Hi everyone just catching up on all the posts!

Had a little bit of a sulk as it’s my birthday tomorrow and I keep thinking I would be early 20 weeks. On top of that the hormones are turning me into a madwoman. I have constant, want to kill people, PMS! I’m on 2 progesterone pessaries and have been having light AF type cramps at only 5/6 DPO so I honestly don’t know what is going on. I had a metallic taste last week and my acupuncturist said it could be a good sign but I just can’t trust my body. I know I can’t carry on wanting to scream at people all the time. I’ve also been so exhausted but unable to sleep properly. Progesterone has got a lot to answer for!

I can’t keep smashing DH’s reusable coffee cups and swearing at him Grin

Hi @J785948

I’m so sorry for your losses.

You should be referred to an NHS recurrent miscarriage clinic. Some tests are only run privately though, such as NK cells etc. You could ask to be referred to Mr Shehata‘s clinic in surrey as he is one of the top specialists in recurrent miscarriage. There’s another centre in Birmingham I believe and one in London (sorry hormone fight brain).

Which clotting factor do you have? I have the prothrombin gene mutation as have to take aspirin plus inject with blood thinners. Saying that even on that protocol I had a MMC at 8 weeks in feb, like you it was after seeing the heartbeat. My gut feeling is that I need to be on steroids so that’s what we will try if I fall pregnant again.

There’s another specialist called Amanda Tozer who will prescribe steroids without the expensive tests. I’m not against the tests by the way, we’ve just decided to put the money towards ivf and have all the tests done abroad.

I really feel for you, it’s horrible having loss after loss. Xxx

Writing this message is extremely tough. I have just started the beginning of my third miscarriage at 4 weeks 6 days - I appreciate it is very early so could be termed as a chemical pregnancy.

I had a MMC in May 2020 at 8 weeks after discovering the baby had stopped growing at 6.5 weeks shortly after seeing a heartbeat.

I then had a second MC in November 2020 at 6 weeks.

In Jan of this year I lost a stone in weight to regularise my cycles (which was successful) and had some tests for miscarriages done privately. It was discovered that I have a raised clotting amplitude and was advised to take daily aspirin after my next BFP. The clinic where hopeful that this, along with my weight loss and regularisation of cycles would help us stay pregnant.

Fast forward to last week, I discovered I was again pregnant - started the asprin as prescribed. Had my bloods done last week and they were doubling as expected.

However, today I have started bleeding with cramping and I know this is the start of miscarriage no.3.

We don't know what to do next, does anyone know what our options would be moving forward or is it simply to have another go.

I would be eternally grateful if anyone else who has been through something similar could give me any advice. I feel so empty, and really don't know what the next steps for us would be - but I don't think we are ready to give up on being parents just yet.

Thank you in advance :) x

Thanks @AlbiMix. I am just back from the gym and surprisingly feel better for jumping about the place

Ralala · 26/04/2021 19:39

@AMS19 my shortest cycle since the miscarriage was 36 days from memory. I think I will see if I can get to 31 days which is my normal cycle. Will probably test at the end of the week. cd29 I have had positives though with my little one and with my miscarriage so may crack on cd 29 haha

AlbiMix · 26/04/2021 17:58

Thank you @AMS19 @gizmo167 ❤️

@LauraT94 thanks for sharing your experience, I'm so so happy for you that your 10 week scan went well! Not long to go until 12 weeks and the "safety zone"! I mean I know after an MC the safety zone feels like it never arrives but that is a huge milestone. Keep us posted ❤️

Sorry you're feeling crap @Ralala hopefully it will pass quickly. fingers crossed for this cycle 🤞

AMS19 · 26/04/2021 16:30

@Ralala oh 10dpo is exciting. Are you planning on testing anytime soon?

Hi ladies, so lovely to see all your chatter today. I do think any pregnancy after loss will be anxiety ridden because sadly we experienced a loss and it’s completely outwith our control.

Cd27 for me today. Probs around 10ish dpo by my opk. Although cycles have been long since the mc. If my opk was correct then af should arrive end of this week.

