TTC first baby (dc1) after MC

Hello, I know there are similar threads for TTC after miscarriage/loss, but I thought it would be good to have a thread for those trying for their first baby. Personally, I know a few friends who've sadly had MC but they were all pregnancy number 2 having already had a healthy baby on first pregnancy. All 3 are now pregnant again which gives me hope but I can't help but be stressed/worry if I will ever have a healthy pregnancy and be able to carry a baby to full term. So I feel like I'm in a slightly different position to those TTC after loss who already have babies. I hope that isn't insensitive. Hopefully there are others TTC their first and we can support eachother.

My story is 27yo, came off pill sept 2020. Pregnant January 2021, had a scan at 7 weeks, dated 7+1 and saw a HB. Had a scan at 9+4 and baby hadn't grown and no HB so MMC. Had surgical management so ERPC on 5th March. I have just finished bleeding earlier this week snd trying straight away before first period. 🤞🏻

justwant2beamum · 10/06/2021 14:29

Aw sorry @Lynne425 it's so hard isn't it. I never ever imagined TTC could be so hard/draining emotionally. I'm 5dpo and not feeling any different so not expecting much this month 😩

Hey @justwant2beamum unfortunately AF showed up early on Saturday! So onto the next cycle for me.

I've ordered some of the conceive plus fertility support supplements to see if that makes any difference this month

I just feel my body is broken now and don't know what to do x

justwant2beamum · 08/06/2021 10:35

@Lynne425 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you

Hey @justwant2beamum

I'm on month 10 since TTC (cycle 2 after miscarriage) and on CD 24 - I already feel I'm out this month as I don't feel any different at all!!

AF due on Monday so will wait and see what happens!Xx

justwant2beamum · 03/06/2021 19:03

How's everyone getting on? I'm CD14 and no signs of ovulation :( think anovulatory month for me 😢😢 honestly just feeling like crap now. This is cycle 8, cycle 4 post mc. I felt like I'd pulled myself out of the mc hole a bit and was being more positive but I really thought it would happen by now. How's this fair that some of us go through so much and others fall with every child first time or not trying etc. 😩 sorry just being a bit mopey tonight. Just fed up and so sad.

Hey @EsseKey - how are you?! Has your bfp got stronger over the weekend 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you and hoping this is your time 💕

@MrsF111 did you test again on Friday?!

My update is I had that strange bleed for like 12 days (only when I wiped) so god knows what happened?!

Then yesterday I got a very positive opk so DTD yesterday and again today to see if this month could be my mouth 🤞🏻🤞🏻 xx

MrsF111 · 20/05/2021 11:59

@EsseKey oh thats sounds like it could be amazing news!!! But i know what you mean about being worried about a chemical and it being early days but I have everything crossed that line keeps getting darker!

Yep I am completely with you on the vacinne - in my head I know I should have it and its totally safe etc but I cant help but worry about anything upsetting my body...I think its natural after everything we have been through

EsseKey · 20/05/2021 11:14

BFP not BPF of course Blush

EsseKey · 20/05/2021 11:11

@MrsF111 I think having something planned and to look forward to is the best strategy to cope... so I hope you will have a nice and not too stressful weekend! :)

on my side, a lot of things happened since yesterday! Where to start...
I have been going on testing with the ovulation strips just because I wanted to see how the full LH pattern looked like for me over a full cycle... well, since a couple of day I noticed the test line getting a little darker and I knew this could be a cross reaction with hCG, so I did a pregnancy strip. I could see a very faint line, but honestly it was so faint that I was almost sure it wasn't actually there. So this morning I decided to take an ultra early CB test and got a BPF! However it is still so so early that I am still convinced that it is probably a chemical, or that I will have another mc, etc.... for some reason I can't be fully happy with that!
Plus, I was invited to have my covid jab today - I have no idea why, as I am not in the current age group, but I guess they had enough pfizer doses to give to pregnant women, and I was still down as pregnant from earlier this year maybe?! - I am fully informed about vaccines, I know risks/benefits and all the science behind it as it is part of my job, but when it comes to me personally I have been so anxious for something bad to happen to the new pregnancy because of the vaccine, even if I have no reason for believing it!
So hey, rollercoaster of emotions again...I should be happy but I am not! Sad

MrsF111 · 20/05/2021 08:53

@EsseKey a little better thank you, nearly the weekend and I’ve got lots planned so hopefully that will take my mind off it, will do another test tomorrow morning and if that’s negative just put it out of my mind (somehow?!) and enjoy a glass of wine and try to relax.

