Soy Isoflavones..yay or nay?

Been doing some research on soy isoflavones & I didn't know what people's opinions are?

I have a 35 day cycle, ovulate between CD17-21 - currently 7th month in of TTC after 1 early loss at 5 week in October.

Do people have any experience with taking them? I read the following on an old thread here about with CD to take them..

My concerns are; I have little/none EWCM (have conceive plus lube) but I get positive OPK every month (temping just stressed me out which I decided would do more harm?!) and I'm sure soy iso is to help ovulate? But now I've read the below, it looks as though it can help the egg. I'm cautious about messing up my cycle so was just looking to hear other people's experience.

Here's the info I've read here (have lots more saved in my notes if people want to see about the dose etc if interest) :)

Thank you x

1-5 = you produce more eggs, and ovulate sooner, with a stronger ovulation.

2-6 = you produce more eggs that usual, but not as many as taking it 1-5. Eggs may be more mature, and ovulation will be slightly more strong than 1-5.

3-7 = The best of both worlds, a few more eggs, and all eggs will be strong & mature, and ovulation will be alot stronger than 1-5.

4-8 = No more eggs will be produced, but the ones already there, will be matured alot more than usual, and ovulation will be very strong. Ovulation may only be brought forward a teeny bit.

5-9 = You'll have one very mature strong egg, from the ones you already produced on your own. Ovulation will either happen when it usually does, or a few days later, but your egg will be of great quality.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 to be honest I’ve carried on with the vit B complex , Vit C , baby aspirin, omega 3 high strength and 2000iu vitamin D . I stopped the vitaminE.
I’ve added the active iron pregnancy as well.

Do you think that’s too much? I was scared to withdraw anything. Apparently the vit C helps protects the stomach from the harshness of the aspirin.

I’m a bit worrried, I know it would probably be easier to take pregnacare or whatever I’m just nervous about withdrawing from current dosage ?

@Slk3558 how long until that scan? Wow that would be amazing! I'm glad they're looking after you well. Feral pole 😂

Hmm maybe I will book something earlier. The scans aren't expensive, but I'm just worried I'll get obsessed.

I now just take Zita West 1st trimester, extra iron, and extra vitamin D. I stopped all of the other stuff. What've you done?

Slk3558 · 10/06/2021 15:03

fetal * 😂

Slk3558 · 10/06/2021 15:03

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that’s great, yeh you could always book a private scan around 8-9 weeks to check for heartbeat.

They’ve booked me in for a 6 week scan to EPU due to my mc history. They told me they normally expect to see a feral pole with heart beat between 6 weeks - 6 and a half. I’ve never had a heart beat in my other two, furthest I got was a yolk sac, so a heart beat would be a milestone for me.

No I felt a bit nauseous when I get hungry but don’t think it’s hit me yet.

I wanted to ask you, are you keeping up with your list of supplements since your BFP? X

choccrumpet · 10/06/2021 14:32

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that's amazing, hopefully you'll feel a bit better going forward knowing that everything is okay for now.

I might do, I'm not going to just stop it if I keep progressing, I'll take it an appointment at a time (or 4 if I book in bulk again). And yeah I wouldn't be saving money there lol, I literally barely drink, maybe a few glasses a month at most or less 😂

I ended up commenting on the wrong thread but what I wanted to say here was that I've found a few threads about nausea after Pfizer so it may be mostly to do with that, some people had it badly which I feel this is at times. Annoyingly! Hopefully it clears up sooner rather than later..

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 14:15

@choccrumpet @Slk3558 thank you yep I think I was getting very over anxious last night convinced I had an ectopic. I've been discharged now as a normal pregnancy, so next scan is 12 weeks. She saw a yolk too, which is early-ish apparently, but I think that's what they'd be looking for at six weeks so I might just go at 9 weeks for a private scan and hope for a heartbeat.

@choccrumpet if acupuncture is a nice treat when you're there, why not keep it up a little longer for the anti stress benefits? You'll be saving money on booze at least! Although I know you said you're not a huge drinker so it might be variable how much 😂

@Slk3558 no nausea either. Occasionally a little when I'm really constipated or bloated, but feel better immediately after. Do you feel anything? When do you get checked by Drs next, do they tell you when you can stop the progesterone?

choccrumpet · 10/06/2021 14:01

@Slk3558 I've got one more pre paid for appointment left which is week after next and after that I'll see what she says, how I feel and take it from there. Might continue every couple of weeks or might decide to stop. So far I've been loving it and it's clearly making a difference both mentally and physically. Let's see how far I progress, if this doesn't work out I'll continue seeing her.

Re nausea, it IS a vaccine symptom so maybe it is all to do with that, I don't know how common it is but I did feel nauseous before yesterday it just feels like it's stepped up a bit today so might be a combination of both. I doubt it's something you want to look out for, it's pretty horrible today 🤢

Slk3558 · 10/06/2021 13:33

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 are you feeling any nausea ? I’m not so far

Slk3558 · 10/06/2021 13:32

@choccrumpet this acupuncture sounds great? Do you continue with it during pregnancy ?