I actually think I have abit of a bug. Feel meh, upset tummy and very bloated. My little one had a vomiting bug last week so I think she’s passed it on to me. To be fair, I did moan the other week it would be useful to get a bug to kick start my diet again haha

LauraT94 · 26/04/2021 10:30

@AlbiMix I had a scan at 6+6 and measured around 6+3/4! There was definitely a clear little bean to see and an obvious heartbeat that we got to hear too. It's early but you should get to see something. The anxiety only goes away for all of about 15 minutes after the scan but it's so worth it for that bit of reassurance. I hope all goes well for you regardless of if you go for the early scan or not ❤️ another benefit to the early scans is you get fab progression comparison pics with your later on scans! I had my 10 week scan on Friday and the comparison is mad ❤️ finally starting to feel a bit safer now but I don't think that anxiety will ever go away!

gizmo167 · 26/04/2021 10:27

@AlbiMix sounds like a plan lovely, you are correct, MC really does ruin us!

@wag1987 brilliant news lovely x

AMS19 · 26/04/2021 10:25

@AlbiMix I have absolutely everything crossed for you. Both @pettylamby and @LauraT94 are smashing their pregnancies and I'm sure you will too. You ladies will get through this and it will totally be worth it xx

Thanks @AMS19 @Jujujuberry @wag1987 I've booked it for Thursday morning. I could've booked for Saturday but I'm seeing friends that day and I feel like if the scan is bad/inconclusive I'll probably need a couple of days to process that before seeing people. Trying to prepare myself for the worst as I can't afford to be hopeful. An MC really does ruin us doesn't it?!

Thanks again for your advice and support, I have no idea what I'd do without it. I've told no one about the pregnancy this time except OH so to be able to get advice from you all is such a relief.

Jujujuberry · 26/04/2021 09:58

@AlbiMix oh hun my heart goes out to you and I wish I could take away your anxiety, I know exactly how you feel as the other night I was imagining if this was the month for me I would be so worried so its like you want to be pregnant but you just want the baby to be born happy and health like right now!!! I say go for the early scan xx

@wag1987 Yay for your strong line this morning, now enjoy, you have an amazing miracle happening to you 💓 sending you strength xx I have heard of SEMP & perhaps if hubby is up to it we can do it this month :)

Jujujuberry · 26/04/2021 09:47

Wow @AMS19 I’m so pleased to hear that its helping you feel calmer by not tracking every day, yay for you being in the funtime of the cycle! Haha fingers crossed for your peak, watch out hubby 😂 ❤️

AMS19 · 26/04/2021 09:46

@AlbiMix I would definitely go for it. You can always then have another scan in 2/3 weeks. It is highly likely you'll see a heartbeat then. Not guaranteed but likely. And if you don't, then like you say, you can go back!

@wag1987 that's great news!!! So so pleased

OP posts:
wag1987 · 26/04/2021 09:45

@AlbiMix

I really understand because I have booked a private scan for 6wks 6days because mine stopped growing at 5wks last time but didn't know until 12wks. I feel the same as you with regardless to false hope but even if I can hear heartbeat once it will be more than I had last time or if it is bad news then I will know earlier than later.

wag1987 · 26/04/2021 09:42

@Jujujuberry I know it's hard to stay positive I've been there.

No not tried meditation or anything. Currently working from home so lots of work to do but still find time to google everything which I need to stop.

Your cycles are good , have you tried SMEP that's what I did this cycle and got BFP although missed the last bit. I startedBD CD8 and ever other with my 3 days in a row being 12,13,14, my peek was CD13

@AMS19 I did FMU today and my test line is now darker than control 16dpo so I'm going to really try and stop testing if I can.

AlbiMix · 26/04/2021 09:42

Hi ladies, good to see your updates :)

@Ralala @MSK1 @TheHotelCalifornia keeping everything crossed for you all, being in cycle limbo is so tough after an MC.

