bucky hope you're having a fun night out.

abbeymeg well done you for giving up smoking and caffeinie. After a painful detox you must feel so much better.

cbcb those are very good symptoms, plus you've been there before so you know what's familiar.

shazza I fully intend to test 18 dpo (whenever that is). I also fully expect to crack waaaay before then.

sh sorry AF turned up, good luck with this cycle - hope the opks help!

can't believe I'm posting on mn at gone midnight! DH and I sat here eating peanut butter on toast, only just got peckish after the massive feast I cooked up for lunch

Bucky2007 · 17/11/2007 18:43

I forgot again...should have really as I am going out this evening and will find it hard to avoid the drink .

coolkat · 17/11/2007 17:04

Bucky, are you testing today or waiting?

Good luck.

Bucky2007 · 17/11/2007 13:32

Haven't read anything posted today except saw Abbeymeg and thought I would do a hurried . Hope all is well xx

ScaryHairy · 17/11/2007 13:14

Thanks cbcb. I think maybe I did not ovulate this month. All the signs were good, but to have AF show up 4 days early (apparently only 10 or 11 days after when I expected to ovulate) is just odd.
Time to dust out the ancient fertility monitor and check it still works I think!

Shazza2002 · 17/11/2007 13:09

cbcb Last month was first off pill and cycle was 39 days. But don't think I'll be able to hold out for that long

I think I'll test 14 days from CD18, which would be CD32, unless TEW turns up before then of course.

ladylush · 17/11/2007 12:44

Hi ladies, mind if I join you? Think I am 3 days post ovulation, but bit confused as had ewcm again this morning and did opk which had 2 identical pink lines. Had one before on CD14 (wednesday)but didn't test thurs or fri as thought there was no need. Anyway, good luck everyone

abbymeg · 17/11/2007 12:30

hey cbcb!

Well, I'm hoping for you. I'm pleased that you're settled, but I totally understand about the precarious finances - I still keep hearing that little voice saying "you'll manage". Like you say, we'll have at least 9 months to sort it, though judging from success rate last attempt, probably a lot longer!

It really is a bad time with work too for me; but then I think it will always be a bad time at work!

BUT- cb- your decision to try again has given me the nudge I needed. Have had a chat with DH and we're back on the boat. Bought some prenatal pills and after AF next week, will be in the running once again! How could I resist all of the Christmassy chat on here for the next month?!! What a reason to have a baby!

We'll be poor, but familied-up (and at least I've already sorted out the new kitchen, as that wouldn't have happened if I had been pg before).

Let battle commence!

Shazza2002 · 17/11/2007 11:00

Morning everybody.

Can I join this thread. Know most of you from TTC thread.

Well peaks on Wed/Thurs CD18/CD19. So I guess I'm now officially on the 2WW.

So when do I count the 2W from CD18/CD19, or CD20 even???

What symptoms should I be watching out for, so I can send myself stir crazy you see

Thanks Ladies

Have been reading - cbcb!! Are you trying again? How's your house situation? Finger's crossed for you.

I've missed loads

I'm going to have to start trying now - feel left out!!

abbymeg · 17/11/2007 09:49

Hi to Pixie and anyone else who remembers me from weeks ago! Sorry I missed you, but the crafty so-and-sos have changed the format whilst I've been lurking elsewhere and I only read the first page of 17!!

abbymeg · 17/11/2007 09:47

Hello Bucky, Shreksmissus and Digitalgirl. [waves to everyone else]

It's been a while and life has been hectic! I haven't even had chance to read through the other epic threads to see if we've had any BFPs in the last 6 weeks.

I'm still not trying - I'm waiting for a little bit longer; though I'm having a big debate about how long that little bit should be! I'm truly, truly skint now we've moved house, which would affect possible maternity leave, BUT I'm worried it could take a while ttc, especially after 3 months of nothing, despite following all of the rules. I've had a few gyne hicuups - nothing serious, but enough to wonder whether I would be safe to wait as long as a couple of years to have a baby.

It is such a gamble.

I have been eating better and I've stopped smoking completely - which I though I would give into once we stopped trying. I've also given up caffine. Life is truly joyless! And, I don't have the entertainment of shameless symtom spotting for two weeks a month.

Get me to Christmas and I bet I fold, especially being surrounded by colleagues at work who are getting married and talking about starting families.

Anyhow, loads and loads of babydust to you all. I will definitely be popping back to see how you all are. ESPECIALLY if they do Christmas emoticons. I'm feeling strangely festive at the moment; perhaps the lack of stimulants have gone to my head?!

Take care xxx

ScaryHairy · 17/11/2007 09:39

I cracked and did a test this morning - negative.
I won't be wasting any more tests this month because right afterwards AF arrived.

I really don't understand it. AF is 4 days early. I always seemed to have a 14 day luteal phase and it is 12 days since the OPK detected the LH surge - 11 days since I thought I ovulated. All very confusing. Clearly my body has gone mad.

Good luck to anyone testing and I hope you all get BFPs.

ClairePO · 17/11/2007 08:56

so who is testing today then? anyone?

07mumstheword · 16/11/2007 22:30

Sarah It does seem unfair and it must be completely normal to fee because I do every time I see or hear about a pregnant lady! It will be our turn soon. As for your SIL, well what can I say? What goes around comes around?

Thanks everyone for your comments about me testing early How bloody irrational can one lady get? I've heeded your comments and given myself a good old talking to. I will stay away from my HPT stash until Tuesday!

sarahnh · 16/11/2007 22:13

thanks girls, your words of wisdom really do keep me sane.. i just hate feel bitter about other people good luck, oh and by the way for those who know how sensitive my sil is .. she was the one who old me about our friend by sending a text saying "guess who's pregnant?!" grrrrrrrhhhh, for those that don't know she was very insensitive about me and dh's quest ttc!!!

digitalgirl · 16/11/2007 21:56

mtw I have cracked last two cycles and tested 11dpo, it happens to the most rational of us. Try and wait, but if you can't and it's a BFP you must post immediately!

sarahnh that sucks . earlier this evening I realised that we're having a gathering round ours on christmas eve, my PG friend will be coming, she'll be five months by then, they got lucky first time and if we had been as lucky we'd be the same number of weeks. she'll be the first of all my girlfriends from school to have a baby so everyone will be cooing round her, it will be easier if I have a (secret) BFP by then...but I know that it's just as likely that I won't.

OP posts:
sarahnh · 16/11/2007 20:48

hi mtw, i think you can test from DPO on some of the ultra early tests if you can find any, though if you can resist i would wait til tues, just in case you get a bfn cos its too early...

I'm on a complete downer right know, just found out that one of my friends is 12 weeks pg, she already has one dd from a previous relationship who she nevers bothers with and here is she getting pg again... i know that sounds really mean, but with so many of us desperately trying, it justs get my back up!!

Sorry for the rant everyone, promise i will be back to my positive self tomorrow xxx

07mumstheword · 16/11/2007 20:31

Is everyone going away for the weekend then? Sounds like you're all off, hope not!

Sorry for BFN Coolkat but it aint over til the fat red lady sings!

I'm struggling ro resist the tests. Symptoms - my boobs have grown! That's it! Nothing else, zilch, nada, SO can anyone help? I had a on my OV test a week last tuesday so I am 10 DPO today. How soon can I test? I'm due on next Fri (27 day cycle). If I use a First Response (that you can do 4 days early) should I wait until Tuesday (4 days early) I think someone said you can sometimes test 10 DPO? So I could do tomorrow with FMU 11 DPO? I'm so bloody impatient!
