Happy Easter everyone, hoping to jump on this thread for some support and info. I'm 38 and on cycle #8 (I think) absolutely no luck so far and only had 1 positive OPK in all them months, I'm booked in for 21 days bloods a week on Monday. Anybody know what the process is from there? I've basically given up this month as losing hope a little and feel I've left it too late but never really wanted babies until 12 months ago. I just want to make plans and book holidays but can't as we don't don't know if we'll be pregnant or not, I stupidly thought I'd just take my implant out and bam I'd be preggers 🤣🤣

selina37 · 04/04/2021 09:10

@Marvellouslymadmum I know exactly what you mean about OH thinking he was an angel 😇 🤣🤣

climbershell · 04/04/2021 08:08

I've made it to 10dpo without symptom spotting. It's because I have been so incredibly busy, and any possible symptoms I'd have regardless from being so busy. Only thing possibly connected, but equally not over thought is noticeable cm. 4 or 5 days to wait I guess

Misty84 · 04/04/2021 07:23

@Marvellouslymadmum and @Twelvestars I think I liked being a teenager at the time but now I wouldn’t want to go back to it! So much peer pressure at that age plus I was really into the guys that treated me like dirt! When I look at groups of teenagers now I feel relief that I’m out of that stage (by a good few decades haha) Also social media...wow you have to develop a thick skin these days, so glad it wasn’t around until after I finished Uni!!

As for testing, I usually wait until day of missed period. I’ve been stung many times by symptom spotting so I’ve given up with that. Unfort as my cycle length varies from month to month and AF is often later than expected it’s always been a BFN so far 🙄
so I don’t test before AF often, I think only 3 times in 20 months of TTC!

Can’t remember who said they were binge watching the Office but the British version is my absolute fave prog of all time! 😄

Happy Easter Sunday everyone! I was scoffing my chocolate Lindt egg last night bought by my darling OH 🙂

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/04/2021 00:39

@Twelvestars he really is. He was just a bored teen back then but quickly turned things around way before I met him. I feel really bad when I think of how I was to my mum and dad when I was a teenager!

It's so hard not to symptom spot, I just keep trying to tell myself it's highly likely it wasn't just the iron that was wrong so I don't get too hopeful! I usually expect the bfn but still get upset when it's there or maybe more angry at myself for testing and having any kind of hope, who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

Twelvestars · 04/04/2021 00:32

@Marvellouslymadmum Your OH seems like quite the character. I’ve done a whole lot of door slamming and answering back and speaking over and eye rolling and so on 😅 I feel bad in hindsight, most times my parents were right and had my best interests in mind. But a teenager will always be a teenager!

It’s hard not to symptom spot or pee on sticks! It becomes a way of life 😅 I agree with you especially now you’re feeling like something that was missing has been fixed and your body’s better prepared.

I’ll see how the next few days go and in any case, I have zero expectations except for a BFN! Need to protect my emotional well-being.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/04/2021 23:21

@Twelvestars I'm the same, I can remember it like it was yesterday and loved being a teenager, my oh however although he loved evening a teenager and into his twenties seems to have this deluded memory that he was an absolute angel (apart from the stealing cars and being kicked out of school bit 🙄) apparently he never stayed up late or answered back/slammed a door or anything, though I've had some interesting chats with his sister that say otherwise 😂😂

As for the testing don't ask me, I'm usually pretty good at ignoring the symptoms that I've spotted and waiting until af but since my iron levels are now better my brain has forgotten the last three years and I'm symptom spotting like a trooper and of course consulting good ole google and even if I try to wait for af I've realised from looking at my temp charts that actually my Lp seems to change every month and can be 9-17 days long 🤯 so I wouldn't know when af is due anyway!

If you're tempted do it and just be prepared for a possible bfn I guess!

Twelvestars · 03/04/2021 22:52

@Noodella18 sucks cause I like a bit of a heavy AF (I don’t know why though 🤣) and mine aren’t and never have been. The good part is you’re only a few days away from opks and dtd! But anyways any chance it’s a late implantation in your case?

