Abbymeg Yes I've had two chemical pregnancies since May so I'm extremely lucky to fall PG but they haven't been sticky ones. On the one hand I'm glad (if thats the right word to use) I lost them early as mc later on sounds more heartbreaking but on the other hand I was still gutted. Anyway onwards and upwards, doctor told me it was just extremely bad luck but if it should happen a 3rd time she will send me for some simple tests. Lets just hope it's third time luck for me!

DG Will post results as soon as I can Tuesday. Of course if its a BFN I will convince myself it was just too early!

digitalgirl · 18/11/2007 21:15

mtw fingers crossed for you, will be checking in tuesday morning for results.

starlight ever had cycles this long before? i truly feel for you, it is so frustrating. Have you had any AF symptoms? saw on the other thread that you think maybe you ov'ed late and had a sneaky quickie. here's hoping that was the one!

abbymeg · 18/11/2007 21:12

Mums - have you already had 2 chemical pregnancies? Sorry - have missed lots. I think I had one back in August. It's awful; I hope you get a bfp and that everything is settled and well for you

07mumstheword · 18/11/2007 20:55

pmsl at windy nips. So glad Shrek asked saved me the

Bucky I have so got my fingers crossed for you this month.

DG Yeeeaaaah an eggs on its way! Action stations!

Hi abbeymeg Hope TEW packs her bags soon so you can really start again.

As for me I'm holding on by the skin of my teeth for test time. I'm too impatient to wait for TEW so will probably be testing Tuesday although I'm due Fri. I also need to test asap because if I get a third BFP/ then loose it chemical pregnancy then the doctor will send me for tests.

DG - it's really bizarre that you said about grapefruit juice - this was the first month I've noticed ewcm in ages, and I'd been drinking grapefruit juice as someone told me it helps you to lose weight. So, there's obviously some truth in it.

There is absolutely no chance I'm pg, but would like to claim clumsiness as a phantom, sympathy symtom. I've just walked into the bathroom door and I think I'm going to have a bruise now right next to my eye. DH is not impressed - he thinks people will assume he's roughing me up!

ScaryHairy · 18/11/2007 20:45

Haha! Thanks for reminding me DG - DH is off to work this week with a little bag of brazil nuts in his suitcase! Maybe some pumpkin seeds too for good measure, and lots of loose fitting pants!

digitalgirl · 18/11/2007 20:40

shreksmissus abbeymeg is right, windy nips is what happens when you notice how much more sensitive your nips are when you're cold (especially after a blast of icy cold wind)
lol at farty nips! i guess that would be when you notice how sensitive they are when you fart

abbeymeg glad you're back on the ttc game! I drink grapefruit juice (for CM) and try to eat lots of greens. DH is on the brazil nuts to keep his little fellas in tiptop condition. I've also cut out caffeine and have developed an unhealthy obsession for hot chocolate.

bucky don't forget to keep an eye out for ov-symptoms, just in case you're having a long cycle. I ov'ed at cd35 last cycle but was too ill/confused to bd enough.

hope everyone's had a good weekend!

Shreksmissus - windy nips are when your boobs get sore from being outside in the cold! I was in Bridlington when I was pg with dd and realised because I had windy nips! At least I think that's what dg means? Might be wrong? It's been a while since I was using the words!!!!

[waves to digitalgirl]

Bizzarely, since I stopped trying to conceive I've started to get ewcm mid-month again. I'm starting to suspect my failed attempts were because I wasn't ovulating. I was getting cramps, but no ewcm. I'm even suspecting that - despite a year and a half since the EVIL DEPO - that I might have only just got my proper cycle back.

abbymeg · 18/11/2007 20:10

Bucky - if you're getting unusual PMS symptoms, that's probably hopeful. If it's different to normal, then it's promising. I'm hoping for you!

Unlike everyone else, I'm counting the days wanting AF out of the way so that I can start trying. It'll be the third official attempt, and we're both quite happy about it, which is nice, as it always felt like me forcing dh's hand before. I'm really hoping it doesn't take ages, as the recent three months of failure really wore me out! I am tremendously impatient and have no staying power.

SOOO - has anyone got any fabulous pre-ttc tips that I can put into practise to start to prepare for the onslaught? So far I'm doing the prenatal vits and omega 3 & 6 oil. I'm also off caffine.

I could still doing with losing seven pounds to get back into the healthy weight range for my height, but I've lost 12 so far so I'm hoping to get the rest off by Christmas.

It's lovely to be back on here (although I'm kind of cheating since I'm not a symptom spotter - YET!)

digitalgirl · 18/11/2007 20:04

bucky well done for holding out. do you think you'll make it to CD34?

well, despite me not trusting opk's. i just went and did one as i have a stack of them bought last cycle. got a smiley ! I also have had lots more ov symptoms today. windy nips, cramps, ewcm this morning and watery cm this evening. getting good at recognising it now. so hopefully I'll ov tomorrow and get my temp rise on tuesday - the 2ww beckons!

Bucky2007 · 18/11/2007 19:41

Well, scared to test...don't want a BFN . No AF yet, but won't officially be late until CD34 which is later than any AF I have had ever. That's five more days though so TEW will probably pounce on me before then. I had a bit of metal mouth this morning but it may have been dehydration. Didn't get really drunk last night although I did have 3 brandy and diet cokes!

Still quite weirdly don't have any symptoms, unless you count...i sometimes get psoriasis on my scalp (sorry...gross I know) which has flared up and I cried watching the Dog Whisperer this evening (it was sad honest!!!) but that's all the symptoms I can muster up. By now I usually have retained an ocean of fluid, have dolly parton (.)(.)s and have a bit of cramping happening...but nothing at the moment . It's spooking me now to be honest, but I am sure I am just thinking about it too much and she will just sneak up and surprise me.

