Quick OPK Q: I invested in the Clear Blue ones following all the advice on last thread (thank you guys!). Because I’m so hopeless I didn’t read instructions until the day I was supposed to start testing, so I missed the morning pee. My cycle is 27/28 days every month and I took baseline test on the eve of day 8 (probably should have started morning of day 7).

Today is day 11 and I’m seeing a O. I’m expecting ovulation day 14, purely based on my free period tracker app! (Though, to be fair, it did get me pregnant before Xmas, albeit not a sticker!)

How many days before peak have any of you seen a high? Curious if it is 5 days (per my free tracker) or if it’s a shorter more accurate window.

Or have I effed up the testing already Grin

Xxx

@climbershell good luck today with results!

@sickofthisyear thanks for setting up thread!

@Kitekat81 Thank you!

@Misty84 That’s so long, but at least you have the appointment. Does feel slightly nuts they won’t give you an indication of what they saw though, at least to put your mind at rest that whatever is there is treatable! You’re so much more patient than I am.

@thislittlebird Smile Yeah, she’s been through a lot so it’s awesome she got such a fast BFP! X

Sleeeeeepy · 03/03/2021 23:20

Just marking my spot, thanks for the new thread

climbershell · 03/03/2021 21:06

All this talk of docs etc reminds me my GP is calling me sometime tomorrow afternoon to discuss my blood test results

I'll be out working so hopefully I don't miss the call!

Need to get my partner to chase his results as it's been exactly 2 weeks now

Pamparam · 03/03/2021 20:57

Thanks for the new thread. Just placemarking and will join in convo properly soon x

Misty84 · 03/03/2021 20:44

@Kitekat81 @thislittlebird I know, so frustratingly long. But they won’t book me in for the HyCoSy until Ive had the consultation. I think it’s an overall discussion in addition to talking about the scan I’ve just had 🙄 I’m certainly going to be pushing for answers/future steps as god knows when the next opportunity will be to speak to someone!!

thislittlebird · 03/03/2021 20:36

Lovely story @Geriatric1234!

@Misty84 that’s so long, they really mess around sometimes. Telling us results should be the easy part Hmm

Kitekat81 · 03/03/2021 20:33

@Geriatric1234 that's brilliant news for your sister! (and for you as auntie 😊) And reassuring for me and @Misty84!

@Misty84 that's mad to have a 2-month wait to discuss the scan. What exactly are they waiting to tell you?? In mine they talked me through it while they were doing the scan, there wasn't much to discuss afterwards.

Misty84 · 03/03/2021 20:16

Ahh thank you @Geriatric1234 ❤️❤️❤️🙏

Misty84 · 03/03/2021 20:15

@Kitekat81 Ah ok, thanks for explaining. It’s a hell of a long wait between tests on the NHS so you’re doing the right thing, you don’t want to waste time.
I’m in the middle of a 2 month wait for a consultation to discuss my transvaginal scan. Only after that can I be booked in for a HyCoSy (and that’ll be a good few months more waiting). I’ve always thought I’ve had a bit of time on my side but I was 34 when I started TTC and I’m 37 in a few months with absolutely nothing achieved, so time does slip away if you don’t make things happen...😔 If ivf is the route then fine, but like you I’m very worried about my low AMH and what impact that will have.

Geriatric1234 · 03/03/2021 20:08

@Kitekat81*@Misty84 please don’t be down about those AMH results. Until that number is 0, you’re still in the game. My sister had a low-ish AMH before her first, but then got breast cancer when my niece was 6 months old (the baby saved her as it was due to breastfeeding she found the lump). She’s now 38 and chemotherapy dropped her AMH to 2.3. She was pretty down about that result, but two weeks later and she’s just found out she’s pregnant again!! It’s one piece in a fertility puzzle and there are lots of elements to tweak - which you’re both doing brilliantly. Just don’t fee to Sht about that one figure. Xxxx