@Marvellouslymadmum love the family dynamics there! You know, all I have to do is close my eyes and be transported back to when I was a teenager and that’s when I remember how difficult teenagers can be. It’s a critical phase of growing up cause you’re maturing and all those hormones are gushing through and all that teenage angst and coming into one’s own and one’s identity being shaped, etc... I miss being a teenager - the earliest phase of true self discovery. What about you ladies?

Honestly ladies I’m confused. I don’t wanna get my hopes up and I am treating this as an irregular period. I will try not to test until CD30 though I have a feeling AF will show up before then. Or should I before?

Confused.com 😅

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/04/2021 21:13

Happy Easter all! Just wanted to say on the teenager front - THEY ARE NOT FUN! 😂 they're mean, grumpy, strop bags that eat you out if house and home, use you like a taxi and have a toddler meltdown but with a lot more door slamming (and sometimes breaking) if they don't get their own way! Think kevin and Perry eating like they've not seen food for a week and staying up all night, sleeping all day! Just for reference I have two - 16yo boy with asd and adhd (the worst strop bag and most awkward one) an almost 15yo girl who although she is the easiest going can also throw the biggest strops when her own way is not had! Then my partner has two who live with their mum most of the time - 14yo boy with adhd who cries when he doesn't get his own way and bully's his little brother and 13yo boy who suffers really badly with health anxiety and panic attacks! They even make me question ttc but I know it's short lived compared to the rest, apart from maybe my son as he's a bit different but I wouldn't change any of them, much 😂 so yes the teenage part is definitely the worst!

@Twelvestars will you test or wait a few more days?

Noodella18 · 03/04/2021 20:36

@feanorous how are you getting on? That looked like a promising line!

@twelvestars still hanging on in there? No period? When are you testing?!

I'm having a weird period, so light i basically haven't had to use a tampon. I felt so queasy yesterday that I ended up doing a test just to make sure I wasn't preggo and it was implantation bleeding, but snowy white bfn again. Sigh. Anyway, CD 4 and waiting to start opks.

Have a lovely Easter all xx

Sleeeeeepy · 03/04/2021 19:23

It's good to know the way I'm feeling isn't unusual, though I'm really sorry it's happening to any of us. Thankyou for your support as ever you fab lot.

I have eaten so much today, the sun was out and spring is here. At least the world feels like it's opening up again no matter what happens with the ttc x

Twelvestars · 03/04/2021 19:10

@Loladoodle how old are you if you don’t mind me asking and how long ttc? (I may have asked you before but blame it on my memory) I know what you and @selina37 mean about getting on with life while ttc - basically trying while taking the pressure off. I feel I’m emotionally there as well but I’m still at the start of my ttc journey (ttc only 3 months now) so for now will keep at it for an indefinite period of time and open to exploring assisted reproduction options if unsuccessful naturally this month.

Twelvestars · 03/04/2021 19:04

AF should arrive today (CD26) according to my app but no sign yet. I’m so tempted to test...

Twelvestars · 03/04/2021 19:01

@thislittlebird enjoy your holiday, that sounds like a great plan. A much needed break away! Yes the limbo is the worst part.

@Kitekat81 I love babies (my niece and nephew are a piece of my heart)! They’re so adorable. But teenagers, that’s another story and it comes with a whole bagful of challenges and complexities.

Twelvestars · 03/04/2021 18:57

@Sleeeeeepy I don’t know why but I’ve relaxed significantly after just 3 months of ttc. I’m feeling more robust within about this whole thing. I still want it badly and will give it my best shot but if it doesn’t happen, the future wouldn’t seem so grim or dark anymore. It will be what it will be 🙏🏻

selina37 · 03/04/2021 16:25

Happy Easter lovelies!
@Loladoodle I'm with you, we've DTD this month but generally, we're just getting on with life and don't think of it too much. Something upset me this morning - I had an awful feeling that my ex's partner could be pregnant. OH said not to worry about it; 'yes it would be nice' he said, 'but what's wrong with each other's company?' 😌
Plus next doors cat seems to have adopted us, so she's keeping us busy as it is 😂😂

thislittlebird · 03/04/2021 14:24

Happy Easter, ladies. I booked a week away in a converted barn on a farm in Cornwall this week so we can see some family and have a break, so I am really looking forward to that in July. So sick of my 1 mile radius of London right now lol. I have no idea what will be happening by July for ttc but eh, whatever, I’m leaving London for a week or two either way.

