

Congratulations Deethra!

Period definitely arrived today - at least I know it’s all still working!

feliznavidad2 · 23/04/2021 11:24

@deethra I'm so happy for you! x

deethra · 23/04/2021 10:25

Ohhhh my goodness!!!! 😭❤
OK, I might start believing it now!

Another faint, but its definitely there.

I've got a clearblue ultra early test in the bathroom draw (it's says results 6 days before your missed period, but obviously I've had no period to go of off).
I might try that one?!

I've had a constant lower back ache, like a dull ache rather than pain. I've felt queasy the last couple of days too, but mainly in the evening, rather than first thing. I feel heavy in my abdomen too, I thought I was maybe going to come on yesterday. But nothing happend, hence why I thought I'd try another test this morning.

I just never thought it would happen this quickly, especially before having a period.
It took us a year to conceive our youngest (now 7).

Thank you!!

@deethra I'm rooting for you 🤞🏻 I understand your concern as to if you test again and it's negative but that's a pretty good line in my opinion and FRER are very sensitive.

Have you had any symptoms? x

deethra · 23/04/2021 09:42

I'm so nervous, what if the next test comes back as a negative. I'm so afraid to let myself get excited.

It's a faint line, I've taken the photo on my windowsill to try and show it in natural light. I'm so glad I'm not going crazy, and you can see something too.

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 23/04/2021 09:27

@deethra !!!

That is definitely a positive. Get yourself a FRER. So excited for you.

deethra · 23/04/2021 09:09

^ I don't know why it posted 2 of the same photo. Sorry.

OP posts:
deethra · 23/04/2021 09:06

OK, so I dont know if I should let myself get excited or not!!

I took a test this morning
1- It's a cheapy from boots
2- I haven't had a period yet still since stopping cerazette
3- It's still to early to test yet really (12 or 8 days since DTD - but I'm impatient)
4- I'm 37 and was on Cerazette for 7 year (2 months off it now)

BUT, doesn't this look like a faint positive to you guys?
@feliznavidad2 Help!?!

Following with interest as planning on coming off Cerelle (think it's the same as Cerazatte just a different name) at the end of the month.

It's mad it can take so long for periods to come back, I feel like whenever I miss one I end up with a bleed a few days later. Must be just a weird coincidence as I'm sure that won't be my experience when I actually stop!

feliznavidad2 · 20/04/2021 16:32

Sorry to hear that @Fallulah !

feliznavidad2 · 20/04/2021 16:32

I'm so bloated, but nothing else. 🤨

Keep dabbling with the idea of OPK sticks but think I'll get obsessed and not really sure how useful they will be when I haven't had any sort of bleeding since stopping the pill.

I'm trying to focus on being healthier, eating well, exercising regularly. But that's easier said than done at times. 🤫 😇

Fallulah · 20/04/2021 16:25

Spoke too soon - nothing happening today! I feel much better today too.

deethra · 20/04/2021 11:52

Fingers crossed @Fallulah!!
How are you feeling today?

OP posts:
Fallulah · 19/04/2021 18:11

Had all the old school symptoms yesterday - cried over something stupid, upset stomach, went very faint in the evening when I got up too quickly and was far too hot in bed. Felt a bit rough all day and there was definitely some pale pink on the tissue when I went to the loo when I got home from work. So it might be a withdrawal bleed - who knows!