The weather is disgusting. My house now gets wrecked when it rains as Finn gets filthy and has to be towelled down before he shakes all over the furniture. My timing is not always too good .

Excitable · 18/11/2007 13:38

Sorry Coolcat - cross posted! Actually you are right. Perhaps I should just have my holiday when I can and stop my whining. (I know you didn't mean it like that, but frankly, I should know better!) It's true that choice creates anxiety, isn't it?

Just nipping off to check out MTW's post in the waiting room.

07mumstheword · 18/11/2007 13:23

Exitable I posted my thoughts on the wrong thread. Its in the waiting room! Sorry!

Excitable · 18/11/2007 13:12

Thanks for the advice Scary perhaps you're right. I could keep putting off booking holidays forever. And the holiday might make me more relaxed and more likely to conceive. Looking forward to being treated like I'm made out of glass, although I guess I should be careful what I wish for!

It's difficult for us to make up a work commitment for the weekend as we both have Monday - Friday office jobs. I suspect that it will be much better than I suspect - I think the anticipation is often much worse than the reality in these cases. It's more likely to be just okay than truly awful and at least if we go at the weekend we don't have to use up too much leave to do it. And if we do have to spend time with Mr and Mrs Dull (and we can't really avoid it, can we?) at least we'll be occupied during that time.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest and enjoy your countdown to the next possible BFP. Althought the waiting is boring, I keep telling myself that it's much less boring than when I was broody for 6/7 years and there was NO chance of being pregnant because DH wasn't ready...

coolkat · 18/11/2007 13:07

Hi Excitable, perhaps our AF's have gone away together! Jealous your thinking about next years holiday, we can not go abroad next year as DH's new job has not allowed him time off in school holiday's until October and I work school term / hours so I can not have time off when he can.

Hope everyone else is ok?

DG sounds like you had a great time yesterday, wishing I was domestic goddess!!

Bucky you having a lie in with a hangover?!

ScaryHairy · 18/11/2007 12:23

Oh - Excitable - I'm going to follow your advice and count today as CD1. I've started temping (yawn) today so it makes sense I think.

ScaryHairy · 18/11/2007 12:22

I'd book the exciting holiday - you can always find more relaxing things to do if need be. I got really sick of deferring holidays "in case I got pg" when we were ttc before. It's sod's law that if I had booked everything I would have got pg more quickly!! If you do get pg in the interim, I bet your husband will start treating you like glass and he won't pester you to do anything too physical on the holiday.

As regards the in-laws, I would not be too thrilled about sharing a cabin either. So why don't you/your DH invent some work commitment which means you might not turn up. Tell then you don't want them to get landed with the cost of a big cabin between four of them and so you'll book something smaller for the two of you. Either that or claim the two of you need a bit of a break together and book your own place and meet up for meals or to go to the spa. If you really can't get out of it, don't worry too much. When I was pregnant with my DD I was not sick once and that does not seem to be too unusual. Someone might guess, but I never had any qualms about lying when I was pg- afterall until you are ready to tell people it is none of their business!!

Excitable · 18/11/2007 12:07

scary if that was me, I'd count today as CD1, because I'm always tempted to test early anyway and it feels sligtly better if your cycle runs on some.

I tested yesterday and got another BFN. CD 40 today but pretty sure I'm not pregnant. Now I'm just w a i t i n g.

Have a bit of a dilemma I'd like your help with. Well, two really, but they're related. We've been talking about holidays recently at Excitable Towers. We had a brilliant holiday last Easter in Egypt and Jordan where we did all kinds of exciting things like canyoning and jeep racing and snorkelling and camel riding - all sorts of stuff you probably shouldn't attempt if your pregnant. DH really wants to book another holiday like this and is pointing out that people we know have done exciting physical activity when they were pregnant. My point is that I don't know what stage of pregnancy (if any - got to be realistic) I'll be in by March and if I feel like chundering all day every day then I need to be in a nice relaxing place and not deciding whether to go canyoning or not that day. I can't make him understand that this will affect what I'm prepared to do on some days - any advice?

The second problem is this. My PIL want to book a holiday in April to Centerparcs with my BIL and his wife. We don't like my BIL and his wife very much, but it looks like we won't be able to avoid this. We have, at least talked them out of going for a week and got it down to a weekend and at least we'll be doing stuff that will distract us from how boring they are! My problem is that they want to share a cabin between the six of us, but what if I'm chundering all the time and they begin to suspect I'm pregnant before we're ready to tell them?

Advice please...

ScaryHairy · 18/11/2007 10:56

Thanks DG - good luck with the PIL. How could anyone not apreciate a massive feast?

Can I ask a possibly rather dozey question? Yesterday morning AF turned up , but not a lot - maybe half a tampon (sorry if TMI). Then it stopped until this morning. Do I could yesterday or today as the first day of my cycle? Not that it makes a huge amount of dfference... with my surprise early period, I have no idea when I will be ovulating next. OPKs are vaguely useful (and I am pretty used to checking the position of my cervix, CM etc), but my DH works away from home Monday-Thursday and so knowing I am ovulating is only half the battle! I realy need to figure this thing out so we can be in the same place at the right time. Back to the drawing board I guess!

07mumstheword · 18/11/2007 09:01

DG From the sound of the effort you put into PIL feast I can not imagine they don't give you their 100% approval. Their son is very lucky to have such a domestic goddess!