Slk3558 · 10/06/2021 13:30

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that’s fantastic news !!! Really happy for you. You just be so relieved! Trippled in 42 hours wow! You having another scan at 6 weeks ish ?

choccrumpet · 10/06/2021 13:22

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that's brilliant news, I'm so happy for you!! ❤️ hope you're feeling okay. And I understood what you were saying the first time 🤗

@Slk3558 yes you're right the nausea could be due to the vaccine although I did experience it before the vaccine, it just feels a bit stronger today so could be because of it.

Had my acupuncture and she said my pulse reverted back a bit since the last appointment most likely due to the vaccine as my body's immune system is doing its thing but she was happier with it at the end of the appointment. She did a nausea point so let's see if it helps.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 12:29

Levels had almost tripled in 42 hours and she saw a sac in the right place, so she's discharged me as not likely to be ectopic. Feel so relieved

Slk3558 · 10/06/2021 11:13

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I completely empathize been for so many scans and always feel sick with nerves before hand. Good luck xx

@choccrumpet you could also be feeling the effects of the vaccine. But yeah that line is really great!! Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 10:40

@choccrumpet sorry I meant not nice to be feeling sick!!! It's good you're feeling stuff, but not nice for you to feel poorly! X

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 10:40

@choccrumpet well that's sounds very promising then! But not about feeling sick etc.

I haven't felt much of anything yet besides constipation, and a bit tired, but I'm feeling sick now. Waiting to see the sonography, and I think it's nerves maybe. They're running a bit late and it's really hot in here

choccrumpet · 10/06/2021 10:08

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes it's the strongest line I've ever had, never felt this level of nausea either although it's not that bad but bad enough that I'm feeling unwell. Here's a better pic of the same frer

@Slk3558 I've heard digitals can be inaccurate, some staying at 2-3 and not moving onwards, it doesn't necessarily mean anything but I know wasn't great in your case. Good luck waiting to test again, you can do it! Re your aches, I've seen a lot of people comment feeling the same and when you google they are normal aches for early pregnancy as everything starts to stretch.

Soy Isoflavones..yay or nay?
Slk3558 · 10/06/2021 09:44

@choccrumpet That’s great. Really hope it’s a sticky one for you. Looks like a decent line so hopefully it’s implanted nice and cushy.

I’ve also run out of FRERs 😳 maybe a blessing in disguise to stop me testing haha. I have 2 pack digital weeks but I absolutely hate them as had bad experience in the past (basically detetced the mc through seeing it drop from 3+ weeks to 2-3 weeks) so have a bit of a phobia of them now x

Plan is to wait til 19 dpo and then test for a ‘dye stealer’ that’s 4 days away 🙀. Been getting a bit lower back/bum twinges achey hope that’s not a bad sign , and my boobs feel marginally less sore 🥺

This is by far the most nervous I’ve been.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 09:41

@choccrumpet very exciting!! So this is the earliest and strongest line you've had so soon?

choccrumpet · 10/06/2021 09:32

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 need to order more frers now 🤣 there's definitely lines on them all and they're all pink IRL. I'm surprised there was nothing yesterday and today they're quite obviously there. Good luck with your scan today, let us know how it goes xx

@Slk3558 thanks I'm feeling really nauseous this morning, looking at my computer screens is making me a bit lightheaded / more nauseous. Mentally I am hesitant and obviously want to see a line progress, my period is due on Sunday so that'll be a big day to pass, I have rarely gone past my period due day so it's a bit scary for me, especially when the lines are quite clearly there now. Had my first vaccine yesterday and am feeling fine apart from a sore arm so again am hoping there's no fever or nothing else from that. I'm glad I got it done though, whatever happens happens.

The top strip is one step, should be 10miu but it's showing the least obvious line, next one is wondfo 10miu, the last one is Laboquick, never used them before, decided to try out but unsure what the sensitivity is, some say 10 others 20miu so really unsure. It looks more like 10 as it almost matches the wondfo

Slk3558 · 10/06/2021 09:19

@choccrumpet what are the sensitivities of those hcg strips, quite good they picked up the hcg this early

Slk3558 · 10/06/2021 09:12

@choccrumpet Definitely a line!! Looked exactly like mine at 9DPO. How do you feel!?

@Marvellouslymadmum fingers crossed
You will ov today or tomorrow!! Then you can hopefully relax for a bit x

It does seem to be a lucky thread ! Unbelievable.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 good luck for your scan today hope you get good news x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 09:00

@Marvellouslymadmum yay hopefully finally the peak! Fingers crossed for another high temp tomorrow 🤞

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/06/2021 08:59

@choccrumpet I am rubbish at lines but I see a line on that frer and it has a pink tinge on my screen!! Yay looks promising, retest tomorrow morning and show it to us! X

choccrumpet · 10/06/2021 08:35

@Marvellouslymadmum omg im crossing everything for you!!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I know this thread has definitely turned around which is lovely!!

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/06/2021 08:27

@choccrumpet I think this is it!!!! Second day of peak opk and a bit of a temp rise to 36.51 🤞🏻🤞🏻 dtd last night and will do it again today for good measure. I see a little line!! On the frer 🤞🏻 everything crossed for you! This seems to be a lucky thread at the moment!

@charlsains I just bought mine off of Amazon but haven't worked for me so far though I only took them two months then stopped before I found out you're supposed to try 3 months for them to work properly 🙄