Yeah @Kitekat81. I just don’t know how this will all go, which I hate. I wish I could know it would work and make plans, but the worst bit is being in limbo, like at a crossroads where you don’t know what your future holds yet. It’s frustrating. I wish we had it easier in ttc terms, I really do 😔

Fingers crossed for @Feanorous!

Loladoodle · 03/04/2021 14:21

@Sleeeeeepy and @Kitekat81 I’ve been having these feelings this month too. Is all this really worth it? Should I be putting my life on hold waiting for a baby to happen? Is this the right thing? Should I just embrace my future and live a lovely life without stress and childcare bills? But I know it’s because this month has been particularly difficult with life events! I’ll be back pining for a baby in no time I’m sure of it!!! But I am 💯 trying until December then moving on if hasn’t happened!

MgW1 · 03/04/2021 13:16

@Kitekat81
Yes I have had those thoughts but they don't last long. Different for me because I have 2 children already and id have another 2 if I could 🤣 i don't do lie ins and we have had romantic holidays about 10years ago , still had the odd weekend but pre covid. If i went away for a week with my husband we would have run out of things to say after 24 hrs 😂😂
Don't stop trying .... you will get there 🙏xx

Kitekat81 · 03/04/2021 12:34

@Sleeeeeepy I know that feeling. I think most people go hey, let's have kids! then within a few months they are pregnant, then they are parents and just get on with it. Because we've all been trying for so long, we have so much time to think about it - Is this what we really want? Will we be good parents? How will we afford this? What about no more lie ins and romantic holidays? Yeh babies are cute, but teenagers are freaking scary! - does everyone else have all these kind of thoughts?!

Sleeeeeepy · 03/04/2021 11:49

Happy Easter ladies!

We're almost certainly out this month, only dtd once and probably far too early. Work has gone crazy for both of us. I'm starting to wonder whether I really want this any more, I can't visualise being pregnant again, a friend just had a baby and I didn't get that jealous pang which really surprised me. Maybe I'm just knackered and it'll come back once I've had a bit of sleep!

02Carol · 03/04/2021 11:00

@kitekat81
They sound like good achievements to me! I love ice cream! I have had to many days like that recently and decided I needed to start exercising yesterday, my hamstrings hate Me today!

I'm on CD8, good luck to everyone starting a new cycle, l hope someone gets a BFP this month.
Also does anyone else do really confused shopping? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Asking for a friend 🤣

@Feanorous hoping it’s a bfp for you! Keep us updated 🙏

Loladoodle · 03/04/2021 10:53

Happy Easter 🐣 everyone! Enjoy the long weekend! 😄 as much as I’d love a fertilised egg this Easter... after a stressful week for a number of reasons I think we’ve missed the boat 🚣‍♀️ there’s a very small chance of an egg being around this weekend if I’ve ov late but haven’t done opks and haven’t been up for it! Things have settled and we will dtd tonight/tomorrow but I do feel it’s too late. Oh well, chocolate eggs over fertilised for me this Easter! (Looks like I’ve avoided that Christmas due date after all)

Kitekat81 · 03/04/2021 10:08

Morning everyone! @M4v3r1ck how are you doing, any sign of your period?

Well yesterday was cd1 for me so ended up being a complete write-off for me. My sum achievements for the day were having two naps, eating a massive pizza and a whole tub of chocolate ice cream, and watching about 6 episodes of the office. Thank goodness there are still three days left of the weekend, and the sun is shining! ☀️