Kitekat81 · 03/03/2021 19:55

@Misty84 yes I'll have to do ivf privately. We already had the initial nhs fertility appointment and were told that we would need to have been trying unsuccessfully for 2 years before we would be diagnosed with unexplained infertility, and they don't put you on the nhs waiting list for ivf until that point. 2 years of trying would take us to april 2022, and then the waiting list is 10 months so that would be January 2023 before we would qualify for ivf on the nhs. I can't wait until January 2023.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/03/2021 19:51

@Magnum99 I'd say that definitely sounds like a cp to me, when I had my first mc I kept getting a bit of bleeding then would stop then start again so I was all over the place! Good that your doc is checking you out though

Misty84 · 03/03/2021 19:44

@Kitekat81 You’re having this all done privately? Is that to speed things along?

thislittlebird · 03/03/2021 19:40

And also good that they gave you plenty of info @Kitekat81, hopefully you’ll find it useful

thislittlebird · 03/03/2021 19:40

Sorry about your news @Kitekat81 but at least you know how many follicles you had on the scan.

Welcome to the thread @pinkpirlie

Magnum99 · 03/03/2021 19:29

@Marvellouslymadmum AF was only a few days late, a couple of days before it started I got the faintest line on FRER but wasn't sure if it was an evap line.
AF is usually around 5 days but this month it was 7 days and then came to an end and now started bleeding like a new AF, although it's not as dark as normal AF. So I'm currently on day 9 of bleeding but no sign of it going away, this is totally not normal for me.

Kitekat81 · 03/03/2021 19:26

@Misty84 they sent me about 6 pages of information with the result that I need to read. The next step would be to have a consultation, but I'll need to pay about £250 for that. I think we'll keep trying for a couple more cycles before we do that, as it's been an expensive cycle already with the hycosy and AMH test (£625 for those 😣) In April we'll have been trying for a year so I think that's the time to do the consultation. Will discuss with them about timescales for doing ivf later in the year (and I suppose about whether it's even worth doing with that AMH score). I don't want to rush into ivf but also don't want to put it off too long.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/03/2021 19:22

@Magnum99 I've had a couple of cp, it depends when in your cycle the bleeding was? It usually happens very soon after af was due and didn't happen

@KG1145 I use the app it works ok for thread chat, mines called Mumsnet talk and when I click on a thread there's two little arrows in the top right hand corner and if you click on those is goes to the newest posts and you just scroll back to the last messages you saw, hope that helps

@Kitekat81 sorry you didn't get great results, I'm not sure I'm looking forward to getting those tests done I'm sure they'll make me feel ancient!

Misty84 · 03/03/2021 19:10

@Kitekat81 Did you get any advice moving forward?

Kitekat81 · 03/03/2021 19:07

It really sucks doesn't it @Misty84 😔

Misty84 · 03/03/2021 18:54

@Kitekat81 I know how you feel as my AMH was 2.4 😔

pinkpirlie · 03/03/2021 18:39

@misty84
Thank you
Actively we are in cycle 2, just ovulated.
But we haven't been careful since last summer.

@Kitekat81
Sorry to hear about your results. I hope that in spite of them you'll still be successful in your journey.

climbershell · 03/03/2021 18:34

I have no idea at all of this is related or work stress, but I was at my laptop thinking of the possibility of taking on my first employee, and then get up to cook

10 mins later I feel v sick, dizzy, headache. No more blood but still got pmt kinda cramps.

Maybe dehydrated, but I've had about 5 cups of decaf tea and 500ml or so of squash and been an admin/quoting not active day

Kitekat81 · 03/03/2021 18:29

Thanks @sickofthisyear for setting up the new thread!

Welcome @pinkpirlie 👋

Well I'm starting the new thread with some not great news. Finally got my AMH result, two weeks after the test. My score was 2.2 so pretty low. Not completely surprised as my follicle count was also low, but still it's a disappointment. It means that I would have a "reduced" response to ivf stimulation and lower chance of success if we do end up going down that road.

Misty84 · 03/03/2021 18:09

Hi @pinkpirlie 👋🏻
How long have you been TTC for? I’m also trying to conceive my first 🙏
