@Marvellouslymadmum and @thislittlebird thank you for the welcome

No formal tests yet they've done the usual rummage around checks as my healthboard it's 38 for referral after 6 mo TTC. I'm on pregnacare vitamins and DH is on the male version.

TTCat39 · 11/03/2021 17:07

Hello @CloseYourMouthLynn I had the vaccine the day before I ovulated during my last cycle. I have to admit I was worried about that, but with OH having a lung condition it is important for me to keep him as safe as possible.
I was concerned about potential side effects throwing my body out of sync and potentially not creating the best environment for early pregnancy. I don't know enough about epidemiology to be concerned about any other potential effects of the vaccine when TTC, except that the NHS advice says that there is no problem conceiving after receiving the jab.
As it turned out, I had no side effects whatsoever and no BFP that month, so onwards we go. If we are still TTC when my second jab comes around, I will have it. But we won't wait until afterwards to keep trying. If I am lucky enough to get a BFP before then, I'll run through the risks with my husband's consultant.

Noodella18 · 11/03/2021 16:47

@CloseYourMouthLynn hi and welcome! I'm 37 and trying for #2 as well, first month here though :) Thanks for that link, it's very useful!

@KG1145 if your consultant said you need to start progesterone when you get pregnant, I would contact them now. There is clearly a line there, and what's the worst that could happen anyway - even if it turned out to be an evap or a chemical (fingers firmly crossed not) you would just stop taking the progesterone. There will probably be a lead time while it gets processed anyway, by which point you will know for sure if the line is darker, and then the progesterone will be ready for you to start taking.

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/03/2021 14:56

Erm major typo iron has improved not Iran 🤦🏼‍♀️

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/03/2021 14:56

Well results are in - Iran has improved a lot but still not quite where it should be so I now go down to one tablet a day and check again in 6 months. For the other things she just said it's all fine and was reluctant to embellish on that, progesterone was high oestrogen and Lh fine so definitely ovulated this month but didn't actually give me any levels or anything. I asked about any other tests amh or afc and she said there's nothing else we would do at primary level as you're ovulating! On one hand I'm a bit cross as I'm sure they should check those too but on the other I'm thinking maybe it's because they think it was down to iron and want to wait and see if it works. I'm kind of left wondering what to do now

CloseYourMouthLynn · 11/03/2021 14:23

Hello - I've been lurking and was hoping I could join? I'm 5 months into trying for #2.

I'm nearly 36 and DH is 38. I'm 8dpo but already know I'm out as my PMS symptoms are depressingly the same every single month, although my cycles vary.

I'm not sure who mentioned the vaccine, but I'm fretting about this too. I think I would have at least the first dose if I'm still TTC by then but also wonder if I got pregnant how it would impact needing to distance from everyone etc., it's a tough decision isn't it.

There is a calculator where you can see an estimated date for getting a vaccine: www.omnicalculator.com/health/vaccine-queue-uk#atrisk

Anyway, enough about me, good luck to you all!

I keep typing digitalis instead of digitalis 😭

The digis will confuse you, stick to the traditional ones.

KG1145 · 11/03/2021 12:40

@thislittlebird

Definitely don’t do digitalis
Yes. Think another frer tomorrow to see if it's darker.

I saw a consultant privately before and he recommended progesterone. Not based on any blood tests or anything but he said it's a cautious approach as I've had two MCs. I'm hoping I might be able to convince my Dr to give it me on the NHS but I think it'll be a huge longshot

KG1145 · 11/03/2021 12:37

@Loladoodle

Sorry didn’t mean to post yet...**@KG1145**

Maybe do a digi in the morning give 24 hours to get hcg up? I know it’s hard to hold off but if it says not pregnant when you def have a line you will feel anxious until you can test again tomorrow.

Yes. Definitely think you're right with waiting! Tomorrow may even be too early for the CB test. I'll have a read 🤞
KG1145 · 11/03/2021 12:33
@KG1145 what dpo are you?
11 days I think. 11 days since I got the smiley on CB digital. Still very early!

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/03/2021 12:29

@KG1145 ooh I do see it! 🤞🏻 it gets nice and strong for you 😊

@mrsmacmc welcome, my oh just turned 40 two weeks ago and feels like he's ancient 🙄 which I keep telling him not to be ridiculous as I'm about to turn 42 lol

thislittlebird · 11/03/2021 12:16

Welcome to the thread @mrsmacmc! My husband is 39 too, he’ll be 40 in November. He never wanted to be “an old dad” but here we are nonetheless.

Have you had any tests yet? Could try some vitamins for your LP, although so far none have changed mine (not that I’m trying to do that, just an observation).

thislittlebird · 11/03/2021 12:13

Definitely don’t do digitalis

mrsmacmc · 11/03/2021 12:13

Could I pull up a chair please? 35 TTC for almost a year now DH is 39 and he keeps thinking he is 'old'. OPK sticks are turning nothing is sticking though / cycles are regular, short luteal phase hovering around 8days. DTD regularly. Got the ball rolling with GP this week for referral to hospital ✨❤️

thislittlebird · 11/03/2021 12:13

*would, stupid phone

thislittlebird · 11/03/2021 12:13

Yeah I wood agree. Maybe just do more regular ones not digitalis, they’ll be more accurate if you’re early days.

Loladoodle · 11/03/2021 12:10

Loladoodle · 11/03/2021 12:06

@KG1145 what dpo are you?

thislittlebird · 11/03/2021 11:17

Yeah that’s the issue @Noodella18, it’s such a wildcard. I didn’t hesitate to have my first dose because I have immune issues and a very reactive body generally. I was just reading the prednisolone stuff online and it said if you’d recently had a vaccine but I assume this is because your immune system isn’t at full strength on oral steroids?

I definitely lean towards having the vaccine whilst pregnant (the pipe dream Confused) over not having it at all.

I hope so too for next year @Katiekattty. I don’t have a very good mother of my own either so it’s hard to think about it all. My AF is finally back to normal after so long, I could cry lmao so I won’t be too far behind you on the OPKs.

Definitely a line @KG1145, fingers crossed!

Katiekattty · 11/03/2021 10:23

AF is finally finished and I’ll be starting to use my OPKs on Sunday. My diet has been good so far this week and I need to pick up some more vitamins. I’m kind of sad I won’t be celebrating Mother’s Day as a mother to be but I’m being determinedly positive that next year I will be.

KG1145 · 11/03/2021 09:57
@KG1145 eeeeek! I can def see it!!!! 🙏 for a darker test tomorrow!
I'm so tempted to pee on a clear blue one but they're not as sensitive as a frer so it would probably be a waste. I'd like one with a yes or no and not lines.

Also wondering if its ridiculous to contact my consultant he mentioned me starting on progesterone or if I should wait for a darker line

Noodella18 · 11/03/2021 09:55

@KG1145 I definitely see it!!! YAYYYYY!!! Congratulations!!! Fingers crossed it gets nice and dark for you over the next few days! Super happy for you! xx

Loladoodle · 11/03/2021 09:53

@KG1145 eeeeek! I can def see it!!!! 🙏 for a darker test tomorrow!