@AMS19 @Jujujuberry it's such a rollercoaster whatever happens - I've honestly seen people in these threads worrying because AF has come too quickly post MC or not quickly enough, because of ovulating too quickly or too late, because of not conceiving after the MC and also because of being pregnant again. It really feels like whatever happens that isn't "textbook" makes us worry and it's impossible not to be down about that. I'm sorry you're both feeling it atm, but I think it will get better over the summer with more distractions and fun plans. Being pregnant again and still without symptoms I'm just so anxious the whole time, I can't enjoy it and I can't even live life normally, eat what I want, exercise how I want etc, and yet I still feel like I'm going to have another MC. It feels like a losing game.

@wag1987 sorry to hear you've had down days too. I would agree with others about the tests, if you're comparing FMU with non FMU it's probably nothing to worry about. I've only taken two tests this time as I'm trying not to increase my already high anxiety levels lol, testing drove me crazy last time.

Looking for some advice about scans. As mentioned I'm basically symptomless and feel pretty much the same as the first pregnancy when I MC'd. That time I had a scan at 7+5 and baby measured 6w with no HB. I'm considering booking a private scan for later this week at 6+3/4 as I just want to find out if the same has happened. Do you think that's too soon? If they can't see anything I'll probably be offered another scan free a week later... but I know such an early scan is risky as it could end up giving me false hope. But then I just really want to know if I haven't made it further than last time.

Thanks in advance for your support on here ❤️

AMS19 · 26/04/2021 09:33

@Jujujuberry ❤❤

I'm doing good thanks. Definitely so good to step away from everything now and again. Even not religiously tracking every morning and missing the odd one or two helps. I'm cd13 today so hoping for a peak in next day or two 🙏 started DTD every day now just in case, but if there is nothing on an opk by Thursday will to back to every other. I feel weirdly so much more at peace with it this cycle. Watch, I won't ovulate this week and I'll throw my toys out my pram again though 😂😂

OP posts:
Jujujuberry · 26/04/2021 09:28

@AMS19 your so right and thank you for showing me the silver lining of this, short cycles can have their benefits :) I’m not tracking but we dtd usually every other day around cd 7-14. I had a wee cry this afternoon, because you always have that little bit of hope each month, and then when AF arrives it makes you feel so gutted. How are you going? Its nice to see you again, and I hope taking a break often from mumset is doing you the world of good 💓 xx

gizmo167 · 26/04/2021 09:10

@wag1987 lines look fine hun! I over obsessed last BFP cycle over lines, unfortunately it did end in mc but I didnt get as dark as line as yours in that cycle. First mc cycle my lines were super dark so it really doesnt go on darkness!

Going to be a tough week for me this week, reckon today I am 4wk6d/CD36, havent gotten past cd44 without miscarriage in the last year! Am still having sore boobs, a little bit of nausea at times but still having intermittent cramping etc so feeling a lot of stress and worry this week, just want this so so badly!

AMS19 · 26/04/2021 05:53

@Jujujuberry sorry is AF does arrive. Are you tracking ovulation? I usually ovulate cd13-cd15 so am super grateful for short cycles like you. It means we did a shot at it every month which I know not a lot of ladies do! It's bloody tough, there is absolutely no denying it. But every day that passes is a day closer to our rainbow baby xx

Thanks @wag1987 I feel like I have been low for almost 1 year now, after our first MC, Its just so tough to stay positive when the universe seems to not give you the one thing you want the most. My cycles are generally 24-26 days so I guess thats a good thing that its seems to be on time. Are you working in a job you like at the moment which will help distract you? Does gentle yoga help or meditation? Xx big hugs xx

wag1987 · 26/04/2021 03:03

Thank you @AMS19 , on google I had read people had better results in the evening that's why I did it but I will stick to FMU from now on.

@Jujujuberry I am trying to enjoy it but worried constantly fearing for the worst to happen.

What are your cycles like? Fingers crossed for you it is really hard I've had some pretty down days.

Jujujuberry · 25/04/2021 22:47

@wag1987 your lines look great, and like AMS19 says its prob a bit lighter because its an evening test. Try to relax and enjoy, this is a new and different pregnancy!!

I’m cd23 and I think my AF is coming, had a bit of discoloured cm today so feeling a bit low, this journey is so hard.
