@Badlydrawngirly no I haven’t I have heard of it though. Because I’ve not had the required 3 miscarriages they won’t offer the tests on the nhs and I even had a private consultation but they still wouldn’t do them, however privately I could probably get tested after 2. Could I get this test through something like medichecks do you think? I also want to rule out other autoimmune disorders as I already have one with my thyroid condition it puts me at risk of other disorders, but I don’t know where to start with this as gp won’t test due to not having symptoms of other conditions x

Badlydrawngirly · 25/03/2021 08:40

@glowingtwig I’m really sorry to read your update. Sending you lots of love.

@MeganChar1 sorry you’re having to have a hysteroscopy but like you say the positive thing is they will check for any other issues. In terms of other tests, have you been tested for thrombophilia? I had this test as part of the recurrent miscarriage tests and we found out I have the prothrombin gene mutation so now I start heparin from BFP.

SuzieDeLaTour · 25/03/2021 08:36

@MeganChar1 good luck with your hysteroscopy tomorrow - I hope that sorts it all out for you once and for all and like you said, it will offer you some reassurance that they’ve had a good look at everything xx

SuzieDeLaTour · 25/03/2021 08:32

@glowingtwig oh love no! I’m so sorry 😢 how have you been overnight? I understand what you mean about feeling calmer, even though it’s devastating you feel like you finally have a bit of control and understanding - the limbo and the what if/ hope is just horrendous. I know it doesn’t feel like it and you’ll likely want to punch me in the face for saying this but please try and take comfort in the fact that you can conceive easily - that’s half the battle you’ve already won. I really hope your consultant gives you some answers to prevent you ever having to go through this again. Thinking of you xx

Sugarskulllover · 25/03/2021 08:16

@glowingtwig so sorry to see your update. Hope you're ok and sending big hugs xxx

MeganChar1 · 25/03/2021 07:33

Hi all,

I’ve not posted for a while, but it turns out I’m still having issues post mc, they think I’ve got retained tissue so I’m having a hysteroscopy tomorrow to find out what’s going on. Although it’s horrible still going through this I’m actually quite pleased I’m having this test because they can have a look around to see if everything else is ok. In terms of ttc again, is there anything I need to get tested to rule out any possible issues? Already got a thyroid problem but getting this under control, also plan to keep getting vitamin levels tested and progesterone. Are there any other blood tests I should get either on nhs or failing that through medichecks privately? I also want to rule out any other conditions which could have caused the mc. Hope all you ladies are well anyway xx

cupcakesandglitter · 25/03/2021 00:03

So very sorry to read your update @glowingtwig be kind to yourself ❤️ we're all here when you need us xx

glowingtwig · 24/03/2021 22:07

Well ladies I just had my fourth Beta HCG done this evening, but I know that the result won't be good because I've just started bleeding... heavy pinky-red blood with cramps. Strangely I feel calmer than I have in a week, I knew it would be bad news but the limbo and threads of hope were slowly killing me.

Now I've just got to try and get hold of the tissue for testing if I can but at only 5w+6 I don't know how easy that will be. I've come up to bed with a sterile ramekin next to me in case it happens in the night. Hopefully I can manage to get this pregnancy tested to try and get some better answers.

I don't know what this means really, now that's three in a row. Not sure I'll ever have another baby now 💔. How can there be any good eggs left now.

Ralala · 24/03/2021 21:56

@Sugarskulllover congratulations!

@LostFox82 I hear you. It’s hard. I find the day or so before my period arrives is the worst. The hormones just send me into a spiral and then once AF is here , I’m ok.

I have found taking a step back from things helps me. I find social media really triggering so I either come off or mute it. The same with WhatsApp chats.

I have ordered some OPKs for my next cycle as it was impossible to pin point Ovulation for me. My usual signs are off. AF due on Friday so hoping it comes on time and next month I can try and track ovulation.

AMS19 · 24/03/2021 21:13

@LostFox82 honeslty if you cover the 2 days before ovulation that's really all you need. So I would save it up until then. If you don't know when you ovulate yet then hold off until you start seeing lines on an opk then go for it 2/3 days if possible as you'll be covered

Thank you @AMS19 @SleepyKitKat I honestly didn’t think I’d feel like that, it has caught me by surprise and surely exacerbated by period hormones I’m sure. It was Sod’s law as I got the message from my friend and still was hoping for myself and 5 mins later went to loo and found period had started.

