Soy Isoflavones..yay or nay?

Been doing some research on soy isoflavones & I didn't know what people's opinions are?

I have a 35 day cycle, ovulate between CD17-21 - currently 7th month in of TTC after 1 early loss at 5 week in October.

Do people have any experience with taking them? I read the following on an old thread here about with CD to take them..

My concerns are; I have little/none EWCM (have conceive plus lube) but I get positive OPK every month (temping just stressed me out which I decided would do more harm?!) and I'm sure soy iso is to help ovulate? But now I've read the below, it looks as though it can help the egg. I'm cautious about messing up my cycle so was just looking to hear other people's experience.

Here's the info I've read here (have lots more saved in my notes if people want to see about the dose etc if interest) :)

Thank you x

1-5 = you produce more eggs, and ovulate sooner, with a stronger ovulation.

2-6 = you produce more eggs that usual, but not as many as taking it 1-5. Eggs may be more mature, and ovulation will be slightly more strong than 1-5.

3-7 = The best of both worlds, a few more eggs, and all eggs will be strong & mature, and ovulation will be alot stronger than 1-5.

4-8 = No more eggs will be produced, but the ones already there, will be matured alot more than usual, and ovulation will be very strong. Ovulation may only be brought forward a teeny bit.

5-9 = You'll have one very mature strong egg, from the ones you already produced on your own. Ovulation will either happen when it usually does, or a few days later, but your egg will be of great quality.

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah sorry only because I did a lot of reading on inositol a couple weeks ago after reading ISWTE 🙈 was thinking about taking it. Its meant to be awesome for egg quality and ovulation if you're irregular, but if regular can lengthen your cycle. Was guessing that's why so many peoples cycles get affected by pregnacare

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/05/2021 11:01

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 does it? 🤦🏼‍♀️ it could well be that then, actually I started takin it after my last 57 day cycle and they've all been a lot better since then! There was me thinking I may be doing something good this month and instead I could've made things go crazy 😂 I'm online at the moment trying to do a vitamin shop and comparing prices getting very confused 😂 I'll probably order it on Amazon as it'll arrive quickly!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/05/2021 10:56

@Marvellouslymadmum just thinking pregnacare has inositol one it doesn't it? That helps trigger ovulation apparently also 🤷‍♀️

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/05/2021 10:53

@choccrumpet not due for another 3 days, so I'll just wait and see. Think it's six weeks to self refer to midwife here, from memory last time. So I won't bother them til it's a bit longer.

Yay to ovulation test getting closer to peak! Must feel more energetic with the sun and a bit more romantic after a glass or two of wine also 😁 so good timing.

@Marvellouslymadmum with so many variables so hard to know what to chalk it up to. It's v frustrating though, because a clear answer one way or another as to when exactly you'll ovulate would be appreciated !

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/05/2021 10:07

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 you're always going to worry but yes whatever happens will happen regardless of what you do, so try to relax if you can.

@choccrumpet The only other changed this cycle are no soy and no pregnacare as I ran out and haven't got any more yet, so could be something to do with one of those. It's definitely not the first time I've had a wafty cycle though, it's happened a lot 🤷🏼‍♀️
🤞🏻 for your peak and ovulation!

choccrumpet · 30/05/2021 09:58

@Marvellouslymadmum is right the clearblue tests are not sensitive and you're still so early!
It must be the vaccine unless you've had any other changes during the last cycle.. stress or something else?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I don't know tbh, when I see a line now I don't feel much of anything as it's terrifying but you probably would have found out one way or another.. when is your period due? Think positively and like you said there's nothing you can do to change the outcome of whatever happens here. If you can hold back you could test every 2 days or wait for a week or so before testing again. I'm not sure at what point you need to contact your doctor, mine said about a week after my period was due if it's still a positive. But the line won't tell you a whole lot now unless it starts to go a lot lighter.

I'm on CD17 and OPK got darker finally today so will hopefully see a peak in the next few days. Loving the sunshine too, makes such a difference when the weather is nicer!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/05/2021 09:41

@Marvellouslymadmum I hope it's not a ridiculously long one for you also. Having had the vaccine though is amazing! Thank you I'm just being ridiculous I know because what happens will happen regardless of worrying or wasting money on tests etc...