How are you getting on?

EsseKey · 20/05/2021 08:33

@MrsF111 hope you are feeling a bit better today? Flowers

MrsF111 · 19/05/2021 21:25

Thanks ladies, it’s so nice to have this thread and to be able to speak to people who just get it. It’s such a rollercoaster of emotions

TiffanyAR · 19/05/2021 21:21

Hang in there @MrsF111

EsseKey · 19/05/2021 21:16

On no @MrsF111 I am so sorry to hear that... I can feel your pain, the uncertainty... It must be very hard! If I could help, I would! Feel free to share anything you want, we are here to listen

MrsF111 · 19/05/2021 21:00

Struggling today Sad still no AF, still getting a BFN

MrsF111 · 18/05/2021 12:42

@EsseKey that’s really good of them! Makes such a big difference. With my first MC the hospital were awful, so uncaring and it made it even worse, switched hospitals for the second and they were amazing. Will defo be going back to that one next time

EsseKey · 18/05/2021 12:31

@MrsF111 that's true also in my case at the epu they were amazing and told me to call them directly if I had any concern... I think that we can feel justified to have a little additional check, given our past mc...
In my case i found out about my upcoming mc during a private scan, they have also been amazing and willing to repeat the scan for free every week until needed, It made me feel heard and reassured that someone was actually caring for me!

I keep all my fingers crossed for you!!

MrsF111 · 18/05/2021 12:24

@EsseKey i think 3 is standard thats what my doctors said too but my EPU were amazing and said if I jsut told the doctors a little white lie and siad i was spotting when i finally get pregnant again I will get referred to the EPU and can have an early scan that way, a little naughty but as it was the midwifes at the EPU that recommended doing it I will do so when i finally get pregnant again.

Little update - I had a tiny amount of pink on wiping when i went to the toilet, so not sure if that is the start of AF or if I ovulated later than i thought and it is implantion bleeded, guess I will know within 24 if it is AF. FIngers crossed, I have 2 more pregnancy tests at home but trying to wait until friday to do them

EsseKey · 18/05/2021 12:16

@TiffanyAR Thanks for sharing... Glad that the scan went good, hopefully you will see more as the baby grows ❣️ i am also 31, history if pcos in my 20s but not anymore... Just good to know you can maybe get some additional check! Definitely good for you! :)

TiffanyAR · 18/05/2021 11:24

@EsseKey
She prescribed an early scan because I had a mc last year - I am 31 and have suspected PCOS so maybe that’s also why?
Scan was good, I am very early on though so not much to see haha

EsseKey · 18/05/2021 11:13

@KellyJonesSoubrette congrats for the new pregnancy, I think it is normal to be anxious but you got through the first step so this is a huge positive already!! I hope everything will look good on the scan and blood tests!
If you don't mind, may I ask you if there is a particular reason why your doctor prescribed you the blood tests and early scan? you don't need to share the reason, I was just curious if this is a special circumstance or not? I think my gp would not agree to do any early test unless I had 3 mc... (feel free not to answer if this is too personal!)

@Gr4c3liz like you, I have just kept taking my pregnancy supplements, nothing special! Exciting times when the opk shows positives...fingers crossed this goes well!

Hi ladies.
I had an MC last year and am currently pregnant again, entering my 5th week, so very early days and am quite anxious because of last year's MC... Am doing yoga and meditate to manage my stress but it isn't easy. Tomorrow I go in for blood work and an early scan that the doctor recommended as I had an MC last year. I doubt I will see anything this early, but already to see the bloodwork might reassure me... Sending all my heartfelt wishes to all of you: there are many of us, but I am sure we will all get what we wish for !

MrsF111 · 17/05/2021 17:21

@EsseKey yeah its so difficult, I try and stay positive but sometimes there is really nothing for it but to get some chocolate, watch some crappy tv and feel sorry for ourselves. I think it really helps to just acknowledge our feelings, I dont think you are being silly, this is a really hard path to be on and incredibly unfair. Im happy for my friends but also so sad and frustrated for myself (and for everyone in this position)