I’ve not heard of SMEP just looked it up - don’t think my husband will manage that but might try. Problem is we have plans then few days into it he gets tired of dtd on demand won’t do it anymore and I get frustrated I didn’t wait until closer to ov time! Hmm

SleepyKitKat · 24/03/2021 20:00

Hey @LostFox82 god it's hard isn't it? I completely relate with others news. Of course you're pleased for them but blimey sometimes it catches you unawares like a hammer to the heart. Sad
As far as dtd goes I'm in a similar position. My dh isn't around much and when he is he can't manage 3 days in a row (he's a bit older). This month I went with day before peak and day of ovulation. In the hands of the the goddesses with that!
I have read that every other day and then everyday for the peak fertility 2-4 days but you can only do what you can.
Much good luck to you xxx

AMS19 · 24/03/2021 19:48

@LostFox82 hi lovely. It's so hard. I totally get how you feel. Weirdly, I habent found the ladies bfps on here triggering, I thought I would but I actually just get excited by them, I think it's because the majority of the ladies who have had them we've been together from the start of all this. But anyone outside this group is so hard. In terms of DTD, have you read up on SMEP? The ideal is meant to be every 2/3 days and then 3 days in a row around your peak x

Thank you @Sugarskullloverfor your kind words and congratulations! I am keeping everything crossed for you.

@Quinn26I am sorry you had the same experience, but I am glad to hear you feel ready to try again and had a first proper cycle. I am patiently waiting for mine…
I really recommend the book, I found it so helpful!

@AMS19 Absolutely! I am such a planner and this experience really taught me that I can’t control everything. Reading the book and educating myself on the whole process is really helping me to feel better and a bit more in control as you said. I truly hope next month will be the lucky one for you!

LostFox82 · 24/03/2021 18:55

I’m feeling very sad today, it’s like the mc all over again - my period has just started on the same day another thread pal I’ve made has had her BFP. We were in exactly same place & cycle day having had erpc few days apart. I feel happy for her but so so frustrated and sad it’s not happened for me.
I know it’s hormones but I can’t stop crying and that’s not like me, I only cried for couple of days after finding out about mmc in Jan. I just wish I was 5 months preg like I should be 😢

I’ve just bought a clear blue digital kit for ovulation testing this month. Can I ask everyone about dtd. I have to plan carefully as although my husband wants a baby badly too he can’t dtd every day for too many days. We would usually only have sex every few weeks when not trying.
What have you found has worked when you’ve had BFP? Few days before ov or when you get the LH surge??

AMS19 · 24/03/2021 18:35

@Greenluce sorry you've had to join us but so glad you found the book helpful. I just feel much better and more in control now having read it. Even if it was just bad luck it's nice to feel a bit more in control of everything isn't it. I hope you'll be pregnant in no time!

Also been wondering how you are @dippyegg32, thinking of you xx

*come over

Seasalt1984 · 24/03/2021 17:05

@dippyegg32 I don't think you've done over yet, just wanted to check in and see how you're doing? Xx

CocoLoco88 · 24/03/2021 16:52

Hello my dears, thought I’d mark my place in the new thread.

Hope everyone is doing OK and will catch up with the messages I haven’t yet seen now x x

Quinn26 · 24/03/2021 14:54

@Greenluce sorry to hear of your mc. I've had the same experience as you. Found out at 10 weeks that baby stopped growing and in the end needed a MVA.

I'm on my first proper cycle since and I feel ready to try again, I will see how this cycle goes as my periods took 7 weeks to return after but have been showing signs of ovulation etc this month.

I'm currently taking 7 seas TTC, I've not heard of that book I will look it up.

I have found this thread great as it gives me hope seeing those BFP coming in from people who have experienced a mc in the past x

Sugarskulllover · 24/03/2021 14:24

welcome @Greenluce so sorry you've had to join here too. I'm so sorry this happened on your first pregnancy, you'll find a lot of support here and the ladies are all lovely.

Thanks everyone for your messages. I'm not sure how this has happened for me so quickly. I was so apprehensive to dtd after my MC I wasn't sure I wanted to.

@justwant2beamum yeah immediately, I tested negative at hospital when they confirmed my MC (5+1) so this is a new pregnancy. I am in such disbelief and I am anxious about it too. Trying not to get my hopes up at the moment.

@glowingtwig I am so sorry, I hope you get some answers soon. Sending big hugs your way.

Greenluce · 24/03/2021 13:06

Hi ladies, can I please join? I had a MC ten days ago at 8+6, it was my first pregnancy and I am really heartbroken. I followed your previous support thread for those experiencing MC and I am very sorry for everything you have been/are going through.

I would like to thank you all for sharing your experiences. Knowing that I am not alone, it's really helping me through the darkest moments.

It’s been only a week since my MVA but I know that I would like to start TTC as soon as my body feels ready, hopefully in a month or two. After reading "It Starts With the Egg", I’ve started taking Ubiquinol in addition to folate and Vitamin D, thank you for suggesting this book, it made me feel more hopeful.

Sending love and gratitude to you all!

glowingtwig · 24/03/2021 11:39

@yepstilltrying that where we went for our fist scan with DD at 11 weeks and had the panorama test. They really were lovely. I hadn't thought of going back there as I just saw them as a NIPT thing. But that is a good idea.

I'm about an hour from London by train so it's definitely an option.

yepstilltrying · 24/03/2021 11:36

@glowingtwig I have been to the birth company in Harley Street quite a few times for scans and Harmony tests. They were really great and professional. With my second miscarriage I went in for a harmony test and the heartbeat wasn't there any more. It was so horrendous but the lady was lovely. I would recommend going there but not sure where you live! I think viability scans were about £120