Marvellouslymadmum · 30/05/2021 09:35

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I did think it may to be to do with the vaccine I just hope it's not another super long cycle!

That test lols great to me! Don't forget those ones are not as sensitive as the others

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/05/2021 09:29

Hope everyone's having a fab weekend. Can't believe it's a bank holiday AND sunny, it's so nice!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 30/05/2021 09:28

@Marvellouslymadmum that's very strange. Maybe it's a slightly off cycle after the vaccine, they're researching vaccine period disruption I saw in the news.

Yeah I only had a crappy clearblue cross one left and it's not very clear. But it's a faint blue line. Feeling nervous, stopped temping, it's so early I shouldn't have tested so soon. @choccrumpet I honestly don't know how you have done this so many times x

Soy Isoflavones..yay or nay?
Marvellouslymadmum · 30/05/2021 08:50

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it's very exhausting! I've only got 2 more opk I think so may be giving up After this weekend 😂 temps further down again today - my body is broken 🙄

That test from yesterday looks great! Will you bed texting again today?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/05/2021 13:22

@Slk3558 the progesterone cream could be making your boobs sore. Is it making you feel anything else, poorly or anything?

Slk3558 · 29/05/2021 13:06

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 to be honest when you said you hadn’t had any of your usual pms symptoms, I felt you might get a BFP this cycle. Fingers crossed, you’ve been having decent leutal phase with soy I think your hormones seem to be on track now ! I wish you all the very best, do keep us updated xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/05/2021 12:56

Thanks @Slk3558 yes you were right! I hope it's okay though, just waiting now 😬

Slk3558 · 29/05/2021 11:27

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 congratulations! That’s amazing. Proper strong line for 9 DPO! Didn’t I say lack of symptoms was a good sign!? its my biggest giveaway for my last two BFPs.

Got sore boobs this month so not feeling hopeful. On 3 dpo today started the progesterone cream 1 DPO.

NorthernLass213 · 29/05/2021 11:15

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ahhh congrats!!!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/05/2021 11:06

That's what I was thinking of for you, because she really worked at blood flow to the uterus etc and I know you've been talking about that with yours! 🤞x

choccrumpet · 29/05/2021 11:03

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it's such a clear line for 9DPO, really hoping it sticks around. But I know exactly what you mean. And your acupuncturist wasn't wrong when she said after x amount of sessions you'll see benefits / a positive! Is really encouraging for me as well

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/05/2021 10:46

@choccrumpet thanks so much, I'm trying not to be at all excited, just because you know it could not work out again 🤷‍♀️ I think the acupuncture has really helped though, and it's just nice to get to the stage of a line again after months without anything, whatever happens x

choccrumpet · 29/05/2021 10:43

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 forgot to say - congratulations!! I'm so excited for you!!

choccrumpet · 29/05/2021 10:41

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 omg, it looks like such a good line!! Hoping it's a sticky one for you!! How are you feeling?

@Marvellouslymadmum that's super frustrating :(

@gimmeavino good luck with the soy!

@Frankie2015 I know what you mean, I can't stop myself testing so I just do it every cycle 🙈

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/05/2021 10:34

@Marvellouslymadmum this must be a really exhausting month with so much sex! I can't believe it's not gone up

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/05/2021 10:34

I tested yesterday 8dpo and got the faintest line I thought I was imagining it. Tested this morning and it's a bit darker 😬

Soy Isoflavones..yay or nay?
Marvellouslymadmum · 29/05/2021 08:53

@choccrumpet no temp rise 😫 it went down again yesterday! If it doesn't start to climb over the weekend I don't have a clue what's going on 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

@gimmeavino hi and good luck with the si!

@Frankie2015 hi, I totally understand not wanting to test, I feel exactly the same.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/05/2021 08:43

@gimmeavino good luck! Would recommend pink grapefruit juice in the week before ovulation, really helped with my cm.

@Frankie2015 totally sympathise it's horrible looking at negatives or analysis for lines. Do you think of you don't test before your break, you'll be working or thinking about it a lot?
